It was gonna be a top, but I got bored
So, I have a bunch of size #5 thread that I thought was gonna work for a top, but that top actually needs size #10, and I went, "Well, I'll freehand a top. Just make a raglan and party."
So, i busted out my 2.75 and started the chain for the stitch I wanted to use.
Except about nine rows in, even with a pretty stitch, I got bored. So then I decided that every ten rows, I'm adding two more increases to the usual 4 increases in a raglan and just gonna keep going until I have...something.
Anyway, the green is the original raglan increases. The pink is the first set of added increases:
I'm taking a stitch I learned from a slipper pattern that you work as follows:
Complete a chain with an even number of stitches. Ch 1. As this is a raglan top, you want this chain to fit around your head and neck. I made a chain that wrapped around my head, then added an inch.
To make a bit of collar before beginning the stitch pattern, just sc back and forth in rows for however much collar you want.
For stitch pattern, work as directed:
If you did complete a collar: In the first stitch of the collar, complete *(sc, ch 3, sc) in one chain. Skip 3 chains. complete (sc, ch 3, sc) in the following stitch. Skip 2 chains.* Repeat instructions in * across to the end. Chain 1. Turn.
If you did not complete a collar: In the second chain from the hook, complete *(sc, ch 3, sc) in one chain. Skip 3 chains. complete (sc, ch 3, sc) in the following stitch. Skip 2 chains.* Repeat instructions in * across to the end. Chain 1. Turn.
For the second row of the body with or without a collar: In each ch-3 loop from the previous row, complete (sc, ch 3, sc). At end of the row, ch 1, turn.
Mark for raglan increases. For raglan increases, work same as the previous row until you get to the marked stitch. In the marked stitch, do the following:
Complete (sc, ch 3, sc, ch 3, sc ch 3 sc). Place marker in the center ch-3 for all raglan increases.
Work to the next marked stitch and repeat the raglan increase. Repeat with all marked stitches.
Work ten body rows total (9 with raglan increases), then add the second set of markers. On the next row, begin adding increases at the newly marked stitches along with the marked stitches you started with.
That's as far as I've gotten. My next stitch increase is gonna be right at the edge of the fronts, I think. I shall report back as I add more. I will put up a photo when I get one, probably after I join the sleeves just because that'll show the intended extra increases better.

You should make the list of ways you were correct anyways, just for fun ~
eh. sure. why not
Any time a post of mine about afton got a decent amount of notes (aside from fanart) there'd usually be comments on it complaining about how "those" fans [note: i am one of "those" fans] have no idea what his personality actually is, and that they water him down, woobify and mischaracterize him, all while listing things off that are just genuinely part of william's character. while yes, there are fans that DO do that, the stuff they talk about is almost never an actual example of this happening. this is likely due to people not viewing him as a person and just a bland cold serial killer with no personality whatsoever
obviously movie william is not 1:1 with game or book william, but they're gonna be similar in personality. so heres some stuff ive seen people complain was "mischaracterization" thats present in the movie:
hes emotional/sentimental and actually cares about things - william calls the owner of freddys sentimental when talking to mike about the pizzeria (and we all know the owner is william), he visibly regrets/is shocked by the fact he stabs vanessa, he gets really worked up when things dont go his way, very quick to anger, etcetera. one could argue that william is lying about being sentimental and just wants to give an excuse for why the place is still around, but there'd be no reason to do that, considering mike has no idea anyone even died there, let alone the fact HE killed the kids. we know williams sole motive for keeping the place around definitely isnt just sentimental reasons, but i doubt that what he said doesnt have at least an ounce of truth to it. he holds onto trophies from his kills as well if him keeping garretts toy plane is anything to go off of
he actually likes bunnies and has an affinity for them - he has a rabbits foot on his keyring and has a letter/paper holder that's rabbit shaped. the letter holder isnt actually in any shots, but it was present on set on his desk
his personality isnt one note and dull/cold, and hes superstitious & a little offputting/jittery - the rabbits foot on his keyring ties into this idea, because if he actually believes it to be a good luck charm, then it shows some "quirkiness" for lack of a better term that people adamantly refuse to admit is in his personality. this also shows how hes superstitious, which is an idea thats present in the books, and people also like to pretend he isnt. he pokes fun at mike in a somewhat lighthearted way multiple times, he has a has a FRAMED PARTICIPATION AWARD on his wall for christs sake. the kids hair colors match the animatronics they were stuffed into (minus bonnie). he matched them. he made them match he paired them up for fun. not only that, but he gets visibly nervous and antsy when he realizes who mike is, and clearly really wants him to take the job. gets kind of weird. gets a kinda strange. he likes when things match afterall (symmetry, my friend!)
he's theatrical and over the top in personality on purpose (this is also essentially an argument for the last point) - in the books he goes on and on about performance and how he viewed both dave miller & springtrap as characters he plays, and i seriously wouldn't doubt that it'd be the same here, considering how cartoonishly evil he is while wearing the springbonnie suit. the voice changer, the little flourishes he adds to his speech, the fact he wipes off the knife when there wasnt any blood on it in the first place. for what. for what reason other than for pizzazz and intimidation points. the "oh, this is going to be so much fun!" line, and especially his playful demeanor disappearing the second he takes off the mask
he cares about his kids/likes kids - his expression when he stabs vanessa and she falls to the ground says enough i think. obviously hes not a GOOD parent, but being a good parent and caring about your kids are two wildly different things. you can be abusive and still care. most abusers dont process that they are abusers but thats a conversation for another time. william prioritizes himself over anyone else, but he still looks shocked after he stabs his daughter, and i refuse to blame that on bad acting because its MATTHEW LILLARD. the training tape for mike also states that he enjoyed entertaining kids, and yes, while that could be a lie, do you seriously think the creator of what essentially is chuck e cheese would actually despise children. the fact he gives garretts toy plane to vanessa could be a point toward him in this department as well, though its also just as likely he collects them as trophies. i like to think its a mix of both
i included these points specifically because i also have a plethora of evidence for them from both the books and the games, and theyre the ones i most commonly see people stating are unrealistic for afton.
its not a lot of stuff, but its not like he has a lot of screentime. lets be real
i do ADORE how egotistical and shortsighted they made him in the movie, though everyone can generally agree on that being a staple trait of his

Wednesday again
The gray will be a sleeveless turtleneck, cast on a couple of weeks ago. Stalled while waiting for help from the designer. So I cast-on a quick tee. This one has yarn issues. While waiting for a shipment, I went back to the gray. So now I'm going back and forth nicely and have two nearly complete tops.
There's a lot of cotton here. They will need some blocking attention.

Attempting to create my own pattern for a white cabled sweater pray for me
#I’m frankensteining together cables from a knitting book I got at the thrift store#and also referencing other similar sweater patterns just for neckhole shaping#because I’ve never done a sweater like this worked flat#I’ve only done raglans in the round so this is newer territory for me#but the amount of like 5d chess I would have to do to figure out how to do this in the round…..woof#hey wait a second#might not be too difficult if I tried it bottom up#I’ve been trying to figure out how I would do it raglan style top down but it seemed so crazy complex#but bottom up would be easier to figure out I think….#am I crazy#would it be just as hard??#idk#fibre arts#fibre crafts#knitblr#knitting

have vaguely been thinking it might be good for me to try running again ever (my deeply beloathed) but since whenever the fuck the last time was that i engaged in it at all i seem to have misplaced basically all my winter running gear and also acquired Convictions abt polyester &c, which is making it difficult to figure out how to outfit myself :/
#also leggings give me crises now but that part is solvable by just layering shorts over top#anyway probably (as always) merino is the answer but it's like#can't believe i have to spend Actual Money to outfit myself 4 an activity i don't even really want 2 be doing lol#(like there IS exercise i enjoy it's just never historically been running)#(except for the one freak period where crew had gotten me SO fit it actually felt good. this will not happen again.)#that said i made an actual list of necessary garments and prooooooobably i could get away with just a heavy midlayer at first#other things on the wishlist (raglan-sleeved baselayer‚ possibly some kind of running vest??) but like#unless i actually do this more than‚ like‚ once it's absolutely not worth the investment#so we'll see#exercise cw#anyway forgive the deeply boring post—it's just helpful in thinking through things to write them out

Lovely side seam of the top-down pullover I'm working on. The larger cable follows the raglan seam to the shoulder. Small cables create a faux seam at the sides. Such a nice pattern. Having fun knitting with medium weight yarn.

can anyone who’s ever used a woolmi generated pattern let me know how it went? i tried to look up reviews but the one reddit thread i found the person was like, “does this work?” and people were just like, that place only has one pattern and it looks boring try these OTHER pattern creator sites.
but like. to be clear i don’t care that woolmi doesn’t generate a wide range of styles i want a v-neck top down raglan sleeve sweater pattern written to be knit in the round. i just wanna know if the formula they’re using to generate the pattern works well because i’m atypical in size (mainly, i’m very short but with wide-ish bust and proportionately quite wide upper arms) and i’m hesitant to start a completely untested pattern.
#knitting#woolmi#alternatively if you've used a different free pattern generator site#that can produce the sweater i want#and you really liked it feel free to let me know#OR if you just know of a good top down v neck raglan sweater pattern completely worked in the round#with a gage of roughly 16 stitches in 4 inches#share that!#i just have yarn and a rough gage for it#and i want an easy brainless sweater
