Based on this official merch art of Raggedy Ann and Andy. Did you know that the two characters were originally from a book series? The books came out about 100 years ago and they were all dedicated to the author’s late daughter, Marcella Gruelle, whose favorite doll was named “Ann”. The books became so popular that the author decided to create merchandise for them, and Raggedy Ann became the first patented toy design ever! Her brother character Andy was popular too, and he had his own book series, so the toys were often sold together as a pair. One of their most well-known depictions is in the movie Raggedy Ann & Andy: A Musical Adventure, which was a large inspiration for the viral animated series The Amazing Digital Circus.
