Headcanons:

I think they all often switch around who's the big spoon, little spoon, and who's in between

Raine mostly dresses masc and most of Eda's wardrobe is torn dresses, so they only borrow clothes from her once and awhile, Eda borrows pants or a clean shirt from Raine more often

Darius both lends and borrows clothes to and from both of them

Darius is actually the most shy when it comes to expressing or displaying his romantic feelings due to his pridefullness

He is also probably the most responsible when it comes to domestic stuff like cooking and cleaning, meanwhile Eda is the least responsible despite it being her house

They all have different ideas of an ideal date, Darius's is going out to a fancy restaurant, Raine's is having a romantic picnic, and Eda's is drinking and having fun at home

Ok I figured it out!!

Darius and Alador were high school sweathearts with Odalia being close in their shared friendgroup. But then something went wrong and they gradually fell apart with Alador slowly drifting towards Odalia. (I don't really want her to be the reason they broke up cause she is bad but not one-dimensional bad AND I don't want the 'woman breaks the mlm couple' trope, plus I think she was fine as a teen and got worse with time). They just naturally broke up, this happens.

Then he started spending more time with Eda and Raine who had their thing developing and maybe something between the three of them somewhere on the horizon.

And then Eda's curse happens. And everything sort of falls apart.

And maybe Darius was still trying to keep in touch. But then Eda was forcing everyone away, that even Raine eventually left.

And then the whole thing with Darius's mentor happens(I like to think Darius got close to knowing what's up with the Emperor and realized his mentor was gone because he got close too. Much closer) and he closed off.

hey heads up open talk of sexual (raedius) things in here I love polycule dynamics where its either two allos one ace or two aces and one allo darius is someone who's asexual but only disgusted by sexual activities if it involves himself. if it involves eda and raine he is very supportive the way any partner would be for their lovers - including gifting them "bedroom toys" - he'd never partake in sex himself as an asexual but that wont stop him from being a supportive wife raine & eda absolutely destroying each other meanwhile darius is in the other room happy as can be doing self care - eating snacks - sewing some new stuffed animals for his room and playing his favorite show at full volume taking a nap all at the same time - absolute heaven for her bc she loves her alone time then afterwards raine and eda are done and darius gets even more excited because aftercare time!! (yippie!) and he'll actually join in most of the time it'll just be the 3 of them having a fancy bubble bath together - raine & eda are often too tired to prepare it bc of how much they exhausted their bodies out but darius is full of energy and very giddy (for reasons discussed below) and this is where the "whore in the asexual way" part comes in; Darius is an absolutely whore for any physical affection - like he needs affection. As soon as they're all in the bath Darius is stuck like glue to them for the rest of the night. Kisses, cuddles, pet names, compliments, etc. All of them will praise each others' bodies in a way that isn't really sexual but rather simple love & admiration - especially Darius. Raine is mostly silent (eda exhausted them so much LMFAO) while eda and darius are playing with each other's hair as they clean each other up Also also - Darius has two forms of affection that he ended up getting from eberwolf (and possibly impulses & instincts from his abomination form bleeding through) which is - nuzzling his face against his loved ones' face, playfully biting them, and sniffing them aggressively - he can identify where raine & eda is just from their scent even when they're far away once aftercare is done they all pile into the nest and pass tf out - the next day raine & eda are well rested, still a bit sore and woozy from last night, but overall feel very satisfied while darius is feeling well rested, and very refreshed, but maybe a little bit lazy - he just wants to keep cuddling with his amazing partners for just a little longer <3 I love raedius - rant over

raine and eda and darius happily growing old together while working to rebuild and decolonize the world when their literal FIRST onscreen interaction involved two of them entering an insane suicide pact just to horrifically murder the other. WHO is doing it like them.

I see them more as co-leaders, since they started out with separate plans in the same direction. But you are right about the potential for drama! They have literally been trusting each other, and Eberwolf, with their lives.

In my ideal future, Raine ends up dating both Darius and Eda. (They're the stepparent of all time for Hunter, King, and Luz.)

I just had a thought...

As much as I love Raine and Darius as friends, the ship between them is also really cute, and I just realized something about their dynamic.

They were leading the rebellion together. Raine was the one who created it, but Darius was definitely second in command and the one they trusted the most, right? I'm pretty sure that's canon, or at least implied.

Being trusted by a leader often includes having their back and protecting them. The character starts off doing it for the cause (in this case, the rebellion), but we all know how this goes in fiction: the leader and their right hand man often get attached to each other, with the right hand man becoming overprotective because of feelings and constantly putting their life on the line.

What I'm saying is: these two are perfect for a knight AU. Or a bodyguard AU. Specifically with a lot of angst.

In fact, it doesn't even need to be an AU, does it? Just Darius being protective of Raine while helping them lead the CATs, not because of the rebellion, but because he caught feelings.

And if we wanna make it even more angsty, we can add unrequited love. Darius is pining, but Raine is so focused on leading the rebellion that they don't realize it, and even if they did, they're not over Eda. They genuinely think Darius risking his life for them is just him being really dedicated to the rebellion, and when they do realize it, they feel like a terrible person for not considering it before and not being sure if they feel the same.

I'm just saying, the potential for some good fanfiction is right there.
