c!Ven is someone who is ultimately run by his own fear. Like S1 Jon, he collects evidence and analyses it apatheticly, as looking too hard at the situation he’s in would cause more fear. He won’t admit it, but he’s terrified of the world he’s been put in. But at the same time, he won’t step away from his job, because deep down he knows that he can’t. He has to do this, he’s the only one who can.

Rae Morningstar consistently gets The Horrors thrown at him, and usually comes out the other side with a new scar or a changed body part. Like S4+ Jon, sometimes he wonders if he’s still the person he used to be before he experienced all of this, and that weighs on him a bit, but he tries to ignore that feeling. He’s also ran by his need to fix things, even though it’s a job that was forced upon him. He can’t stop now, he’s so deep in it all, and it’s so tied to his past. He’s channeling the pain he’s felt into changing the world for the better, and keeping others from feeling that pain. But god, he’s so exhausted, and just wants to have something for himself to come home to.

I thought of another headcannon

The entire fable crew. Everyone. Doesn’t matter if they’re a god or a soul in alicium. They all meet once a week to just hang out. Sometimes it’s a sleepover sometimes they just sit together and tell stories. Sometimes it’s group therapy. The important thing is. Everyone is there. Even Icarus tries to make sure they can look over it every time.

The only person who’s not always there is isla. But that’s because she volunteers for babysitting duty

I love the different portrayals of grief within Fablesmp-

The hopelessness, the anger, the bargaining, the acceptance-

For a bit of despair, we have Rae. He's frustrated and blaming himself a little bit, hoping and wishing for a better situation where he simply could've actually even seen his own mother in person. But no. One mother is stolen, the other is dead, his psuedo-father is a villain, and his brother has fallen in line behind that man. And Centross is essentially dead- he's still there, but he's not the same. They will never be able to have breakfast times again, etc.

The anger. Oh boy the anger. For anger, we have Ocie. She is very angry now. Angry at the world. Angry at circumstances. Angry at herself. Angry at Fable. Momboo is dying. Chaos and the rest of her partners are dead. She thought Centross was dead. Worst of all, the graves and keepsakes from her former partners are all scattered by the resets. As she said herself, she doesn't even get to keep their graves. And she's willing to stab a few folks about that.

In a way, even Fable is angry with grief.

Bargaining! Ven himself. Bargaining with Perix, with Fable, with himself. Bargaining with the hope he still is holding onto by the thinnest thread imaginable. Snarling like a wolf in the face of any despair that may creep up on him, but cowering beneath the one who promises to return his love to him.

I don't know a ton about Ulysses, but I see acceptance within him. He's tried to fix death. He's tried to get people back, to save people, to fix them. And it simply doesn't work. So he's accepted that, and his trying to be better. Running from the monster of his past, timidly offering assistance while trying so desperately not to fall into bad habits. There is a sadness within him, but it's not just due to his grief over the people he's lost- it's those remnants of grief over the actions he's committed. Those atrocities whose bloods sink into ever crevice on his palm, staining every action and word he speaks.

This is it. The final stretch, the final hurra. This is the last chance for success or failure. The last chance for Rae Morningstar to put his foot down and fight. The last chance for Icarus Morningstar to free themself from their father. The last chance for Venear Atlan to prove himself worthy. The last chance for- well ok the list goes on. It's the last day for them. Last day for them to stop the resets, stop the pattern. For families to reunite and be whole again, changed for the better and peaceful. 2 v faction team. Seems easy, yeah? The Reaver. All these pieces of gods, shoved unceremoniously into a farming tool. Who's to say which power will be chosen come time for the fight.

What happens with Isla? Where does she go if Fable dies? Does the pocket dimension fall? Does she get released? Does she finally get to see her kids? Will she utter their name in memory? Or confusion and blankness? Will her whole life be restarted?

What happens with Athena and Bruin and Rae? All these children with shards of gods in them. Will they live to see the days after tomorrow? Will they live in a cottage on a hill with a farm and a rocking chair out front with gray hairs and kids in the yard? Will they get to greet all those they've lost when they pass? Will Soraza run to pull her daughter into a hug? Vesperae tackling Ulysses to the floor? Meeting Aax and learning that Ulysses was like her father? Jamie running to their mom again, crying in her lap like so many years ago. Easton being able to see without the sculk, seeing their mom again and listening to her sing.

Will Raemond and Everett get to meet they're grandkids? Will they tell them stories of when their mother was young? Of how they met?

ROMANTIC

5. Wetbird- I am a proud Icarus POV main and I enjoy a healthy bit of Vens POV as well. There is something about this ship that just feels very right to me and also they both have experience with Fable so I feel like they'd have this ability when something might set the other off with trauma and stuff

4. Ghaae- The OG polycule on the server and they can do no wrong in my eyes. They support each other so nicely and its just wonderful.

3. Isla/Enderian- The momssss. I love them sm for so many reasons. Enderian being protective of Isla and only soft for her is mmmmm/pos

2. Ocie/Centross- you guys I love them. I love them so much. They are so similar and I love them so much and they're just mmmmmmm/vpos. How to I explain the love I have for these two.

Wolftross- I hold them in my little hands. As a Centross POV main(until the cathedral, ofc), watching this relationship form was one of my favorite things ever. From the castle back to spawn to s3, I love this ship with my whole heart.

PLATONIC

5. Rae/Wolf(Nightingstar?)- Okay so I love these two as a duo, and the cast can do what the cast wants to do with their characters. Now, with that being said- something about them becoming romantic didn't and still doesn't sit right with me. I can totally see the two in a QPR, they have a great dynamic as partners, but I just prefer them as a platonic ship.

4. Ari/Momboo- I have seen like three posts about them as partners and I hold them in my hands. The sun/moon imagery. The potential for nicknames. They would be wonderful QPPs.

3. End duo- They're such close friends. They are always there for each other. I hold them in my hands.

2. Ghosty/Momboo- LOTW and the guy she revived. The everlasting friendship. Their beauty as a duo. They are so good you guys I don't know how to sell this please just trust me on it.

Prison duo- I could go on for so long about why these two are the perfect platonic relationship in my eyes. They have similar trauma, saw each other at their worsts, when through so much shit and came out as best friends. Icarus taking off their jacket, which they don't do often, in front of Centross. Icarus letting Centross give them a tattoo. Icarus barely fighting Centross when he took off their gloves. Centross showing up on Icarus' doorstep with a skulk injury. Centross fighting Fable for Icarus. Them, everyone.

Fable SMP Finale - Analysis & Thoughts

Holy shit, I cannot even begin to describe how much of an emotional rollercoaster watching the finale of Fable SMP was. I was sobbing one second, screaming in joy the next, laughing and smiling not soon after, and feeling anger or sickness. The pure emotion that the cast of Fable SMP put into this masterpiece is undeniable. And yes, I know it's silly little block people playing silly little stories, but their our silly little block people and their stories are huge! There were cutscenes with commissioned art!

The joy and comfort that Fable SMP has brought me over the past many months is massive. Their streams were around for me to watch when I was having bad days or needed something in the background while studying. Fable SMP was a multimodal storytelling wonder. And whilst I'm sad it's over, I'm happy it was there to start with. I came into this fandom at the mid-point of S2, and from then on, have been hooked. I love the art and the cosplay and the nice fandom with friendly, cosy chat communities. But anyways, let's get into this analysis. (also RIP Rakai, thankyou for romantically distracting Ick and making them forget about hunting the child, a.k.a Athena) Spoilers!!!!!!!!!! For anyone who hasn't watched the finale!

To start with, watching the complicated emotion portrayed by Sherbertquake through Icarus was incredible acting. The whole cast, including Fable himself (aka Mr. HeyHay's husband), displayed awesome acting that I'm jealous of and one day hope to be able to express. I loved watching Sherb change their expression, even minutely, as everyone just unloaded their trauma and screamed at Fable. I loved watching as they realised that maybe their dad wasn't the best guy, even though they knew it in the back of their mind the whole time. Hearing the raw emotion that each member of the cast poured into their act was impressive, and reminded me that you don't just have to be an actor to be good at acting. As of now, I'm still yet to watch HeyHays POV, but trust me I will, I just need to emotionally heal over the next couple of days.

Now onto the storyline of the finale. Now of course, I've only watched from Sherberts' POV, but here's what I think as of now. I started watching the episode effectively knowing what would go down, but I still came out surprised. At the start, I could definitely see the hesitance for action in Icarus but also their want for relief and the freeing of burden, still mostly trusting in their father. Of course, Icarus would always trust Fable at the start, he is their dad. Their dad who they've been missing all their life, whenever they actually needed him, he couldn't be there. Fable was also the one that promised Icarus what they wanted; peace, freedom from Quixis, their mother back, a happy united family, no more resets. Why wouldn't Icarus believe everything their father said? It's like a preacher in a pulpit. But as we moved further through the episode, we started to see everything fall apart. We could see pain, pain as people had to fight others they didn't want to. And then things started to unravel more as everyone entered Purgatory for the final show down. Our beloved Violet of course swooped in to save the day in the final second, saving Athena from Reaver by Fable's hand. Fable was then chained, which is ironic, as this whole scene reminded us of Fable's new mortality. That without the Reaver, he was nothing. And then, we finally got to see Icarus redeem themselves. I thought the glitching trident through the chest was very poetic and very Icarus. The creation destroying their creator in more ways than one. Fable was both Icarus's dad but also the creator of who Icarus had become over the last couple of months. He poisoned Icarus and turned them against their friends, so it was nice to see Icarus make things right and put Fable out of his misery. And then everyone was together again. The brothers were reunited, and I cried when we finally got to see Icarus and Rae get that much needed hug. Athena didn't immediately forgive Icarus, but that's fair, and Icarus understood that and was willing to move towards restoring their relationship. I suppose that's what happens when you push Athenas boyfriend off a tree and hurt Momboo. I think Arisanna staying back in Purgatory and working to restore it was a good move, and I'm excited to watch everyone else's epilogues. When it was time to Icarus to pass on, I was also really sad, because this meant the actual end for the series, especially for Icarus. It was nice to see Violet/Centross and Ick get closure and emotionally heal? And for Ick and Rae get a final goodbye.

Okay, so the art cutscenes? Awesome! They added finesse to the final scenes and made the project really elaborate and put together. I love @fruitsalad864 art, and I could definitely see bits of Silco in Fable. *chefs kiss* I think putting the art in grey background and black ink with touches of colour for emphasis and embellishment was a good creative choice and didn't make anything too busy. I loved the flashes of peoples eyes as they casted the spell to trap Fable, it was a nice way to include everyone into the art. But what do I know? I had to quit high school art classes in Grade 10, which is sad.

Anyways, Sherberts filmed end scene. Let's look at that. Well, we finally got to see Quixis' face, in fact we got to see all of Quixis and the world port. Does anybody know if the creators made the world port prop or they went some where to film. Because if so, kudos for being brave enough to film in a large public setting. The emotion and ambience in the moment was great, and finding out why all the wack has been happening to Icky was a big relief to know. Thankyou Quixis for protecting the wet bird from carrying the burden when they were too young and giving them time to grow up. You're our favourite god/not god kinda' person! Finding out that when Icarus were to take the position, everyone would forget about them past the point of when they died in the first reset, saddened me. But also, seeing Icarus accept this and take up the mantle with no hesitation was a good character development, showing that they're now a selfless person who will do anything for their family. But it's sad that Ick won't see them for a while and they won't remember what happened. But I was also happy, happy to see Icarus move on and happy to see the relief on all their alternate selves faces as Icarus took the spot as Quixis. The filming as we spun through the reel of Icarus's AU's was beautiful and had a good use of angles. The cosplays were awesome, and I've just got to say, the use of that piece of music was perfect, it gave a sense of hope, peace, and new beginnings. It was fresh and I almost felt the wind on my face. Thankyou @sherbertquake56 and your film crew for doing these scenes for us, they added the closure we all needed.

For now, I think I'm calling this a finish for my analysis. But I'll be back! Don't worry! I'll be doing some short analysis's of everyone else's epilogues and also ticking off the predictions I made earlier this year.

Anyway

Head cannons!

1. I headcannon that ven remembered Icarus a few hours after getting back to the past. And he spend the rest of his life making small little drawings or something for Icarus. Which of course disappeared a few minutes later.

2.Rea knows something is wrong with his memory. He’s aware that something or someone is missing. He’s searches his mind several times looking for it but found nothing. It’s one of his other projects. He’s not yet thought of any connection to his quixis research.

3.Veah talks to Icarus like Icarus talked to Midas with the wall and pond. Though instead of big things they talk through flowers. Small things that are insignificant in the grand scheme of things. Veah’s got her own notebook and everything. Wanting to be just like his dad. Rea doesn’t know. Cause Veah like his dad wants to figure it all out before sharing anything.

4. Ocie remembers Ven. The first time she realized the others don’t she tried to tell someone about ven only for Icarus to intervene and tell her to not talk about Ven. Ocie put up a bit of a fight cause to her this was yet another god like person trying to tell her what to do. But eventually Icarus got her to pinky swear she wouldn’t tell anyone.

5. The first time isla met aax she was very curious about him. She wanted to know as much as possible about her sons partner.

Similarly when isla met wolf she asked him a whole bunch of questions as well. Until she learned that fenris was a prince and where he was from. They spend the rest of the day talking about fenris’s family

Fable is Reggie Hargreaves, no doubt in my mind

Rae is the equivalent to Vanya/Viktor. Fable told him his entire life that he has no powers.

Icarus and Rae’s dynamic is like Allison and Viktor’s. Toxic

Icarus is Number One. Their power is potions, they don’t need books, they just have all the information in their head and can make anything in just a couple minutes.

Athena is Number Two. They can destroy things just by gesturing to the object and wanting it to get destroyed.

Centross is Number Three. He’s a mix of Luther and Diego, super strong and very good with his weapons. He gets sent to the Med Bay a lot after missions and Fable is always mad at him for letting himself get hurt.

Jamie is Number Four. They can talk to animals and occasionally make new ones in their room, much to everyone’s awe and dismay. They’re really close with Easton because they’re bio siblings.

Easton is Number Five. They got blinded during a mission when they were younger and Fable doesn’t allow them to partake in missions anymore, even though they can sense using the plants around them.

Haley is Number Six. She can see and hear a few minutes into the future at will and is good friends with Icarus.

Rae is Number Seven. He’s been told his entire life that he doesn’t have powers so he works on gear and equipment maintenance for everyone else. He also patches everyone up (mostly Centross) after missions.

Isla is defiantly Grace and I think c!Ven would be Pogo.

I was bored at a meeting type thing two days ago so I did a lil bit of rough sketching.

These are the results! I like Rae and Momboo the most. I don't know what went wrong with Icarus though lol, we'll just ignore them-

I also just did some rought coloring bc I wanted to, here's how that looks.

I don't know whether I prefer the uncoloured or the coloured versions but I am glad I did the sketches in the first place.

This is my first time drawing any sort of specific fanart for a fandom and I am a little sad that it took me until days before the finale airs to draw anything related to fable smp, but it is what it is.

I kinda want to do a bigger, digital lineup with more characters but knowing me that's gonna take a long time (if it gets done at all). I'm posting about it here so I have more incentive to actually do it. I did want to get that finished by the time I watch the finale (not when it airs bc that's not possible), but I don't think that's going to happen, no matter how much I want it to.
