Ch 15: Making Connections Verse 1

The group huddled around Tailor as he fiddled with wires and antennas, trying to get a tablet in a rugged black and yellow case to pick up radio signals. Rachelle sat nearby, going over a list of medical supplies they needed to stock up on, while Erzabet paced back and forth, trying to ease her anxious energy.

Trace watched Tailor work, his eyes lingering on the other man's hands as they deftly twisted and connected wires. Finally, he spoke up.

"Where do we go from here? Any leads on other survivors?" Trace asked.

Tailor looked up from his work, wiping sweat from his forehead. "I'm still trying to get this thing to work. But we can start by heading to the nearest city and scanning for any radio signals."

Rachelle nodded in agreement. "We should also try to find a pharmacy or hospital to stock up on medical supplies. I don't want to run out of antibiotics or painkillers."

Erzabet chimed in, "It'll only get more crowded in the city. More snacks!"

Trace furrowed his brow in thought. "What about the underground tunnels beneath the city? I heard they were used during Prohibition to smuggle alcohol. Maybe we can find a safe way in down there."

Tailor nodded, impressed by Trace's knowledge. "That's a great idea. We can use the tablet to map out the tunnels and find a secure spot."

As Tailor continued to work on the tablet, the others discussed their plans. They talked about the risks and the challenges ahead, but they also talked about the hope they held for finding other survivors and rebuilding the world.

After several hours of tinkering, Tailor finally got the tablet to pick up a faint radio signal. The group cheered and high-fived each other, grateful for any small victory.

As they packed up their gear and prepared to set out on their journey, Trace pulled Tailor aside.

"Hey, I just wanted to say thanks for letting me come with you guys," Trace said, a small smile on his face.

Tailor grinned, feeling a warmth spread through his chest. "Of course, man. We're in this together."

The group of four rode their solar-powered bikes through the deserted streets of an abandoned suburb. The houses looked empty, but every now and then, they would catch a glimpse of a zombie going through the motions of their former lives. One zombie was standing at a mailbox, repeatedly opening and closing it. Another was shuffling down the street with a lawnmower.

Tailor led the way, his laptop balanced precariously on the handlebars. "I'm picking up some chatter on the ham radio frequencies," he said, "but it's mostly static. We need to find a better signal."

Rachelle, who was riding next to him, nodded in agreement. "And we need to keep moving. The longer we stay in one place, the greater the chance we'll attract unwanted attention."

Erzabet, who was pedaling behind them, grinned. "I don't know about you guys, but I'm feeling pretty invincible with my newly liberated bike."

Trace, who was bringing up the rear, chuckled. "Yeah, we're more likely to be targeted by the living than the undead."

I saw your post a couple days ago about Duke seeing the batfam members auras differently, and I really liked it! You totally don't have to if you don't want to, but I'm new to the fandom, and am only vaguely aware of Duke's light/light-remniscent/related(?) powers... would you mind explaining them to me (no idea he could see 'auras', and that sounds so cool!)? Otherwise I'm sure I'll pick it up from somewhere else/look it up myself @ some point soon enough :)

I might not be completely accurate because I still haven't gotten around to reading more recent comics but I'll tell you the gyst of what I understand of his powers.

Duke can manipulate light. So he can turn the lights up and down and all that jazz.

This extends to the entire electromagnatic spectrum, so that means that Duke can see shrimp colors, and see Radiowaves to Gamma Rays and maybe even more. It also means he could manipulate those too, so theoretically Duke could hack radiosignals with nothing but his powers to get a message across, or he could heat up food, or maybe even stop/absorb/redirect Gamma Rays from being harmful to people by changing the wavelength

Duke can also use his powers to see flashes of the future and past.

That's all I can remember, but Duke is also a Demigod (Son on Gnomon) so there's a possiblity he could be even more powerful that the things i've listed

Thinking about how the voice from the radio in radio.signal deep down did love his friend!!!

He doesn’t relish in joy when you accidentally die even commenting, “I hope the pain doesn’t last for much longer. I really hope it doesn’t.”

However the voice is trapped in the radio and desires to be free. So he vicariously lives through his friend. Encouraging the player, his friend, to do whatever he wants regardless of who it hurts because to the voice that’s what being free is.

That’s what the voice does to the player. Constantly put you down to ensure you’re dependent on him because he needs you. Not the other way around.

The desperation in the radio’s voice to please . . . accept him. That you’re so alike! When you’re not.

It’s why the voice has tried so hard to turn his friend into a monster like him. A monster who will hurt anyone in the way of their freedom.

However the player doesn’t want to be like that anymore. He doesn’t want to hurt people. He wants to change, be better and do better. Atone regardless of the consequences.

In the end the voice lacks the ability to understand why his best friend is so happy. So happy that he’s finally going to be arrested and punished for all the crimes he’s committed. That he’s going to be locked away for the rest of his life. Yet he’s smiling.

The player is becoming free in a way the voice will never understand and they finally reach it when turning the radio off.

While the voice will forever remain trapped due to his selfishness and self destructive nature.

In the Ending Sin where you listen to the voice. He even mentions how he will love you forever.

To obtain this toxic dependency it requires the player to give up their freedom. Not the voice’s version of freedom. The player’s version of freedom. The ability to make decisions and do what you believe is right. Regardless of what the voice says.

The voice may love you, but it’s not healthy. That’s why you have to become free from him.

The form of the object is showing to viewers the instruments of registration of radio pulses, like antennas and radio telescopes.

Object is a metaphor of curiosity of the people, all the questions that we ask and our doubts in knowledges that we already have.

All of us look like little child in a dark room, that are listening to the deep space and is trying not to be alone and ask again and again: what was before when we had nothing?

US Scientists detected Mysterious Radio Signals From Deep Space Repeatedly Reaching Earth every 16 Days

Signals from galaxies 500 million years away increase the presence of  Aliens:

If life itself is a mystery to most of us, it is difficult to understand the universe with all of its planets, stars, galaxies, and others. There are theories from time to time about the aliens living there, but so far without scientific evidence. But now a paper recently published in RXIV with a variety of studies on FRB or rapid radio bursts in recent years has given some clues to such aliens living in giant spiral galaxies that are only 500 million light-years away from Earth. Paul Ginsparg is a physicist at Cornell University in Paul Ginsburg and founder of Archiv. It is an open access repository for electronic preprints. This is not a full peer review, but will be approved after moderation is complete. Paul says his understanding that the evidence available does not preclude researchers from understanding FRB studies. But that also means that they don't need it. In this sense, there are plausible explanations that remain the same or more plausible and do not use supernatural intelligence. Fast radio bursts have been multiple bursts of radio waves for years. Personal radio waves was broadcast once but didn't repeat. Previous observations have shown that FRBs occur rarely, but only sporadically or in clumps. The results published by the researchers in arXiv, which Paul commented on above, refer to FRB studies that were carried out on September 16, 2018, on October 3, 2019. However, during the above period, the researchers found a pattern of bursting. This happened every 16.35 days. There will be one or two outbreaks per hour for four days, silent for another 12 days, and lasting more than a year until October 2019. FRB is now known as FRB 180916.J0158 + 65 by CHB or Canadian Hydrogen Intensity Mapping Experiment / Fast Radio Burst Project Collaboration. They also discovered eight new repetitive fast radio burst sources, including FRB 180916. These repetitive signals are projected onto galaxies about 500 million light-years away and only lead to modern theories of extraterrestrials capable of transmitting such strong signals that can reach such great distances without distortion.
