Waoh just watched a lets play of radio.signal because of your post recommending it and i also, love voices. I am now in love. I would really like it a lot if you ended up writing for the voice.
Do you think he's a voice inside of the player's head? or is it a literal partner in crime on a radio? Also weird but I am very attached to this from him
'No. No, no, no. I was going to say to "turn left". Why couldn't you wait for me to finish." "It's always been like this. I tell you to do something, thinking of your own good, but you just...won't...listen.'
It's crazy because of how every time you don't listen to him, you really do get hurt. But at the same time its oh so clear that this voice isnt good for you.
But do you think it's an actual voice on a radio? Or a hallucination? Please dicuss.
Sorry for answering this a bit late, I just really wanted to give a good response since this is the ONLY ask I have for it but YES YES YES IM SO GLAD YOU WATCHED A LETS PLAY OF IT.
It's so...Ugh. I feel like most of my followers would really like it and find it compelling.
The complexity, for me, lies not just in the Radio Voice, but in his and the player's relationship itself. The clear dependency we have on him, the way he relishes in it. His surefire ideal of control over the player.
And when he tells you to apologize to him for tripping and hurting yourself.
"Say that you're sorry."
Fuck man.
I'm almost 1000% sure it's supposed to be a voice in the player's head. Buuuut, the creator did say it was up to interpretation in the end...
So because I'm a filthy whore for partners in crime, I'd like to think it's a sexy-sounding, yet toxic accomplice guiding us into finishing what we started.
One line that gets me, though, (besides the entire ending) is:
"We're in this mess because you couldn't even kill a person right, so how do you expect to stand up to me?"

Trying to explain to someone why they should check out a visual novel without spoiling it is SO HARD!!!
That’s especially the case with radio.Signal
Tumblr media
A psychological horror visual novel, where a mysterious voice coming from a radio is guiding you through a hospital. You can’t remember exactly why you’re here . . . but one thing you’re certain.
You need to get to Room 521.
And yesss it does help that the man over the radio’s voice is HOT (⸝⸝⸝◉⸝⸝⸝◉⸝⸝⸝)♡!!!
With it’s trippy visuals setting the mood perfectly!
Radio.Signal is able to create a chilling gut punch horror that left me an emotionally devastated mess. While simultaneously healing something in me I didn’t realize needed to be.
Tumblr media
The game has multiple ending but only two are real endings for the main story. When you finish them I do recommend staying for the end credits (′͈∨‵͈♡).
Also the main story is only about 30-45 minutes. However there is a cool secret if you collect all the endings!!
Will you turn your radio off when the time is right? Or continue to trust the voice whose been guiding you?

Thinking about how the voice from the radio in radio.signal deep down did love his friend!!!
Tumblr media
He doesn’t relish in joy when you accidentally die even commenting, “I hope the pain doesn’t last for much longer. I really hope it doesn’t.”
However the voice is trapped in the radio and desires to be free. So he vicariously lives through his friend. Encouraging the player, his friend, to do whatever he wants regardless of who it hurts because to the voice that’s what being free is.
Tumblr media
That’s what the voice does to the player. Constantly put you down to ensure you’re dependent on him because he needs you. Not the other way around.
The desperation in the radio’s voice to please . . . accept him. That you’re so alike! When you’re not.
It’s why the voice has tried so hard to turn his friend into a monster like him. A monster who will hurt anyone in the way of their freedom.
However the player doesn’t want to be like that anymore. He doesn’t want to hurt people. He wants to change, be better and do better. Atone regardless of the consequences.
In the end the voice lacks the ability to understand why his best friend is so happy. So happy that he’s finally going to be arrested and punished for all the crimes he’s committed. That he’s going to be locked away for the rest of his life. Yet he’s smiling.
Tumblr media
The player is becoming free in a way the voice will never understand and they finally reach it when turning the radio off.
While the voice will forever remain trapped due to his selfishness and self destructive nature.
Tumblr media
In the Ending Sin where you listen to the voice. He even mentions how he will love you forever.
To obtain this toxic dependency it requires the player to give up their freedom. Not the voice’s version of freedom. The player’s version of freedom. The ability to make decisions and do what you believe is right. Regardless of what the voice says.
The voice may love you, but it’s not healthy. That’s why you have to become free from him.

thinking about radio.Signal again bc i still cant get over the elevator ending. it feels very out of place with everything else? there’s arguably a thread of supernatural elements throughout the game (the Bird esp) but the elevator is where it feels like it tips over fully and really leans into that. the way it builds up; repetitive commands to turn back, this doesn’t work, this shouldn’t work, you are not supposed to be here.
and then finally the radio voice turning against the mc entirely, all the while still keeping the whole ‘why would you make me do this :(((’. he’s more outright cruel here (”i don’t care anymore”), less confusingly sympathetic and more mother gothel vibes if you know what i mean. something about the way the radio voice counts the floors still sticks out to me — its the first point in the game where i actually felt like i had fucked up. it felt like a point of no return even though i would just be back at my last save in seconds.
which brings me back to my original point: where does the elevator take you? apparently it fell down during the earthquake (quoting these from memory so take that with a grain of salt) and all the entrances except this one had been covered up. why? and if, if it does stop, at wherever the top of the hospital is, what sort of horrifying thing is up there that the radio voice just cuts off all attempts at helping once you’re inside the elevator?
or maybe it’s because he knows you’ll never make it out. the elevator isn’t supposed to exist after all.

hi spri :D 4 and 25 please
hi aloe! :D
4) favorite character you’ve written
illumina, hands down. he's. he's just a guy
also a bit more obscure but i liked writing from the player character pov from radio.Signal
25) copy/paste a few sentences or a short paragraph that you’re particularly proud of
- Illumina knows this—the way the dark feels, pressed against his spine; shivering, bright-eyed anticipation for monsters he’d rather not see; the bleary glow of a not-dream.
- If it were anyone else looking at Fruit like this—like he was someone worthwhile, someone to be taken care of—he thinks he would break apart their ribcage and leave them for dead. Illumina presses gently against the raised edges of bruises, and all Fruit can do is close his eyes.
probably those :]
