🎙️ Announcing our upcoming broadcast for Radio Trio Week 2024! 🎙️

This special program is being held from November 9th-15th, 2024! (credit for the lovely prompt art goes to the amazing @youlighttheskyart!)

This is a fan week event focusing on Alastor, Husk, and Niffty as a group! All types of dynamics for the trio are accepted and encouraged, including both platonic and shipping-wise, which you can explore through all types of fanworks including fanart, fanfiction, meta, and more! Honestly, I keep thinking back to the finale song when Alastor shows up and just immediately looks at Husk. First person he locks eyes with before turning away. He's being a little bastard about it but the fact that he looks at Husk first thing is noteworthy I think.

And then, even after everything, Husk still half-leans into the group hug with Alastor. Is it respect? Some hidden affection/friendship? Who knows really but he still welcomes back his boss after vanishing.

Also, being treated to this shot of them together singing. In close distance of each other. I think it means something. Everyone else has closing singing shots with people that are important to them, (Angel and Cherri, Charlie with both Vaggie and Lucifer, and even the Vees are shown together at the end) and I think this is the same. If it's not foreshadowing their relationship growth in Season 2, I am eating my own hat.

Also!! Can't forget Niffty is with them too! She's just a shortie, but she's with her boys! Beloved radio trio are together singing a hopeful song about the future.

I really, truly, sincerely hope we'll get some focus on these three together in the next season in some way, even if just for one episode. Even at the very end, they find their way to each other and I think that's beautiful.

What's the deal with Niffty?

Personal headcanon time:

What if Niffty is the way that she is because she died due to a botched ritual where she was to be the human sacrifice to call an entity to earth? What if human sacrifices just get sent to Hell on a mere technicality. Souls unbound from Earth, Heaven and Hell because they get bound to the entity their sacrifice was meant to call...The door to a realm of chaos magic wedged open just a crack by the poor soul that happened to have a very bad day. Doomed to get burned into nothingnes and become insane because this kind of power was never meant to be conduited through human souls in the first place.

How lucky if there are some crafty Sinners around that managed to funnel that power into other channels...

So what if even that is not enough sometimes? So what if it requires two people to syphon the overload if it all ineviteably becomes too much again?

We all benefit in the end, don't we?

Maybe the void has not yet decided to look back through that tiny crack in the fabric of reality. After all, what does it mean to an ocean if tiny drops manage to make their way into other realms of the cosmos?

I’ve seen people talk about how Alastor’s betrayal of Charlie and the hotel is going to negatively impact Husk, but I don’t think there’s nearly enough concern about what this could do to Niffty and their relationship.

Alastor can visually see Husk warming up to the other residents, but Niffty actually told him that she “really likes them” - she’s formed her own attachments, which is huge for someone like her who hasn’t made new friends in a while (according to the pilot).

Niffty is loyal to Alastor, and she’ll follow her bad boy dad boss to the ends of the pentagram, but that doesn’t mean she’s not going to get emotionally wrecked by being forced to turn on her new family.

Radio Trio Week - Past/Future

Summary:

Angel has to work overtime so Fat Nuggets needs a babysitter. Husk gladly takes the job. With Niffty wanting to befriend the little guy and Alastor craving a glass of wine, Nuggets suddenly has three people to pamper him, and the trio an excuse to lounge around like in the good old times.

Hello Charlie. What did you expect to see when you stepped out into the hall?

Was it your dads tilting one of the portraits back and forth between them.

Because that's what's happening.

Lucifer, the petty chaotic gremlin that he was, was wearing a cheshire shit eating grin as he moved the portrait to lean. And Alastor, who himself was a petty chaotic cryptid but also conversely was something of a perfectionist, was also grinning but glaring while doing so as he straightened the portrait back.

All the while, Nifty watched from her perch on the banister. Back and forth, like she was watching a tennis match, her eye followed the movement of the portrait.

... So that's a thing, isn't it?
