Uwais Al Qarni Rahimahullah

"When you meet him, convey my salaam to him and tell him to make dua for my Ummah.!"

Beloved Prophet peace and blessings be upon him said to his companions.

Regarding Uwais Qarni (rahmatullah alayh), Rasulullah ( صلى الله عايه وسالم ) said: "Uwais Qarni is the noblest of the Tabieen with ihsaan."

(The highest stage of ihsaan is to worship Allah Ta'ala as if you are seeing Him.)

"I searched for glory and I found it in humility. I searched for kingdom and I found it in admonishing people (i.e. giving them Naseeha, counselling). I searched for culture and found it in truth. I searched for holiness and found it in poverty. I searched for Nisbah and found it in piety. I searched for honor and I found it in contentment (i.e. contentment with whatever Allah Ta'ala has ordained). I searched for comfort and found it in zuhd (abstinence –renunciation of the world). I searched for independence and found it in tawakkul (trust in Allah)."

We are awaiting the month in which the Beloved ﷺ was born.

Allah poured His bounty upon the Ummah by sending them His Prophet ﷺ.

We should intend from now before the month enters to be means of goodness for others, to practise more of the sunnah of the Prophet ﷺ, to improve our character and to pray more for this Ummah.

This month is full of mercy and some scholars even preferred this month over the sacred months. Were it not for his birth, we would not have known Ramadan, nor the Hajj. In fact, we would not know anything.

The Three White Days

Three White Days of Fasting for Rabi al-Awwal 1442

Fri 30th Oct 2020

Sat 31st Oct 2020

Sun 1st Nov 2020

The Prophet (ﷺ) said:

“Fasting three days of each month is fasting for a lifetime, and ayyam al-beed are the 13th, 14th and 15th.” (1)

Abdullah Ibn Masʿud (رضي الله عنه):

“Welcome winter wherein blessings descend, and the nights lengthen for qiyam while the days shorten for fasting.” (2)

Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) said:

“My close friend [i.e., the Prophet ﷺ] advised me to do three things which I will never give up until I die: fasting three days each month, praying Duha, and sleeping after praying Witr.” (3)

If at any point you find yourself on the spiritual journey and you lack manners, know that you are not on the spiritual journey. If you find yourself religious, but your religiosity has led you to be unkind or to be less than loving or less than patient, then you are doing something wrong. Just like you see metal being transformed into gold in an instant, it’s the same thing that adab (good manners) does to the heart. Our greatest strength lies in the gentleness and tenderness of our heart. So it is therefore important that we try to adopt good manners and make it evident in everything we do. 

The Prophet ﷺ said, “The best amongst you are those who have the best manners and character.” [Bukhari]

A sign of good etiquettes is when you can help someone who can give you absolutely nothing in return. Blessed are those with good manners. May Allah give life to our dead hearts, through love and good manners to others.
