I was thinking about zelda lore again (it's been a while so forgive me for possible inaccuracies) but the child timeline of ocarina of time to twilight princess made me lose my shit because it's like. The thing about Jack's Izzy is that he was never supposed to be Jack's Izzy. It was supposed to be a temporary thing, to teach Ed and Sam a lesson, to escape their constant tugging at him to decide who he was going with. He'd been beginning to feel more like their favourite toy, a pawn in their endless stupid fight, than a person whose opinion they actually cared about. He tells them he hasn't decided, that he doesn't want to decide, but it goes over their heads every time, too focused on "winning" him.

So when it comes to it, after Hornigold's gone, after they've won, and they're asking him again before he's even had chance to clean the blood from his sword, let alone his hands, he just blurts out "Jack"

To say everyone's shocked is an understatement. Sam and Ed's shocked "What's?" are only drowned out by Jack’s own. It's not like he hasn't known the whole time he was never in the running, he hadn't even asked Izzy because he knew he'd just laugh in his face. He loved Izzy just as much as they did, but it was never the same for Izzy. He never had the drive of Sam & Ed, the passion, the potential. He was Calico Jack, too stupid, too immature, too much of a drunk to be a worthy captain. (never mind that Izzy had always seen through that cover, seen the way he used the act to keep himself safe, seen that he was never really as drunk as he acted, seen the way he played people to get what he wanted. It didn't matter. He wasn't Ed or Sam, and that's all that really mattered in the end)

Izzy sits firm in his split second decision, telling them that he's fed up with all this bullshit, and Jack's the only one who listens to him, so he's going with him. Jack's not stupid enough to question Izzy further, so they take one of Hornigold's fleet & a handful of crew who hold no loyalty to the other boys, and set sail before it has a chance to turn into another mutiny.

The thing is, Izzy never really intended to stay. His plan was to leave with Jack for a month or so, fucking around achieving nothing while his boys got their heads out of their asses, then go back once hes actually had space to make a decision, to decide who he wants to be, free of anyone else's expectations. Only, having Izzy there to impress makes Jack pull his act together fast. He's desperate to prove he's worthy of Izzy's time, cutting back on all the dicking around and making a genuine effort to be a worthy Captain for him. He's not perfect by any means, but they're actually doing ok.

And for Izzy, it's like someone's lifted a weight off of his shoulders. He hadn't realised it until he was away, but being with Sam & Ed had felt crushing towards the end, both of them expecting so much from him, wanting him to be someone who wasn't quite him, wanting him to help them build a legend. And maybe he wanted that, maybe he would love it in another life, but it's also nice to not have expectations. Jack never wants him to be anything other than himself, and it's been pretty nice, learning who Izzy Hands is. He thinks he might like the guy.

So it goes from there. A month passes and Izzy makes no mention of meeting up with the others. Then two, then three, and before long he's forgetting that he ever seriously planned to leave. He stays, and they make it work, together. It's not perfect, it was never going to be, but they have something that makes them both happy. And that's enough.

Vic’s visit to the Smosh office was short, but it showed them a lot more about the cast and crew than they ever expected to learn.

Like, how Erin orders coffee up to three times a day, and how Tommy spends multiple hours in one of the bathrooms. Or how Courtney and Shayne are the most professional and yet affectionate couple they've ever seen work together.

But there was something that went unspoken within the office: Amanda and Angela.

Sure, Vic had worked with both of them in the past, but the chemistry between the two in the office was unmistakable. Vic found themselves constantly looking around subtly in a ‘Is anyone else seeing this?’ kind of way whenever the duo was in the same room together.

Attached at the hip was an understatement. If they were beside each other, their bodies were always touching. Whether it was an arm around a shoulder or a waist, or hands intertwined, their skin somehow made contact. And if they weren't beside each other… well, heart eyes (and ‘fuck me’ eyes, if Vic's being honest) were frequently exchanged. Vic knew they worked well together on screen, but this was something else entirely.

When it came time to film the Try Not to Laugh episode, Vic watched as the pair steeled themselves for the cameras; like they put on masks for the audience. But throughout the video, the chemistry only ramped back up.

Vic could swear Angela was ready to pounce at them behind the partition after they kissed Amanda for the bit. It was a side of Angela they had never seen before—possessive, and jealous. The animosity cleared up quickly when they moved onto new bits, but it left Vic curious about the dynamic between Angela and Amanda.

They were so open about being so into each other, so surely everyone already knew?

When the day was over and they finished shooting everything Vic was scheduled for, they said their goodbyes and started packing up their things to leave. 

In the cafeteria, Amanda approached Vic with Angela trailing behind her.

Amanda’s question threw them off. Not that it was unwelcome—in fact it was flattering—but Vic considered themselves closer with Angela than Amanda. 

“Oh, gosh, no. I wouldn’t want to intrude. It’s really kind of you to offer, though,” Vic said, an appreciative smile on their face.

“Please, you wouldn’t be intruding. Angela talks about you so much.” Amanda playfully rolled her eyes and glanced back at Angela having a conversation with a few cast members. “Plus, we’ve been meaning to have people over to our new place, and we both love cooking.”

Vic felt time stop.

They tried their best to mask their surprise when they came to the conclusion that Amanda was inviting them over to her apartment with Angela. As in, they live together.

“Well… I mean… why not!” Vic answered enthusiastically, their demeanor mirroring Amanda’s own excitement.

Vic’s surprise slowly turned into acceptance as they recalled all of the interactions they witnessed at the office that day; the touching, the flirtatious behaviour, the closeness—it all made sense now. Not to mention the subtle positive changes Vic had noticed in Angela’s mood over the past few months. The realization made Vic feel giddy.

Amanda beamed at Vic’s response, and Vic watched as Angela approached her from behind and proudly put an arm around Amanda’s waist. 

Angela asked what they were talking about and all Vic could do was smile knowingly at the couple.

yes yes yes! like i can sometimes get somewhat into maledom character fics where the character is aggressive towards the reader, but most times they just dont do anything for me. and at the worst times, like when the male character is basically emotionally abusing the reader, i just feel a bit icky about them. i know it’s all fiction so it’s chill, and maybe we’re all ‘too woke’, but idc ! there are just times when im like damn:( it’s interesting to read about, esp if the writer is very passionate about it, but i can’t ever get into it the way i can get into femdom/sub!male character stuff.

no hate at all to writers who enjoy writing that type of smut, or readers who enjoy reading that kind of content, it just isn’t my cup of tea like 90% of the time ! we all have our own preferences. actually i’m pretty sure ive written some small blurbs where the m!character is dom and verbally degrades the reader, but its really infrequent nowadays. it’s sometimes fun to write about here and there, but i rarely find it hot lol
