Really appreciate that Yellowjackets had Taivan be canon from the beginning. BIO - tw- death, captivity, the usual apocalyptic pain and suffering

quinn has no memory of a life before the outbreak or what albany was like or the house she was raised in for the first few years of her life.

given the sheer population of new york state, it was incredibly difficult for the outbreak and infected to be contained by the military in those first few months post outbreak. there was no new york city qz set up, this was indeed one of the major cities that had been bombed in order to prevent the spread of the infection.

everyone in the smaller towns of ny were evacuated by the military - including the turner family in albany - a qz had been set up in buffalo, ny but that was too far for fedra, so the closest was hartford, connecticut

this qz was where quinn spent most of her life, and it was okay at first. unfortunately at the end of the world there's not much you can do to compare your situation to others but it didn't take long for the people of the hartford qz to realise the fedra here were corrupt.

fedra operated the way they wished in this city, taking whatever they want whenever they wanted it.

after years under the thumb of a corrupt governing body and martial law, a 'resistance' group of sorts began to spread throughout the qz. while it took them a year to orchestrate a plan the group managed to overthrow fedra and killed every soldier they could.

life without fedra didn't prove to be a better life, the group were almost just as ruthless as fedra and after they'd gotten the revenge they wanted they maintained a strict chain of command, seeking to punish anyone accused of colluding with fedra. basically, if you weren't with them, you were against them.

quinn felt their injustice, captured and locked up for 'crimes of her father and brother' which were never truly explained to her (they had died during the uprising).

she had to do what she could to survive and escape, she took advantage of in house fighting among the commanders who oversaw the prisoners and escaped.

travelling on her own, she wasn't looking to ever find herself in another qz until she was found by fedra officers near washington, pennsylvania, the closest qz being pittsburgh.
