It's everyone's favorite vampire slaying cowboy!! 🤠 I finished reading Dracula (1897) the other day, and no one’s surprised - he was my favorite while reading. I understand turning down the Asylum Doctor, but Lucy was absolutely off her gourd when she rejected Quincey P. Morris. What a man. Mr. Texas himself. Here's how I imagined him while reading. (Also there’s no way to tell from these drawings, but he is supposed to be the shortest out of all the guys 🙃)
I may draw more Dracula characters based on how I envisioned them if I have time! I hope all of you have a great new year!

Hellsing x Castlevania Fanfic idea
Julius (Morris-)Belmont joins the HELLSING Organization. Part one
Julie's Belmont spent the beginning of his 19th year of Life job hunting
the war of demon Castle of 1999, (which is only months away by his families calculation) left him no time to have a normal life training with vampire killer and how to survive vampire attacks was his primary upbringing Aside from his American School life
Right now he was touring England (more like , bumming it through) looking for a job fit and only 19 years old it should be easy. And he found exactly the one
Tumblr media
H.E.L.L.S.I.N.G.
Her
Royal
England
Legions and
Legitimate
Supernatural
Immortal
Night
Guard
More commonly known as the Royal Order of Protestant Knight.
It was a quiet organization in the Anglican Church funded by the monarchy itself as a way to protect itself from supernatural forces most people don't know about it for good reason.
As the son of the Union between the Belmont clan and the Morris family it was very easy to recognize what the organization meant.(it's highly secretive organization but MI6 was willing to point out a Belmont in London, and leave enough clues to point a Belmont to the organization.
One of the biggest clues to what the organizations true intentions and purpose was simply looking at the true founders of the org.
Jonathan and Mina Harker
Jonathan Stewart
Abraham Van Helsing
Arthur homewood.
Quincy Morris(Julius's maternal ancestor)
Technically Julius could potentially join as a legacy to one of the founders and make easy money as a shareholder however that's not why he was there.
Julius wanted the experience. And he would get it in the Hellsing organization. But first he had to go to the leader herself in order to apply seeing as he was pretty young

Sir. INTEGRA FAIRBROOK WINGATE (Harker~) HELLSING. Leader of the Hellsing organization.

You stupid mother fucker, You asshole arrogant fuck' Sir. Integra was beyond annoyed, Enrico Maxwell and A lot of those Iscariot really found a way to get on her nerve, But but alucard sending death threats to the Pope by carrier pigeon? That was just baffling.
Maxwell not a few minutes ago. (He had came to complain about the pigeons
She had stayed in that damn restaurant, reading all of bizarrely worded death threats the pope was sent..
She’ll give the man one credit. He knew how to write a death threat, A creative one. No two letter was the same.. She almost wondered jokingly, ‘was he the sole reason why the carrier pigeon industrie still survived? Preposterous.’
At that very moment, a new person had decided to make an entrance.
A man..
He looks rather young, couldn't have been more than early 20s...
The man
No, a more like boy walked in from the glass doors. interrupting her quiet contemplation of killing her own vampire.
His outfit was rather bizarre, compared to the Victorian cowboy of Alucard. Thiswas a regular cowboy, But for modern times giant coat.
The boy had a red bandana around his neck, really big cowboy boots, overcoat the dress vest All wrapped up in long brown dusty trench coat
how the hell did he get into this establishment?

Continued in part 2
Author's note (this is an outline I am trying to make for Tumblr )
But this is essentially three-part crossover between Bram stoker's Dracula, Hellsing and Castlevania
I am rewriting parts of the Hellsing Lore and Castlevania Lore that I don't care for (particularly Mina and her fate. Jonathan X Mina for life
Adding in Quincy's survival and his family continuing into the Morris clan
Making the Morris clan distinct from the Belmonts that acquired Vampire killer during the American Civil War) as opposed to being an offshoot.

One of the fun things about Dracula Daily has been watching tumblr discover that, oh shit, Dracula has this really fun and vibrant cast of characters in it that they never knew about because none of the adaptations bother to include any of the traits that make them memorable.  I imagine no one who hadn’t already read Dracula went into Dracula Daily thinking they’d fall in love with Jonathan, Mina, Lucy, Quincy, Lord Godalming, or Jack Seward because, you know, the adaptations have AT BEST had bland, forgettable characters who share their names, if not just cutting them outright.
Like yeah, draw fun fanart of Jack Seward painting his nails and Quincy Morris fully leaning into being the most cowboy-est cowboy to ever cowboy, it’s been over a hundred years and they’ve NEVER received the love they deserve till now, this shit is overdue!

[Image description: Seven uncolored drawings of characters from the novel Dracula.
1. Johnathan Harker is sitting down and looking at an open laptop on his lap. Next to him is a book with a bookmark in it.
2. Mina Harker is curled up in a chair, reading a book.
3. Lucy Westenra and Arthur Holmwood are sitting at a table. Lucy is reading a book and smiling. She’s labeled “(enjoying a nice Regency romance)”. Arthur has his head buried into an open book. He’s labeled “(Le Miserable)”.
4. Quincey P. Morris reclining in a chair, reading The 3 Musketeers.
5. Renfield reading on a Kindle with a mug in his other hand. He’s smirking and thinking “Oh, he’s going to hate this one LMAO”.
6. Jack Seward is lying on abed with his feet in the air and a phone next to him. The phone is labeled “New message (1) Renfield: is this u (1 attachment)”. Jack is thinking, “Can’t decide if this is better or worse than corn metaphor…” and is labeled “(listening to Herman Melville go on long tangents about the whale)”.
7. Abraham Van Helsing and John Watson talking over drinks. They are labeled “(met on the train to Varna)”. End description.]

[Image Description: A digital drawing of characters from Dracula sitting around a table with drinks in front of them. Abraham Van Helsing, Jack Seward, and Arthur Holmwood look disturbed. Quincey Morris’ facial hair and the style of the drawing make it hard to tell his expression. Jonathan Harker is pulling at his collar and Mina Harkerhas her arms around him. Both are sweating nervously. The piece is signed Gadzikowski. End description.]
I love this website because sometimes I just say dumbass things like “I think Dracula would be a good stripper.  I mean think about it.  The unaging beauty, the strength, the utter ability to hold everyone at a thrall and get people alone on a regular basis and have them pay him.” and have a bunch of people agree.
Sometimes instead I have a detailed look into the symbolism of a single bird with cited historical documentation.
I can never tell which I am going to get.

So, you'll recall that the novel is written as a series of journal entries, letters, and newspaper clippings, all of which have dates. The novel arrives to you from Dracula Daily on the dates they were written. This gives you the experience of the novel in real-time as the characters would have experienced it. So, the long period of time in which Mina doesn’t hear from Jonathon? And has no idea what’s become of him? If you’re reading the novel all at once, you don’t really experience that wait, that trepidation, that anxiety. You just go right to his next letter, and find out he’s actually survived and is out of the castle and in medical care. With Dracula Daily, you DO experience that wait in the same amount of time Mina would have. You have that same period of not knowing, and all the fear and worry that brings if you’re invested in the character. If you’ve read it before, and you know he’s ok, that experience is a bit diminished, but this is the first-time read for a lot of people, many of whom have only experienced Dracula from movies or cultural osmosis. So they don’t know that Jonathon is ok, just like Mina doesn’t. Same for Lucy’s drawn-out illness, and everything else. It makes it a much more emotional, drawn-out experience, and I think that’s what a lot of people enjoy about it. Bringing it back to this being many people’s first time, there’s also the fact that Dracula *is* a novel and it was written in the prose style of its time, and that can be very intimidating to a lot of people, especially if they’re not used to reading stuff that wasn’t written recently. They think it’s too big, or the language is too antiquated, and they’re not confident in their ability to understand it, so they just don’t try. I’ve been there with a lot of books tbh. Breaking it down into chunks makes it a lot more digestible for a lot of people and makes them more inclined to try it when they might have been scared away in the past. There’s also the group aspect. One of the things I loved most about my college lit courses was the class discussion. I got WAY more out of novels I read at college because I was reading them with other people and we shared our perspectives with each other. It wasn’t just that I understood the text better this way, it was genuinely FUN. Many people enjoy experiencing media as a group. I couldn’t tell you why, but we do. So there’s the added aspect of being excited or scared or upset or amused over whatever just happened---Quincy Morris being Stoker’s hilarious idea of what an American is, Bersicker the wolf actually being a good boy, Dracula yeeting the mirror, Lucy and Mina having sapphic subtext--and being able to log on to social media and see loads of people having the same feelings about the same stuff, discussing it, joking about it, analyzing it, making fanart. Honestly, the group aspect of the novel has been just as fun for me as rereading it, and, as with my college lit courses, it’s drawn my attention to things I never noticed before on my own. Finally, it’s just kind of fun to have a little surprise to look forward to. Like, you don’t know if you’ll get a Dracula Daily update today, and when you do it’s a pleasant surprise, and once you’ve read through it you get the fun of being on the edge of your seat waiting to find out what happens next. Could you just go look it up? Yeah, of course. But for a lot of people, that ruins the fun of Not Knowing, and that’s a big part of horror. TL;DR: - Having to wait in real-time enhances the emotional experience of mounting horror and anxiety, and allows us to better feel what the characters would have felt - Reading a small part every few days or so feels easier for a lot of people than trying to tackle the novel - It comes with a massive built-in fandom that you can enjoy that can also enhance both your fun and your understanding of the story - It’s fun having something to look forward to. Hope that explains it well! ^^
Could someone explain the purpose of Dracula Daily? I’m not saying that I disagree with it. I just don’t understand why you’d wait for each chapter when you can just read the whole thing at your own pace.
Idk if this matters, but I read the book as part of a college class on vampires.
