i am a little bit in love and have been for what is now going on 5 years. [for context, im afab, not openly queer] i swear she drives me insane like INSANE LOL. and. shes been dating and what is now common law married to my childhood sweetheart's oldest brother for 10+ years.

messy. ik. im not pursuing her. ive even avoided seeing her for 2 years. my breaking point? one too many times she's held my hand at a picturesque location, looking deeply into my eyes, telling me how much and exactly why she loves me (which, is alarming already on its own!) only to end it with "youre like....a cousin to me!" KILL ME.

she is so intense and notices and thinks about everything. EVERYTHING. fascinating, smart and sharp af. she embodies and looks like wind idek how to explain it. poised, cautious, steadily powerful. she knows who she is and what she wants. but getting a straight answer out of her is something else. she speaks like poetry. sometimes i love her for it, sometimes the lack of specificity makes me insane.

this summer was the first time i saw her after my absence to get over her, she was wearing this flowy linen white outfit, gold bands in her locs, delicate gold necklace and rings. i wanted to fall to my KNEES.

while catching up on the last two years, i told her i was queer. she told me she was too. and then she went on to tell me how her relationship (with the man who is my family friend) is going "well" aka falling apart. i asked my careful questions and got careful answers. then she says shes spending months in europe this spring. partner is not interested... n that i should come visit her while there. cant fucking breathe atp. i say maybe.

anyways. ive seen her once since then and had to put more distance between us bc she invited me over to bake apple pies. i like her too much and the fact that their 10+ year relationship is slowly falling apart is NOT GOOD for me to know about.

Currently reading: a thousand academic texts at once. Currently on queerness, disability and colonialism mostly, along with regular updates on long covid research. One day I'll read a fiction book again I guess.

Current obsession: Hades. I played so much in 2 days that I triggered a medical episode. I did manage to escape from the hells!!! And almost immediately was incapacitated for 4 to 6 hours (didn't quite reach the couch at first but I made it), 8/10 almost worth it. The writing is delectable. The voice acting is out of this world. Megaera has a vice grip on me. That voice should be illegal. She wants to whip Zagreus so much. Wish that were me.jpeg. Generally speaking I'm delighted by every single interaction. The game play is actually fun for me bc I don't get punished for failing, I get rewarded with more lore and plot! I also got really into the fighting strategies but I think it might be too much cognitive exertion for me atm. Very mad at this bc ideally I'd like to keep playing it more like it's my job. We'll see! Anyway I am so endeared by Zagreus. Teen bi boy of all times. Stick it up to the old people!!

BUT I'M TRYING, Y'ALL!! I'm trying to survive the best I can, and I thank you all so much for helping me and sticking with me during all this 🥰

Why are they your favorite? Billy - He's my favorite because he's such an interesting character with a relatable backstory. He had so much potential as a character and he's so deserving of love

Buck - Similar reason. He wanted to be loved so desperately by his parents, but he also has amazing character development from the little asshole he is in season one. It's literally like watching him grow up.

Do you have anything in common with them?

Well yes. I was also a little shit when I was younger and have trauma lmao

I headcanon that Buck and Billy are both bottoms but I kinda think the bottom buck headcanon might be true if you watch season 7 lmao

Straight Billy. He's very queer coded to me and I will never see him otherwise.

I think I just started having a crush on this girl and I was like, yeah it makes sense that I'm queer lol.

💚 - How many queer people do you know irl?

a good bunch actually! I feel lucky to have had a queer community at one point irl though that's no longer true. But most people i went to high school or middle school with later came out as queer so yeah.

💙 - When you first learned about the Queer community, did you immediately realize ‘That’s me!’ Or did you consider yourself a ‘really good ally’ for some time?

i was a good ally once I stopped paying attention to what my religion says, and I was watching movies and reading fics and shipping stucky and then i was like oh shit girlie!! you gay af!

💜 - What Label(s) Have You Identified With for the Longest?

Bi, though i am not feeling that anymore (think i might be a lesbian)

and then I thought I was genderfluid or bi gender but I say non binary now.

🧡 - How has the way you presented yourself (ex. Clothing, hairstyle, etc.) changed since you realized you were queer?

Instead of having loose natural hair, I have my hair in locs. I dont wear bras, i don't wear makeup, i changed my pronouns online, i try to not wear skirts. Just anything to not be hyper femme (though that's so beautiful on others) so i don't get too dysphoric

Hey Elle, I have no idea if this is your thing, but I'd recommend a little show called Our Flag Means Death! It's the story of how real-life pirates Stede Bonnet and Blackbeard fell in love (which they may or may not have historically) and it is, so, so, SO queer-friendly, in fact it was made FOR the queer community. It's such a breath of fresh air and a big ol' FUCK YOU to queerbaiting. The characters are great/funny and the romance is so good! I was obsessed with this show before I learned of KP :') Currently the show consists of a ten-episode season but it's been renewed (at the start of Pride Month which was definitely on purpose lmao)! If you're not into pirates, fear not, the whole pirate stuff is a backdrop to a character-driven story. Give it a try if it sounds interesting to you :D
