Monster Girl October (tarot deck) day 26: Queen Tera from The Jewel of Seven Stars as The Emperor card!

(I'm double dipping into Bram Stoker a bit with this one). The Emperor card implies power, responsibility, and the payoff of hard work. Queen Tera (aside from being a ruler) fits the card for her intelligence and planning ability to bring about her own rise from the dead through possession and murder! If you want to read it, the 1903 version has a far more compelling ending than the 1912 edit which changed it to a happy marriage ending due to controversy.

After reading it wholly, The Jewel of the Seven star is "Dracula but everything is solved by the power of friendship between the Victorian Lady and the Ancient Egyptian Queen whose she's maybe or maybe not the reincarnation". Lady Margaret Trelawney took a look to Queen Tera and she's like:"We have to try to reanimate her in the moder world, I'm telling you as I were her. Also, I just want a best friend". Bonus point: the whole main cast is elated to reanimate the Queen because she was the smartest lady of her time. They want to speak science with her. The Queen returns in the end? No (maybe maybe because in a quasi - horcrux style, she chose to die because her reanimation would kill Lady Margaret), but they all whish she returned to life very much and that awesome. 8/10 just because the characters aren't fleshed out as much as in Dracula

One of the many roadblocks that I think the Elden Ring fandom needs to get over is the belief that Gideon actually knew Marika's Will. Like, he's a pseudo-archaeologist. He high on his own self-importance but he sucks at finding accurate information about the past. And the esoteric narrative that he has crudely cobbled together has warped his understanding of the present. For evidence, look no further than Ensha, the grotesque Catacomb Saint inspired underling that he has guarding his door.

What does Gideon do even? He sits in his room and reads and sends other people out to bring stuff back to him. If there's anything I've learned from YouTube archaeologists (ok, mostly Milo Rossi), it's that documenting a site involves carefully recording the context of the objects that are found. Once you take an object out of its context then so much of the potential information that could have been gained is lost forever. If untrained people are collecting eyewitness accounts and reporting back, then information is lost in transit, or even worse picks up an unrecognized bias. Gideon doesn't even know how much he doesn't know at the time when he makes his judgement on the situation.

Gideon is literally placed as a mandatory roadblock to player progress as a way to say "Hey! Don't let yourself become this guy! Reject the influence of Gideon from your thinking!"

The brain rot is so massive I'm now considering a fire watchtower au set in France, either late XX century or on the first half of the 2000s. Where vampires are of course still a thing. Mizrak takes the job as a fire watcher for summer after a conflict within his church, following Emmanuel's advice to get away for a bit. Olrox is already there working for reasons I won't share in case I ever write this. They are separated by miles, of course, their towers spread apart as they start talking in the evenings before the sun sets using walkie talkies (Olrox is on night shift, of course). Job related convos that quickly get personal. Mizrak the fools starts getting attached, maybe out of loneliness over rarely seeing other people (except the ocasional hikers or the park ranger, who would be Annette in this AU), maybe out of other desires. Olrox irks him, yet there's a weird pull in there, something he can't quite describe. Annoying as much as it is comforting. A voice, nothing else, yet what a voice it is. He wonders what body it is attached to. He starts losing focus doing prayer, ears always alert for the static of the device, the call of his name. He pretends it's because he doesn't want to be distracted in case a fire starts spreading.

Of course they have walkie talkie sex at some point before ever seeing each other, too. Long talks as well, because the show barely has them interacting yet I think their chats would be oh so fun to write.

But of course, vampires still exist. Mizrak slowly notices there are weird things happening in the forest. Something is not quite right, not quite normal. Eventually, he figures out Olrox is not quite right either.

Castlevania Nocturne is such a short show. Why am I wanting to write such a character heavy fanfic when we barely know these men's backgrounds.
