What Hamlet Characters Would Do When They Encounter Shitty Drivers

Hamlet: Hamlet actually doesn’t drive. He’s driven around by the Danish equivalent of the Secret Service. He DOES have the authority to arrest said shitty driver if he so pleases.

Horatio: He would mumble a few choice words under his breath, but nothing much more. He has more important things to do.

Ophelia: She’d be pretty mad, but much like Horatio, she wouldn’t honk. She refuses to let a few assholes ruin her day. A middle finger is the farthest she’ll usually go.

Laertes: Has the unfortunate habit of road-raging. It’s something he’s working on, but he has no qualms about cussing out a bad driver and honking. Learn how to drive, bitch!

Claudius: Has the bad driver executed.

Gertrude: Scoffs at the audacity and exiles them.

Polonius: Practices meditation to regulate his anger towards the driver and encourages his kids to do the same. It doesn’t work, needless to say.

Rosencrantz and Guildenstern: Are the shitty drivers ^-^

Hamlet / Glenn Close as Queen Gertrude

This is actually my favorite of Gertrude's costumes from this movie, but I could never figure out where to put it. It seemed to have too much blue to fit in the month of white and too much white to fit in the month of blue (so I posted her other blue gown), and the other colors weren't quite prominent enough to put it in multicolored August. And so, that's what "Anything Goes December" is for!

The embroidery in this outfit just makes me drool--on the sleeves, on the belt, and on whatever you call this cape/coat garment. I'm fascinated to see that the color is actually much lighter than it looks onscreen. The effect is regal and jewel-like, almost like something from an illuminated manuscript or stained glass window.

Hamlet Cast Starbucks Orders 🫶

Hamlet: Venti caramel frappe with ungodly amounts of shots. Sweets for the sweet prince.

Horatio: Tall matcha latte. Warm in winter and iced in summer.

Ophelia: Seasonal (and specifically spring and summer) drinks! But her all-year is a peach iced tea lemonade :D

Laertes: He loves anything hazelnut! Will drink hot drinks in 100°F weather like a MONSTER.

Rosencrantz and Guildenstern: They get a cake pop each :3 and maybe some hot cocoa

Gertrude: Mocha, generally with oat milk. But honestly, she only like to feel and smell it. She subsequently gives it to Claudius.

Claudius: Gertrude’s mocha. But secretly, he hates coffee in general. He doesn’t have the heart to tell her that, so he hands it to Polonius behind her back.

Polonius: Gertrude’s mocha. Claudius tells him he bought it just for Polonius, and he never had a reason to question it :)
