Over the last several years my birthday has been a week-long celebration. My 30th was spent relaxing on a beach and partying in Aruba with my best friend, which ushered in the trend to always do something lavish for my birthday. I maintained this tradition with vacations and spa treatments over the years. However, things started to change when I turned 40. One, I was pregnant, and two, it was during the covid years, thus severely altering how I could celebrate.  Last year we took a trip to the Philippines as a 40th redux, and to give me much needed R&R since our move abroad earlier that year was pretty rough. It was an amazing trip, but it wasn’t the “all about me” birthday vacation I had gotten used to. Sunbeam had just started to ween off breastfeeding, so I was pumping for relief and doing my best to maintain her schedule while we were away. On our return home Sunbeam got sick in the airport leaving us quarantined in a tiny hospital room for 2 days with all our luggage, no wifi, cell phone service, or drinking water, and a toilet leaking all over the floor. But that’s a story for another time. 

This past birthday the realization set in that the old days of sipping champagne all day aren’t returning; but it’s okay because my life is evolving, and change is a natural part of growth. At first I felt the need to cling to my old bday tradition to hold on to my “bad b*tch” aesthetic. Being able to splurge on myself and luxuriate for several days made me confident and independent. However, now I’m in a place where trying to uphold those traditions along with my new responsibilities is much harder. It’s not impossible, but definitely requires a lot more effort and planning, which can feel like a lot.

So what does a good birthday look like now? Earlier this year we took a family vacation to the Maldives, and were planning a visit back west around the holidays, so traveling was not an option. I thought about what brings me joy now, as a woman with a family. Hearing the happy squeals of my child brings me life, so I opted to bring Sunbeam to an indoor play gym in the morning, since she’s still a little too young to really enjoy Disney.  We had the place to ourselves. Later that evening, my husband arranged for our nanny to come so we could enjoy the evening out. He planned a beautiful evening. We ate a 6 course meal in a private room at the top of a building with a breathtaking view of the city. I was all dressed up and felt beautiful. I thoroughly enjoyed spending the day with my family.

As my life continues to evolve, my birthday celebration has to take other factors into account. This encouraged me to reexamine my perspective on what makes my birthday meaningful, and embrace what comes with evolution. I’m grateful for the way my life is progressing and all the new experiences it brings, which makes these changes all the more welcome.

Now on another note….this birthday also indicated that an ex situationship has FINALLY moved on. I met my husband back in 2016, and with any new relationship it may take some time for ex lingerers to officially cut ties. But when I was done or over a person, I would totally disappear, they’d never hear from me again.  So when Hubby and I met, I may have gotten a rogue text here or there, but for the most part we just moved forward uninterrupted.

But there was one. An ex? Not sure you could call him that, it really never got that serious, so I’ll just say someone I dated briefly. This person would send happy birthday texts every year to no response. This shockingly went on for 6 YEARS. There were no other messages exchanged in between, because we weren’t in contact. But every year without fail I’d get a random text filled with bitmoji. One year the text came with 6 different Bitmojis…. I thought about responding a few times just to say I’m married, or I’m married and pregnant, or I’m married with a kid and don’t even live in the country anymore. But I couldn’t figure out how to bring that up with a happy birthday text, and also didn’t feel conversing, so opted for cold silence instead.

These messages were especially surprising because he was the “i’m so busy” type. He made it very clear he was suuuper busy with all of his goals, so he needed to be focused. He was the type that presented as if he had it all figured out, while he questioned my ambition. The reality was, we just had different goals. But somewhere between my mid twenties and early thirties I fully accepted that I wasn’t going to be everyone’s cup of tea, which allowed me to stay grounded and not take negative things men said to me seriously. It was usually them, and not me. I’m not claiming to be perfect, but I stand by that assessment. I also didn’t try to change anyone’s mind, so when our communication gradually faded, it was all good. 

At first, the birthday messages made sense, right?  We were cool, there were no hard feelings. So the first time I got a text after all communication completely stopped I responded “wow, I can’t believe you remembered, thank you”. The following year, “thank you!!!” But in 2018 I decided, I wasn’t going to respond anymore messages, to send the message, MOVE ON. But he continued, he sent birthday texts year after year, to no response. I was slightly amused, but more so confused. Like, what was the reason!?!  We weren’t friends. I’ll never know what his motivations were, but for the first time in seven years the birthday texts finally stopped. I think he’s finally got the hint and moved on, good for him.

Kaia’s bday wish for Cara

I didn’t wanna make this too long and theres more evidence of stuff between Kaia and Cara but this is the rundown.

Keep in mind during all of this Kaia was 18 and Cara was 28… While Cara has seemed to change her life around it doesn’t look like much has changed for Kaia based on her recent behavior

Let’s hear your thoughts about the doc and the stunts. I’d like to hear them.

Heyyyy, I was waiting until we got a first impression from it to post this (but I’ll make a more detailed one after I’ve seen it myself)

We have now confirmed that the only Freddie scenes in it seem to be from when we got the more recent Public push onwards, which is expected but only corroborates to the fakeness of it all (are you telling me you don’t have a single video of your child’s first 4 years??? Like, how is this believable?)

So, for whatever reason, we seem to have a clear timeline of events:

January 2020 - Louis releases his first solo album, dedicating it to his son that we have seen very little in the past years (he didn’t even know what Freddie was wearing on Halloween or what he’d wore on previous years). He also gets caught lying about spending F’s bday with him

Very soon after the pandemic hit and we know they weren’t together as Louis was quarantining in the UK and Freddie was with his fam in LA

It is during this that we see the Clarks mess up the first time (which I believe led louis to take on a more active role in BBG)

1. Briana literally set herself on fire during a livestream, claiming that Freddie was sleeping in the same house, which of course tabloids picked up on quickly, but Louis didn’t comment on it and things remained the same.

Late 2020 we got one bigger misstep from the Clarks

2. Boobgate, I could do a lengthy explanation on this later, but the result of the debacle was that louis came out as absent father who not only didn’t see his kid but also didn’t pay an adequate amount of child support (especially for a millionaire) leaving to Briana’s sugar daddy to buy even groceries for his son

Finally, what I believe solidified the shift in bbg we’ve seen, we have Freddie’s birthday in 2021

3. Fertility clinic sonogram: even non believers were confused by this one, and I have yet to see an alternative explanation other than that kid isn’t Louis

So we had 3 major mistakes that discredited the whole narrative (however fickle) they had set in motion, and I do believe louis needs to have a semblance of control in this mess and that is why he took the role of bbg pusher so far since Christmas 2021, culminating with the doc.

I will expand on louis’ recent actions and the doc later on, but I have some more timelines on this subject that I need to finish before!

(Also, the lack of beard content does seem very on brand for the new image, so I’m not surprised)

so i had this thing in the back of my mind that i wanted to share a little bit about, because i think it’s highlights a little bit of karlie’s easter egging prowess

so as many of you know, i have had a certain piece of jewelry identification that’s been top of mind for awhile. a mysterious (and hilarious) evil eye necklace that karlie first wore on her birthday last year, august 3rd, 2022:

it took a long while to identify but with the help of @kwyw and @corneliastvendor and input from many more, we diligently settled upon a match with the brand Mejuri.

…i dunno if you remember, but back at the beginning of the year @kwyw also pointed out that there was an extra connection, between this evil eye necklace and the amulette de cartier:

both talismans of Courage.

the amulette de cartier has its own place in kaylor lore (if it’s new to you you can read about that here and here and here). but, veterans of quarantine kaylor remember how this rep era necklace made a unique surprise appearance during lover/folklore era, ultimately coinciding with karlie’s 2020 pregnancy. which, given the symbolism of the necklace, i think made a lot of thematic sense… being pregnant during the height of a pandemic is scary and, speaking from experience, i as well found myself in search of things to give me that extra peace of mind.

so seeing the necklace have that Courage keyword connection, i couldn’t help but uhhh, have a feeling so peculiar. now, with the gift of more (celebratory) information, let’s take a look at all the times karlie has worn this necklace (*reminder that some of these may be a day off because of the big time zone difference between me and the US):

August 3rd, 2022 — (as pictured above) karlie’s birthday, she writes “cheers to new beginnings xx”

September 2nd, 2022 — this therabody promo, which many of us got a kick out of after midnights was announced, first because she mentions 3am (the name of the extra version of the album) and the word midnight and second because this tiktok is set to the tune of ABBA’s “Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! A Man After Midnight”

November 19th, 2022 — a post captioned friyay, notably, wearing a loewe shirt, the designer who she wore to the met gala

December 11th, 2022 — to a celebratory kode with klossy event for her young scholars

December 13th, 2022 — she wore it as part of several instagram stories she had up on taylor’s bday (thank you @kwyw for the reminder 😆)

December 18th, 2022 — she posted this the same day she posted the photos of her josh and levi at the ice skating rink (mikey and misha were there too) before heading to japan.

and then, at the met gala on May 1st, wearing loewe, she announces her pregnancy, and tells everybody that she is nearly 8 months along!

now, if we are to assume that she is 8 months along this may, we can count back ( 7mo along in april, 6mo march, 5mo feb, 4mo jan, 3mo dec, 2mo nov, 1mo along in oct, 0mo sept) and see how in order to have conceived in september, prep for that would likely have started in… yes, the month before. august! aka… when she first debuted the evil eye necklace!

and when you look back at all the phrases and contexts accompanying her posts with the piece, you can kind of see how the necklace works in concert with her setting her intentions, potentially celebrating milestones like finding out, telling people, hitting the 5 mo mark which is when the majority of pregnancies become more stable, etc… this is all to say, and this is just a simple thing but, i feel confident in saying that this necklace was in fact one way of her hinting at her next child, since all the way back in august 2022 ☺️ and since it’s an eye necklace? well, 😌 all the more nice of a feeling.

thanks for the tag... What's the weirdest plot bunny you've ever had? Bonus points if you never wrote about it

OOOOOH okay so I actually don’t think I have too many, because once I get an idea that I get really excited abt, I’ll write down the concept in my notes app and then start it asap, OR I’ll just do it in one sitting.

I’d say the most recent one that got published that I had thought about a concerning amount was the kuroo bday fic I wrote for 2023!! I got the idea and I had to start it immediately. It’s not a weird one tho I don’t think.

Currently I’m thinking of this one specific scenario for kaiser from blue lock that I really need to write, but again it’s not that weird…

honestly the weirdest ones I’ve had will never see the light of day because they’re. so extremely self indulgent back from when I was in high school. Peter Parker and PJO crossover with a self insert type of self indulgent. I wrote three versions of that during quarantine and never finished any of them LOL

(They’re still sitting in my notes app to this day and I reread them sometimes)

I also have multiple hyper-specific haikyuu fics sitting in my notes app from 2020-2021 that I’ve been debating giving snippets of on here. I’ll never finish them bc I personally don’t like writing the high school setting anymore, I usually stick to the time skip, but they’re a lot of fun imo.

i feel like every other birthday i have no idea what to do like ik its depression being like "whatever, doesnt matter" even tho deep down i get super bummed if i dont do anything nice on my bday

like last year i planned a whole trip to richmond and got a tattoo and ate my favorite pizza but the year before that i didnt plan anything and kinda just did whatever (i think i saw the bobs burgers movie) and it was like. ok. but the year before THAT i went to the aquarium and got a massive sushi boat for lunch and that was great. and the year before that i cried at home bc it was quarantine

anyways idk what to do this year does anyone want to come to my birthday party, its on a tuesday in june
