Synopsis: You're hanging out with Qiu at your house on a rainy day when you suddenly take notice of Qiu's fluffy hair

a/n: Takes place during step 2 keep in mind it's my first time writing- there will be mistakes and bad grammar /ᐠ. .ᐟ\ฅ

It's another uneventful day in Golden Grove, today was a rainy day and you found yourself in the warmth of your bedroom, laying on your bed staring at the rain droplets on your window, when suddenly you hear. . . ''AGH!! How is this level so freaking hard!?'' ah, yes...you almost forgot Qiu was here too.

You and Qiu hang out almost everyday, it's such a common occurence you've already exhausted all possible topics of conversation resolving to just doing your own thing in the company of the other without the need to say a word, not that you minded of course, Qiu was one of your favourite people, you could even say you had a tiny little crush on them but nothing big you know. .

While lost in thought your eyes suddenly fell on the back of Qiu's head, they were busy trying to beat a level of some videogame their parents gifted them at the start of summer, Qiu was so concentrated that they didn't even notice your hand slowly approaching them until they've felt it running through their hair.

They froze.

Qiu's hair was surprisingly soft! That's the first thing you thought, honestly you've always wanted to try touching it but Qiu always managed to slip away every time, you could hear a voice coming from the little console in their hands saying something among the lines of ''You've lost'' then you noticed Qiu had turned completely radio silent and their ears looked a bit red, then an evil grin started appearing on your face but you quickly turned it into an innocent smile ''Qiu your hair is so soft!'' then Qiu turned to look back at you with a pouty expression on their face ''since when did I give you permission to touch my hair?'' they didn't look angry though, but...flustered??

Oh. so this is the kind of game they wanted to play? Alright you dont mind a bit of teasing ''I can't? you didn't say anything when i touched it though'' you said poking at their cheek with your finger as they frustately stared at the wooden floor sighing in defeat '' I've never said that you CAN'T touch, but it would be nice if you warn me next time you know..'' they say, the last part was almost like a tiny whisper but you managed to catch it, noticing your eyes staring at them they decide to get back into their game, but this time laying their head onto the matress of your bed, suddenly you find yourself giving Qiu head scratches while they try to concentrate on their game, but by how red their ears are, they're not doing that good of a job, hehe~

Flustered Qiu is the best kind of Qiu, also im sorry if this sucks- I tried(╥ ω ╥)

Soooo...I was re-read a manhwa that I really like & there's a scene where the ML wrote a literature about his feeling for FL. I cried •–•… So now~! I can just imagine Qiu in step 2, writing about Rena & their feeling for her. We already know Qiu always writer stuf in their notebook ( idk how often in this step ). & it would be really cute if all the things they ever wrote about her r place separately from their's other notes so it won't ✨magically disappear✨ because it's very precious to them

- (It doesn't work out super well initially but they're trying, be nice)

- Qiu's also just. Super sweet when you're set to have a crush on them in Step 1

- Like, their word count almost doubles when they have a crush on your MC

- There's one part of the game where you can bring up your favourite colour

- On a friendship route (or if you're set to neighbours), Qiu will maybe make a short comment about something related to your favourite colour

- On crush? Qiu stretches so far to tie your favourite colour back themself. Your favourite colour is green? That's the colour of their jacket!!! It's black? Like their bike, did they mention their cool bike!!! It's white, [imagine this is in italics] the inside of their house (no, really)!!! [end of imagining this is italics]

- They're also set to have an arc about much they accommodate for others and how they go from over accommodation in Step 1 to no accommodation in Step 2 to finding a balance in Step 3

- Also, like, they do in fact go through gender identity issues. In fact, they spend Step 2 not quite knowing their gender identity fully

Okay so I'm aware that this is years into the future of OLNF but I've been thinking of how a possible proposal would go.

Mostly how Qiu would propose.

And came to the conclusion that it would be a scavenger hunt with their "lost" notebook pages (this time just deliberately placed) found at places like Qiu's hide out and the special place they mention in the prolouge that we will see in a step 1 moment.

Like MC goes on a scavenger hunt to find the papers and they all have hints on then where the next can be found until the last one has "Will you marry me?" written on it.

I had to share this thought with more people, so I hope this brings all the qiu fans some joy.

Also if you have any ideas how a proposal with Tamarack would go please share them!
