The Captains' Dance (Hehehooo)

Warnings: Fighting, fun times, swords, injuries, etc.

Pyre could only hear the clashing of swords. A rapier collides with a broadsword. They collide once more, this time only inches apart. The ferocity of their battle, the sparks of their magic, and the wounds on their bodies. Poinsettia stood firm against him. She pushed back, causing him to fall backward. As she wiped her cheek, she panted.

As he moves into a new attack posture, Poinsettia repositions her weapon. Her purple eyes met his red eyes. Two captains square off in a furious confrontation. She moved and attacked him once more. He tried to fight back, but she evaded him. The way their swords clashed, the way he slashed, the way she paried, the way he dodged, and the way she dodged... She was swaying her body as though she were dancing. She moved back in. This clash of swords felt like an intense dance between the two of them.

It didn't take the Queen of the Deep Seas long to pin him to a wall with her blade to his throat. He and she both glared. Their gazes were glued on one other. He clutched his blade pushing back on her blade, but her stance had him pinned.

"One wrong move and I'll call an end to our little dance right here." Poinsettia hissed as she gazed at him. Their gazes fixed on each other.

"I know you're not the type to deal with me in this manner." Pyre shot back. He grabbed his blade, ready to thrust her away. "You won't be able to give up the thrill of an equal fight so easily." Pyre reacted quietly. Poinsettia's eyes sparkled as she resisted his attack. However, he pushed her off and readied his attack again.

"Maybe you're right, maybe you're not…" Poinsettia prepared her assault position. She fixed her gaze on him as he huffed. He fixed his focus on her. "But I don't back down from a fight, either," Poinsettia stated calmly and chuckled. "Not until I win." Poinsettia expressed firmly. Pyre huffed as he studied her over. She was as worn out as he was.

"Well, then, I guess I'll just have to break your winning streak," Pyre replied. He was about to move his sword when he heard his crew yell to him. Poinsettia was distracted by her crew's calls as well. The storm was gathering, and Poinsettia cursed.

"I guess we'll have to come back and finish this another time." Poinsettia gave him a stern look. He returned her stare, his eyes slightly trembling as he examined her.

"Perhaps," Pyre said, feeling his brother draw him away. They were parted, but with the silent promise that they would meet again and resume the dance they had begun.

when I was a little kid at some point I got upset with my parents because I didn't have a crucifix in my bedroom and they did- I was like why do YOU get to be safe from vampires??? you're okay with me getting my blood sucked???? so we took a little trip to the catholic store but the one closest to us was run by a group of nuns that had been moved here from romania. I got a little baby pink cross and this sweet old nun was like 'aww, is this a baptism gift?' and I was like no. I need to be protected from vampires. and she immediately got SO serious and was like 'this is the best one we've got, you'll definitely be safe' and since she was literally from vampire land I was convinced she was like, van helsing. like the whole time my parents had been laughing about how cute my fear was but she literally Knew dracula and was taking my concerns seriously I held this over my parents for so long lmfao
