Chen Qiulin, Floating, 2008-2009

As I was trying to express the idea of utopia world that was promised by communist party when I was a child, I need some idea how to express it in the installation work.

I was inspired by the artist Chen Qiulin from her paper pulp sculptures "Floating", "My Thirty Years" and "Listening". For example, one piece of "Floating" is suspended in the air with thin wires, forming a contrast between heaviness and lightness. Therefore, I might use some material （say paper or cotton) to hang in the room with thin wires everywhere to create the floating feel.

Comfort (noun.): the easing or alleviation of a person's feelings of grief or distress.

Let me explain the scene a bit- I have something I'm gonna write with a similar scenario, but essentially MC (Atlas) is very protective over their friends in step 2 since it's a very sensitive time for both Qiu and Tamarack.

So this scene is the aftermath of MC fighting for Tamarack, getting in trouble with the school (and most likely their mother) and Tama comforting them. HOWEVER! This can also be taken as the scene from the day 2 comfort prompt I wrote.

Haldane, age 23

Middle child of Emperor Zhu and the Dowager Empress Norell, Haldane has never had high expectations for the life she will lead. She is entitled to the most luxeries in all of Qiulin, and yet there is a deep and painful longing for something more.

Adept at arts and literature, Haldane is perhaps one of the most well read people in Qiulin, and yet she is undersirable even to the most scholarly of suitors simply for taking after her mother with lighter features.

Qiulin: Petal in the Wind

A mysterious traveler from the Dragon Kingdom appears suddenly and insists on joining the party. He's a fun-loving slacker with no filter and a rather blatant affection for the Prince, as if Niall didn't already have a headache. For being so outspoken, however, he's quick to deflect inquiries into his personal life.

In battle, Qiulin is blisteringly fast; so fast, in fact, that he can increase the amount of actions he takes in one turn. This is especially useful because almost all of his attacks have luck-based components to them. He likes to live life on the edge.

Favorite things: The Prince, seeing new things, tea, cute guys, a hearty meal, the morning dew, the way the sun sets on the horizon...

Least favorite things: Stuffy old rich people
