Retinitis pigmentosa is one of the most common causes of inherited vision deterioration in humans. Because the disease is caused by genetic mutation, and because there is no cure, scientists consider it to be a good candidate for gene therapy, specifically gene editing – where a mutation can be corrected in target cells (in this case retinal cells) with molecular tools that replace the errant DNA sequence. And now, proof-of-principle experiments for such a treatment have been carried out in mice, with the animals’ vision being successfully restored. Notice the thin, degraded retina of an untreated mouse with retinitis pigmentosa (left), and the thicker, healthier retina with abundant photoreceptor cells (red) after gene editing (right). While many steps exist between these results and the clinic, the work provides hope that such a molecular fix may one day restore vision in patients too.

Angry Qin Shiyao:

Honestly, I love how Qin Shiyao always walks into the room at the wrong time 😂 and how Jinghua's all "tough front" until he realises that Shiyao is furious and starts beating him up. Spiritual powers or none, nobody can compare to the strength of an angry, jealous fiancée.

Update on the manhua translation: Yeah, yeah, I'm taking my time because I have other things to do in my life (obviously, like actually learning Chinese for example) and also because the stuff coming out of the translator is weird af so I would like to look into it a bit more. If I don't manage, I'll probably just tweak the translation and add some other snappy comments from Jinghua (although the original is boss).

Duanmu Xi was 100% low-key jealous of Jinghua’s new-found relationship with Shiyao, and you cannot convince me otherwise. That tiny little smile when Jinghua is eager to spend time with Xi... Adorable.

Also, Xi is a speedster huh... Guess that punk aesthetic wasn’t for show, haha.

Me being me, I have been watching Ling Qi in the Chinese language from the first day. But when episode 10 was released, try as I might, I could not find the Chinese one anywhere! Attempting to watch the Japanese version was a pain in the *ss, not because of the language (don’t get me wrong, I take japanese too), but because I can’t tell who is who! I went on Google to look for a list of names in both lamguages, but after 30++ minutes of searching, I found one... but it’s only for SEASON 1!!!!! Thus the birth of this list.
