I haven't eaten in at least 18 hrs and I know I need to but there isn't anything in the fridge that I'm okay eating and I just keep spiraling and I literally don't have anyone I can turn to and I tried with the person who should care about me unconditionally but she's treating it like a nuisance and I want to fucking kill myself and mutilate my body until I'm completely unrecognizable and I tried to say that and she didn't even care and I'm trying to communicate but she doesn't understand and I need to contact someone not just shout into the tumblr void but I'm scared to contact helplines I don't don't know what to say and there's nobody I feel comfortable reaching out to and I want to post this privately bc I know people will feel obligated to help and I don't want that so I don't want people fisding it and proving that people care bc the only people who will find it shouldn't be the ones that care about me but also I'm terrified that they won't find it and prove that no one does care about me and I'm sitting on in a semi public space but can't move to a spot where I'm safe bc I don't know where the pocket knife is but also I'm in a kitchen so there's actual knives and the only reason I haven't done anything is bc I'm putting it all into this post but I need someone to see the post but I can't post it bc then I'll stop putting everything into it and I know I'll edit before I post and I need to just do something that'll help but I don't know what to do

Decided to do a silly lil doodle of my favorite Dopple-trio! :D on the surface I feel like this'd be a daily occurrence. Kale is the most normal of the 3 of them, but I wanted to draw her and Paps having a cute lil conversation. (More ideas below the cut!!!)

Pretender regularly interacts with humans (his disguise slowly recovers, and he continues to mostly abstain from his old habits) and usually appears as "human" as long as he's out. Sometimes in public I feel like ppl would be willing to talk to him, and he's always quick to make it clear that to get to his family people would have to get past him. (Also I think in their neighborhood/town everyone gets increasingly confused because he regularly goes, "Yeah, that's my Kid" some days abd other days he's like, "That's my little sibling" and it's just that he's her guardian and the terms are kinda interchangeable because it's easier to use them than explain the whole situation lol)

Pretender also has no sense of fashion. He's always so close to a neat outfit then takes the wrong turn before he exits his closet lol.

Paps stays in skeleton form (at least for the first few years) even tho it's dangerous, because his human disguise is awful and makes K uncomfortable. Instead he trains genuinely with Undyne and Tender to properly figure out a human shape over about 4 years. Eventually he does have a human disguise, but he's contented in his monster form too.

K I can't say a lot for (beloved @oodlesndoodles is who designed/owns her!) But I'm pretty certain that she'd probably still wear her one monster-style outfit sometimes if only to show her solidarity with her family, or just to mess with people on the streets 🙏

Last Notes: Human!Pretender is one of my favorite blorbos ever to doodle! His hair texture is probably the most satisfying thing ever! Paps keeps miraculously looking good for this AU??? Do y'all think sometime in the mid-90s there was an Unsolved Mysteries about Will (and Hawkins). The Party is obsessed with it (they like to point out the inaccuracies) but it mostly gets forgotten by the general public.

Then in the mid-2000s they go over "The Strange Town of Hawkins and The Mysterious Vanishing of Will Byers" on Buzzfeed Unsolved and that picks up and every horror/true crime podcast is covering it, and 45 yo Will is like "are you fucking kidding me?" and Mike thinks it's the funniest thing.

I'm still seeing a lot of angry takes in the tags about how excessive Watcher's current costs are and how all fans really want, apparently, is "just shane and ryan sitting in a basement" back again. While I do think Watcher is probably spending over budget and that's a real issue, a lot of the takes I'm seeing show a fundamental misunderstanding of how video production works and where costs actually lie. So a few quick things that I just keep seeing that are bothering me:

It was never just Shane and Ryan in a basement. BFU did a great job selling that conceit and making sure you never saw anyone beyond them and maybe TJ, but they absolutely had other crew members with them on ghost hunts and they didn't do all the work on BFU themselves. This Q&A from Season 2 lists 36 people on staff for Buzzfeed Unsolved. It's fair to make arguments that Watcher may or may not need 25 people, but those arguments should not be coming from a place of "before it was just Shane and Ryan and nobody else."

If you don't know how many people are needed to make a professional video from a TV/film standpoint, you will not have a reasonable grasp of why Watcher wants to keep 25 people on staff. Sure, some YouTubers get by with a ring light and a contracted editor. The Watcher team have stated repeatedly that they do not want to work as just YouTubers and see themselves more as a production studio—so why do people keep referencing the YouTube model to understand their business? This is like asking the local shake shop why it doesn't function like the kids' lemonade stand down the block. The item category is similar but they're not trying for the same products or process.

The "gold dusted food" is not the big budget sink you think it is. On most TV shows I've worked on it's normal to partner with businesses that are shown onscreen and work out a deal where the price of the product (in this case the gold food) is reduced or eliminated in exchange for the free publicity. Watcher very likely made a deal with every restaurant it worked with to make the Korea trip affordable for the company. The real budget spends are on things you're probably not seeing but that still matter: camera and lighting equipment is expensive, insurance for that equipment is expensive, business overhead and paying your staff are expensive. So again—it's fine to critique Watcher for the streaming plan and the perceived budgetary issues, but go into this knowing the costs might not be coming from the things you see onscreen.

My source is that I work in TV and film and actually have a clue on how the industry functions. Again, 36 people worked on Unsolved (and those were the people mention in Season 2—who knows how big the team blew up past that in later seasons). Entertainment work is real work, and demands decent equipment, competent staff, and the same types of business and budget problems you'd find in any other business (overhead, staffing, etc.). Feel free to critique Watcher's business model, but first try to understand where that model is coming from and what goals it's attempting to serve.

On the historical front, we previously established that mathematics didn't stop during the Edo period. Accountants and engineers were still in demand, but these weren't necessarily the people who were making sangaku tablets. The problems weren't always practical, and often, the solutions were incomplete, as they didn't say how the problems were solved.

There was another type of person who used mathematics at the time: people who regarded mathematics as a field in which all possibilities should be explored. Today, these would be called researchers, but in Edo-period Japan, they probably regarded mathematics more as an art form.

As in many other art forms (Hiroshige's Okazaki from The 53 Stations of the Tôkaidô series as an example), wasan mathematics organised into schools with masters and apprentices. This would have consequences on how mathematics advanced during this time, but besides that, wasan schools were on the look-out for promising talents. In this light, sangaku appear as an illustration of particular school's abilities with solved or unsolved problems to bait potential recruits, who would prove their worth by presenting their solutions.

Speaking which, we now continue to present our solution to the "three circles in a triangle" problem.

Recall that we are looking for two expressions of the length CN.

1: Knowing that ON = b and OQ = 2*sqrt(qr), it is immediate that QN is the subtraction of the two. Moreover, CQ = r, so by using Pythagoras's theorem in the right triangle CQN, we get

2: We get a second expression by using a cascade of right triangles to reach CN "from above". Working backwards, in the right triangle CRN, we known that CR = r, but RN is unknown, and we would need it to conclude with Pythagoras's theorem. We can get RN if we know SR, given that SN = SR+RN is known by using Pythagoras's theorem in the right triangle SON, with SO = 1 and ON = b. But again, in the right triangle CRS, we do not know CS, but (counter-but!) we could get CS by using the right triangle PCS, where PC and PS are both easy to calculate. We've reached a point where we can start calculating, so let's work forward from there.

Step 1: CPS. PCQO is a rectangle, so PC = OQ and PS = SO-OP = SO-CQ = 1-r, therefore

Step 2: CRS. Knowing CR = r, we deduce

At this point, we can note that 2r-4qr = 2r(1-2q) = 2r*2p, using the first relation between p and q obtained in the first post on this problem. So SR² = 1-4pr.

Step 3a: SON. Knowing SO = 1 and ON = b, we have SN² = 1+b².

just finished binging all of their true crime episodes so why not honestly.

(Danny has been mistaken as a cryptid multiple times throughout his adventures through time. One of these instances being the Mothman.) Danny's posts makes repeat appearances in the post mortem and Q&A episodes jokingly saying that "he's talked to the ghosts of the incidents and has it all figured out." and lays out the genuine reason behind the supernatural occurrence or mysterious death of a person. After regularly appearing in the Q&A, they do a Supernatural episode on the mysterious hauntings of Amity Park. Most likely chalked up to mass hysteria or something for the scientific reasoning behind the mysterious ghosts. in the next Q&A, They figure out that the person behind the CelestialGhoul handle is in fact Daniel Fenton, the son of Jack and Maddie Fenton, owners of Fenton Works and creators of the mysterious "ghost portal" which Shane thinks is a load of horseshit. Danny talks about how his Parents were really bad with lab safety and corrected some minor mistakes that the research team of BUN didn't catch. He offered to be interviewed by Ryan and Shane at any time that their schedules can match up. Danny was quite a character and the fans loved his appearance on the show. He was a believer in the supernatural but denied the existence of ghosts in almost every location that Ryan and Shane went to. He cracked jokes with the ghost hunters and seamlessly fit into their dynamic. He was the perfect middle ground. He was bold and brazen like Shane and yet was a believer like Ryan. Danny went on and talked about his parent's terrible lab saftey, the various ghosts that haunted his town, The constant damage the City endured, how this was simply the norm in his hometown, shitting on Ryan for believing that holy water did anything towards ghosts or demons, and the Anti-Ecto laws. (Ryan tried to use these to rub in Shane's face that this was proof that ghosts existed. His boast was quickly swatted down by Shane who countered that the United States also spent billions on UFO research so the Government was just a load of idiots.)

Shane and Ryan get a tad worried on the sanity of this random guy online that they invited to get interviewed on their show when he starts pulling out various ecto weapons and gadgets. He quickly puts them away to their relief and mentions that they were just replicas (that was a lie).

It's a fun episode all in all, more discussion and funny bits ensue and after it was uploaded, fans demanded to see more of Danny. To their surprise, They indeed would see more of Danny Fenton as a crew member for The Watcher.
