There was a noticeable ichor trail behind her, leading who-knows how far. ''H3lLo!- s0rry for tH3 mess!- I'Ve heaRd ab0ut you gUys and just H4D to see for mY5elf-'' (Hello!- Sorry for the mess!- I've heard about you guys and just HAD to see for myself-) She looked at the two, recalling something. ''I'd aL50 Like 2 Thank yOu for Kn0cKing some sen5e into Dandy.. well uh- MY Dandy.. n0t the ye11ow one I heard a8out-Al50 DoNT minD the- uh..'' The four toons were interrupted mid conversation, first annoyed Tisha glared at the new toon before her expression turned to one of pure concern as she spoke. "DEAR GOD WHAT HAPPENED TO YOU!?" She'd walk over to RDM! Vee and held her face up to inspect the damage. The other three followed quickly after. "What-... how- how are you even alive!? SHit, let me see if I can heal you in any way." Cosmo added to Tisha's comment. Boxten stood behind him at a loss for what to do or even say in this situation. "You're telling me that damned rainbow bastard that tried to flirt with me had something to do with THIS!? THE IDIOT COULD'T STAND HIS GROUND FOR A MINUTE." Shrimpo stood near a door, glancing between it and the others, maybe he wanted to go finish the job. "Shrimpo that's because not EVERYONE is a trained martial artist. Now go make yourself useful and find me some bandages." Tisha said while still holding onto Vee firmly. Cosmo nodding to her statement. Boxten walked over to Shrimpo before he had the chance to leave, whispering something along the lines of ("Whatever you do don't let... her know.") Shrimpo nodded, then left without another word.

Best Book You’ve Read So Far in 2021? Oh no so many good ones!! Totally obsessed with Murderbot, so I'm gonna go with Network Effect by Martha Wells!

Best Sequel You’ve Read So Far in 2021? (I'm gonna try Not to answer Murderbot for all these, even though I really want to (and Artificial Condition was amazing!!), so:) The Galaxy and the Ground Within by Becky Chambers was a lovely end to the Wayfarers series!!

New Release You Haven’t Read Yet, But Want To? I have been waiting for K. Ancrum's Darling since literally the PW announcement years ago, and it's coming to me SOON. (Friday. Tracking says: Friday.)

Most Anticipated Release For Second Half of 2021?  I'm also super stoked for The Past is Red by Catherynne M. Valente, and preordered it back in....October......

Biggest Disappointment? ...oh, no, this one's a tie, too?? Uh. I really wanted to love The Gutter Prayer by Gareth Hanrahan, which had fantastic worldbuilding but....that was about it. I also had very high hopes for What Big Teeth by Rose Szabo, and was, likewise, let down :(

Biggest Surprise? So, it shouldn't've been, because I love Gideon and Harrow, but I was surprised by how much I enjoyed Princess Floralinda and the Forty-Flight Tower by Tamsyn Muir? It was definitely Different but also very excellent!

Favorite New Author? ...turns out I've read a lot of books by authors who I already know I like so far this year lol. So: Martha Wells!

Newest Fiction Crush? (I am Very Ace and Very Aro and have a Weird Relationship with the idea of Crushes so it mostly ends up "BEFRIEND ME?!" but!:) I really want to be friends with Murderbot and ART!!! And all of MB's humans tbh.

Newest Favorite Character? Are we shocked that it's Murderbot.

Book That Made You Cry? Both the books that have Gutted me so far this year have been Small (unfair): To Be Taught, if Fortunate by Becky Chambers, and The Only Harmless Great Thing by Brooke Bolander.

Book That Made You Happy? (It's still Murderbot. In my defense: I did read six (6) MB books this year). The House on the Cerulean Sea by TJ Klune really was a very fluffy hug of a book!

Favorite Book Adaption You Saw This Year? Gotta second what Riley said--SHADOW AND BONE! I just reread Six of Crows at the beginning of the year, too (heisty book prep!!), so it was Very Cool to see the Crows specifically on screen. (Honorable mention to SWEET TOOTH, for having so many things that are Exactly My Jam!)

Favorite Review You’ve Written This Year? So I just realized books I LOVE get Very Short Reviews, while books I have Beef With get Very Long Reviews lol. My Gutter Prayer review is most thoughtful; my All Systems Red review is "I would die for Murderbot, and every time it called them "my humans," I started to cry. Five Stars."

Most Beautiful Book You Bought So Far This Year? Sorrowland by Rivers Solomon! The longer you look at it, the cooler it is!

What Books Do You Need To Read By The End of The Year? Oh, dear, So Many!! Uh. Actually HAVE to read, definitely, includes Little Red Riding Hood Uncloaked by Catherine Orenstein (for NaNo prep!) and Dead Astronauts by Jeff VanderMeer (which I'm in the middle of presently). I'd also very much like to read The Wolf and the Woodsman by Ava Reid, The Disordered Cosmos by Chanda Prescod-Weinstein, Road Out of Winter by Alison Stine, and I'd LIKE to try Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell by Susanna Clarke! Plus, y'know. Whatever catches my eye when it's time to build my little monthly mini-TBRs lol.

Hiii this blog is about my AU called Pebble's World (PW), To cut a long story short, Pebble becomes twisted and Dandy f dies, They are separated into teams of 4 and have to find a way out

You can ask questions to all characters (excluding Dandy and Pebble for obvious reasons) but for now these are the only characters with an official design:

The characters are divided into groups of 4 which are:

2. Toodles, Tisha, Sprout and Glisten

PW! MAIN TWISTED ABILITIES minus Poppy because she needs her own post to describe everything-

Currently the only twisteds to exist in the au are the mains, and Poppy herself. They're under her full control... mostly. The twisteds have moments of "clarity" when they regain their autonomy and memories of the past, while in those states they're harmless to anyone but themselves. Note that because of this, THE TWISTEDS ARE AVAILABLE FOR ASKS! I'll go ahead and put a TW here bc the twisted designs are GOREY (and goofy). Have fun reading (or don't, I can ensure anything)

ok twisted abilities as follows Boxten:

Like shelly he gives confusion 1 to the entire team. But when starting a chase against ANYONE the debuff grows to confusion 3 for 10 seconds.

Plays loud distorted music box music to disorient toons and cover up footsteps of himself or any other main

Shrimpo

Unfairly long attention span (8-10 seconds)

Able to break down any barrier that isn't a wall under certain circumstances (like someone just got behind it).

Tisha

Gains speed for every machine that's completed on a floor (gained speed depends on the number of machines on the floor, there's no known limit to how much she can gain)

Her hearing radius is so wide she can hear a failed skillcheck from almost anywhere on a map unless she's in a faaaaaar corner)

Cosmo

Starts off idle, starts roaming the map after a player activates him by either setting off one of his traps or getting too close to him.

Traps take the form of puddles of ichor scattered all over the floor.

Blind/ impossible to distract. You just have to avoid him.

Toodles

Basically Pebble but really small and really quiet.

Short attention span and average seeing range.

shizuku applied for employee discount on phenny plushies for shiho. thats the only reason really (shiho is all #emo /hj because of the lack of leo/need regroup still so shizukus trying her best)

akito just needed a job and pw was the only place that hired him LMAO

u & rui requested to be put in the same section (for shenanigans) and the pw runners were making a last ditch effort to try and monetize the wonder stage (as per emu’s request, even though she herself is busy with hopeful*cosmos so she can’t participate) so they just. all got shoved in there

shizuku’s like “cool ! i kinda missed the stage anyways so this is basically being an idol but without the idol part :D” (she quit cheerful*days or whatever before the story begins)

akitos like “really. i really have to be a THEATER KID.” (he does it anyways he needs money)

you and rui are happy about it thats all more i got for you two lol

akito and shizukus dynamic would be so funny. he cannot believe that there are older sisters that act like this

i made the executive decision that the cotton candy part was brought up by akito sarcastically bc of your hair and youre like “omg we SHOULD put that in our name we all like cotton candy”

i do think thered be an event idea where its like. all the leo/need members reconcile and share what theyre up to now ?? maybe after hopeful*cosmos gains attraction theyre like “hold on. saki????” and shes like “lol i tried to get your attention but you didnt notice me when i got back”

ichika goes to kamikou’s night classes like ena (she got all #emo /hj about leo/need breaking up and still seeing shiho and honami in the halls and her parents were like Fine. you can go to kamikou. and she insisted she take night classes just in case)

ena goes to miyagirls now because literally EVERYONE ELSE IN VIVID NOTE GOES TO MIYAGIRLS so it wouldnt make sense to me if she didnt

i was thinking about switching haruka to kamikou to avoid. minori and saki being her fans but shes fine they die down eventually

ena and airi are still friends! and ena and an are friends somehow i havent worked out the logistics of determined dreamers
