HAPPY NEW YEAR,” Whitebeard's crew shouted.

Ace was in the corner holding his breath as he watched his lover count down with Marco and the rest of the crew. He waited for her attention to turn to him.  He wanted her to look at him after all New Year was the time when lovers kissed right when the ball dropped. He heard from Sabo that lovers usually shared a kiss around the ball drop.

She turned to him, her attention to him, he lost his breath, taking in how beautiful she looked. She looked amazing, beautiful, like an angel. As the fireworks behind her created the perfect backdrop, the lights looked like a halo. He noted how her cheeks were tinted pink, she was blushing he assumed she heard the same rumor. Or maybe Sabo planted the idea in both their heads getting tired of waiting.

Ace slowly opened his arms, she understood his request, she understood what he wanted and walked to him capturing his lips. Ace could feel his heart hammering hard in his chest, as he kissed her lips. She tasted exactly how he imagined she would taste, of her favorite fruit. He wrapped his arms around her waist taking in how warm she felt in his arms. His other hand tangled with hair as he was eager to deepen the kiss and hold her close.

How she curved in his body, how warm she felt like the perfect puzzle piece just meant for him. They had to break away for a bit, panting, their breaths mingled together. He smiled at the woman before him, taking in all her features and loving how beautiful she looked. His heart was still hammering hard in his chest.

“Happy Birthday,” she finally said. “And happy New Year, I hope you get everything you want,”

Ace smiled at her as he sat down on a chair and pulled her onto his lap. “I already did,” he told her.

Sanji was counting down till the ball dropped, he wrapped his arms around her waist holding her close as he kissed her finger. His heart was beating hard in his chest he wanted to share a kiss, a special kiss with the woman he loved the most. New Year was a time for that, a time for sharing and celebrating together. Next to Valentine’s Day, New Year's was his favorite holiday as it was a romantic holiday between lovers.

“Are you ready to share a kiss my beautiful swan?” He questioned his lover kissing her fingertips. She had such beautiful hands. The hands he wanted to protect he took how beautiful her features were as she stared at him blushing. She was the most beautiful woman he ever laid eyes on. Most women were goddesses, but she was the most beautiful goddess even before him.

He would pray to her every day, she deity sent from heaven to him, and he wouldn’t want to lose her. He locked fingers with her and glanced away feeling his hot gaze on her. He wrapped his arms around her waist pushing her close to him as everyone was counting down the final seconds of the year.

He moved himself closer to her, their breaths mingling she glanced away shyly. Sanji tilted her head, so she was looking at him he didn’t want his goddess looking away from him. Her eyes should only be on him.

“I love you,” he told her. He watched as her eyes widened and he couldn’t help but chuckle.

The party was great as Shanks was dancing with his beautiful lover holding her close. The beautiful orchestra music played softly in the background as he held her waist, he was grinning from ear to ear and held her close. 

“You know you are the most beautiful woman here,” he told the woman as he spun her around before capturing her hips. He knew the old tale about kissing when the clock changed but it was difficult sometimes when his lover was perfect, she was. He wanted to kiss her every day. He wanted to kiss every night before he went to sleep and start his morning with a simple kiss as well. He couldn’t imagine life without her.

“Are we still going to share a kiss at midnight?” his lover asked shyly and at her titled her back and kissed her temple.

“You already know that I wouldn’t miss a chance to kiss you,” he told her. He wouldn’t even dream of it. She made his heart hammer hard in his chest. He dreamed of going on adventures with her, exploring the world with her.  He wouldn’t let her out of his grasp. 

The bell chimed as they were getting close to midnight Shanks still continued dancing with his beloved as he danced with her slowly his movements becoming slower as moved both hands on her waist and pushed her closer to him.

IT’S OFFICIAL

hey everyone! i am back. long time no see and all that.

remember how i wrote Spark Plug, the kaminari angst fic that totaled 140,101 words at its completion? remember how i really like writing angst and how, since that fic was published, i’ve been working on a bakugou-centric angst fic that i’ve promised will be even worse (better)?

it’s happening!

this fic has been just a little bit insane for me. i’ve outlined it, and outlined it, and outlined it — i have five separate outline documents for this and up until the most recent, none of them seemed to click right. but i kept working, and i’ve been working on it since january of this year. and finally, after all that hard work… i’m going to start writing it real soon.

i tried publishing what was then the first chapter of this fic a few months ago, but after several failed attempts that never seemed to feel right. it is currently on AO3 titled “Combat Fatigue”, but will be going away shortly before i post the new fic (that will bear the same title).

i am not sure when the first chapter of this will come out, nor am i sure how frequently i’ll be able to post following that chapter. i’m beginning a new semester of college soon, this time as a creative writing major — there’s no doubt in my mind that my classes will make it a touch difficult to write fic consistently, but please be reassured that i love this fic and i am so excited to write it.

thank you all for your patience and bearing with me as i try to put together the puzzle that is this fic. it won’t be what it was initially, and many details have changed since the beginning outline (so those of you that may have been in on it before, you’re not anymore). i’ve kept most of the details of this fic relatively private, and i intend to keep it that way so the audience is able to feel the surprise and intrigue that i intend to evoke. note though that this fic will still be heavier than Spark Plug ever was, and it will also be much longer as there are many more aspects to deal with.

though i will likely leave this information in the notes when i post the first chapter, i would also like to inform my audience members of a few things:

if you choose, you can read it in the same universe that Spark Plug takes place in. there are enough parallels between the two that it fits. note though that this takes place a while before Spark Plug, and that (since i wrote SP first) all of the minor details may not line up exactly. please use your suspension of disbelief regarding these details.

i will not be tagging all of the warnings involved in this fic. after the first chapter (since the end notes in chapter one move) i will be placing content warnings in the end notes as i did with Spark Plug, so that those of you with sensitivities can be a little more at ease. please know, however, that this fic is quite a bit heavier than Spark Plug, and i intend to avoid spoilers as much as possible. it will be your responsibility to read these notes. again, i will not be putting content warnings in the tags.

it will have a happy ending. this is something i’d hope most of you know about me by now — i will put you through a terrible amount of angst and suffering, but i will always balance it out with fluff and comfort, and i will always give you a happy ending. there will be pain, but there will be joy, too. don’t worry.

this fic is going to be long. my initial outline of Spark Plug was 34 pages, and the final outline was 47 pages. the fic itself was 257 pages and 140,101 words. this fic’s outline is starting at more than double the initial SP outline — 78 pages. it will be a long fic. prepare yourselves for that.

i think that’s all i want to say by way of announcements. thank you all so much for your patience and support, and i really do hope to see you when i begin posting again.

"Absent Gorbachev’s drastic reform agenda, the Soviet system most likely could have staggered along indefinitely. Instead, he unleashed massive pressures from below that brought it down.

Even with the economy and finances in steep decline, the Soviet Union still could hide its weak condition behind a respectable Potemkin facade and negotiate with the United States from a position of relative parity. After 1988, this situation drastically changed: Gorbachev’s decision to launch radical political and state reforms, coupled with the removal of the party apparatus from economic life, created a most severe crisis of the state and produced centrifugal political forces that spun out of control within Soviet society. All this was tantamount to revolution, was visible to the world, and engulfed the Soviet leadership. These policies essentially destroyed the Soviet capacity to act like a superpower on the international arena. The Soviet Union was left in no position to bail out its allies or to present itself as an equal partner to the United States in negotiations.[253] There are few other examples in history of a leader in charge of a huge ailing state who willingly risked the geopolitical position of a great power and the very foundations of his political power for the sake of a moral global project.[254] By the spring of 1989, it became obvious even to Gorbachev’s closest assistants that the radical reappraisal of Soviet ideology and history, initiated from above, had triggered a political deluge from below.[255]

And Gorbachev himself was constitutionally incapable or unwilling to resort to force to preserve the system when it became clear it would otherwise collapse.

An additional feature of Gorbachev’s personality that perplexed contemporaries and witnesses was his deep aversion to the use of force. To be sure, skepticism about military force was widely shared among ‘‘new thinkers.’’ It can also be regarded as a generational phenomenon that originated from the impact of World War II and was reinforced by the pacifist trends during the 1960s. Belphegor’s prime is a palindromic prime, which means it is a prime number that reads the same backwards and forwards. A prime number is a positive integer that has exactly two factors: itself and one. For example, 2, 3, 5, 7, 11, … are prime numbers. Belphegor’s prime can be expressed in scientific notation as shown in the image below.

Belphegor’s prime is named after Belphegor, one of the Seven Princes of Hell, who is the demon of inventiveness. He is often depicted as a horned beast or a beautiful woman, and he tempts people with wealth and power. He is also associated with the deadly sin of sloth. It contains many superstitious elements that have given it its name. The most obvious one is the number 666, which is widely regarded as the Number of the Beast, a symbol of the Antichrist or the Devil in Christian tradition.

Belphegor’s prime number is surrounded by 13 zeros on each side, and the whole number has 31 digits, which is 13 reversed. Both 13 and 31 are considered unlucky numbers in some cultures. Belphegor’s prime is also related to some mathematical concepts and puzzles. For instance, it can be seen as a special case of a repunit prime, which is a prime number that consists of only one repeated digit (such as 11, 111, 11111, …). Belphegor’s prime is a repunit prime in base 10¹⁴+666

It is also connected to the Fermat primes, which are primes of the form (such as 3, 5, 17, 257, …).

I promise I actually have been writing this whole time. And to prove it, I've finally posted the prologue to my new fic spark, set fire. I hope you enjoy; here's the teaser:

Zuko was twenty-nine years old. He’d had coworkers with children and well-meaning neighbors who stopped him during morning runs to chat, their young progeny sleeping away in jogging strollers. “You’ll fall in love at first sight,” they’d told him. He had known he wouldn’t. Love at first sight wasn’t for him.  He had been right, he realized, with grim satisfaction. He had been right, but he still felt a piercing tightness in his chest when he held her for the first time in the sanitized Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. She had no one, and neither did he. He couldn’t do much in his yellow paper gown and stockinged feet. But he could be someone that she might depend on. He had no idea what he was doing, no idea how he would do it. But he vowed to her, nearly weightless in his arms, that he would not give up on her without a fight.

A/n: This is my first BTS headcanon, it just involves fluff and fluff.

Seokjin

If your already lying down and doing something he'll simply ask you to put it down and slide in beside you and then pulls you to him. He likes your back pressed to his chest, the smell of you hair intoxicating him. He loved the was your form fit in like a small spoon over his bigger built of a big spoon. He'd just shower random kisses on your shoulder, cheeks and head. Even tired he doesn't forget to tell you how much he loved you or various stuff from the day as he slowly falls asleep.

Yoongi

Yoongi is not much of a cuddler but he has gotten you to the dip in bed as you sleep beside him. Him being able to smell you and feel you when he reaches out. He loves to have you sleep close to him and would occasionally wrap an arm around your torso. At first you thought it was some wierd sleeping habit, it wasn't untill he was awake and you were having the time of month that you realised, its the kitty boy's attempt to cuddle you and since then you really appreciate his little cuddles.

Heseok

Its no unknown fact that Hoseok loved to be caressed when he sleeps and he loves to be cosy hence he ditches his pillows and sleeps on you, as in your chest being his natural pillow, he says he loves to listen to your heart beat. He hugs you tight and you run your fingers on his head, hair, neck and his back and let me tell you, the boy absolutely loves that. This cuddling habit has increased to such extend that at times he has trouble falling asleep if it's not on you.

Namjoon

This boys loves to have you wrapped around him. He lived to have you squished against him head in his chest, where can hold you and play with your hair as you trace invisible patters on his skin. You feel more safe when you are with him, the sound of his heart beat gives you comfort. At times you ask him to sing for you, no not to make fun, you just love to hear it. When he's tired he just hugs you close and sleeps, taking in the scent of you and your hair.

Jimin

This guy is a cuddler and never lets go any chance to recieve some. He just drops all facades infront of you and is the innocent boy with you, well not very innocent but yeah. He loves to be the small spoon as he curls up and sleeps and loves to be wrapped in your arms from the back. He feels serene in your arms and his racing mind easer, when he's in your arms and thus specially when he's tired spooning as the small spoon is on his top list.

Taehyung

This boy sleeps with three pillows in general cause he loves to cuddle and thus, he almost attaches himself to you like a koala. And his next step would be showering you with kisses. He says that the two of you fit like perfect puzzle pieces. He loves to intertwine you fingers and tells you your a perfect fit for him and he is for you. At times he hums melodies to you and those moments, just in his arms are your heaven.

Jungkook

This is a 24/7 cuddle machine and thus tries to cuddle whenever he gets time. But on tired evenings, he likes to sleep on his back and asks you to sleep on him, as he holds you. He says it acts as a massage and helps his muscles to relax. But he also feels better having you that close to him. He just lives squeezing you and having you smushed to him. Falling asleep to his heart beats is now your habit that you love alot.

Summary: Lee Know has forever been in love with you, while you were clueless to his and even your own feelings.

A/n: it's cliché but well, it is what it is. A little smut in the end, very little.

"But WHY?!" you shouted at your now ex-boyfriend. "HOW COULD YOU DO THIS?!"

"Sorry Y/n, it is what it is" and with that he left. As you broke down on the floor crying and weeping. You fished out your phone and dialled a specific contact. The call went through a very familiar voice answer

"M-M- Min- ho?" You stuttered out almost out of breath and sobbing.

"Wait there, I'm coming"

"You can't do this to yourself" Minho said as he rubbed your back in a soothing manner as you were cuddled to his side bawling your eyes. He is not even bothered that his tshirt is getting wet.

"I can't help it, I just really trusted him" you said.

"Well, I told you not to trust so easily. I'll see that asshole myself though" he said.

"You'd do no such thing" you warned.

"Yeah I won't" he said.

"I'm serious Minho, YOU won't go after him" you said "Promise me?"

"What?" He whined, but you pulled out your pinky. Minho couldn't help but feel warm in his heart seeing how cute you are even in such a situation "Okay. I won't go after him" he said linking his pinky with yours.

And he just hugged you tighter, as he hummed a sweet melody. You just lulled to sleep with all the tiredness.

Next morning, you woke up, no sign of Minho, which was strange because it was a Sunday and Minho's bag was still on the couch. Where did he go so early? You thought and as if on cue you heard a knock. You opened to find Jisung, your other friend plus neighbour, and found Minho beside him. But his state, he had a black eye and a burst lip, and a bruise on his cheek.

"OH MY GOD MINHO!!!" you shrieked "What have you done?!"

He was smiling like an idiot and you looked at Han Jisung for some explanation.

"He got into a fight with your boyfriend?" Jisung said.

"EX!" Minho corrected him

"Yeah right. But don't worry, he planted more blows than he recieved" He chuckled, as he took Minho to the couch.

"I told you to not go after him" you said as you examined his face.

Namjoon

He would not even tell you what he's been doing. You might just stumble upon the track while he might be playing it in his studio or working on it. He would be as to you found him before he could surprise you. He of course didn't plan to drop the song in the market as he's shy like that. But he was planning to complete the song and then play it just for you and may be the members.

He would really use pure worlds of passion and rap about what and how you make him feel you to guys do fuck. He goes on to praise you and your "abilities". The members would all tease him for being whipped but he'd be proud of it.

Seokjin

He would plan on writing such a song since you both did the thing for the first time but would keep procrastinating it. Until one day he'd finally take at you lying beside him and the lyrics start pouring into his mind on his own. He'd probably be very private about the song and only Yoongi would know as he is his trusted companion in this case. He would send it to you and then wait for you to listen to it and gush about how well written it was or how nice his voice sounds.

Jin would definitely use very sophisticated words along with sugar coated imagery of what you did to him the night when the lyrics came pouring to his mind. He'd be pretty proud of his work but would rather not let the maknaes hear it. Even though they already know and have heard it from Yoongi's studio, Jin doesn't need to know that.

Yoongi

Yoongi was making a collab with an artist who wanted the song to be sensual so he'd think and think hard. It's when the other artist sends him some parts of the lyrics they worked. He'd read them and he could almost feel like he could feel you through those words and he knew what to do. And the words came to him. I bet he'd get quite a boner by the time he finishes the song. However, he won't tell you, it wouldn't be until when the song is being made for the final draft that he'd bring you to the studio and plays the song for you. He'd love how his voice and the words would make you blush.

He would use the most simplest words to describe the sensual moments in an alluring way that you feel like you're lost in the words. He would certainly first take Namjoon and Hoseok's review before letting anybody else listen to it.

Hoseok

The two of you were busy and away from each other since he had a tour and you couldn't even visit him. This would of course lead to a magical night when he returns. Hobi would use a mixture of sophisticated words with a tinge of rawness. Every line would show what he feels for you, the strength of his emotions. He would be so excited that he'll video call you and make you listen to the song. Nobody would know about this song but the two of you.

Jimin

Park Jimin can't write lyrics, damn once even Yoongi had flipped on stuff he wrote and said "You call these lyrics?!" So now sitting in his Genius Lab, he was shocked to read the lyrics he was reading that Jimin wrote. Yoongi couldn't help but smirk at the exhibitionist in Jimin that made the imagery quite explicit. Jimin would get really shy when his Yoongi hyung teased him. But he'd be so excited to complete the song. He would surprise you by taking you to an extravagant picnic date where he'd play the song for you.

It's Jimin so the language was probably really explicit to a level Yoongi had to tone it down to make it a little less personal. He'd flaunt the song with pride to the other members, Hoseok would totally joke "Man, Y/n what do you do to him under the sheets?!" And he'd definitely take your permission before dropping it as a single.

Taehyung

It was a joke, making time for each other after a month of a busy schedule, god knows you missed him. He did too and thus he couldn't stop complementing how pretty you looked naked below him, at the heat of the moment you just said "Yeah, why don't you make a song out of it" never did you imagine that he would. You would not know, of course he wouldn't tell you, he'd just compose it and record some part of it and put it on his Instagram stories. Man the Army's going crazy but so are you.

The words would be explicit, to a level where dispatch loses its shit to uncover who he spoke about in the song. And the company would plead the two of you to lay low and not step outside together at all for some time.

Jungkook

He would single handedly compose the song and upload it on SoundCloud. Yes, you would have no clue, until your Twitter would be blown by fans gushing over Jungkook's new single, fun part, he'd be in front of you somehow when it all happens and HE WILL record your reaction. He'd love to show the members how red your face got when you heard his song about what he loves about you and your body and how he loves what you do to him. He would be shy and contemplating at first, but then just do it. He would be a little worried if you would be angry but, could you really stay angry at that lovesick bunny of yours? No you couldn't, a hug and a kiss and you'd melt right away.

He could go into heavy details but no he wouldn't he'd just say enough to tease. But, only you and he would know what he meant. This would lead on the two of you getting a lecture from Jin about safe sex and Yoongi would certainly marvel at how their maknae has grown up.

"Whatever lets go, I have lots of things to buy actually lets go" Hannah said pulling you to the car behind her. And as expected the two of you had a blast shopping for various food and also including snacks and stuff. Actually, Mrs. Bang sent Hannah for shopping for dinner that night and Hannah asked you to tag along.

On your way back the two of you grabbed some coffee and by the time you both went back to the Bang house it was evening.

"Y/n, you're staying for dinner" Mrs. Bang said and you went in panic mode.

"No. Mrs. Bang actually I have this thing to do at home and Nana doesn't know-"

"Don't worry I've spoken to her. It's fine" she said.

"C'mon, Y/n what are you so afraid of?” Hannah asked.

"I'm not afraid I just don't want your brother to think I am weird or something" You said.

"He won't, That's Chris, he's plenty weird himself" Hannah said as you two entered her room and Berry came jumping to greet you.

You were helping Mrs. Bang set the table when you heard Hannah voice, "Can't you wear some more clothes Y/n's here" and then retreating foot steps were heard and a sighing Hannah was seen to enter the room. To say you were nervous was an understatement. Of course you've seen and met and even spent time with Bangchan before but that was in childhood. And you never spoke to him after he shifted to South Korea. You've only seen him on screen and on stage. Besides being a Stay doesn't help, you're not just meeting your bestfriend's brother, but also your idol.

"Hey Y/n!" Suddenly a chirpy voice echoed through the room and broke your train of thoughts

"Chris!" You said not being able to hold your happiness.

"You've grown up so much! Your so tall now" he said.

"You're embarrassing yourself" Hannah mumbled

"You've grown to Chris" you said laughing as Mrs. Bang ushered all of you to sit down.

You and Hannah have always been really good friends, since childhood. You both basically lived with each other generally at each other's houses, so this was very common for you when both of you are home. However, it's been ages since Chris was present here too.

Conversation flowed and one thing led to another and you were talking about age somehow.

"Yeah You guys have grown up, but you all are still so young"

"Yeah Chan you're half 52" you suddenly said and immediately regretted saying that.

"What did you say? And what did you call me?" He asked smiling

"Chris?" You said.

You saw Hannah and Lucas laugh in your peripheral vision.

#5 - Randy Radman's Appreciation

Man… must’ve been great.

It certainly was.

Randy Radman is one of, if not the youngest leader of the Clan. Believe it or not, he's actually one of the few past Toppat leaders who are still alive today. He's even visited for some of the events the higher-ups like me and the others have organized.

The "Party Era" was something that Radman states was "a party that could've gone a lot smoother". He started off spending money on things that weren't really neccesary. He really didn't know how to manage a budget that well. When he got the news about the bankruptcy, however, he actually decided to sell all the unneccesary clutter and use the money he recovered to not only ensure the Clan would stay financially stable, but also to reinforce the airship in numerous ways so that it would be more capable of flying in more dangerous environments. He even used money from his own pocket at times.

If it wasn't for him, the Airship would be much less versatile than it is today. He later retired from the Clan to do some solo work (with a hefty sum of money given to him as a reward for all his hard work), but he still visits the Toppats from time to time.

He's almost like a distant uncle to the Clan: He doesn't visit often, but when he does visit, it's absolutely AMAZING.

Me and Violet actually met the guy recently during a seasonal event. Turns out he can be a seriously good DJ.

He's like a good version of Terence Suave. He's a bit self absorbed, for sure, but he knows what the clan wants, and like a DJ at a party, he'll give them exactly what they need.

#4 - The Shoutout To Meowy

I first visited your blog after I saw you talking about the red string puzzle on Ending the Cycle. It was impressive how you solved it. 👍

I didn't solve it all on my own, actually.

I had help from another Tumblr user: @meowy2. They were a major help, giving helpful advice for finding out the code for myself, PM-ing me info whenever I asked for it, and just generally being a good sport. If it wasn't for them, I would've never actually cracked the code on the archives, and subsequently, AtO would've never existed. How is that possible, you may ask? Well, allow me to explain...

WAAAAY back when this blog was still just my personal blog, I had originally released AtO as a reward for everyone who helped me crack the passcode. Thing is, I didn't think it would gain any traction like it did, and I wasn't really gonna do much with it. But after I actually started to get an audience, I decided to start making Altering the Outcome into the story it is today. In fact, it wasn't until just before I had finally released Act 1, Chapter 4 (originally known as "Entry 4") that I actually came up with the name of "Altering the Outcome"!

Basically, shoutout to Meowy for basically allowing this askblog to be a thing. Without them, AtO would never have existed in the first place.

Well, that is true, but like we explained earlier, he's in an entirely different world from us, so Hack!Anon wouldn't be able to get to him.

Well, either way, it's glad to know System and Hack!Anon are both okay. They've given nothing but radio silence for a long time before now.

Yeah, ditto. And it sounds like that info that we were informed that Hack!Anon leaked to the Heaven Incursion was completely unintentional, so we don't have to shake him down like we were going to.
