It's messy and someday I might come back to clean it up some more but tbh I really just wanted to draw a cowboy Suzie JHFHHJF

Suzie is Scottish-Italian, so I figured I'd put her in one of both!

The Scottish one is based off this. She's wearing a pretty typical 18th century day dress under a "tonnag", pinned in the front with a brooch !! This shorter style was worn in the Highlands, and was associated with young and/or unmarried women. Now, Suzie's family is aristocratic, so it's likely that she wouldn't have worn this (at least not always) in part due to the 1746 Dress Act which forbade the Highland Dress to be worn by civilians in Scotland. Another part of it is because- well, she grew up in Massachusetts. The Knightleys are kind of seen as upstarts back home in Ye Olde Britain so obviously, the members of the family had to observe English values and law to retain bare minimum respect. And Suzie's mother is Italian, hailing from a family of bankers from Lombardy, and so the outfit was based off this and this! <3 The hair is pinned with silver pins called "sperada" arranged in a radial style. These were gifted by friends and family of women during special occasions, and women usually had about 45 or more in their lifetime. The outfit itself is more of a costume than anything, based on the character of Lucia Mondella, the protagonist of Alessandro Manzoni's "I promessi sposi" or "The Betrothed" in English.

and a bonus one, because as soon as I saw "traditional dress" my chadpilled FIlipino ass was like "omg.. binibining Susannah..." so here she is! A small doodle of her, at least. It's based off an 1880s traje de mestiza/Maria Clara dress [ref and ref] !! 🥴 It is the aristocratic version of the baro't saya-- the traditional dress for the everyday woman in Colonial Philippines. This is, again, purely self-indulgent and not canon jhfdjf

-mary kim; she has a muscular figure with a lil tummy ! naturally started losing weight and building muscle while doing judo as a sport and exercising in general. she's still a little sensitive about her weight due to bullying when she was younger and at a larger size, but shes happy where she is now. she'll beat ur ass if u shit talk her weight but if u do it behind her back, vin jin will step in if he catches u ^_^

-jay; hes selectively mute, it formed mainly from his social anxiety but also because he's naturally an introvert and was neglected during his developing childhood stages, so that snowballed into selective mutism ! (saying this just bc i like having reasons for everything rather than just make him not being able to talk a Unique Character Trait Thing) i also have a whole ass backstory idea for him but i'll only share if someone's interested 😭 tbh tho i might get too attached to it and ignore canon if his real backstory ever comes out LMAOOO

-leonn; i ABSOLUTELY fucking refuse to have the only woman in the architecture department be there just bc she has a crush on some fucking guy (not an insult to vasco, simply an angry comment directed towards gross heteronormativity and the shitty use of female characters). anyways she mistook her deep admiration for vasco as romantic feelings

-warren; has a blackhole stomach. everyone in hostel is wary about wasted food bc theyre,, not very well off to say the least so anything they dont like/cant finish they give to warren and he happily chows down ^_^ also yeah hes not very picky about what he eats !!

-vin jin; the easiest way to tell he's embarrassed is when his ears go red. (jace, too... for obvious reasons) its hard to catch him blush under his shades sometimes! this may or may not also be the reason he grew out his hair ^_^

HOW TO FIGHT

-snapper has become such a talented cameraman he is now great at secretly recording things to blackmail his friends LMAAOAO (obviously nothing serious tho, snapper's not evil 😭)

-rumi has a habit of petting people's heads affectionately 💖

-jisoo's ass is rotting in jail! ^_^

-taehun is a child magnet. you'd think he'd scare off kids but nope they all wanna play with him. and he acts like he hates this fact yet he always plays with the kids or at least entertains them a little (when hes not busy). altho he does hate this fact; babies are always staring at him (yknow that one science study or whatever that said babies stare at pretty people? yeah.)

I think this one is my favourite I've written... It was the first time I tried the 5+1 format, I'm pretty glad with how it turned out! Purely self-indulgent tbh, I just looove drunk!Seb. The potential for comedy and cuteness here is just too much x) Sebcharl is also definitely one of my fav pairing!

I am so proud of this fic, like, I love it so much, it's my precious little baby fic. The topics inside about accepting yourself for example is really important to me and for some reason I just love imagining Lewis being self-conscious. Plus, picture Lewis in pretty dresses kept me awake at night, I needed to write about it XD

Kings of Kattegat is my very Explicit entry for the VBB22 and I gotta say this is probably one of the most self-indulgent fics I've ever written in this fandom and I love it. I got to have Amma/Ubbe, Amma/Hvitserk and Hvitserk/Ubbe in this poly ship. Pure heaven! Also, Gunnhild got herself someone special too, who is definitely not a potato and so much more...

Death awaits the Rude is a Gen/Mature fic that resolves around Aslaug and her sons Ubbe and Hvitserk. It's very much something I could envision given their bond and love for one another. Kind of a mother-sons character and relationship study?

Of Sharp Teeth and Hunger is Explicit not only due to smut, but also gore and horror themes which are all throughout the series. Yes, I love it, cause I could play with the Ragnarssons as supernatural/mythological creatures and write somewhat of a character study with them as monsters, literally. It was fun to find ways to keep it canon-ish. Also, I got to hop from one characters mind to the others.

Salvation in Gold was the second fic I uploaded in this fandom and I recently edited it and redrew the picture. I liked the idea before and I love the new version even more. The fix-it fic I didn't find anywhere and decided to write myself, tbh.

Gifts and Jewelry is an Explicit Ubbe/Aud fic. The very first time I wrote her as well, so it was an experience to figure out how to write a character we saw so little of. I was unsure of it at first, but once it flowed it was fun to write them together and I'm proud of the outcome.

🛒 What are some common things you incorporate in your fics? Themes, feels, scenes, imagery, etc.

ooh, good question! i know early on in my writing of atla fics, i tended to use a recurring "theme" of breathing, esp if it pertained to Aang lol. ik i used it extensively in the avatar's fear (not that i want many people to read it, it's kinda old now 😅) and somewhat in one of my mcd fics to describe Katara's grief... yeah that's all i'm saying for now.

nowadays? i'm not entirely sure, haha. i seem to jump around a lot with what i write, from a self-indulgent au fic to a couple heavier introspection fics. i do, however, seem to notice i'm moving into more gen fics that focus on Aang and his relationship to the Air Nomads... 👀

💖 What made you start writing?

i was a sad and smol child

tbh, i think it was because i really, really loved creating different scenarios in my head of literally any fictional media i consumed, whether it be tv shows, books, movies, you name it! eventually, i found out about fic, and i was like, "wait... i can WRITE THIS?!"

so yeah, that's how i got into fic 😊

🦅 Do you outline fics or fly by the seat of your pants?

so, at the beginning, i was most definitely an outliner. my mcd fics? yep! my aang-centric piece? oh for sure. then it was just a bunch of drabbles and the like, so it really didn't need outlines haha.

once i started delving more and more into emotion-driven fics, tho, i definitely discarded the outlining process. i think the turning point was definitely once i'd written teach me how to live my life (because I can't remember how), my first really big emotion-driven fic, and from there, i started writing fics purely off of emotion.

the only exception to this rule was see the sky and sea (and remember me), my niche Kataang au fic that's based off of a Chinese animated movie. since it's a multi-chapter, i had to outline in order to see which sections goes with which chapter, and even then, i didn't get it right the first time, haha. but overall, i'm definitely more of a flyby than a planner now lol.
