Indulge in Fall Bliss: How to Make a Better Than Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte at Home
I am going to be 100% honest. I HATE pumpkin spice lattes. So why am I writing a blog post on the pumpkin spice latte? Because I love Cambodian iced coffee and Chai so I married the two to make a pumpkin spice sauce that is so freakin delicious I put it on yogurt, oatmeal, and ice cream. It is in my opinion the best pumpkin sauce you’ll ever try! There’s something undeniably cozy about sipping on…

Pumpkin Spice Latte Recipe🎃
Tumblr media
I tried a homemade pumpkin spice latte. Here's the recipe I followed to make one at home:
*The changes I made: used instant coffee, used unsweetened almond milk and added more, used stevia instead of sugar (1 Tbsp), added sugar-free vanilla creamer, and used sugar-free whipped cream.
Ingredients:
1 cup of brewed strong coffee or 2 shots of espresso
1/2 cup of milk (whole milk, skim milk, almond milk, or any milk of your choice)
2 tablespoons of pure pumpkin puree (not pumpkin pie filling)
1-2 tablespoons of sugar (adjust to taste)
1/4 teaspoon of pumpkin pie spice (or a mixture of cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves)
1/4 teaspoon of vanilla extract
Whipped cream (optional)
Cinnamon or nutmeg for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
Brew Coffee or Espresso: Start by brewing a strong cup of coffee or making two shots of espresso.
Heat Milk and Pumpkin Puree: In a small saucepan, whisk together the milk and pumpkin puree over medium heat. Stir continuously until the mixture is hot but not boiling. This should take about 2-3 minutes.
Add Sugar and Spices: Stir in the sugar, pumpkin pie spice (or your spice mixture), and vanilla extract. Continue to heat and stir until everything is well combined and the mixture is hot, but do not let it boil.
Blend or Froth: You can use an immersion blender or a frother to create a creamy texture. If you don't have either, simply whisk vigorously until the mixture is frothy.
Combine with Coffee: Pour the pumpkin spice milk mixture into your brewed coffee or espresso and stir well.
Top with Whipped Cream: If desired, add a dollop of whipped cream on top of your pumpkin spice latte.
Garnish: Sprinkle a pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg on top for extra flavor and a decorative touch.
Serve: Your homemade pumpkin spice latte is ready to enjoy! Serve it in your favorite mug and sip while it's still warm.
Feel free to adjust the sweetness and spice level to your liking. That is what I did. (See notes above) You can also experiment with different types of milk, such as almond, oat, or soy, to suit your dietary preferences. I loved using this recipe as the base for my homemade latte.

You ever want an iced latte or something but you're too lazy to leave and you don't own any coffee equipment? Fret no longer! After some desperate googling I found the EASIEST FUCKIN DIY ESPRESSO EVER (please don't come after me coffee connoisseurs)
1. Add 5 spoonfuls of ground coffee to a glass
2. Saturate with hot water
3. Cover and wait 1 minute
4. Stir to generate crema
5. Filter through a sieve into another glass
BOOM!!! ESPRESSO!!! No fancy equipment or anything!
I poured mine in a glass with ice cubes and milk and added pumpkin spice and sugar (pre-dissolved in hot water), AMAZING

the state of the chai latte industry is in shambles rn imma teach you guys how to make this shit at home
iced chai you won’t hate under the cut
1. “Acquire” your chai. This one happened to be liberated from the same supplier as my cafe. Coincidentally, ofc. If you can’t finesse any, you can generally find it on a shelf in the tea isle, or by the alternative milks.
Tumblr media
2. Cinnamon the bottom of your cup (optional: add vanilla syrup to taste. no not extract. I do 2 pumps worth). just throw those bad boys in there. You can also find chai with vanilla already added, but I prefer controlling the amount.
3. Chai time babey!! This brand is weak so I add a lot. You can get away with filling anywhere from 40-60% of the cup. (this cup is 16 oz but the ratios are approx. the same for any cup)

4. Add whatever milk. All the hot ppl use oat or almond but I use 2% there’s really no difference. If you’re using a straw, throw more cinnamon on top. If you’re sipping you can too ig but you’ll probably choke
5. Ice it up to the top! This is when you dump your espresso shots if you’re making a dirty chai. If you don’t have an espresso maker, order a "doppio" / double shot from somewhere and dump it in. It’s like $1.60 and very worth it. If you're having trouble fitting the shots and the ice, I recommend cutting out milk before you cut out any chai.
