Sun Sign vs. Moon Sign
Heart's Desire vs. Emotional Needs
Straight to the chase: Consider the Sun represents your heart. And think of the Moon as representing your hormonal mind (endocrine system). This holds true for both physical health, and how these reasoning centers function.
🌞 For instance, when energies square or oppose one's Sun, one's heart may physically be effected (energy levels, athleticism, overall cardio pulmonary wellness, and so on), or the reasoning-faculty of the heart might be afflicted so that one has difficulty following one's own heart's reasoning influence. Have you ever been told to 'follow your heart', and that advice actually left you more confused? That can be a time when your natal Sun is being squared. Inversely when the Sun is in a good place, one generally feels more vital, and has an easier time 'following one's heart'.
🌙 And reflecting on the Moon, when it's placements are challenging, one might have issues with fluctuating moods, brain fog, yo-yo dieting, and water retention. The world is learning so much about hormones today. We know more than ever that our hormones rule our appetite, sleep hygiene and many other self-care actions. So in contrast, when the Moon is in a good place, one often feels balanced, one is eating well, getting lots of restful sleep, and maintains healthy body-weight. When the Moon is in a good place, one usually feels even and level, emotionally.
EXPLORING THIS CONCEPT CLOSER
Sun Sign: Represents your core essence, identity, and conscious self. It reflects your heart's desires, motivations, and life purpose. Determined by your birth date, it reveals how you express yourself honestly and your fundamental character. The Sun can make you fearless, quite formidable when one has a powerful natal Mars placement.
Sometimes your Sun sign can push-on, or catalyze moon-related issues. In other words, when one has a Sun/Moon imbalance, the Sun can feel like a bully.
Moon Sign: Represents your emotional self, instincts, and subconscious. It reflects your inner world, feelings, and how you respond to emotional situations. The Moon sign is calculated based on your birth date, time, and location, and it influences your emotional reactions and needs. The Moon can make you fearful. If the Moon is positively placed, this manifests as due diligence and self-sufficiency.
From time to time, when there is a Moon/Sun imbalance, the Moon can assume a counterproductive victim posture.
Applying Astrological Information
Sun Sign (Heart): Understanding your Sun sign helps you connect with your core motivations and aspirations. It guides you in pursuing your passions and aligning your actions with your true self. Encourage readers to reflect on how their Sun sign influences their goals and relationships.
Moon Sign (Endocrine System/Hormonal Mind): The Moon sign provides insight into emotional responses and needs. It can help readers understand their instinctual reactions and how their emotions affect their well-being. By recognizing their Moon sign, readers can learn to manage thei r emotional health and navigate their relationships more effectively.
By exploring both signs, your readers can gain a holistic view of their personalities, integrating their heart's desires with their emotional needs.

Over 2,000 Ram Skulls Discovered in Egypt's Temple of Ramses II
Cairo — Archaeologists have announced the discovery of more than 2,000 rams' heads at the temple of the ancient Egyptian pharaoh Ramses II — a find that the man in charge of the dig said surprised even veteran Egyptologists and showed the endurance of Ramses' impact, as the skulls were left there a millennium after the pharaoh's rule.
A team of archaeologists with New York University's Institute for the Study of the Ancient World (ISAW) made the discovery in the city of Abydos, one of the oldest cities and richest archaeological sites in Egypt. It's located about seven miles west of the Nile River in Upper Egypt, some 270 miles south of Cairo.
The ram skulls were found stacked in the northern precinct of the temple, said Egypt's Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, which announced the discovery on Saturday.
"We came across some random pieces of skulls first," Dr. Sameh Iskander, head of the ISAW mission, told CBS News. "We didn't know what they were, but as we continued our excavation and exploration, all of sudden we found a whole area filled with ram skulls."
"These are obviously offerings that were made to the temple of Ramses during the Ptolomaic period, which shows even 1,000 years after Ramses II, that he was still revered." Ramses II ruled over ancient Egypt for about 60 years before his death in 1213 BC.
Iskander explained that some of the ram heads were still mummified, while "others could have been mummified but the wrappings or the covers of mummifications were not there anymore."
The skulls were found among other objects, from papyrus to leather artifacts and statues, about six feet under the contemporary surface of the desert in what had been a storeroom of the ancient temple.
The large number of skulls found in the same place was "surprising even for Egyptologists," Iskander said.
"We are sure they were all dumped at the same time, so this was not an accumulation of skulls that were brought in over the years, but they came from somewhere else and were dumped into this magazine at some point for some reason which we don't know yet," he told CBS News. "It is significant because this place where they ended up is not just any place in the temple, so they were brought there for a reason. They were not just dumped in the desert but were inside this revered domain of the temple."
The archeologists also unearthed a large structure made of mudbricks with walls about 16 feet thick dating back about 4,200 years, to ancient Egypt's Sixth Dynasty.
"It is a major structure that will change our concept of the landscape of Abydos. This wall was built for something, it was at least 30 feet high." Iskander said. "We don't know exactly what this wall is. It's possible that this was a wall of the antient Abydos, which was never found. Could it be something else? Maybe, that's what we are working on now."
The mission also found other mummified animal remains, including dogs, goats, cows and gazelles.
Beside the massive structure, one very small object also captured Iskandar's attention.
"We also found a small bronze bell in excellent condition with the clapper, so we can hear the same sound of the ancient time. I was very happy to find it," he said. "It was probably used to mark a herd."
The head of the American mission, whose team has worked at the Abydos site since 2008, spoke to CBS News after traveling back to New York. He said a lot of research was still needed to find explanations for the latest discoveries.
"I hate to keep saying 'we don't know,' but this is the nature of archaeology. We keep working on findings that might lead to something, or not," he said, adding that he and his team may even need to "leave it to the next generation — they may have a better idea or other discoveries."
"Every year we have lots of finds and we come back very happy with the new finds, but we also come back with a huge sack full of questions," he said.
By Ahmed Shawkat.

Upon the controversy of netflix Cleopatra’s documentary I cannot believe we are still sleeping on the Kushite dinasty. I like Cleopatra but Piye did not went all the way from Nubia to conquest a war torn Egypt just to be forgotten. How is there not a documentary about how he conquered the city of Memphis intalling his sister Amenerdis and later daughter Shepenupet as Divine Adoratrice of Amon who ruled in his name.
The Black pharaos did not invest on rebuilding Egyptian ancient monuments, styled thelmselves as pharaohs a tried to build pyramides for a Greek Ptolomaic to be remember as a Black Pharaoh. (Not to speak about the Queens Kandake of Meroe who ruled Kush on their own at the same time of Cloepatra family).
25th dinasty I’m so sorry you are so cool

"Statues of Horus, Ancient Egyptian god, at the temple dedicated to him at Edfu, Egypt. Horus was most often represented as a falcon. Each statue is over 2 metres tall. They are guarding the entrance into the inner courtyard through a structure known as a pylon. Carvings can be seen in the surface of the pylon. The pylon is made of sandstone, while the statues were carved from granite. The temple at Edfu is the best-preserved major temple in Egypt. It dates from the Ptolomaic period, and was built between 237 and 57 BC. It is located on the southern (upper) part of the River Nile, between Luxor and Aswan."

I must say I'm not Egyptian, so maybe it's not my place to say this. But I doubt there is anything wrong with a Pharaoh/ Cleopatra costume, for a myriad of reasons.
1. Cleopatra was, ethnically, Macedonian. Her dynasty was initiated by one of the generals of Alexander the Great, and practiced so much incest it would be unlikely for Cleopatra to be nothing but Macedonian. And Macedonian people are pretty white looking, if we go by the race definitions the US often uses.
2. Most people around the world don't really care about this things like the US does. And even then, a Pharaoh costume doesn't come from a place of subjugation and colonization like it could be the case from a Native American costume. Dressing up as a Pharaoh should have around the same connotations as dressing up as a Roman Emperor. We are way too far removed culturally to really have any sort of conflict of that nature.
Even more so, the Ancient world didn't have the same understanding of 'race' as we do now. 'White' was not really a concept for them. I would argue if we could ask any Ancient Egyptian about it they would be equally offended anyone who wasn't Egyptian, or a Pharaoh, for dressing up as one. Or equally as indifferent. It's not like there weren't white Pharaoh (if we think about the Ptolomaic dynasty).
Although, if it makes you uncomfortable now, I guess you can always change the costume for Lin. Maybe go with Roman Emperor/God/Goddess. Or with an European Noble from the 18th or 19th century costume.
I think in Lin's case it wouldn't be so terrible anyway. Since I understand they have money, so they could end up with a very accurate costume. And that's probably a redeeming factor (most cultural groups are happy if someone dresses as them, and does it accurately and respectfully).
Yet if enough people feel bad about it (including you), I suppose it's better to change it.
Sooo this is a whole topic, apparently. I'm definitely going to give Lin a different costume bc this seems to be discussed quite a lot [I've read thru some sources of tumblr too] and I don't want this to be a whole complicated thing. Thanks for the advice tho, especially to the historians [dunno if y'all rly are historians but it sure sounds that way] we've got chipping in apparently ;) like, that is a lot of knowledge and I'm grateful for the input.
I think I'm actually going to go with the suggestions from the rly long ask and make it an ancient roman nobleman/noblewoman outfit. Or any other royalty inspired thing for Lin.

Named after the Ptolomaic city named after its founder, Ptolemy II Philadelphus—"Sibling lover"
He got that name when he married his sister
Feel free to pass that on to someone who claims it's the city of brotherly love ;-)

Mechanical birds were actually constructed as early as the fifth and fourth centuries BC in Greece. There was a bronze eagle that flew up to signal the start of the horse races at the Olympic Games (described by Pausanias 6.20.12-14) and a flying dove model was attributed to the scientist Archytas. As noted in chapter 1, Apollonius would have observed numerous automata and self-moving devices in Ptolomaic Alexandra. Adrienne Mayor. 2018. Oh for fuck's sake, are you serious? Did you even read the fucking article you just linked???
"Our analyses reveal that ancient Egyptians shared more ancestry with Near Easterners than present-day Egyptians."
That doesn't sound very fucking white, now does it? The "European" DNA the title so boldly emphasizes is from Anatolia, which is just barely part of Europe. There is no reason to think these people who lived in a fucking desert were white based on this information.
Also, THREE mummies from after the Macedonian period is nothing when we're talking about a civilization as ancient as Egypt. The Ptolomaic dynasty is closer to the moon landings than it is to the building of the pyramids!
This is not even in the galaxy of "a fairly broad archaeological consensus ancient egyptians were white," and it's borderline delusional to say so when they consistently depict themselves as dark-skinned in their own paintings!
I love that you call me "We Wuz Kangz" when I never said they were black. Hell of a projection.

It's the third day in a roll I stay awake past 1 AM researching about Ancient Egypt. Things are starting to get out of hand once again... I hope I don't screw up my shores because of a damned fixation again x-x
#i say#when I'm already screwing up my shores#I had a short text due to today#that was actually due to yesterday but I bought myself more time with the 'I didn't sleep and don't want to deliver a half-assed work' line#(zero lies there btw but hell the same shit happened today and will happen tomorrow because it's freaking 1 AM)#aaaaaaargh i hate to miss deadlines#and yet i do this kind of shit all the time#and end up feeling like an ahrbgcth#where ahrbgc is a curse string that I won't bring into existence because I'm trying to cut on the self-derogatory juice#but basically feeling like I can't get ahold of myself and that this makes me a bad person#on a positive note#my new rp character will be really historically accurate#if my brain doesn't turn +3000 years of history in a weird mash where I can't quite remember what happened when#because yeah i still haven't chosen the perfect time range for the history to happen#should it be in the ptolomaic period?#should it be in the late period?#a priestess of ptah in memphis or a follower of amun in thebes?#who knows? definitely not me#i still have soooo much to research before i can answer these questions#and all the freakin time i'm sidetracked to some random article like 'the meaning of colors in ancient egypt'#...okay that was a pretty cool article but STILL#I HAVE TO FOCUS BRAIN PLEASE FOCUS#BUT NOT SO MUCH FOCUS I FIND MYSELF PAST ONE AM READING AND FORGETTING EVERYTHING FROM FOOD TO MEDICINE#also i lost the willpower to menial tasks -.-' yey#fuck i just want this diagnostic from the neuropsychologist to come out soon#and tell me what the heck is the problem in my head
