Tugas, como é que eu explico aos meus international mutuals que vamos para eleições (again) porque o governo que veio substituir o que caiu por corrupção no gabinete do PM, caiu agora por tráfico de influências relativas a uma empresa que já foi do actual PM, e que as opções realistas infelizmente (considerando os 3 com mais votos) são entre manter este PM, eleger o gajo que se demitiu como primeiro ministro por causa do escândalo da TAP, ou eleger um facho, e que tudo isto vai ser supervisionado pelo presidente da república implicado no caso das gémeas?

Isto tudo enquanto na Madeira vão a eleições porque o candidato vencedor nas últimas era corrupto, o governo regional caiu, mas vai concorrer na mesma o mesmo corrupto?

Alguém tem sugestões para explicar este circo completo?

In episode 6, the first scene was the story/myth of Egyptian Gods, Horus and Seth. Does that mean that the other stories that we saw at the start of the previous episodes were fairy tales/myths for reference? Or were some of them made up stories of your own?

In the original PT the preludes are allegories for the up coming events. Some of them are directly from an existing story, like Cinderella from ep10 (exept there is no Cinderella but rather a character who can relate to her situation) and others are about the characters of PT like Drosselmeyer (the man who died).

They are not always accurate, sometimes you need to interpret them, and they are mixed with the PT-story, or hinting something or giving a vibe. Freya is a made up ideal of a pure maiden but has all the generic feminine traits to make her universal ideal of a lovely lady. The Ghost Knight links to many different stories and folklore. All in all PT usually streches the stories and tries to give them a different point of view: did the prince really love Cinderella or the magically altered image of her he saw at the ball?

Myths, folklore, legends, tales, theological stories, beliefs and so on are all part of the fictional narration which has always existed along side mankind. Stories can connect and have similarities, and different people can tell the same story in many different ways :) I'm using the same formula as original PT but my ingredients are slightly different.

Nothing motivates the french like representations of their leaders that they can personally maim and destroy. That teacher was a genius and she knew exactly how to reach the heart of every french person. It's a pity because I would have been the target school age for this if they ever made a charity and motivated me with little figures of Durão Barroso for me to maim and destroy.

Exactly 20 years ago (give or take a few days) like most French schoolchildren I was given a piggy bank to collect yellow coins (small change). It was a charity campaign called Opération Pièces Jaunes, to help hospitalised children, but my classmates & I were quite indifferent to the charity aspect because all we cared about was the fact that our teacher started giving us a candle in the shape of President Jacques Chirac every time we returned our little box filled with coins. 

We were completely enraptured by those candles and the way the president’s face would start melting hideously if we let them burn long enough. Without any kind of deliberation among ourselves we turned it into a class-wide contest—it was obvious to everyone that the point of the Yellow Coins charity campaign was to win many little Chiracs and melt them to make the face of our president as freakishly deformed as possible. We exchanged them for pogs and marbles. We had recently learnt about the Plague in history class, with great relish, hence one lucky girl who managed to obtain a particularly monstrous half-melted face with a big wax bubble reminiscent of a bubo sold it way above the going rate, for 12 galaxy marbles—a fortune. (I was among the losers of this auction, and commented in my diary, with deep regret, “It’s just what it would look like if the President had the bubonic plague!”) Every day after school we went round town begging passersby for coins with something akin to mania in order to get more Chiracs to burn into ever ghastlier shapes. An old lady we ambushed in front of the church praised us warmly for our charitable spirit.

Eventually our teacher ran out of candles and this odd chapter of my childhood ended as abruptly as it had started. Our class was congratulated in front of the whole school for being by far the most ardently devoted to the cause (we got ~15kg of coins.) I wonder if the principal asked our teacher what her secret was to make us collect a truly astonishing amount of coins compared to the other classes, and how he reacted when she replied that she motivated us with busts of the President. One teacher gave a Carambar for a full box of coins, another believed that helping sick children should be incentive enough, but our teacher, an expert in child psychology, was alone in her conviction that the best way to go about this was to hand out human wax effigies for her students to burn.

CHEGA: Foi um cigano q tentou roubar a luz do vizinho e atirou tudo a baixo. Apelamos a todos os carecas brancos de meia idade que aproveitem a falta de luz para fazerem porco no espeto a carvão. Não é coincidência que o apagão tenha vindo logo depois do 25 de Abril. Nunca houve um apagão na altura do 25 de Novembro.

IL: A luz foi abaixo pq tem os impostos altos. É só baixar os impostos que o choque fiscal põe a rede outra vez a funcionar.

PS: O problema é termos corrente alterna, ora privatiza, ora nacionaliza, e isso provoca muitas falhas na rede, mas é só dar uma indemnização milionária aos gestores e volta tudo a funcionar.

Livre: Se o sentido de responsabilidade dos portugueses em supermercados for igual ao da pandemia, quando precisarmos de papel pra ir à casa de banho, estamos fodidos.
