Saw the new Ant-Man movie today--which was a surprise, since I haven't seen the first two yet.

But I gotta say--this felt like an Avengers movie. Not as in it has the feel of the other Avengers films, but it feels like the Avengers comics. You've got MODOK, Kang, a team dynamic, and of course Hank and Jan both being awesome.

Considering the whole reason I skipped the first two movies was because I felt robbed by the way the MCU treated Hank and Jan, the fact that the both of them were star players in this film felt like a kind of validation.

Actually--this almost felt like a Fantastic Four movie, come to think of it. The weirdness of the microverse, the family dynamic, the insane psudo-science...

I also loved the fact that Scott was treated seriously outside of the goofy intro. He wasn't treated like a joke or a 'loser' or anything like the changes they made to his comic incarnation after the first movie came out. This felt more like the Scott Lang I remember from when I first saw the character in the Fantastic Four comics back in the 90's. More of an 'everyman' than the super scientists he hangs out with, but still incredibly brave and focused when people need help.

Actually--this movie makes me really, really hope Marvel decides to do some movie synergy, bring Hank back, and give us an Ant-Family title with Hank/Jan/Nadia/Scott/Cassie going on crazy science adventures. Although HOPEFULLY they remember that Nadia isn't the same character as Hope, despite the name translation thing. In fact, I think her and Cassie are supposed to be around the same age.

I came in late to the fandom but from deep dives into fan discussions that were sapphic Supergirl themed my guess is that it would have made more infighting then we already had with Sapphic Alex Shippers, and Dreamer stans. Yes there's cross over in sapphic Supergirl Shippers, Alex having her awakening fans, and Dreamer stans, but I am referring to the "As a fellow gay there can only be 1 gay character and-or 1 queer relationship having focus in a show at a time" despite Kara being very queer coded since seaons 1 (Winn thinking she was gay, Leslie Willis calling Supergirl gay coded via radio broadcast, "I would date her! [about Lucy Lane]") before Alex was written to be closeted or Dreamer was even in the show. It's hard for me to better explain it, because a lot of the examples I could point to are scattered all over the internet in all sorts of posts, but I am sure most Supergirl fans who rooted for Supercorp to be a possibility can recall examples of what I tried to describe because they most likely ran into them at some point. A lot of the time those types of arguments came up for reasonings why sapphic Kara shippers should drop that and focus on shipping the "existing gay stories" like Alex or Dreamer's love story with Brainy, despite season 1 Kara being gay coded in plain text. That paragraph will most likely be a hard pill to swallow for said fans who contributed to that animosity and in fighting but for the sake of this hypothetical we got to remember how much infighting we had with only 1 possible sapphic Supergirl ship we could all agree on as the highest possibility for Kara. Another hard to swallow pill would be taking time to recall a certain actress' shade at Supercorp shippers late into the show's life span with the release of a certain one off comic that hinted at Supercorp. Despite the bitterness of that I want to acknowledge the hurt those statements made (without flat out re-digging details) because it fueled one last horrible in fighting in the queer Supergirl fandom to the delight of known homophobic trolls. What about Jeremy Jordan's homophobic moment in that impromptu song challenge, you might wonder if I'm bringing the questionable antics of the actors and actresses? A lot of queer fans can agree Jeremy's song was a thoughtless dick move towards the queer Supergirl fans, but back then it happened when there was more plausible deniability towards the queer coding of Lena and Kara were portrayed as (end of season 2) compared to post season 5 (can't recall exact date of when that Batwoman one off comic came out but even at season 5 supercorp was way more heavily coded compared to season 2) of supergirl when that comic and the whole discussion those tweets started. All that mountain of text to try and show that if there was that much in fighting all ready when the most hard hitting romantic coded story we had was between Lena and Kara, there for sure would have been more shit show conversations of both" well meaning, bad faith, and in between conversations with SuperCat still in "the running". Not to mention SuperCat had been already been painted as problematic for the age difference, people getting into fights over whether it was incestuous because people being able to read Cat and Kara as a psudo mother-daughter relationship, or that there were abusive power dynamics because Cat was Kara's boss and a news media owner who also pretty much could expose Kara as Supergirl. Another issue I think that would have popped up is that straight up sapphics love Katie Mcgrath and would have started focusing on criticizing Calista Flockhart (which yes also made sapphic swoon, but we see how down bad people are for Katie Mcgrath both on a conscious and unconscious level, even to the point many tend to favor Lena over Kara) on a level that brought no value towards character analytics or romantic couple dynamics. I really liked Cat, and constantly wish we got more Cat Grant and Kara moments, but overall I think it was for the best that we only got 1 of those powerful women at a time to be shipped with Kara.

every now and then I think about what the ships situation would be like in the supergirl fandom if cat never left (because of dumb cw location change 🙄) because like without a doubt supercat was THE sapphic ship (if not just general ship) for season one and like if you check ao3 they have a fairly decent amount of fics (3,371) for a ship that is considered “dead” (never in my heart though) and was only super prominent within canon for one and like a half season with little bits and pieces here and there so I’m just really curious in terms of how supercat would have fared vs supercorp had cat stayed for the whole series and we got more interactions and storylines between her and kara

like would supercorp still be the most popular ship on the show (and pretty much the sapphic scene atm based on fic numbers) or would supercat stayed as the most popular ship since season one? I mean I know for a fact there would have been ship wars all of the place but ignoring all of that I’m definitely super curious about what would/could have happened had cat stayed in terms of ship dynamics

So I got an ask and while I was in the middle of answering it, Tumblr did its thing and now I can’t find it. But the gist of it was “Reboot Bruce did’t go crazy when Tim died because Tim isn’t his son in rebirth! They’re work buddies. He wanted vengence for Jason and Damian because they’re his sons!”

I’m pretty sure it was in response to this post i made a while back when i was being v sad about my boy timmy and wanted to spread those feels.

First of all - Tim is at least his ward in the Rebirth timeline - if not his son. I do struggle keeping up with timelines but according to everything I’ve read Rebirth keeps Tim’s original backstory - including the adoption. Even if the adoption wasn’t in Rebirth, in Tom King’s current run Tim refers to Bruce as his and Damian’s father:

If Bruce doesn’t consiter Tim a son, he’s got some things to clear up with Tim. 

Even if he wasn’t Bruce’s son, Bruce has always taken up a fatherly role to Tim due to the absense of his Biological Father, Jack Drake. The issue where Jack storms the Batcave is literally called “In The Shadow of Two Fathers”  (Robin (1993) - 125 for those curious.) Bruce has been and always will be a father to Tim. 

Bruce Wayne truest flaw is that he cares too much about everything - why then did he not care about his son literally vanishing? If anything it’s a mystery and he’s the worlds greatest detective - he should’ve been desperate to solve it. It’s just so ooc. Like it took him 20 issues to find out he was still alive. Bruce there wasn’t even a body.

tl;dr Im just emo about Tim, especially since DC loves to ignore he exists - I honestly think Bruce could’ve done more. He’s done more for lesser characters. That’s about it.

Mikhail only takes classes that are small enough to fit under his wingspan so he can keep them all safe. And Eva and Tiffany learn from the best and just get pissed off like their teacher.

And because he was a swan I gave him a life mate. The only other being that gets any softness from him.

Mewtwo doesnt have too much of a problem with Geller due to his soft spot for kids and pure desire for knowledge... but if hes gonna protect the other assholes then PERISH.

Fossil Mons come in two types-- Resurrected fossils which have the skin color of the primary coloring of their Pokemon form so they can be solid black or blue or red or w/e... Ancestors of ancient Pokemon have normal skin tones.

And another comic sketch idea... where Geller and Roswell are gifted with some fancy new Mega stones... Ros? Not too keen on the idea hes seen what can happen to a bitch when they Mega Evo... he aint got time for that. Geller goes HARD for SCIENCE.

I was also makin a team with the Pokemon that have the highest stats (non Legends/Psudos/Megas) but I got bored after Blissey. She has a Togekiss wife I didnt finish either... Oh well.

Shes a bold lass and prefers double battles with her support wife. She doesnt like using dangerous moves as its in her nature as a Blissey to heal.

I wanted to give Flaminio some people who missed him after he got spirited away by his Ghosts.

After he disappeared people looked for him but he was never found and years and years went by and people stopped looking. Even Clove and Ceto had to move on.

Koban is a loyal bitch though and he never let it go. He still wants his friend back. Hes an old boy now... so old people probably call him ‘Nekomata‘ and wonder when his tail is gonna split.

Meet Psudo the Mecha-Pangolin!

A creation of Tech the Bat and companion to his schemes, as well as another metal speedster to fight against Sonic. He was created using a distinct metallic alloy that were used in older models, discarded for being outdated. However, this alloy, Toonium, has properties to allow elastic limbs, greater durability and even quick self reassembly. All this leads to a very formidable opponent, even if they are a laxed out goofball.

My take on a more cartoony robot, mimicking the old days of Sonic as far back as AoStH and early Archie comics. What can I say? I am a sucker for Toons. Why do you think I keep using the same sign out phrase? Anyway, hope to show more of this toony mech in the future. Stay Tooned! (See, I did it again!)

I think I pinpointed why most of the AOW arc (in the show) doesn’t sit well for me, especially on Team Family’s side of things.

So to start, there are a few things I’d like to point out for those who don’t read the comics, some of the differences between how the AOW is handled on paper.

- Rick and co. do strike a deal with Gregory, the entire stabbing incident with Gregory happens. However, Rick and co. never launch a rescue mission to save a hostage at the Outpost, and don’t interact with any of the saviors until Negan makes his first appearance.

- The Saviors never knew about the Kingdom. 

Anywho, back to the show. 

Like, I always think back to how Ezekiel made a deal with the Saviors in exchange that no one got killed. Which is why this whole “Negan would have killed them anyway for the lulz” is so confusing to me, because the Kingdom is a literal testament that he wouldn’t do that. 

In the comics it’s much more quick and right to the point. Rick and co. meet Negan on the road, Maggie isn’t sick, etc. Glenn is killed, and then Alexandria is under Negan’s control until they decide to fight back. The sequence of events are a lot quicker and there’s not much sugarcoating it. The show fucked up with that a lot. 

It would have made much more sense had they gone the route they did with the Governor, where Rick sat down with him and discussed what was going to happen. I think what’s always bothered me about Team Family’s actions stem from the fact that there was absolutely no attempt at negotiation, no attempt at “hey, why don’t we just ask for a council with Negan to discuss terms.” like, hell, I would have been fine if they’d done that, and Negan had been like “nope lol.” but at least make an effort, or an attempt. At the end of the day it stems from bad writing, because Gimple and co were too worried about “ohh we can’t show negan until the bIG moment where he steps OUT of the trailer and bludgeons someone to death oooh (but we’re gonna make u wait like 6 months to see who he kills lol aint we clever) when they literally could have just, idk, followed the comics where Rick and co. leave the Hilltop and get blindsided by Negan, instead of an entire half season of bad Call of Duty reinactments and “lets delve into the human psyche with a female-focused episode with some Saviors that we have NO clue about, because the Sanctuary and Negan haven’t FUCKING appeared yet, so it’s just a bunch of ppl sayin psudo intellectual shit with no context.” Tbh it's why the fact that Rick and co. Stabbed 40 people in their sleep is lost on the audience, because we weren't given any reason to see them as anything but collateral. And when retaliation came it was a clusterfuck. In no way am I saying that “oh Negan is right to subjugate people,” but for me, personally, it’s hard for me to be 100% like “Oh Rick and co. tried to avoid a scenario that involved fighting, but it failed so they have to fight.” 

In the comics it was very much like “Oh shit Negan showed up and killed Glenn for no fking reason we’re gonna kick his ass.” which is a lot easier to get behind. It all comes down though to shitty inconsistent writing and it’s just….uGHHH. Idk. Anywho, what do you guys think? This kinda came to my mind during last nights ep when Rick and Negan were talking on the walkie and I was like “man this is the first time where Rick and Negan has voluntarily spoken to each other instead of it being a forced, violent circumstance.”
