I’ll have to take some better photos but this is the clamshell orchid. The sample plant was a beautiful black lipped clamshell orchid with greenish white tendrils. Reminiscent of a squid. $25 at the Krull-Smith show. First of its species in my collection!

‘Unicorn’

Orchid originating from SE Asia and the Pacific Islands, I wanted a cymbidium so a Cymbideae alliance fella helped curb that want after seeing two massive and gorgeous flowering cymbidiums on display at Krull-Smith. I cant remember which was which but I paid $25 and $35 for this and the Psh. Cochleata (clamshell orchid) altogether.

I didnt see any of this variety blooming but they had photos of the flower posted like with all the other nonblooming plants. This one stood out compared to the other Cyms and Grcym on sale
