The Blessing of the LORD Brings Wealth
1 The proverbs of Shlomo. A wise son makes a glad father; But a foolish son brings grief to his mother. 2 Treasures of wickedness profit nothing, But righteousness delivers from death. 3 The LORD will not allow the soul of the righteous to go hungry, But he thrusts away the desire of the wicked. 4 He becomes poor who works with a lazy hand, But the hand of the diligent brings wealth. 5 He who gathers in summer is a wise son, But he who sleeps during the harvest is a son who causes shame. 6 Blessings are on the head of the righteous, But violence covers the mouth of the wicked. 7 The memory of the righteous is blessed, But the name of the wicked will rot. 8 The wise in heart accept mitzvot, But a chattering fool will fall. 9 He who walks blamelessly walks surely, But he who perverts his ways will be found out. 10 One winking with the eye causes sorrow, But a chattering fool will fall. 11 The mouth of the righteous is a spring of life, But violence covers the mouth of the wicked. 12 Hatred stirs up strife, But love covers all wrongs. 13 Wisdom is found on the lips of him who has discernment, But a rod is for the back of him who is void of understanding. 14 Wise men lay up knowledge, But the mouth of the foolish is near ruin. 15 The rich man's wealth is his strong city. The destruction of the poor is their poverty. 16 The labor of the righteous leads to life. The increase of the wicked leads to sin. 17 He is in the way of life who heeds correction, But he who forsakes reproof leads others astray. 18 He who hides hatred has lying lips. He who utters a slander is a fool. 19 In the multitude of words there is no lack of disobedience, But he who restrains his lips does wisely. 20 The tongue of the righteous is like choice silver. The heart of the wicked is of little worth. 21 The lips of the righteous feed many, But the foolish die for lack of understanding. 22 The blessing of the LORD brings wealth, And he adds no trouble to it. 23 It is a fool's pleasure to do wickedness, But wisdom is a man of understanding's pleasure. 24 What the wicked fear, will overtake them, But the desire of the righteous will be granted. 25 When the whirlwind passes, the wicked is no more; But the righteous is an everlasting foundation. 26 As vinegar to the teeth, and as smoke to the eyes, So is the sluggard to those who send him. 27 The fear of the LORD prolongs days, But the years of the wicked shall be shortened. 28 The prospect of the righteous is joy, But the hope of the wicked will perish. 29 The way of the LORD is a stronghold to the upright, But it is a destruction to the workers of iniquity. 30 The righteous will never be removed, But the wicked will not dwell in the land. 31 The mouth of the righteous brings forth wisdom, But the perverse tongue will be cut off. 32 The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable, But the mouth of the wicked is perverse. — Proverbs 10 | Hebrew Names Version (HNV) The Hebrew Names Version Bible is in the public domain. PROVERBS S.O.A.P. ~ CHAPTER 10
Friday, 2/24/23
SCRIPTURE:
The earnings of the godly enhance their lives, but evil people squander their money on sin. ~ Proverbs 10:16
OBSERVATION:
Earnings:
Not necessarily financial...
The result of an investment... in His Word and in others...
Friendships...
Trust...
Understanding...
Love (of/from others?)....
Enhance - intensify, increase, or further improve the quality, value, or extent of - my life...
Squander - selfishly waste in a reckless and foolish manner | allow an opportunity to pass or be lost.
...and regret...
Fortunately, grace is not earned...
Unfortunately, grace can be squandered...
APPLICATION:
Look for and celebrate the enhancements - the blessings - in my life...
Look to enhance - bless - the lives of those around me as the Spirit leads me...
Be aware of squandering thoughts and actions and opportunities to share His grace and love...
PRAYER:
Enhancing Father God - forgive my times of squandering Your blessings and grace - of allowing the opportunity to follow Your commands and will for my life to slip by - May Your Spirit continue to point out opportunities to share Your blessings and especially Your grace in my life - In the same ways that Jesus lived Your will for His life... In His Name, Father, and for Your honor and worshipful praise in all things and at all time...
Enjoy your weekend - and reach out as you need to...
Yours, in Him... because He lives and has enhanced my life through you...

the thing with doctor who i think is that it gets better the more you know. maybe this is true of all writing but i only know doctor who so we'll focus on that. but i think it gets better the more you know this is why my fic is not very good. i dont know many things. i think if you have a background in like, just any field you can use you can make your doctor who stories more interesting. like linguistics maths physics and music are things that come to mind for me that i would like to know to make my doctor who stories more interesting but i think it can work with, like, almost anything. biology stuff also works well adds a lot. sociology stuff history. if you know how to sew really well or youve worked in meat factories. just, if you have deep knowledge about something this will enrich your doctor who stories (again, might be true for literally every writing)
but also things you can know that are just lived and not books. like i said with that post about different countries' doctor whos, every country would bring its own history and values and perspective to the stories. but also like for example the class stuff or the queer stuff you see with rtds stories like anything a writer Knows will make their stories more interesting
and thats why doctor who could literally be so good If They Diversified Their Fucking Staff. in every sense of the word. you need disabled people, trans people, racialised people, people with different religions but you need people who know other things than writing too! which i get is difficult because theyre mostly working in their fields and not writing but like there are writers who are not or have not only ever just been writers. or just get writers with some weird fucking hobbies!
even in the most basic way even if you keep your entire show white christian able-bodied man, if you have more of those you will have better stories. it will still suck! but like, less than if you only have 1 guy writing right? thats not a novel concept artists know this writers know this thats why they work together. and i get that making tv is very complex and theres a lot of interests and a lot of choices being made that arent even to do with the stories but i find it so frustrating to think about how good doctor who could be if they let other people in to put their knowledge and their perspective in the stories
#and not just in the writing but in Every Department Obviously#i just dotn know how television is made so i dont know. like. what those are#the secret good disabled trans decolonialist doctor who that lives in my head man#like you know that feeling when an artist like...........Gets a certain theme or smth#like Knows what to do with it bc they have a certain own experience or knowledge#like when an artist truly fucking knows what theyre doing#you know that feeling? when youre like this SAYS something abt the theme/trope/idea/whatevs#you know?#doctor who is so full of unused potential#i feel like we're spinning our wheels a little bit#and maybe others feel that too bc showrunners keep being like WE NEED NEW SHOCK BIG NEW#but like. youre not gonna get that with the same old perspectives!#for truly new good refreshing you need some new good refreshing people on the mic#anyway. just. frustrates me#10 to the master but it's me to doctor who the show: you could be so much more!#like 13 and 15 are fun right? with the idk new outfit and the rwandan proverb on the sonic. fucks. but#to use rtds own words. ridiculous craven feeble gesture also a little bit. i want like. substantially good stories#i want to feel like the writer knows what theyre talking about you know?#you know that feeling#anyway#you get what im saying#the secret good doctor who that lives in my head man#except. it doesnt live in my head. bc it lives in many otherp eoples head. by definition#but sometimes i read like fic by friends who fucking Know things and im like damn#damn!!!!! doctor who could be so much better!!!!!!#i also think when youre a writer whos only a writer theres the risk of chasing your own tail a bit#in that th elonger youre a writer the more you only start writing about writing bc thats what you Know#i think thats a risk#also not a novel concept pretty sure professional writers are aware of that one gfhkjghgjg theyre not stupid

A Wise Son, Speaking with Wisdom and Righteous People contrasted with Wicked People
1 A wise son brings joy to his father, but a foolish son brings grief to his mother. 2 Treasures gained by wickedness produce no profit, but righteousness saves from death. 3 The Lord will not allow the righteous to starve, but he frustrates the greed of the wicked. 4 Lazy hands produce poverty, but hardworking hands bring riches. 5 Whoever gathers crops in summer is a sensible son. Whoever sleeps at harvest time is a disgraceful son.
Wise Words and Wise Ways
6 Blessings crown the head of a righteous person, but violence covers the mouth of the wicked. 7 To remember a righteous person is a blessing, but the name of the wicked will rot. 8 A wise heart accepts commands, but a babbling fool will be ruined. 9 Whoever walks with integrity walks safely, but whoever follows crooked ways will be found out. 10 Whoever winks at evil causes trouble, and a babbling fool will be ruined. 11 The mouth of a righteous person is a fountain of life, but violence covers the mouth of the wicked. 12 Hatred stirs up a quarrel, but love covers all sins. 13 Wisdom is found on the lips of a discerning person, but a rod is appropriate for the back of one who lacks sense. 14 Wise people store up knowledge, but the mouth of a stubborn fool brings ruin. 15 A rich person’s wealth is his strong city. Poverty is the ruin of poor people. 16 The work of a righteous person leads to life. The income of a wicked person leads to sin. 17 Whoever practices discipline is on the path to life, but whoever rejects a warning goes astray. 18 Whoever conceals hatred has lying lips, and whoever spreads gossip is a fool. 19 When there are many words, sin never stops, but a person who restrains his lips acts wisely. 20 The tongue of a righteous person is fine silver. The heart of a wicked person has little value. 21 The lips of a righteous person shepherd many, but stubborn fools die for lack of sense. 22 The blessing of the Lord makes a person wealthy, and he adds no sorrow to it. 23 Carrying out a wicked scheme is a game for the fool, but wisdom gives pleasure to a person with understanding.
Contrasts Between the Righteous and the Wicked
24 What the wicked person dreads will come upon him, but the Lord will grant what the righteous desire. 25 When the storm has passed, the wicked person is no more, but the righteous person has an everlasting foundation. 26 Like vinegar to the teeth and like smoke to the eyes, so is a lazy person to those who send him. 27 The fear of the Lord will add days to a person’s life, but the years of wicked people will be cut short. 28 The confident hope of the righteous is joy, but the ambitions of the wicked will perish. 29 The way of the Lord is a fortress for a person who has integrity, but it brings destruction for evildoers. 30 A righteous person will never be toppled, but wicked people will not dwell on earth. 31 The mouth of a righteous person produces the fruit of wisdom, but a perverse tongue will be cut off. 32 The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable, but the mouth of the wicked produces depraved words. — Proverbs 10 | Evangelical Heritage Version (EHV) The Holy Bible, Evangelical Heritage Version®, EHV®, © 2019 Wartburg Project, Inc.
