Wow, thank you so much for the tag @fanfictasia !! I've wanted to participate in something like this forever!! 🎶✨️✨️

1. How many works do you have on AO3?

Right now? 66.

I really need to focus on (and finish) some of my WIPs, and that mean trying not to disperse my energy amidst one shots (no matter how much i love monthly challenges and fic exchange events). Also I'm very proud of that 66 count and want to appreciate it xd.

2. What’s your total AO3 word count?

3. What fandoms do you write for?

Star wars mostly (Vaderkin or my OC Sinvulkt), then Marvel (Dr Strange), Dream SMP (Dream), Le Visiteur du Future (Renard) and more recently Batman (Bruce Wayne) as well as Avatar: the last airbender (Zuko).

Plus the original stories I am supposed to write but almost never end up doing xd (the engagement in fandom compared to original stories make the switch hard xd).

I'll never know how my Dream SMP fic got so much engagement. Good timing at a moment the fandom was in effervescence, I guess. Scales of Embers scoring so high is also a surprise 0.0. I discovered it had that many kudos today. It’s a shame the Dr Strange fandom is small because I think my Dr Strange WIP What If Doctor Strange Lost His Humanity ? would have deserved a place here. It definitely does in my heart.

5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?

I try to! As a reader, I always feel super happy when the author shows that they’ve read and appreciated my comments. I know that personality an author who answers make me more likely to want to drop a comment.

As an author, I absolutely want to show how much I love every single comments, so I try to answer them all. But I get a little overwhelmed sometimes, bcs lots of other stuff going on irl or another reason. As such, it can happen that I don't feel the energy to answer a comment on the spot. And if I don't answer it on the spot (using the power of the wiggy dizzy nice happy feeling of getting a comment), I don't necessarily have the energy to answer later on. I currently have something like 60 unanswered comments I think? TT.TT

But rest assured that whether I answered or not, I absolutely adore and cherish every single ones!! Comments are amazing! ✨️.✨️

(This kind of engagement is one of the only reason I managed to settle into such an active rythm of writing after years of trying then dropping the hobby~)

6. What’s the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

Uhhh... This is a hard question here... Many of them have angsty endings XD

Mostly the ones at the beginning (the worst written ones xd). I wonder why~

I'll say amidst the 'old' fics from 2021, Day 8 - Screaming (Star Wars) would be the angstier one (or most horrible one ig xd).

But as far as recent fic go... While I haven't finished writing it bcs its wordcount exploded in my face, I already plotted / drafted it a few months ago and I know the ending, so I'll choose:

I noticed my kind of angst doesn’t have much success around these parts 🫠🤣. Oh well. I cherish it all the same :3.

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

Sometimes I think I wrote too many fics. It's hard to select one.

Uhhh... My fluffiest works are one shots in Of Feathers and Freedom serie, but they are part of the series so it’s not really an 'ending'.

I'll answer for the crackiest story rather than the happiest ending bcs all my finished fics ending are ominous open ending at best xd.

The Blob Adventures Of Excentrics Jedi (Star Wars)

Because it's cute blob drawings of our crazy team of OC in taaoej, and I love them (although we are all angst lovers in taaoej, so it's more crack-angst, and we don't know the ending bcs there isn't really one. Not yet at least. Hopefully never).

8. Do you get hate on your fic?

Just my own innervoice as far as I'm aware. But then I've always been rather clueless when people tried to 'hate on me'. The message usually just got lost somewhere in dreamspace immensity, never computing.

I've found the fandoms communities really welcoming at the very least!!

9. Do you write smut?

No.

I don't really enjoy reading smut. Nor romance for the matter. I don't think I'd enjoy writing it.

But maybe I'll try one day, for the sake of experimenting all genres.

10. Do you write crossovers?

I never did. I don't know why. Maybe I just never felt the need to mix characters and universes. There are amazing crossovers out there though, so who knows, maybe one day I'll try one.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Not that I'm aware of. In all honesty, I don't think my works are nearly popular enough to get stolen xd.

My writing style isn’t that good yet, and my dislike of romance when the majority of the fandom community is ship-powered means I end up in a corner quite niche. (A corner I love, that being said. Yay Crack, Angst and Gen~)

12. Have you ever had a fic translated?

No, but maybe I'll translate some of mine in french someday. Be it only so that I do write fiction in my native language from time to time.

13. Have you ever co-written a fic?

I’m still waiting for my co-author @purpleopossum to come back to me / get back in star wars mood to continue that one. 🫠

Can’t say my hopes are that high up after all this time, but it’s the redemption | healing part of the serie and I don’t really have fun writing alone redemption | healing part... i prefer doing the whole mayhem that create the injury in the first place. And with how long some of my fics hiatus are (and I got no excuse for those xd), it’s only fair for me to wait. (I did write more other works for the dragon Vader serie in the meantime xd).

I made an oath to myself to never leave a work unfinished though, so we’ll see. If in several years purple still doesn’t wish to continue it, or if she inform me she is dropping the story, I’ll try to make some kind of ending. It’s part of the game i guess.

Alternatively, the The Amazing Adventures Of Excentrics Jedi universe is a group of star wars OCs that we made together with @pat-the-togorian , @asteral-feileacan , @ct2002-rema and Xylian. I don’t know if that count as co-writing? We usually write our OCs pov.

But in all cases, co-writting is very fun and I’d definitely do it again if other opportunities arise in the future.

14. What‘s your all-time favourite ship?

The absence of ship is my all-time favorite ship. Otherwise, "main character / digging their own grave" would be my 'favorite ship' since I tend to synch with idiots snarky jerks disasters.

15. What’s the WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

To Fly Free Under The Morning Sun (Star Wars) that I mentioned for question 13? 🤣

Because it's my vent fic. I know the main plot line, I vaguely know the current arc, but no one can predict where the next arc will go. It's all pure impulse and while I have a vague idea of 'ending', I refuse to plan a path towards it. This fic specifically, I want to keep pure impulse. So I'd love for it to become some kind of "The NeverEnding Story". :3

16. What’s your writing strengths?

I write.

No seriously, it's not something I did four years ago appart from vent poems here and there. Writing is in itself a huge writing strenght!

Otherwise I'm also a bottomless well of idea. It's pretty neat.

17. What’s your writing weaknesses?

... romance?

Or dialogues. Lastly I have a lot of frustration around the transition from dialogue / transition / dialogue. I feel like I'm crap at properly timing that.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

It's fun. I do it for games sometimes. Since apparently writing normally is not chllenging enough for my brain sometimes. It did teach me bits of mando'a.

Recently for Sēċan (Star Wars) I decided last minute to put the whole droid dialogue in morse, and I regret none of it.

I'm usually only doing it for one shots though, and never 'official existing' languages until now.

22. favorite story you’ve ever written

undoubtedly hands down 100% Paradise Blue in 1872 and it's not even close (though I do love all my other fic too!).

Even though it's only about 500 words it took me like 3 days to write it, which i think is maybe the longest i've spent on any published fic yet (and i know relatively that is Not Long but still fjkdalsfl). Every word and reference and metaphor was so meticulously chosen, it was hard while i was doing it but it's extremely satisfying to see that deliberateness pay off. <3

I don't know, I kind of still can't believe I wrote it, because it feels like it was created by someone who is much better at writing than me lmfao. I'm just insanely proud of Paradise, one of my absolute favorite things is hearing how other people engaged with it because sometimes people will comment a brand new perspective or insight that i didn't even realize! Which is an insanely incredible interaction to have for sure :)

Honorary special mention also goes out to Lie de The (Memory Serves Me) because i quite love that one a lot too and i'm really proud of the poetic rhythm of that fic <3

38. do you reread your own stories?

if my previous answer did not tip you off, yes i love rereading all my own stories :D they are good and i hear the author is brilliant and also People Magazine's Sexiest Man Alive

40. which one of your stories would you most like to see as a movie/series

honestly, i think i'd most like to see Ralph Waldo Emerson Twilight adapted into a longer fic. as i was writing it, i had some ideas for a more thorough story with that same concept of post-EG Steve and Morgan becoming really close and starting to explore the things Tony left behind together as they piece together more information about his life. It's easy to imagine that this would be a mutual endeavor for them as Morgan tries to learn more about the caring and devoted father she remembers from her early childhood as opposed to the larger-than-life man who's memorialized across the world and who she's reminded of by everyone who meets her and Steve desperately tries to gain a little insight into what Tony's life was like during the 7 near-continuous years they were apart from each other. Was he happy, was he happy despite or because of the absence of the Avengers, what were his thoughts on Bucky and did he know how sorry Steve felt? Smaller things too, like how did he spend his days, would he go swimming in the lake, did he ever get antsy in this new domestic life or is this what he'd wanted but never known to desire all along? All the things he would've wanted to ask the man in person if he'd had more time, more courage. But he gets these faint echoes now, with the daughter Tony had loved and lived and died for, and even though it will never be near enough of what Steve wants, it's more than what he feels he deserves.

of course, this would mean actually writing all of that down and not to let anyone's hopes down but i wouldn't hold your breath on this one lol (though if anyone ever has written a similar story to this one please lmk!!!)

TRANS MAN TIMBER PLSSSSS I NEED THIS SERATONIN

so for some context for this headcanon: timber is afab, his family is from south asian descent, and his parents died when he was around ten

and this is LONG so buckle up !!!

timber was brought up knowing the general idea of a boy and a girl but he didn't really understand why he had to stick to one if he didn't feel like it. his parents tended to avoid the topic of gender and sexuality as a whole so he didn't have much to go by. he confined his thoughts of feeling more like a guy with gloriosa and she made sure he didn't face any queer discrimination from anyone to keep him safe

after their parents died, timber was kind of free to consume more diverse content since he had no one else to tell him not to, so he was pretty accepting of being gay and trans at a young age, reading books he asked gloriosa to get for him

he had to grow up fast so he ended up reading a lot of young adult at 12-13 (since there was more likely gonna be gay/trans ppl in those compared to books for his age)

despite not having a lot of trans rep, he had the internet due to his homeschooling. he was able to research a lot more abt being trans so he'd be more educated and helpful towards them (he sometimes brushed off the feeling of relating too hard to trans men, thinking he was just a really hardcore tomboy)

he realised he found himself attracted to girls and had various crushes but bc of the fact he felt like a boy, he mixed that up with attraction to boys (which he always 'had' since he thought he was a cishet girl at one point). but he still found boys cute and wanted to kiss them so :]

timber liked helping out at the camp a lot with wood and stuff since their dad at the time was the only "man" in the house. his dad didn't think anything of it and was just glad someone could help him out for once, so that continued on after they passed

timber preferred keeping his hair short since it got annoying bc of the curls. he kept it shoulder length until after his parents passed, then he asked gloriosa to cut it even shorter to the hairstyle he has now. my boy cried when he looked at himself in the mirror

it was around 14 where he realised he may be a boy and not a girl when his body started developing. he never got any bottom dysphoria so periods were never a massive thing for him (he just found them annoying) but he didn't like having boobs 😭

gloriosa managed to get T for him as a surprise one day and timber. like. SOBBED

she helps him take it when necessary until he got the hang of it himself and it just very helpful :(

timber noticed how much stronger he was getting after a few weeks on T and he got so excited. he was already strong beforehand so man just got stronger

he binds until he can get surgery which he gets at 18 (so yes in loe he is binding :>)

but it's actually rlly annoying bc man develops double d cups and is like . WHEN CAN I GET RID OF THESE THEY SUCK so he ends up only binding during camp sessions and doesn't when there aren't any campers at everfree

present day timber when someone comments rudely abt why he got top surgery and not bottom: LISTEN I JUST DIDN'T WANT FEMALE DOUBLE D BOOBS ON MY BODY IS THAT SO BAD???

he realised he liked people regardless of gender so he ids as pan! he's never really found a label for himself until he realised he's trans (he's known pre-loe)

he comes out to twilight after she tells him she's bi, so he comes out as pan and trans (a lot more nervous abt the trans bit but she's completely supportive abt it!!)

twilight gladfully reminds timber to take his hormones bc man forgets sometimes 😔 makes a timetable and everything and timber is just..... head in hands

timber is. so funny when ppl ask him invasive questions like it's none of your business !!!!

timber still likes wearing skirts occasionally and he pulls them off so well. he and flash went skirt shopping once

he lets rarity put make up on him at a time and he occasionally decks up

ppl ask him why he still wears feminine stuff and short answer is "i look better in it than you :)" but rlly, it doesn't give him dysphoria! timber doesn't personally associate his sex with his gender and doesn't feel like he needs to present the way society expects him too. he just does what he does to feel comfortable and doesn't give a shit what anyone else thinks!

timber goes to rarity to get some of his ethnic clothes styled in a little more feminine way (backless salwar for example) and just gets super giddy when he wears it

mehndi (henna) is typically for girls so he wore it as a child during eid and stuff but he didn't stop as he transitioned and always goes to gloriosa to get it done bc she does it really nicely

gloriosa tells him whenever he feels down that she's very proud of him and how far he's come and she'll always be there for him no matter what :(

timber's T ends up messing w his period so sometimes it does come, sometimes it doesn't and it's absolute hell. it used to be regular before but then. 😔 he doesn't get that bad of cramps anymore tho 😎

timber shaves! being south asian, he was bound to get a lot of body hair anyway but being on T just made it. Worse. he shaves frequently and just prefers it that way for himself!

even after timbertwi break up, twi still keeps reminding him to take his T. they're still very close friends!

flash walks in to timber taking his T one day and gets concerned bc he doesn't know so he's like . "timbie what r u doing....." and timber isn't comfortable yet telling him so he says he knows what he's doing and he's not comfortable telling flash yet. flash respects him and leaves the room until timber's done

timber ends up telling him sometime soon (like a few weeks) n flash is like "OHHH you were taking your testosterone, i'm so dumb", timber says "never stopped being dumb" and flash tackles timber

timber's pretty confident in himself after a while. that's where his ego shit comes from, he tries to hype himself up despite not beliveing it or having doubts but he does eventually and he's rlly proud of himself :}

I COMPLETELY FORGOT ABT HEIGHT but timber gained tall genes from his family so he was already pretty tall before he started taking T!! he's taller than flash and he teases amab flash all the time for it hehe

ok these answers are gonna be about my wip that I’ve been calling “wife dean fic” but that’s titled “men like me,” which is an alternate s13 in which dean says yes to au michael during the widow arc

4: Share a sentence or paragraph from your writing that you’re really proud of (explain why, if you like)

I just really like this bit from dean and cas’s reunion. “did it look cool like in the movies” ass

But out of the corner of his eye, Dean sees Michael’s true form lunge, and Jack yelps, and the world dissolves into nothingness.

An eyeblink later, the three of them are back in the bunker, and Jack’s saying “Oh, I guess I can fly with passengers now! Cool,” and Dean’s saying, automatic, “I told you, flying sounds stupid. Call it teleporting. Like Star Trek,” and then it all becomes too much for him, the fight and Michael and the inexpert flying and the way he froze all over when Cas appeared, and he’s throwing up on the war room floor.

20: what’s some meta (themes, symbolism, characterization) you want to ramble to people about?

one of the things im trying my best to get right is having jack learn “do as I say, not as I do” from Sam. sam considers jack worth standing up for in ways where he won’t stand up for himself, and protects jack in ways where he’s willing to throw his own life away. and Jack’s learning from Sam’s actions, not his words

3: what is one scene you’ve always wanted to write but can’t be bothered to write all the set-up and context it would need? (consider this permission to write it anyway)

THANK you for this question which I will shamelessly use to post a scene that it’s killing me to cut bc I had to cut the context. below the cut, a newly vampired Max Banes talks hunting with dean. it’s from an earlier version where sam’s hunter community is made of OG hunters not au hunters, but I ended up having to use au hunters as a shorthand. SOME version of this scene is going in my next (banes-centric) fic, i hope!

“You’re taking this pretty well.”

Max gives a short laugh, like he’s testing it out to see if he can find the humor in it. Dean isn’t sure if he succeeds. “Yeah, well. Vampires. Kinda hot, honestly, maybe I’ll pull better with a certain type of guy.”

“You sure you want that type of guy? I’ve met the kind of chicks who are into that Twilight crap, and man, they are not worth the effort.”

“Yeah.” Max’s mouth turns down at his reflection in the rearview mirror, and then he bares his fangs consideringly. “Not exactly Edward Cullen, but this is cooler. More useful than his teeth on a hunt until I can get it fixed, I’ll tell you that for nothing.”

“You’re still hunting?”

“Hah. Yeah, I get why that would be surprising. You, I know you have some sort of demon trauma, whatever. Me and Alicia, we weren’t raised to hunt monsters, though. We were raised to hunt witches. And witches are, they’re fuckin’ human, man. I don’t know.”

He pries up his lip to study the way his fangs retract in the mirror, avoiding Dean’s eye. Not that Dean is too interested in interrupting, anyway. He’s no good when people get philosophical about whatever got them this far in the life, so he tends to clam up and let them say what they’re going to say. They usually do.

Max isn’t an exception. “You know I was fifteen,” he says, his voice carefully conversational, “the first time I put Mama’s sawn-off against the back of a man’s neck. By that time, he’d killed eight people. Low-level hex bags, pretty amateur stuff, but the victims had no way of stopping him. I did. So I stopped him.

“I got home and I told Alicia what I did, and she just started crying. Like, instant waterworks, I’ve never seen her like that before or since. And I just knew she was thinking, I’m a witch. What if someone does that to me? What if it’s you?

“So after that, Alicia and me took a long vacation from our mom. She was pretty pissed, but she understood. And we decided, you know, that we would keep doing what we were trained to do, but not if we could help it. If we can bind witches, we bind them. If we can reason with them, we reason with them. If they’re just some poor idiot who needs to be taught or threatened into not getting into more than is good for them, we do that. But if not--” Max cocks an imaginary shotgun, the gesture practiced and ironic. “I’m not stupid. I know we’re probably going to hell for being judge, jury, and executioner. But we do our best to keep people from getting killed, either by witches or, you know. Me.”

Dean lets the silence stretch out. Tries to picture sudden, unstoppable tears on Alicia’s face, where he’s only ever seen determination or a cocky grin. Thinks about Dad telling him he might have to put Sam down like a mean dog that can’t be trusted. Thinks about Jack--

Max shoots a glance at Dean in the rearview mirror and glances down, looking suddenly self-conscious. He flips his sunglasses back on, too studied a gesture to be as nonchalant as he wants it to come off. “Look at me, giving you my whole sob story when I know you’ve seen worse. You old-school hunters, man, you’re the most emotionless, John Wayne bastards I ever met. You still wash your wounds with whiskey or are you not too cool for store-brand antibiotics?”

Dean feels a pang at that. The guy’s got him wrong, not that he knows how to communicate that. “Nah, cool won’t cure an infection, I learned that the hard way. And. You know.” He glances over at Max, catches him fidgeting with the arm of his sunglasses. Wills him to understand the hand he’s reaching out to Max. “Tough thing for a kid to do. Any kid.”

Max lets out a short breath, surprised. “Yeah, well. Guy had it coming. At least if I have to kill a witch, I know they dug their own grave. Creatures, though, they sound like a lot more trouble than they're worth. Don’t know how you can tell which ones are gonna be a problem.”

“You can’t,” Dean says. “Some hunters put down any they can get their hands on. Some let ‘em go if they seem harmless enough. Sam and I’ve done a little of both.” And both have gone bad on us, Dean thinks but doesn't say. Both have left him waking up feeling like a heavy weight was pressing down on him, a weight of something he did, a worry that he let a killer go.

“Well, I promise not to bite anyone that doesn’t deserve it, and you promise to tell me if you’re going through one of your kill-anything-with-fangs phases, deal?”

“I wouldn’t do that to you, man,” Dean says, low. Something in his voice makes Max look to him, then back out the window again.

when the hwangs move in next door, it doesn't take you long to get acquainted with their family. the "for sale" sign in the yard next door was finally replaced with "sold" the other day, and you're sitting on your hands and knees in the garden when the moving van, followed by a car, pulls into the driveway. curious, you squint in the bright daylight as you peer over at the family that climbs out of the car. a couple, who you assume are the mother and father, move to help start carrying things into the house while a boy around your age helps a toddler out of the car. as soon as the toddler's feet hit the ground he takes off running laps around the yard, giggling and laughing as his older brother keeps a watchful eye on him. you smile at the sight before returning to your garden work; you're almost done clearing the weeds and then you can finally start planting the wildflowers your mom gave you.

"what are you doing?" a small voice says from directly behind you. the voice startles you and you almost drop the packet of seeds you're holding. you recognize the little boy from earlier, and once your heart rate returns to normal you give him a warm smile.

"i'm planting flowers! do you want to help me?" you ask, holding out the packet as an offering. the child nods and kneels down in the grass beside you, hands splayed out eagerly. you gently shake a few seeds into his tiny hands, and he giggles excitedly.

"now just sprinkle them all around in the bare dirt, like this," you say as you demonstrate. the child tries to copy your actions, but he ends up dropping most of the seeds in the one spot.

"good job!" you say anyways, holding your hand up for a hi-five. he shrieks in joy and his tiny hand connects with yours with a smack. "now we have to press down on the dirt. i'm going to use my hands, but do you want to stomp your feet?" you ask.

"yeah!" he says excitedly, proceeding to march around the little square of dirt where all your seeds are.

"kami!! there you are!!" a very concerned voice calls from across the yard. you turn to see the older boy rushing over towards you. "don't ruin people's gardens!" he says as he gets closer.

"oh it's okay, i told him to! he's helping me plant wildflowers," you explain. now that he's up close, you notice just how beautiful the boy is as you look up at him from your position on the ground, hands and knees covered in dirt. you suddenly feel a little self-conscious, and you hope your light sunburn is enough to cover your blushing cheeks.

"oh. well then i guess it's okay," the boy says with a shy smile (and you could swear he's blushing too, although it could just be the sun).

"hyunjin, are you going to stay and help us?" the toddler asks, looking up at his big brother.

"only if it's okay with your new friend here," he says, looking down to you.

"i guess so," you tease. "i'm y/n, by the way."

"well, nice to meet you y/n. my brother kami seems to really like you," hyunjin comments as he sits down beside you. the two of you watch as kami continues stomping around the garden until he seems satisfied.

"what's next?" kami asks eagerly.

"now we have to water the seeds," you say, picking up the watering can you filled up earlier. "i'm going to help you because it's really heavy," you explain, and kami places his hands on yours as you start to pour a light layer of water.

"hyunjin, you help too!" kami demands, and hyunjin places his hands on top of both of yours with a soft giggle, and you try not to get too visibly excited at the contact. together, the three of you water your garden together.

"okay, now we wait! it'll take a little while for the flowers to grow, but you can come over any time to check on them," you explain. "i have an extra packet of seeds if you want so you can start your own garden, then we can compare!" you say, handing a packet over to kami.

"yay!! hyunjin, let's go plant them right now!! bye y/n, i love you!" kami says as he blows you a little kiss before running over back to his yard.

"your brother's really cute," you say as you stand up, brushing the dirt off and offering a hand to help hyunjin up. he takes your hand and stands up, although his fingers linger on yours a little longer than you were expecting.

"i know...but i'm cuter," hyunjin says with a wink. "i gotta go help unpack, but i'll see you around y/n! we've got all summer to spend together," he says, waving as he heads back home. you let out a sigh, glad hyunjin can't see the major heart eyes you're sending his way.

a few weeks later and school's finally over; summer can really begin. you walk home with hyunjin like you do every day, passing by kami's preschool and picking him up on the way. as you walk past your house kami rushes to your patch of wildflowers for his daily inspection.

"Y/N LOOK!! FLOWERS!!" he yells excitedly. you and hyunjin hurry over, and sure enough, a few tiny buds have started to blossom. "they're so pretty!! just like you!" kami says.

"don't be silly!" you say with a laugh, ruffling his hair.

"hey, kami is never silly," hyunjin says with a smirk. you make eye contact with him and feel the familiar butterflies in your stomach; these past few weeks you've spent getting to know hyunjin have lead to an undeniably strong attraction towards him--you're fairly certain hyunjin feels the same way; the amount of times he "accidentally" bumps into you or turns to brush dirt off your face (you weren't even outside the last time he did that) or makes a flirty comment are pretty clear signs to you your feelings are reciprocated. hyunjin does, however, face some tough competition--kami seems to be convinced you're his girlfriend, to hyunjin’s amusement. Kami’s little hands always grasp onto yours on the walk home, and he never leaves without a tight hug around your legs. whenever you catch a glimpse of hyunjin during kami's attempts at romance your heart skips a beat at the sheer adoration on hyunjin's face as he watches you interact with his brother. you know kami is important to hyunjin, so you make a special effort to take good care of kami (it's not hard, considering how cute he is).

the doorbell rings, and you get up from where you've been reading on the couch to answer it.

"hey kami, what's up?" you ask, crouching down to his height.

"hyunjin wants to talk to you, can you come over?" he asks giggling, not even giving you a chance to answer before he runs away to his house. you follow him, confused as to why hyunjin wouldn't just come to talk to you himself--you're always over at each other's houses anyways. you walk through the front door of the hwang household, and kami points you towards the back door.

"he's out there!!" kami says, vibrating with excitement. you cautiously open the back door, and your hands fly to your mouth as you look around, and it's all you can do to keep yourself from crying. hyunjin walks up to meet you by the deck stairs, arm looping around yours as he guides you down to the lawn. a myriad of warm fairy lights are strung all around the yard, woven in between a large assortment of planters and bushes and patches of flowers--you don't think you've ever seen this many flowers in your life; frankly, it puts your own garden to shame. the setting sun casts a golden glow over everything, and hyunjin leads you to the middle of the yard so you can admire everything. he takes your hands in his, looking over your shoulder towards the back door. "kami, now!" he shout-whispers, and you turn to see kami pressing a button on the little speaker set up. you gasp and turn to hyunjin with a smile when your favourite song begins to play, its slow, sweet melody flowing through the summer night air and filling your heart with so many emotions you don't even know how to express them. you feel your eyes begin to water and you let out a nervous laugh, smiling and looking down at the ground.

"what do you think," he asks softly, gently lifting your chin up to meet his gaze. his eyes search yours but already he already knows the answer. one arm curls around your waist, pulling your body closer against his, and his other hand goes up to support yours. slowly, you begin to dance to the music, the evening grass cool on your bare feet.

"hyunjin i--i love it, i don't even know what to say," you say, your sun-kissed skin growing hotter by the second.

"then don't say anything," he says, and suddenly his lips are on yours. to say you hadn't dreamed of this moment would be a lie, but you never thought it would be like this. hyunjin pulls away only to rest his forehead on yours, and your noses are pressed together as you dance and smile, the first stars appearing in the twilight sky.

"y/n...will you be my girlfriend?" hyunjin asks, his voice barely a whisper, and he's so close you can feel his breath on your lips. you answer him with another kiss, pulling him impossibly closer.

"yes, of course. i'd have to be absolutely insane to say no to you," you say. the two of you continue dancing as the song runs its course. a tiny pair of arms wrap themselves around your legs, and you look down to see kami peering back up at you.

"are you boyfriend and girlfriend now?"

"yes kami," you say, almost not believing it's finally true.

"hyunjin!! you promised y/n could be MY girlfriend!" kami says, pouting at his older brother. hyunjin throws his head back in laughter, then pats kami on the head.

"i guess we'll just have to share," he says. "i know, y/n's just so amazing i bet everyone wants to be her girlfriend. i mean just look at her!" he says, turning his gaze to you. "you're so beautiful," he says as his eyes meet yours. hyunjin bites his lip and pulls you in for another soft kiss, not able to refrain any longer. the kiss triggers a screech from kami, and you pull apart to look down at him.

of the shows he has audition questions waiting for him in his email for, our songs is the one ash dreads less, but he can’t say he’s fully excited about it either. it aligns far more with his interests and where he wants his career to go, yes, but his interest had waned as soon as he realized it’d be a competition show, which means invasive cameras and almost inevitable evil editing for him at some point because it’s easy to make the one who doesn’t want the cameras in his face the bad guy.

it’d be inaccurate to say he doesn’t want to turn his songwriting into something for the public to consume. he’s pretty sure that’s most of the purpose of his songwriting, but he doesn’t want to turn it into a spectacle.

management is insistent, though, and fighting against an opportunity that’s focused on his songwriting and producing abilities would only fuck him over later. something he can’t risk when he’s asking for so much freedom from bc with his next album. he holds on to the part of him that has some optimism about the show and squeezes it for all its worth as he sets up his phone camera for the interview.

What inspires you to write songs?

the first question is already reminding him of another reason the show rubs him the wrong way: more lying about his art. he can’t say all of his songs are inspired by the experiences he’s had and the feelings he’s felt because he has far too many love songs, heartbreak songs, songs about desire, for that to go over well with a certain subset of fans. “inspirations exist anywhere.” he does have that inked on his body permanently, so it’s not a false thing to proclaim he believes. “i write from what i go through and what i see others go through. movies, art, quotes, the color of the sunset on a white sand beach or the color of the ceiling through the dim light of twilight. everything and anything can inspire me to write songs. that’s why i do it in the first place, because it comes so naturally.” he hasn’t prepared for these questions as much as he had for secret sibling and he’s surprised by how honest of an answer he’d managed to give within the limitations.

What is your favorite song you’ve written?

he almost quips ‘haven’t you heard not to ask a parent their favorite child?’, but, one, he doesn’t want to come off as rude to the casting directors and, two, he does have favorites and least favorites of the songs he’d written. picking one is hard, though. is it untitled, 2014? it’d done well, if that’s any indication of it being a successful songwriting feat, but singing it is still hard on him, so his feelings toward it are too ill-tinted to be his favorite. so it ends is a recent favorite, but that doesn’t mean it’s his favorite overall. d (half moon) is one of his favorite songs to sing and he’s quite proud of it, but the album it belongs to taints it.

“’help’ has a special place in my heart.” he doesn’t explain further.

Are there any songwriters you look up to? If so, whom?

“i look up to anyone who’s been able to make a career out of songwriting. it’s not an easy art to succeed at. songwriters i look up to... well, a lot of modern, young songwriters make the list... taylor swift. she’s mastered how to capture an emotion in song like no one else. the weeknd’s music has inspired me a lot. lauv, he’s overlooked, but i look up to his ability to write and produce so much of his own music in the way he wants to. billie eilish and finneas created an amazing album that i could never hope to live up to. they’re all great songwriters and producers doing exciting things. i do look up to them, but i have more classic legends i grew up listening to: billy joel, morrissey, bob dylan, paul mccartney. you have to respect the people who really know how to write a hit for others, too: max martin, jack antonoff are legends of today’s popular music. george gershwin is a composer i’ve loved for as long as i can remember.” ash had practiced his answer to this question, but he feels like he’s rambling anyway. “i grew up primarily inspired by american and british songwriters, but there’s something to be said for the ability to transcend language with music, and i admire stromae for that, though i don’t speak french. there’s something to learn from every songwriter, in my opinion, because we’re all writing from different places and backgrounds.”

What are your goals as a songwriter?

he’s been asked this question many times before and the answer rarely changes. “i want to make music that speaks to people. the world... as people, we’re taught a lot that what we feel is wrong or we need to keep it in and... it can make us feel alone. i want my music to make people feel a little less alone. it doesn’t have to make them happy. it’s not normal or healthy to be happy all of the time. there’s value in allowing yourself to feel sadness too... i want people to hear my songs and feel something. that’s all we can do, really, as humans, is feel.”

What do you hope to achieve by being on this show?

answering the questions had gotten him carried away and only now he’s reminded that this is all for an audition for a show he doesn’t really think he wants to be on. “uhh...” he regrets not practicing his answers thoroughly after he reads the question aloud. “i want to share my music and grow as a songwriter.” that’s what he wants to do, whether the show is a part of the equation or not.

another audition done... or, halfway done, and ash recites another ‘thank you for your consideration’ before he goes through the motions of ending the recording and reviewing it to make sure he doesn’t have to re-film before sending it off to his manager with the second part of his audition.

After all the heart-stirring places Alex showed you, there was hardly more you could take once the sun began to set. Unlike the approach of the evening, Alex’s energy was not dying down. Not even a little bit. He seemed even more animated with his fingers laced tightly with yours. Zipping along the walkway, you were forced to pick up the pace when Alex skipped, twirled you around and then pulled your hand under his arm and clutched it to his chest. There was no way you couldn’t be rushed along. And the smile on his face was unlike anything you had ever seen on him before.

His excitement was elating to behold. It was just as good as seeing the palaces and statues of the hometown that he was so proud of and eager to parade you through. All throughout the day he had snatched you from this location to that place and told you in grand detail about all sorts of historical facts that you had never heard before. He chattered away like a maniac but the sound of it was musical and you felt as though you could listen to him speak to you for the rest of time and never have to say anything back. 

He was always so happy and energetic which was something you desperately needed in your life. Too many dark times had befallen you, leaving you wondering if there was anything that could cut you free of the anchor that held you back from the adventures you wanted to have.

The answer was Alex and his answer to everything was to have as much fun as possible. Even if that fun meant getting into mischief. 

It wasn’t until you turned around to face his glowering expression that you realized exactly why he had brought you to such a secluded place. The sun continued to dip into the horizon and there was only enough twilight left to see his white teeth flashing at you. Can you tell me about a dream that you still think about sometimes? I have a lot of really memorable dreams, including weird recurring-ish nightmares, but one I still think about that’s less unpleasant is a dream I had in high school about being reborn. It was like I went into a coma and when I woke up I was a new person, but I had chosen to do this somehow? And my room was full of people I knew but I couldn’t remember them anymore. I still loved them, though, and I wanted them to be happy for me, and I just felt like....really positive even though I had lost all my memories and knowledge. What is your most surreal experience? I have no idea, I feel like most of the things I perceive as surreal are mostly due to internal factors? Like I have a lot of deja vu so my biggest sense of surreality (shut up computer that’s totally a word) is from that kind of “how is this happening when I know what’s going to happen” perception.

Since you were getting some mean asks, I thought I'd send you a good one to balance it out! What are your favorite Dean episodes in SPN? (I found that a lot of my faves were generally either Dean or Cas centered) and if you could hang out with Mr. Ackles, what would you want to talk about? :)

I’m contractually obligated to preface this by saying I always think there’s some Dean goodness in every ep, but if we’re talking whole eps…hmm. These aren’t all my favorite eps & I had to leave off a few eps that had some of my favorite scenes bc it wasn’t a ‘whole’ ep & I didn’t want this list to be a mile long lol.

1x6 Skin: Writing holes aside, I loved this ep for Dean. The 1st 5 eps we got plenty of hints there was a lot more to the guy than this smart alec tough guy he was showing the world but when the shifter started talking about Dean’s thoughts it was our first real look at how much he was really holding in inside & ya knew it was the tip of the iceberg. I wanted to know more asap…& protect him forever.

2x20 What is & Should Never Be: Is there even a Dean girl out there who doesn’t love this ep? You get such a rollercoaster of emotions with this gem. It starts off like wtf is happening but hey this seems ok…some good times…oops, things aren’t perfect here…crap, it’s all fake & I’m actually dying…but it’s kinda better here & I wanna stay. I cry like a baby just thinking abt the graveyard scene & when Dean tells Sam abt it at the end isn’t much better. “I wanted to stay so bad.” nearly killed me. You were right there w Dean every step of the ep. It hurt & it’s all Jensen’s damn fault.

4x16 On The Head of A Pin: This one…I hate to see Dean in pain but I love to watch Jensen act it out lol. It was all so heart-wrenching; from Dean pleading with Cas not to make him go down that road, to him putting on his torturer hat, to becoming the torturee, then him being completely broken mentally & physically at the hospital…gah! Dammit to hell, Ackles. How dare you.

5x4 The End: My favorite episode, period. I loved every damn second of it. In part bc it raised half a million questions & I’d kill for a spin-off series of those 5 years but also the actual ep was perfect. The Deans scenes were amazing. I remember sitting there watching being like Ok, I know he’s the same person & same actor playing him but damn if 2014!Dean wasn’t completely different than Dean. It’s a bit conflicting watching bc part of me is wanting to side with Dean but the other part can completely understand how 2014!Dean became what he did & yes there may be “something broken in him” but he’s still the guy taking care of everyone but himself & he deserved better.I seen a lot of posts saying 2014!Dean went dark/bad but I don’t see it. I see the same Dean we’ve always had who was put in impossible circumstances & he’s beaten, hurt & tired. I’m still pissed he was killed. 

6x5 Live Free or Twihard: I loved Dean bashing the “Twilight” stuff before he became a vamp. And the general badassery when he took out a whole damn nest. I’m just a bit disappointed they didn’t show all the kills but the network threw out a “decapitation limit” lol

9x5 Dog Dean Afternoon: This one just amused the shit out of me & I love dogs so it had to make the list.

9x11 First Born: I’m trash for Dean & Crowley team ups so that part was great. Dean had more of a reckless attitude & I’m a fan of that too. Dean & Cain had a good dynamic. 

9x23 Do You Believe in Miracles: Confession time; I didn’t think Dean becoming a demon was as obvious as a lot of people seemed to so I did enjoy the surprise at the end. That damn death scene *cries for five years* It hurt, PHYSICAL PAIN, to watch. Dean struggling to talk & saying it was better this way...then his last words “I’m proud of us” about damn time he gave himself a little credit. lol I was amused at the beginning that they just left Dean, veteran hunter, locked in a room w the supplies to escape. Really?

S10 Demon!Dean (I’m gonna lump this as 1 ep bc reasons): He was so much fun & “The year of the Deanmon” that the stupid show teased is why I have trust issues! We were robbed!

10x14 The Executioner’s Song: I liked how conflicted Dean was. He didn’t want to kill Cain but he had to kill Cain. He knew it the entire ep yet he still pleaded with Cain to tell him he didn’t have to do it. The fight scene was pretty bad ass. And that look of vulnerability when he fell into Sam’s arms really wrecked me. He was so sure he wasn’t gonna come back from killing Cain.

10x22 The Prisoner: This makes the list bc I’m twisted & I love me some dark homicidal Dean. My annoyance is only that they didn’t show him taking out more of that monster family.

12x11 Regarding Dean: In typical Spn fashion the ep went from amusing to painful. Dean with little bunny!Dean & going on tangents about everyone loving waffles & being the cutest little bean laughing at scooby-doo...then we get smacked in the feels by Dean killing us with that mirror scene. That ending montage with Dean riding the mechanical bull...well, i didn’t know I needed that in my life but I’m glad I found out.

Onto the second question (if ya stuck with my long ass answer lol)

I’d ask Jensen a million questions about behind the scenes stuff. I want to know about all the ad libs that made it into eps that we don’t know. All the script changes that he (or any actor) made, all the times when it said “do/say something Dean would” in his scripts. And then I’d go through a ton of my fav scenes & ask why he did it this that way/what was his motivation/thought process. And I’d like to get some candid answers on what he hasn’t liked, would have done different, dropped plots he’d have like to explore more, anything they haven’t done that he’d like to.

And I’d talk his ear off about how he IS a damn rock star (so he can stop saying no he isn’t, the lil shit) & how awesome it would be if he made a record & offer some helpful suggestions on what songs to cover for it.

And this last one is def shallow but in fantasy land we need no dignity, amirite? We all know damn right well if Spn were on a premiem chanel that Dean’s “craps” & “friggins” would be different words. Jensen has even said as much; that he cringes when friggin is in a script bc that wouldn’t be what Dean would say. So anyhoo, I’d pick a handful of CW edited down lines & have him redo them with what Dean would actually say...in Dean voice, naturally.

Q : whats your biggest influence that sounds nothing like your own music

MB : we love PC Music even though we don't really sound like it

Q : out of everything you’ve made, what song is your all-time fave/which one are you the most proud of?

MB : We think Set Me Off is super underrated, but usually our fave is whatever the newest thing we write is

MB : hmmm probably move slow, we re-did the melody and production a few times before we settled on the disco vibes

Q : What made you guys decide to go for shorter song lengths, or was it somethjng that just happened naturally?

MB : We got tired of waiting so long to release official singles, wanted to do low-pressure quick songs that we could get out to our fans sooner!

Q : Did you have a specific inspiration for Neon's music video, or was it just the whole vaporwave aesthetic in general?

MB : that video we actually didn't do ourselves, we found that archival footage of the couple and had that intro sequence sone but we sent it to our talented friend Matt Lewis who added the whole vaporwave element, we really weren't too aware of that whole world at the time! But it really worked well with Neon

Q : do you like the band Superorganism?

MB : haven't really listened to Superorganism, we'll check them out!

Q : Only thing I don’t like is the redbone cover to be honest with you and I’ve gone through your YouTube and soundcloud

Q : i just have to say, i think i've streamed your one song Only If You Want It a million times. it's such a bop and i think it's a great song to introduce people to your work. what was your inspiration for that song and the retro style music video?

MB : yes we think OIYWI really encapsulates what we're aiming to do musically, really glad you like it! Spice Girls, specifically Say You'll Be There, was a huge inspo. We really love that video but didn't have a plan for it AT ALL when we filmed all that footage of me with our vhs cam hahah so it was a mess but then we figured out the word art aesthetic and the bugs and it all came together

Q : How does it feel to be the highlight of my terrible day? Because once I saw the tweet I felt quite a bit better, plus my magbae playlist keeps me calm

MB : it's pretty different for each song, only thing that stays the same is that we write lyrics after melody, not all writers do that! but a song can start with a beat or chords or sometimes melody, from either of us!

1. if someone wanted to really understand you, what would they read, watch, and listen to?

Hm, well I guess this is three questions omg but I’ll just go down the line. If they wanted to really understand me they’d have to read the Bible, which I know is saying a lot in one thing. But the reason I am the way I am is because of the things I’ve learned from that book and I would not be who I am without it. Of course I actually haven’t been able to read the whole thing yet but I take a lot of who I am from it & it’s just something that’s shaped me as a person? Oh but also I really don’t read books much anymore, but if I had to give another one it would be The Last Song? Maybe? ( The book is better than the movie, even tho I like the movie, the books better ) It just talks a lot about forgiveness & stuff and it was a lesson I really needed to learn at the time I read it & also am still learning. OH and also Crazy Love by Francis Chan, which is like a christian book, but it’s also had a huge impact on me, okay but onto watchin’.

Okay this is hard because there isn’t one full thing you could watch where the whole thing has impacted me. But there are a lot of movies I’ve learned from, ( and also since this doesn’t say specifically movies ) there are also a few speeches that I’ve really learned from ( and people would probably be able to understand me better if they watched them. But I can’t name those right now? But, I’d have to say, like, not as a whole, but Dr. Who, at least some specific episodes. Uh, Captain America?? The Help? There are more but I have a hard time naming movies/shows.

Okay and then music, fricken music, okay I could put so so so so many songs down, songs are like the soul of my life & help make me, me BUT I’m just going to give you ONE because if I didn’t this would go on forever and TWO it’s kind of my theme song but I Was Here, by the queen Beyonce. Is like, hands down my favorite *what makes me, me* song. I could name a lot more. I could make a 24 hour long playlist. But I won’t bc that would take forever. 

2. have you ever found a writer who thinks just like you? if so, who?

Yes, There have been a few and most of them are not on anymore but, Kae I think I can solidly say we think very similarly on just, like, how to develop muses, how to work out characters and how REAL they’re supposed to be, you know? Characters can, and should have flaws and no one has tons of perfect relationships. Real life is messy & writing should reflect that & I think we are just hella synced with that message & feeling and she’s just lovely so yeah @spookylip is bae & we think alike ( obviously bc we took those selfies that matched wITHOUT EVEN KNOWING ) we are #one

Okay so I used to not like my name so much ‘cause it was really bland & there were a lot of other girls named rebecca when I was in school, then people started calling me rachel so it was like ‘my name is totally forgettable’ ( or i was i dunno ) but over the past few years I’ve started to love it, though someone ruINED the meaning of it for me *side eyes that kinky anon* but I don’t really care & I love my name now, just, never ever call me becky or I will murder u in ur sleep. :))))

5. do you think of yourself as a human being or a human doing? do you identify yourself by the things you do?

I was slightly confused reading this but I re-read it & now I get it. I think at the moment, or for the longest time I’ve been a human being, like, there are just no opportunities right now for me to be doing what others my age are, or even younger than me. Not only that but I have to work on a lot of anxieties of mine, but that being said I don’t think I’m doing nothing. What I’m doing is small, yeah, but I try to do the best I can with what I have & I have a lot of faith that things happen for a reason & right now I’m keeping things going in my family & trying to better myself, no matter how many downsides that has, sort of. & I do Identify myself by the things I do, mostly because in doing something you have the opportunity to help someone. I try to do the right things, sometimes I do, sometimes I don’t but it’s a daily thing, y’know?

6. are you religious/spiritual?

Yah. You can see that with some of my answers but I am, though I know right now a lot of people assume that if you’re religious ( especially christian, on this site at least ) that it automatically means you’re this, this & this *insert any form of ism or phobic term* but that’s really not how it works. We’re all sinners & no matter what that still doesn’t change the way God feels about us ( no matter what, we, as humans think is sin, or sinful ) I could go on a lot about this topic, honestly it’s a big part of who I am. But personally, I love God, I have a personal relationship with him that I try to work on daily & grow with him daily, my God is all loving and I just wished more people my age, or at least people on here knew that?? I dunno, there’s just so much rhetoric surrounding Christianity & most of it is wrong & I just??? Mmmm I’m getting off topic but yes! I am! It’s like a huge part of what keeps me going, I love Jesus.

7. do you care about your ethnicity?

YES. Oh my Gosh yeah, okay well I’m white, lmao, but where I come from is still like, really important to me. It used to not be. I actually used to be kind of… not ashamed but embarrassed when my Mom did really dutch things. Like, ok backing up, My grandpa moved here from the Netherlands when he was in his early teens around the time that the holocaust happened, though I couldn’t give you the exact date because I’m hella forgetful but he came with his parents and he met my Grandma and u know the deal it goes down the line. But anyways I used to like, not like the things that came with being dutch, like, I just thought it was all stupid & silly, like clogs & doilies & stupid little things like my great grandma & grandpa always used to use forks & knives with everything because it was a custom where they came from & like, it’s all small things but over the years I’ve just learned to be really proud of where my family came from? My Grandpa went through a lot to come here, he saw a lot of things he never talked about and I didn’t know him well because I was young when he died but I just really love embracing my heritage there & stuff. 

Like I’m white yes, and I’m basically a ‘mystery white’ ‘cause my dad is a mutt  & my mom isn’t fully dutch either. I’m one of those 10% Irish 25% Hungarian 50% Dutch & 15% other type of whites, but??? I’m still proud of all of it?? Like I love learning about where I came from & who I am & I think everyone should be proud of all parts of their ethnicity. As Matthew Montgomery said: “ Love all your percentages. “  

8. what musical artists have you most felt connected to over your lifetime?

shiT fam, this is getting so long & it’s gonna get longer, okay let me just do like… two, tha two tops…

Demi Lovato: Obviously, I mean… obviously She is one of the people I look up to most and I don’t know where I would be if I never had her & her music in my life. She’s taught me so much about strength and confidence and overcoming something when it looks like it will be impossible. She’s helpped me grow into someone who cares & wants to learn & help others and I just admire her so much for what she’s done, for herself, for others and for never giving up when she could have. Not to mention the ballads that have helped me through really hard times, or the speeches she’s given that remind me I’m strong & capable 

Taylor Swift: *que everyone groaning who’s reading* anYWAYS I can’t even honestly write down or explain how many times that Taylor and her music has helped me when I felt like I wanted to give up, or how many times I have cried listening to songs that should not have resonated with me but did. She’s helped me to realize not only that I am important but that no matter what, despite what people may do to me, or make me feel that I’m still important and worth working on. She’s also shown me what goofing off can do to make you feel better, how not giving a shit has helped me move on from past relationships and how being unapologetically ME is okay

In fact, I feel like Demi’s taught me those things too. But they’ve both done it in different ways, which I think shows how beautiful loving yourself can be. Because you don’t have to love yourself how another person loves themselves. You have to figure out your own, unique way to view yourself & believe in yourself & love yourself & I think that’s just really beautiful. Now, they both hate each other ( or at least severely dislike one another ) but I just feel like they’ve both done so much for me and I don’t think I could thank either of them enough for showing me strength, beauty, confidence and love in the way they have. It’s insane how much of an impact people can have but they have. I could go on but I woont I promise.

9. are you an artist?

YES I am, though my skill can be debated I love drawing when I’m in the mood & painting & jst everything that has to do with art. 

10. do you have a creed?

I don’t know if this means religious, or… otherwise… but I mean, technically I’m a baptist christian ( i think? not sure anymore ) but like, I am Christian, I feel like, sadly, the beliefs I hold are a bit left leaning & less erm, strict? When it comes to how I interpret the bible, where as a my family is different, I think? I don’t know, but I just try to follow the teachings of Jesus & his disciples. “ Love others as I have loved you - John 15:12 “ I do go by other teachings but I think that’s the top of my list. Jesus loves us unconditionally, he died for us, lived for us, and rose again so we didn’t have to burn up in hell for eternity. The least I can do is show everyone the same kind of unconditional love he’s showed me throughout my life & make sure people know that though we do sin & are inherently bad at heart, he still loves us despite our downfalls and doubt. I don’t know if that really answers this question but I had to look up creed & this is the best answer I came up with SO, thank u for sending this in and I love u
