i know you said hotch and reader baby requests… but what about hotch’s daughter that he met as an adult meeting Jack for the first time? two babies in one! love you 💕
—You meet your little brother, with your dad’s support. fem, 1.6k
To grow up wondering if your father might love you is odd. You spend years wondering if you’d ever know him. Would he be proud of you? Would he like you? If you could find him, would he want you to?
And then you do find him, and you’re floored by how desperately he wants to take care of you.
Honey, his message starts, sent at 5AM that morning. Just to remind you, dinner is at 5PM, but you don’t have to worry about being late. You can come whatever time you like, please let me know beforehand. Jack was so excited last night he couldn’t sleep.
Another sent at 5:16AM. I can’t wait for you to meet him. How are you feeling about it? If this is too much, you don’t have to.
At 5:25AM. Please call me to talk when you’re awake, if you can.
You think perhaps your father might be as nervous as you are to introduce you to his family. Because Aaron, your dad, has a wife and child. Haley, his high school sweetheart (though there had been that brief separation in college that allowed your existence), and Jack, his four year old son.
This might be hard for everyone, but at least you aren’t destroying a family by existing. Aaron didn’t do anything wrong in getting your mother pregnant. He had no idea about it until you showed up at his office.
You rub your tired eyes and decide against calling him right away. You have work soon, and he’s probably at his own place of work already. Instead, you make yourself a cup of tea and breakfast you can’t eat. Turns out you’re more nervous than you thought.
You call him on your lunch break.
He said you can call him whenever you want, just he’s busy, and can’t always answer. He also said you can call him whatever you want. It had been a strangely touching moment at one of your ‘catching up on a whole life’ dinners. Mr. Hotchner was extremely formal, and made him laugh every time you said it. Aaron was better, but you could call him dad, if you liked. The paternity test agreed.
“Will that be weird for you?” you’d asked.
“Honey, I’ve had someone calling me dad for the last four years. You can call me what you want.”
Some part of you wished he insisted, but maybe it’s best the choice be down to you.
“Hello?” he asks as he picks up. “Y/N?”
The will to call him dad dies. It’s too awkward, what if he hates it? “Hello,” you say instead, stammering trying to sound natural.
“Hi, honey. Are you still coming to dinner tonight?”
“Yeah, I wouldn’t miss it.”
After an investigation and a mother’s confession, you found Aaron Hotchner online. Watched him behind podiums and sat at conference tables, even found his guest lecture at your university. It was a few years before you’d attended, but you can’t help thinking: what if you’d watched him talk? Would you have known he was your father? Of course, you couldn’t know. But maybe he would have.
Aaron took one good look at you in his office and believed you. Well, you had a photo of him and your mom, and you offered to take a paternity test then and there, but he told you he knew pretty quickly.
“You okay?”
“Just terrified,” you say.
“Haley… Haley isn’t mad at anyone. She has,” —he clears his throat— “a very tight picture of her life in her head, and her husband having a child without her wasn’t in that picture, but she also has a really big heart. I promise you have nothing to worry about.”
“It’s not Haley I’m scared of.”
“Honey, Jack can’t stop telling people he has a new sister. People keep giving Haley congratulations.”
You rub your eyes. You’ll be surprised if your makeup survives the day. “Are you sure you even want me to come?”
“I want you more than anything.”
Which doesn’t answer the question you’d voiced, but reassures the one you’d been thinking. “I just wouldn’t blame you if you didn’t want me to. I can’t imagine how terrible this has been for you. I’ve disrupted your whole life.”
“Is that what you think?” he asks gently.
You can imagine him sitting at his desk. His office was roomy, with heavy furniture, big windows, and a gaggle of photo frames on the desk. He is intimidating, but he doesn’t talk to you with any meanness, or sternness. He’s been careful with you this whole time, so no, you’ve no reason to think he doesn’t want you around, but maybe he’s too good a man to admit it.
“If it’s too much for now, we can wait,” he says. “We have all the time in the world. But I promise it won’t be what you’re thinking. You certainly aren’t disrupting my life.”
You decide to be brave about it and go to dinner. Only when you’re standing on the Hotchner porch do you remember he’d wanted to talk to you about something. He opens the door quietly, ushering you in with a smile, and before you know it he’s offering a hug in the small foyer.
“Hi,” he says, patting your back. Your hands rest tentatively on his sides.
“Hi.”
He holds you at arm’s length before dropping his touch. “You look pretty,” he says.
Which is a whole other category of thing. “Thank you. Is this the sort of thing you wear to dinner?”
“You can wear pyjamas, if you like. Jack usually does.”
“That would make a good first impression.”
Haley appears from a doorway. “Oh, you’re here,” she says, smiling. “Hello, hello!”
You get another hug. Haley smells like expensive perfume and softness. Her hair is perfect. She’s one of the most beautiful women you’ve ever seen, and it’s emphasised by her glowing smile. “Jack is bouncing off the walls, but he might get a little shy when he really gets to meet you.” Her smile softens. “Wow. You don’t look much like him, but you have his frown. How’s that possible?” She nudges Aaron. “You’re so moody it’s in your DNA.”
“I’m sorry, I’m just nervous,” you explain.
“Me too,” Haley says.
“It’ll be okay.” Aaron gives Haley a squeeze around the shoulders. “He’s in the living room. Are you ready?”
“Maybe she should go in by herself.”
You and Aaron both stare at Haley.
“I should?” you ask.
She shrugs. “It’s not like we’re going anywhere. But maybe Aaron can introduce you and then bow out. It’s less pressure on both of you.”
You honestly couldn’t agree less with her, and Aaron’s giving her a dubious frown, but she’s Jack’s mom and your dad’s wife and you’re too scared of upsetting her to disagree.
Aaron, however, isn’t worried. “You don’t have to,” he says, giving Haley a rub on her shoulder, “it’s just a suggestion.”
“It’s okay. Um, whatever you guys think is best.”
So Aaron opens the living room door and walks you in.
Jack is drawing a bright picture on the floor, surrounded by a spread of crayons and washable markers. He has a huge sketch pad, where light from the TV stains the white with cartoon colours.
“Jack.” Aaron touches the back of your arm. “Bud, Y/N’s here for dinner.”
Jack whirls. As predicted, he sees you and his smile turns to shyness. You’re feeling shy, too, tempted to hide behind Aaron’s arm, but stepping forward when he prompts you to.
“Hi, Jack,” you say.
“Hi,” he says, lookin at Aaron.
“This is your big sister,” Aaron says.
Because Jack is your little brother. Half brother, but brother. You weren’t expecting to feel so awed.
You step out of your heels, you should’ve at the door, and use the armrest of the couch to lower yourself onto your knees. You just wanna see him.
He’s quite big, for his age. He’s tall. He has brown hair with slightly blond ends, and his eyes are big, flush with dark lashes. You have some of the same DNA, but you’re not sure you could tell with the two of you side by side.
“You look like your mommy,” you say.
“You don’t,” Jack says.
“I look more like my mommy.” You smile at him. “It’s nice to meet you, Jack.”
“You don’t look like a sister,” Jack says. “You’re old.”
“I’m not that old.”
Aaron laughs and touches your shoulder again. It’s nice to think he’s standing by.
“I… I can still do big sister stuff, even if I’m old,” you hedge gently. “I can still do fun stuff, I swear. I’m super fun.”
Jack pulls himself on knees to sit very close to you. He takes the skirt of your dress into his hand and pets it. “What if we ruin your dress?” he says worriedly.
“I have so many like this, it’s okay.”
His smile warms. “Okay. You want to colour with me?”
“Yes, yeah, I do. I really want to, what can we colour?”
“I’ll draw you a picture.”
You look up at Aaron with a smile that threatens to set with the wind. You’d be stuck like that, grinning with a mixture of relief, pride, and affection.
“I’m gonna go help Haley set the table,” he tells you. You’re probably wanting more than he’s giving, but you swear, he talks with love. “Okay?”
“Okay.”
“Okay, dad,” Jack says, taking your hand to pull you to the crayons. “We’re gonna colour now.”
“Okay, buddy. Draw me something nice.”

YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH AARON HOTCHNER AND ITS INFLUENCE ON HIS SON JACK gn!reader, FLUFF, no warnings(?) another informal blurb typa format :P
you and hotch decide together you'd like to date for a while first, take things slower and fully solidify and strengthen your relationship, before you become a part of jack's life. you didn't want jack to get attached to you or write you off too quickly in case life took you in different directions. you didn't know it at the time, but hotch introduced you to jack when he was sure he was going to marry you some day- and soon. he had been so incredibly head over heels in love with you and once you and jack got close, the little guy really got to witness how highly his father regarded you- and just how he showed you it every day. even in the little things. from the way hotch pulled out your chair, held all doors open for you, always kept your favorite drinks and snacks stocked up in the fridge and pantry, never let you open your own car door, the way he made spaces for you in his bathroom and closet without even being asked, and how he always stuck to your weekly dinner date- whether in person or over the phone. to the way his father would look at you, listen intently to whatever you were talking or ranting about, how he'd cup your hands and press quick kisses to them or move any bothersome strands of hair from your face when you'd eat, and how enthusiastic he always was when you and jack would spend time together.
jack was a bit hesitant with you at first, he was a bit older at that point and the quickness with which beth had left his life had admittedly stung him, leaving an ever-present welt behind. but he warmed up to you, appreciative of the way you welcomed him with open arms, never pressured him to spend time with or even like you (letting him accept you at his own pace) and how you clearly were not trying to take the place of his late mother- even many, many years into your relationship with his father. what he loved the most was how you always encouraged hotch to recount stories of haley, put pictures of her in jack's room or wherever else he wanted them, and how you would remind him: "your mother would be so proud of you jack." you would watch old home videos of their old family and jack never failed to notice how you wouldn't ever feel negatively about it. that was really what won him over. he also loved how open you were with both him and his dad- every day you'd say "i love you!" both casually and purposefully. it instilled in the young boy the importance of expressing appreciation, love, and care for others.
before you, hotch was always a just bit emotionally closed off. even when it came to jack he liked to keep himself a bit more reserved. he tried to stay a strong and unwavering inspiration, only wanting to show his son his best face. but once you came into their lives you inspired hotch to open up more than he had the last few years after haley's passing, inspired him to embrace even the "uglier" emotions he felt in life: grief, anger, sadness, and tiredness. it ended up passing onto jack in small ways, allowing him to feel even closer to dad. you became a huge structural post in jack's life. your love for one other inspired him, as he grew up he dreamed of one day having a relationship like yours. he looked forward to being able to treat his significant other the way his father cares for you.
you loved jack as if he was your own, though you never wanted to say that to him for fear of overstepping your role. aaron would always assure you, especially as jack grew older, that his boy felt it. you watched him go from a playful child, to a moody teenager, to a budding adult eager to make his mark on the world. and you were there supporting him the whole way.
you'll spend a lifetime with the both of them and although there will be many funny, loving, or frustrating moments you'll hold in a special place in your mind, there's one memory from when he was still a youngin that you love the most. it was a surprise dinner party at your fancy restaurant, aaron had booked the whole place just for you and the guests to celebrate your engagement and he had enlisted jack's help to plan the whole thing. jack, the bau team, and your friends and family were all there to shower you in love. the most memorable part of the night was the moment everyone sat down for dinner, all around a giant table (possibly multiple tables pushed together). as everyone moved to take their place jack ran so eagerly in front of you to pull your chair out before his father got the chance. you were shocked for a second before bursting out in a melodious laugh- it was so unexpected but you were incredibly moved. "oh, jack, thank you!" your loving, excited, and genuinely appreciative tone made jack's already huge grin grow even wider and more endearing. everyone else had noticed this too and laughed in joy along with you. "oh my god!" "that was so freakin cute" "he did not just do that!" rang out around you. of course aaron noticed, standing in silence for a second, a similar smile mirrored on his face, before he shook his head with a chuckle. as you took you seat, jack made sure to push your chair in just before you sat down fully, diligently executing what he'd studied his father do hundreds of times before. you turned to thank him, but before you could even open your mouth jack moved to take your cloth napkin from the table, shake it open, and carefully place it in your lap. awwws flooded in from all sides of the table
"oh you are just so adorable jack, thank you so much." you said as you pinched his still slightly chubby cheek "you are just the kindest, sir." you playful tone cause jacks entire face to blush and he shyly walked over to take a seat next to you.
"what? you take my job, and now you don't even want to sit next to me?" hotch spoke up from you other side. jack knew his father was joking, but he still bashfully giggled, sinking a bit more into his seat
"you better be careful, hotch," derek spoke up from across the table, motioning to his former boss with a breadstick, "looks like you got some competition there."
everyone broke out into more laughter, especially aaron. in the midst of the hysterics, the once-stoic man's hand crept into your lap to hold your own, thumbing over the back of your hand and the beautiful engagement ring wrapped around your finger. you shared a glance while you both laughed before you looked over to jack. wordlessly, your hand suddenly hopped up to ruffle up the little boy's hair, causing him to scrunch up his nose and giggle even more.
but you didn't have to say anything, your eyes held the truth. love. jack continued to look up at you, feelings of warmth, joy, and safety draped over him like a fuzzy throw, covering him from the crown of his head to the tips of his fingers and toes. he knew that with you in his life now, besides him and his father, everything would be okay.

Why’d You Have to Wait?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
🔥 - synopsis. You get kidnapped on a case. Aaron’s coping mechanism? Self isolation. But when you’re recovering, Aaron wonders if staying away from you is the right thing to do. Jack convinces him anyway. Are things too far gone for Aaron to fix?
🔥 - warnings. Non descriptive torture. Scars. Burns. Very vaguely described mental issues. Slow burn. Friends ro enemies to lovers? Sad hotch. Angst. No happy ending.
🔥 - author’s note. Doing a part two. Hopefully this doesnt flop :)
Aaron had dreams about it now. They were so vivid- lifelike and real. Every time he had them he woke up in a cold sweat, heaving in the bathroom as tears dripped slowly down his face.
He hadn’t gone to the hospital to see you. In fact, Aaron hadn’t seen you since the day you almost died. He rode in the ambulance, but tore himself away from the hospital as he watched the doctors wheel you into the operating room. Your blood had stained his hands, face, and arms for days. Every time the white spots danced in his vision after emptying the contents of his stomach, he swears he can still see the glossy red liquid drip off his fingers.
You were well like. Not only by the team but by Strauss. She had given the team the time off to help y/n recover: sit in her room after another surgery, cheer for her during physical therapy.
Jack loved having time to see his dad after school, but he knew something was wrong after consistently hearing him pad to the kitchen during the middle of the night.
Tonight was no different.
Jack sat up in his bed and rubbed his eyes. He blinked owlishly around the room and stood up. The little Hotchner slowly followed the light to the kitchen and saw his daddy lean over the sink. “Daddy?”
Aaron turned his head and tried to smile at Jack. Aaron knew he probably looked a mess. “Hey buddy. Let’s get you back to bed.”
Before Aaron could set down set down his water cup, Jack crawled up the seat and watched his dad over the counter. “What’s wrong, daddy?”
“I just can’t sleep,” Aaron shrugged, facing Jack with his arms crossed. “Why do you think something’s wrong?”
Jack looked at Aaron as if he had grown two heads. “You get up in the night a lot, daddy. And your eyes are red. You cough a lot too.“
Hotch wanted to laugh. Of course Jack knew something was wrong- he always knew. “Yeah. You’re right, kiddo.”
“You yell when you sleep sometimes too. What happened to y/n, daddy? She doesn’t come see me anymore.”
Aaron shuddered as he inhaled. Smart boy. “She got really hurt, buddy. It’s bad. I guess I just… get scared thinking about her getting hurt,” Aaron admits, feeling his heart beat faster in his chest.
Jack nodded. “Can we go see her?”
“I- I don’t think we should. She’s still getting better.”
Jack furrowd his eyebrows and tilted his head. “But I miss her.”
“I do t- I bet she misses you, too, Jack, but I don’t know how she’s doing. She might still-“
Jack sighed. “But daddy, she’d be so happy to see me!”
Aaron sighed. As much as he selfishly wanted to see you, he couldn’t. He’d do something he wasn’t proud of- embarrass himself, ruin his reputation of being a mentally and emotionally tough boss, ruin your friendship… No. Aaron couldn’t go by himself, but Jack could go with him. Why hadn’t Aaron thought of it before?
“Okay,” Aaron relented. A smile tugged at his lips when Jack’s face lit up. He scrambled off his chair and collided into Aaron’s legs and squeezed.
“Can I sleep with you tonight, daddy? Aunt Jess always stays with me when I have a nightmare.”
Aaron bent down and picked Jack up and nodded. “Yeah, buddy. Let me brush my teeth again.”
Jack wrapped his arms around his dad’s neck and squeezed, as big of a hug his little body could give.
— 🔥
The days were all a blur for you. Now that you were all fucked up, nothing felt right anymore. Second defree burns crawled up the calf of your left leg. Small cuts littered your entire body, scarring and twisting your skin. The worst part was the long, twisting scar that started on your cheek about two inches away from your ear and pulled down to your collarbone.
The unsub, Barney MacMillian, was a sadist. A stupid fucking sadist. He thought he was punishing you for hunting him when he kidnapped and tortured you.
You know the team tried- they really really did try- to cheer you up, to get you back. But the fact that you now considered yourself a monster and how you started to believe the things MacMillian had whispered in your ear as he tore you apart, layer by layer.
Derek genuinely thought your scar was badass, but learned not to bring it up. Penelope just kept rehashing everything- something you had eventually told her to atop doing. Prentiss was cautious, testing the waters. But she eventually got back into a rhythm with you as your best friend. JJ didn’t do anything wrong, she was just really nice- too nice? Spencer was… himself. And you couldn’t thank him enough for just staying him, recitinf facts about burns and scars, knives and blood loss. It was morbid, sure, but you were always close with him and the way his brain worked.
Rossi was the one that kept you together through it all, though. He had conversations with you, long past visiting hours. He talked with you about anything and everything and somehow knew exactly what you needed to hear or talk about. But he kept making excuses for Aaron.
Aaron. The romantic feelings you kept trying to flush away turned into hurt every time Rossi’s eyes flickered away from yours when you asked about him. But you knew now. He didn’t care. He never would. That’s why he didn’t show. It’s the only plausible explanation of why he wouldn’t show up, shoot you a text, something.
So you turned your hurt into anger and stopped asking, ignoring the way your heart would drop to your stomach and how the acid in your stomach churned eveey time you heard his name.
You already had your resignation documenta stored neatly in a magazine in the second table in the nightstand to your right. You were done with it all.
— 🔥
That’s why you felt tears prick in your eyes when you saw Jack Hotchner leap into the room. His little eyes scoured your face, eyes dragging down the healing skin on your face. You heard Aaron’s footfalls stop short at the door. Your jaw clenched and you stared at Jack, waiting for him to start crying and ask to leave.
But he didn’t. He just smiled and leapt into your arms, completely unaware of the physical pain in your leg and body. He just wrapped his arms and legs around you.
You sat still, eyes looking at Rossi, who smiled at you. You hadn’t yet looked at Aaron and didn’t even want to. Carefully you wrapped your arms around Jack’s back, ignoring how fast the tears left your eyes.
Jack pulled back and looked at you with a smile that faded the second he saw your tears. In all of your time (almost 10 years) at the BAU, Jack had only seen you cry once. And that was during a movie.
“I thought coming to see you what make you happy,” he sad, voice sad. “Why are you crying?”
You smiled at him, sniffling pitifully. “I’m not sad, little J. I am really happy to see you,” you said. You hoped Aaron would hear the sharp undertone in your voice. Judging by Rossi’s huff of a laugh, he did.
“Oh! Well, I brought you stuff. I know you like the Black Widow because she’s really cool, so I brought you a coloring book,” Jack explained as he brandished his backpack full of stuff. You listensed intently, only looking up when Rossi got your attention and nodded to the door to signal him leaving.
Jack kept talking and you were overjoyed to listen. He was a pleasent little man, making your time more enjoyable. He opened up the coloring book he bought and started coloring after giving you a Beanie Baby he had that you mentioned you liked. He also got you a necklace- that Aaron no doubt spent a pretty penny for- that had your birthstone set in it. Jack watched you carefully as you opened it, and he put it on with his chubby fingers. You didn’t tell him that you would have to take it off soon after he left so it didn’t kill you when you slept. Hospital policy or something.
Soon after you finished your own coloring page featuring the Black Widow and Tony Stark making a hero landing, Jack turned on the T.V. and fell asleep.
“Hey,” Aaron said finally.
You nodded. “Hi boss.”
Aaron bit his lip. You stared forward, hand threading through Jack’s hair. Aaron felt his heart clenching in his chest. He didn’t know how you were gonna react when he came by, but he didn’t expect this- this silent treatment. He didn’t really blame you though. He wanted more than anything to make it up to you, to get you smiling again, but he knew the distance was probably better. For him at least.
“Y/n-“ Aaron started.”
You cut him off with. “Jack’s asleep, sir. It would be best not to wake him.”
Sir. You only called him sir if you were mad. Aaron swallowed. He knew he fucked up. Would he ever be able to fix his mistake, bring the old you back? He pondered the questions as he leaned back in his chair and watched the television show Jack chose before he fell asleep.
— 🔥
“Y/n is getting sent home today,” David’s voice crackled through the phone. “We wanted to take her out to dinner, something nice. Are you coming?”
Aaron sat at the kitchen table, checking over Jack’s homework. Jack himself was sitting a couple feet away on the couch. “Probably not. I have Jack.”
Rossi scoffed on the other line. “She loves Jack and he loves her. Bring him with you.”
“I don’t know,” Aaron sighed. He rested his head in his hands and closed his eyes. “Dave, she hates me.”
Silence. Rossi exhaled and shook his head. “She doesn’t hate you, but you’re giving her a lot of reasons to. Clean yourself up and meet us all at the address Garcia’ll send you. 6:00. Be there, Aaron. If not for her…” he trailed off, considering his next words carefully. “Then for Jack.”
— 🔥
David convinced you all to wait until ordering.
But when 6:45 rolled around and Aaron didn’t show, you just clenched your jaw and ordered a neat whiskey.

(Y/N)’s point of view
When we found out we were having a little girl, Spencer lost his mind. I know he would have been happy if the doctor had said it was a boy, but a baby girl was just what he had always dreamed about. A little princess to spoil and teach everything.
We decided to name her Raven Marie Reid, and ever since that day, my husband talked to our daughter every second he could. He encouraged us to hear more classical music to help her brain develop, he read her bedtime stories and even asked about her day.
- “I’m telling you, chipmunk, Raven knows I’m talking to her”- Spencer pointed out as we walked into the bullpen- “She kicks and moves when I say her name.”
- “I know, honey bunny. She is still inside me, kicking my ribs and squeezing my bladder most of the time.”- I replied and shook my head, smiling. I couldn’t deal with his proud smile at my words.
- “Reids! you are here! I’ve got news”- Penelope nearly tackled us as soon as she saw us, and didn’t even give us time to reach our desk.
- “We have to take the fit test.”- she announced quickly.
- “We?”- Spencer asked, confused.
- “Me too?”- I questioned, scared of the answer. I was already 38 weeks into the pregnancy and I could barely move. I wasn’t allowed to travel anymore, so I had to help the team from my desk whenever they were out of town.
- “Of course not, munchkin. Just me and your husband.”- Garcia explained tapping on my arm.
- “But why? We have enough case hours to cover a fit test.”- Spencer argued, confused.
- “I just got the mail. So, I guess we should train a little.”- Garcia shrugged and started walking with us to our desk.
- “I can help.”- I suggested - “I was very good at my fit test, and I can give you some tips.”
- “Can we talk with Hotch and get out of this?” - Spencer suggested- “I mean, it’s a fit test. Honestly, we don’t need this.”
- “Well, we are having a baby, and you are gonna have to play with her, so maybe getting some exercise done could be good for you.”- I suggested, but Spencer looked at me like I had cursed him- “What?”
- “You know I’m not good at sports.”
- “You are amazing in the field and you know it.”- I rubbed his shoulder and smiled- “But you have to get used to running now that we are having to have a kid to follow around.”
- “My princess is not gonna make me run around, right Raven?”- Spencer asked and rubbed my tummy. Our daughter moved inside my belly and sat directly on my bladder.
- “Great, I have to pee again. Thank you, honey bunny.”
The following morning, Spencer and I got up extra early to meet Penelope on the training track in Quantico. My husband looked the cutest in his red shorts and mismatched socks. I planned a simple circuit for them to warm up and watched them running as I sat on a bench and ate part of the orange slices I had brought to them. I tried to imagine how it would be when Raven went to school, would she like sports? Would she join the track team? Soccer? softball? my mind wandered to all the amazing things our baby girl would do. Anything she dreamed of, I would encourage her to pursue.
Spoiler alert: Raven is on the swimming team, and she loves it. We go to her competitions with homemade banners and Spencer made sure our house had a pool, so she can practice whenever she wants.
- “Come on honey bunny!!”- I yelled as Spencer made it to the finish line, a few seconds after García, in what I could call a dreadful performance running. I stopped the timer and shook my head as I made my way over. Spencer and Penelope were panting, and trying to elongate their weary muscles.
- “Why does it have to be such a fast mile?”- Garcia argued, trying to catch her breath- “Have you ever even had to run a mile in the field?”
- “No.”- Spencer answered, panting. I handed them a Gatorade and tried to cheer them up.
- “Come on! you are doing better! You’ve got this!”
- “I'm not even in the field.”- Penelope kept arguing - “I sit at a computer on my perfect posterior, like all day.”
- “I know, Pen. But it’s the rule. Apparently, everybody has to take the fit test this year.”- I tried to explain, but my friend decided to keep rambling.
- “Well, at least we didn’t ask Derek.”- Garcia was thinking out loud - “It's bad enough some bureaucrat is making us take this stupid test. The last thing we need is Mr. Universe talking smack the whole time.”
- “But he knows about all this stuff.”- Spencer argued her point of view - “He can probably, like, teach us some tricks, help us train.”
- “Your wife is doing that already, Reid.”- Garcia pointed out the obvious- “Besides, Derek takes it way too seriously. I worked out with him once.”
- “You work out?”- my husband asked surprised, and Pen just nodded, still trying to catch her breath. - “That's cool. I don't.”
- “We can tell, hon.”- I whispered as I rubbed his back.
- “I train in a non-traditional manner and never again with him.”- Garcia explained. - “He was all, "There you go, baby girl. Move it or lose it. This ain't your high-tech room. My grandmama can move better than that."- I chuckled at her impersonation of Morgan as my husband tried to excuse him somehow.
- “He can be enthusiastic at times.”- Spencer was so nice, we all know Derek was a drill sergeant training. I loved training with him, he always forced me to give 110%, but of course, neither my husband nor Garcia enjoyed it.
- “That's a way of saying it.”- I giggled and looked at the clock - “Now come on! Give me a couple more laps.”
- “Do we have to?”- Spence asked me with sweet puppy eyes, looking adorable and exhausted.
- “Yes, you do. Come on! You’ve got this.”
Lucky for Spencer and Penelope, Hotch texted us to tell us we had a case, which only meant training was over.
It also meant I had to stay with Garcia as my husband left the city to catch a serial killer. I knew it was our job and there was nothing I could do about it, but it made me uneasy to think about what would happen to Raven and me if anything went to happen to Spencer on the field. It was a fact: I was afraid of our mortality now that we were about to be parents. That is one fear I haven’t stopped feeling, and it’s one of the main reasons why today we are leaving the BAU.
During that case, Spencer got hit. It wasn’t serious, just a punch on the face, and Morgan teased him saying they might have ruined his pretty face a little. However, I didn’t laugh at all. I wasn’t calm or even rational at that point. You lose it when you get a phone call from your boss saying your husband is at the hospital, and you can’t go ‘cos you are 635 miles away and unable to get on a plane ‘cos you are 38 weeks pregnant. It doesn’t matter if it’s just a punch in the face.
I was beyond furious with him and Hotch. Mad at Spencer for putting himself in danger out there, and with Hotch, for putting him there in the first place.
I yelled so much while the team was on their way back, Garcia was afraid I was going to deliver the baby in her office. But I knew I had to get it off my system before dealing with Hotch, ‘cos I didn’t want to get fired for attempting to murder my boss.
- “What the fuck was Spencer thinking?!”- I yelled as I paced in Penelope’s office, trying to breathe. - “He never gets in any physical fight with an unsub! Ever! When was the last time he got hurt during a case? Tell me, Pen!?”- and my friend stared at me, not knowing the answer.
- “I’m… well…”
- “It was over five years ago, we weren’t even dating yet. He got fucking anthrax!! and he almost died! I can’t go through that again, we are gonna have a baby. Do you think I could raise a baby alone? I fucking can’t! There is no way on earth I can do this alone! Spencer can’t do this to me!”
- “(Y/N), please breathe. He just got punched on the face, that’s it.”- Garcia tried to reason with me, and failed.
- “Just punched on the face? Do you know how dangerous that is? It means he was fighting the unsub! One false movement and things south!”
- “But it didn’t happen, please, munchkin, calm down, you are gonna give me a stroke.”
- “I’m not gonna calm down until my husband is here, safe and sound!”
My wishes came true later that evening after I had made a major effort to calm myself down and not look like the hormonal and slightly crazy woman I was that day.
- “I’m ok, I swear”- Spencer said as soon as he stepped out of the elevator and found me waiting for him.- “I’m sorry, ma cherie.”
I sighed, taking in his perfume, the smell of his neck, and the warmth of his arms around me. Spencer kissed the top of my head and didn’t move for a few minutes until he was sure I was calmed. Somehow, having him there made me forget about how mad I had been earlier that day.
- “Are you sure you are ok?”- I whispered and looked at his face, he had a cut on the eyebrow and a bruise on the cheekbone.
- “Nothing that some kisses can’t fix.”- he said with a sweet smile.
- “You would have been proud, pretty girl.”- Derek pointed out, walking past us along with the rest of the team. - “Reid tacked the unsub like a pro.”
- “I did.”- my husband nodded. - “Working out is paying off.”
- “So, do you think you could stay here until the baby is born?”- I asked and Spencer just smiled.
- “Hotch and I already talked. I won’t move from my desk until Raven is here.”- I beamed, relieved, and let out a deep breath I didn’t know I was holding.
- “Thank you, honey bunny.”
- “Anything for you, ma cherie.”
- “I’m glad I don’t have to yell at Hotch anymore.”- my husband frowned, confused.
- “Why would you…”
- “Never mind, honey bunny.”
Spencer’s point of view
There are so many things I will never forget, and not just because I have an eidetic memory. One of my favorites is the day Raven was born. That was the day I became a father, and by far, one of the happiest moments of my life.
(Y/N) had started feeling contractions after dinner. We were on the couch watching Dr. Who and eating ice cream when they began. They were soft and irregular, so we didn’t move, and instead, we did what the doctor had instructed, and started timing the contractions.
After a while, (Y/N) decided a bath was a good idea ‘cos it might help her relax before bed, so I filled the tub and helped her in. We didn’t call anyone but our midwife, who told us we were doing the right thing and suggested we get as much sleep as possible. So we went to bed. I held my wife and placed a hand on his belly.
I felt like I hadn’t slept for more than five minutes when my wife’s voice woke me up at five thirty am.
- “Honey.”- she whispered, shaking my arm carefully.
- “Everything ok?! Are you in pain?! Do you need the doctor?”- I nearly jumped and stared at her, she seemed scared, though she tried to remain calm.
- “My water broke.”
And that was when my brain turned off.
I stared at (Y/N), slowly panicking, and stood by her side, analyzing everything. Yes, our mattress was probably ruined but that wasn’t the biggest issue at that minute.
- “Spencer?”- my wife called out my name, probably reading how I was losing it at that minute.
- “Yes, cherie, I’m here. I just… need a second.”
- “We have to go to the hospital.”- her voice was a whisper, and she didn’t say another word. A contraction hit her and I could read the pain all over her face. That was when it clicked me, there was no time to overthink, I had to be there for her. In a second I was fully dressed and helping her walk to the door.
- “The bag is in the car, I’ve got my cell… and yours.”- she kept panting as she enumerated everything we needed.
- “We’ll call your parents from the car”- I said as I grabbed the keys and opened the front door.
- “Wait!”- (Y/N) stayed still and held her belly with both hands. I saw her doing her breathing exercises, going through what looked like a very painful contraction. I placed my hand on hers and stared at her, doing her best to do everything we were taught we had to do.
- “I am so proud of you.”- I whispered and kissed her temple. - “You are doing so well, ma cherie.”
- “In case later I yell and say things I don’t mean, I love you.”- she replied and I chuckled. - “You know I might do that if it gets too painful.”
- “I know you will.”- I replied and kissed her lips - “Ready to walk to the car?”- (Y/N) nodded and started moving slowly. I closed the door and held her arm, helping her all the way over.
I rushed into the hospital with my wife, who was trying her best to hide her pain from me, so I wouldn’t freak out. But I was freaking out anyway. Of course, I was. I was running in my head all the possible scenarios that could go wrong in the following hours and I was terrified.
- “My wife is having our baby, her water broke.”- that was all I could say as soon as we reached the front desk. A nurse put (Y/N) in a wheelchair and guided her to a room in less than a minute to examine her. I gave our info and followed her, trying to remain calm.
- “How are you feeling, Mrs. Reid?”- she asked (Y/N).
- “I’m ok, I guess. I keep trying to think this isn’t the most painful thing ever ‘cos I know it’s gonna get worse.”- and my wife even joked, she is a champ.
- “We’ll make sure you feel the least pain possible. Now, let’s put you in bed and see how long until we meet your baby. Do you know what you are having?”
- “A girl.”- (Y/N) replied as I helped her move into the bed. I felt like there was nothing I could do at that minute, so I just stared at her being the most amazing woman ever.
- “Did you pick a name yet?”
- “Yes, Raven Marie.”-
- “That’s a lovely name! Now, let’s see how you are doing.”
The nurse was very nice. She asked my wife a million questions I heard (Y/N) answer patiently, checked her vitals, assessed her contractions, and checked her cervical dilatation. During that entire time, I couldn’t say a word, I was shocked. It was happening, my wife was going to make me a dad, and I was terrified. Not that I didn’t want to be a father, I was just scared anything might go wrong. And if everything went well, and the baby ended up hating me ‘cos I was the worst father on earth? I didn’t know how to be a good dad, I didn’t have one most of my life.
- “Honey, honey”- (Y/N) held my hand and took me from my thoughts.
- “Are you ok?”- I asked right away and she smiled.- “What can I get you?”
- “Nothing, but are you ok? You are pale and I can see you are losing it, and this hasn’t even started yet.”- I nodded and felt her squeezing my hand. - “It’s gonna be ok, so please don’t overthink it, ok?”- I nodded and leaned in to kiss her forehead, but she moved and crushed her lips against mine, making me smile.
- “Come on! She is still pregnant! Wait a little before knocking her up again.”- Frank said as he walked in absolutely unannounced, holding a paper bag filled with snacks, books, and magazines.
- “How the fuck did you know we were here?”- that was the first thing my wife questioned, and then the nurse showed up to take him out.
- “Your mom called us all, everybody is on their way, I just got here early.”
- “Sir, I’m gonna have to ask you to wait outside.”- the nurse said and pointed to the door.
- “Don’t worry, guys. I’m gonna be camping out there, I’m on the welcome committee. Anything you need, I’m here.”- Frank moved quickly, kissed (Y/N)’s forehead, and smiled. - “You are gonna kick ass, nugget!”
We are lucky to have the best friends on earth.
(Y/N)’s parents, Lu, and Mikey were in the waiting room with Frank in less than half an hour. They all had stopped by to see my wife and wish her luck. Hotch and Garcia got there next and hugged me tight.
- “How is my munchkin? Can I see her?”- Pen asked right away.
- “She is with the doctor, everything is fine. She is still a few hours away from pushing, but everything is going well. They are evaluating if they are giving her the epidural now.”- I explained and Pen nodded.
- “JJ said she won’t come ‘cos she has a cold and it could be dangerous for (Y/N) and the baby, but asked me to send pictures later.”- I just nodded and looked around the room. Everyone I loved was there to support us.
- “Did you bring her ice?”- Hotch asked and I showed him the cup I was holding.
- “On my way to get more ice right now.”
- “And how are you?”- my unit chief asked the million-dollar question, so I just sighed.
- “I can’t stand hospitals, there’s something about the lighting…”- Hotch raised an eyebrow and stared at me knowing that was not what bothered me. - “I’m just worried, I can’t stop thinking anything might go wrong.”- it was easiest to confess my darkest fear at that moment because I needed some sort of contention.
- “It’s normal, Reid. You want to be sure she and the baby are going to be ok.”- Hotch put a hand on my shoulder and smiled at me. - “You are doing a great job here.”
- “Thank you.”- it was somehow reassuring to hear Hotch saying that. I felt silly but it somehow took a weight from my chest.
- “Son.”- Chief (Y/L/N) walked towards, shook Hotch’s hand, and welcomed Garcia. - “Have you eaten anything?”- he didn’t actually wait for my reply, my father-in-law handed me a sandwich and a coffee. - “Eat this, I’ll bring my princess the ice. You need a little break.”- he tapped on my back and Sofia patted on an empty chair next to her and I moved towards her slowly.
- “Did you call your mom yet, honey?”- she asked me as I chewed the sandwich and shook my head. - “Do you want me to call her?”
- “It’s still too early in Las Vegas. And I don’t want her to get anxious. I’ll call her when Raven is here with us.”- I explained and sipped my coffee. Extra cream and extra sugar. I hummed happily and Sofia smiled.
- “Did I get your order right?”- she asked me and I nodded, surprised. - “I’m glad. I made you the sandwich you said you liked last time we had brunch. A bacon omelet goat cheese sandwich.”- she pointed out proudly.- “I remembered how much you liked it.”
- “Thank you, Sofia.” - she leaned over and kissed my forehead.
- “I love you, son. I am so excited you and my baby are about to be parents.”
I blushed as I heard her words, feeling my heart filled with love. Around us, Frank, Lu, Garcia, and Mikey talked about all the plans they had for my baby girl. Hotch was talking with Derek, who had just walked in with Alex.
- “Now eat your food,"- Sofia added.- "I’ll put an eye on my baby.”
I am still amazed by the warm feeling that having a family gives me. Not just my wife and kids, but our entire extended family, in-laws, and friends. I never thought I could ever have this. I know I say it a lot, but it’s very hard for me to believe this is my life.
(Y/N)’s point of view
Things I couldn’t stop thinking about the first time I had a baby: how Spencer always said studies showed women forgot about pain as soon as they held their babies. I needed to get to that point as fast as possible because no matter how many drugs they gave me, I felt like I was tearing apart.
- “Come on Mrs. Reid!”- the doctor said, from between my legs. - “I can see her head! just a few more pushes!!”
- “I can’t, I’m too tired!”- I argued and felt like breaking into tears, ‘cos I was moody and tired and most of all, scared ‘till the death of what was going on. A human was coming out of my body, I wasn’t ready to be a mom. I was terrified of messing it up.
- “Come on, ma cherie.”- Spencer had held my hand through the whole process, and though he had delivered a baby himself, for the first time ever, he didn’t give directions or corrected anyone. I guessed he was too scared to mess up and trusted the medical staff.
- “I’m sorry hon, I can’t do this.”- I mumbled and felt my baby punching her way out of my body. I had a strong contraction and instead of talking, all I could do was scream in pain.
- “Yes, you can do this, (Y/N). Come on! Just push, our baby is almost here. Just push, ok?”- Spencer begged as I did as told and gave my biggest effort.
- “Almost!! Just one more!!!”- the doctor said. Spencer held my hand tighter and nodded, in support. I don’t know how I did it, but somehow, I managed to push one more time and suddenly, I heard a baby cry.
- “Oh my god”- Spencer gasped and stayed still, staring at the baby with tears in his eyes. The doctor stood up and placed a red crying baby on my chest, and suddenly, Spencer was right. I felt no pain whatsoever. Nothing. All I could do was stare in awe and, of course, cry, how that little baby on my chest was in fact, my little baby.
- “Hi Raven.”- I whispered and touched her back carefully, with shaky hands. - “Hi, I’m your mom, and me and your dad love you very much.”- I chuckled and sniffed as Spencer moved closer and kissed my forehead.
- “She is perfect.”- he whispered and stared at her in admiration and pure love. The nurse gave him a pair of scissors and instructed him how to cut the umbilical cord. I tried to stop crying, but it was nearly impossible. I was a mom. My husband was a dad. We were parents.
Spencer and I had a kid. That was the thought I couldn’t process. The guy I had a crush on for what seemed to be my entire life, my best friend, the smartest guy on earth, and I, had made a baby. I managed to look away from Raven for a second and watched him staring at us, sobbing.
- “I love you so much.”- I whispered and he smiled at me. He leaned in and kissed my lips carefully, and then kissed our baby girl.
- “I love you too, so much. I am so proud of you, ma cherie.”
It was all sweet and fun until that point. But no one ever prepared me for what happened when we took Raven home. Yes, we were ready (or so we thought), but let me tell you this: dealing with a newborn after a week of no sleep is way worse than any unsub's interrogation I had ever dealt with. Way worse.
I felt I was losing my sanity after the first eight days with Raven at home. She didn’t sleep for longer than an hour, which meant neither did we. Breastfeeding wasn’t magical, it was uncomfortable and sometimes even painful, which made me feel like the worst mother on earth. During that first week, I did my best to remain calm and rational. But after eight days of no sleeping, pain due to delivery, swollen breasts, and the irrevocable agony of thinking I was the worst mother on earth, I locked myself in the kitchen and cried my eyes out as I waited for the pot to boil.
Spencer was with Raven in our room, walking around 'cause it was the best way to keep her asleep for more than half an hour. I didn’t want him to know I was crying 'cause I felt useless and pathetic. A voice inside my head kept telling me any other woman would do better than me. Any other woman would be a better mother for Raven and a better wife for Spencer.
I’m not proud to tell you how I felt, I swear. But at that moment, I was overwhelmed.
So I waited for the water to boil and cried as much as I could. Then I put myself together, grabbed a cup, and prepared a cup of hot lavender tea for myself. I also grabbed a bag of marshmallows and ate half of it in less than a minute. Then, I took a deep breath and headed back to our bedroom, where Spencer was still walking our baby. He looked exhausted but kept staring at Raven with the sweetest look in his eyes. It made me feel guilty because he was doing just great and I was a failure. And what was worse: I couldn’t stop thinking JJ was a better BAU mom than I was. She was my only comparison, and as far as I was concerned, she kicked ass. And there I was, failing.
- “She is asleep.”- Spencer whispered and I walked to him, to make sure Raven was well. - “Why don’t you get some rest? I’ve got her.”
- “No, I don’t wanna leave you alone with all the work.” - I argued, knowing it was useless to resist.
- “Every book says that when the baby is asleep, the mother should try to get some rest. Now please, get in bed and nap a little. I’ll be right here with Raven, ok?”
- “But…”
- “Chipmunk, I have to return to work in a few days, please get as much rest as you can while I am still here. I don’t wanna be at work feeling guilty I didn’t do enough to help you.”
- “You’ve done everything, honey.”- I whispered and looked down at my shaking hands. I was still filled with sadness and regret. Feelings I didn’t know how to handle.
- “What are you talking about? You brought her to this world, you feed her, you take care of her. You’ve done more than enough.”- he kissed the top of my head and I just sighed, defeated. - “Get some sleep, ma cherie.”
I was lucky enough to have a large support group. My mom would visit us daily and help us with Raven while we did house chores and napped. Lu, Frank, and Mikey brought us groceries during the first couple of weeks, so we didn’t have to leave the house. Hotch gave us all the free days he could get. But eventually, after a month and a half, my husband had to return to work, and I was all alone at our apartment with Raven.
- “How is my beautiful granddaughter?”- Diana asked as soon as I opened the door. She was visiting after her trip to the Grand Canyon, and my mom had invited her to stay over with her. My mother-in-law was doing so well with her new medication, and she wanted to enjoy as much time with Raven as possible.
- “And Spencer?”- Diana asked, looking around the apartment.
- “He is back to work, starting today.”- I explained and tried not to show how much I hated the idea of him chasing psychopaths and traveling all over the states. Spencer said he would ask Hotch to stay in town, at least for a few weeks, and help the team from headquarters. I wanted him to take a sabbatical from the BAU and teach in Georgetown for a semester. We could live like that, get used to having a baby, and watch her grow. But Hotch needed Spencer, and he said he also needed me back as soon as I was ready.
- “And how many weeks do you have left before going back to work?”- Mrs. Reid asked the dreadful questions as she walked around the apartment holding Raven in her arms.
- “Three more weeks.”
- “And do you want to go back to the FBI?”- Diana was on fire that day, asking everything I didn’t want to think about.
- “I miss my work, but I don’t want to be apart from Raven. I know mom will take care of her when I’m at work, and I don’t wanna travel for the next couple of months. But still, I’m not that excited about coming back to work.”- I explained. However, I left out the most important part: I was terrified of anything happening to us. Getting injured and being in danger was the biggest issue working at the BAU, but before having a kid, I had never felt as afraid as I was then.
- “Why don’t you relax honey?”- my mom asked, probably reading the pain on my face. - “Leave this little princess with us, and have a nice warm bath. How does that sound?”
- “And a nap”- Mrs Reid suggested - “Sleep as much as you want, darling. None of us will feel bad if you need to rest. God knows I needed naps when Spencer was a baby. He was adorable, but the first couple of weeks I was exhausted the entire time. Once I fell asleep sitting at the table, having breakfast.”- I smiled at them and nodded. They were both right. I needed a break before pumping, feeding, and changing diapers again.

Morning, Mon
I'm thinking about after Hotch was in the bombing in Mayhem and lost some of his hearing, with reader who would be careful to always be on the side of his 'good' ear, or always really enunciate their words and try to speak with their mouth clearly in front of him since he has to rely on lipreading a bit more these days. Plus! they would totally show Jack to do the same since he loves to babble happily to his dad, but he sometimes misses what's being said. Being hotch though he's always too embarrassed to admit when he needs help or can't hear.
Have a blessed day, Beautiful
A Helping Hand
Warnings: Hearing loss, brief mention of the bombing, Hotch being too proud to ask for help (but eventually does), fluff.
Word count: 806
Pairing: Aaron Hotchner x gn!reader
A/n: Oh yes yes!! This is one of the more recent ones I've seen when rewatching some of CM. It might be less of a fic?? Idk. BUT I'm posting it as one anyway 😌. Sorry if this isn't exactly what you wanted </3. I hope it's still enjoyable though :) This one was also not proofread so I apologise if there are any mistakes.

After the bombing and Aaron losing some of his hearing in one ear you've tried to be considerate of his new situation and how he lives now. You know he doesn't always catch everything that's being said to or around him but you also know he hates asking for people to speak louder and more clearly because of his hearing.
You've taken it upon yourself to do whatever you can to help him. And if everyone thought you liked being around him before, they should see you now. You're by his side almost constantly when you're on cases. It started when you noticed Aaron furrowing his brows even more and trying to lean in and turn his head so he could hear the officer more clearly, whether he realised he was doing it or not. When he still looked puzzled as to what was said you had walked over to him and made sure you repeated the officer's words into Hotch's good ear. He thanked you, though he did seem a bit embarrassed that you'd had to do that for him.
Hotch needs some extra care and consideration right now and though you know he hates needing extra help, or any help for that matter, he does need it. And you're happy to help him however you can. You're stuck to his side often. Even outside of work.
When everything happened and Aaron was spending time at home more, you visited every day if there wasn't a case. The first couple times you were there, you noticed Jack rambling about everything that popped into his head but Aaron was clearly not catching most of what was being said. He was trying to see the boy's face which was directed downwards as he played with his toys. Aaron would hum and nod even though he wasn't getting most of it.
When Aaron stood up to get you all a snack, you explained in a very nice and simple way to Jack that his dad can't hear very well right now. That it will help Aaron if he can see his mouth when he speaks and that it's best to speak as clearly as he can. "You understand what I'm saying, bug?" He nodded and said everything back to you so you knew he understood what you meant. For such a young child he was very intelligent and very understanding. He made sure to do just what you'd explained and you could see the look on Aaron's face when he was able to hear so much more of what the boy said to him.
Aaron didn't know you'd said this to his son. But if he knew, he'd have been very grateful regardless of the embarrassment he'd have felt. Because knowing what his son loves and wants to tell him all about is far more important to him than anything else.
Whenever Aaron was on the plane you always sat next to him, making sure to be on the side of his good ear. He noticed this after the first few times. He never mentioned it, though you knew he'd figured it out quickly.
He appreciated it. You always made sure he was fully informed and aware of what was happening. If someone threw an idea into the open and he looked a little lost, you would repeat it in his good ear. Or if you hadn't realised he missed something he would look to you and if you made eye contact he leaned in a little closer to you and you'd tell him then. Or if you hadn't been looking at him he would give you a slight nudge to get your attention. He was starting to get more comfortable asking for help, but only with you. He still wouldn't ask anyone else.
Everyone tried to be mindful and considerate. But they didn't go to the extent that you did.
Aaron's new situation was frustrating and irritating to him. It caused him more stress than he already had, which you knew was quite a bit. Sometimes it would overwhelm him and you were always there to pull him back down and comfort him. You were always there for him to lean on for support. He knew you didn't do all of this out of pity, but rather out of love and care and understanding for him.
There were a couple of times that he came to you in need of a shoulder to cry on. Both times it was mostly about him being afraid he'd never hear the same and that he would miss things he had taken for granted when he could hear them. He wasn't embarrassed around you anymore, especially not about this. He knew he could always come to you for support and he was always thanking you for how much you've helped him.

No one asked for this but it's too late now.
disabled/mentally ill/chronically ill child and which BAU parent would be the most accomodating.
(of course all of them would be supportive and do their best but some of them would be naturally more accomodating for certain things. Just trust me.)
Some of these are really specific and others are more general be kind please it was 2 am when I thought of this
Spencer- absolutely the best dad an autistic kid could ask for. He knows the signs before a meltdown and exactly what to do. If you're non verbal he learns sign language to help you, gets you stim toys based on what motor function you find the most soothing, and this man would be the biggest supporter of your special interests (really this needs no explaination. I could go on for hours about this)
JJ- a learning disability. Not only is she mama bear who will fight a teacher that critisized you but her whole job revolved around communicating well. She knows how to adjust and break things down and go slow. She would figure out the best way to accomodate you and follow through every time. You never have to worry about her losing her patience with you, she knows you need breaks, and she doesn't care what grade you get- she's just proud that you tried your hardest and got through it.
Penelope- Depression. Not only is this woman nearly impossible to be sad around, but Garcia understands sadness and grief and darkness. She doesn't like it, but she understands it and how awful it feels. She also understand that sometimes you just have to feel the feelings and not try to fix them right away. She's all sunshine and rainbows, but she knows you have to weather the storm first. She helps you get through it, slow and steady, but once it's time to get up and going she knows how to do that too.
Morgan- Any physical disabilty. This man would find the best house possible and then restore it and fit it with any ramp, handles, resizing, etc. you need. Would totally redo your dining room to be a first floor bedroom if you needed it and outfit it with an accessible shower. He finds a way to modify just about any sport you want to try so you can play. Can and will fight buisnesses over their lack of following of accessible laws.
Emily- Ambulatory wheenchair user/dynamic physical disability. She makes sure you have any mobility aids, modifications to the living space, and will fight people if they don't follow accessible laws. But she also makes you feel badass- she points out that canes and crutches make great weapons (talk shit get hit) and using your wheelchair is a power move she always encourages you to take if you need it. If you need bravery, she'd let you borrow hers. Would cut a death glare to anyone who questioned your validity.
Hotch- emotion and mood disorders. Hotch is so steady when it comes to his mood and emotions and he's great at not taking things personally. So it doesn't matter how high or low you are or if you blow up at him and say things you don't mean because he knows it's not always in your control. You can depend on him to be okay when you aren't and make descision when you don't trust that you're in the right state of mind. He's your rock- always stable and consistent and reliable, even when you can't be.
Rossi- disordered eating. HEAR ME OUT OKAY. A lot of people who restrict have one special dish/snack that has significant and GOOD meaning to it and a lot of times it plays a really big role in recovery and Rossi would make sure you have that whenever you want. If you have more selective tendencies he's sure to get the exact thing you like every time because no child of his is going to eat generic we all know the brand name is better. Rossi believes that a relationship with food should be one of love and he helps foster that in the most sensitive and kind way possible

Emily Prentiss x daughter reader
Request from Ao3
Request: Hi! Can you please do a one-shot with Emily Prentiss x daughter reader where y/n gets into trouble at school for the first time (maybe she'd been bullied and finally just hit the bully out of reaction? Whatever is fine) and Emily had mixed feelings on how to deal with it? Thanks! (y/n is 11 btw) just angst with a fluffy ending?
Summary: Emily prentiss' daughter gets into her first fight at school wuth a bully, Emily gets called in and doesn't know how she should punish her daughter so when she gets to work she askes JJ and Hotch as they are also parents, Her daughter is 11
Third perosn pov...
It was supposed to be a normal day for Y/N Prentiss but of course for the 11 year old her school day was about to become worse.
It all started at morning break, Y/N was swinging on the swings when she was shoved off from behind, angry thrbgirl stands up and turns around.
When she did she saw Lucy one of the many girls who had for some reason decided at the start of the year that Y/N was her punching bag.
But this time Y/N had enough, she hated lying to her Mum about all the bruises she gets when she gets home from school.
Y/N crosses her arms and glares at the girl  "What now Lucy?" She asks, this surprises the other girl as she had never been spoken back to before by anyone.
The little brat of a child glares back at her usual punching bag "Oh what's this the punching bag can talk, what a surprise" she says mockingly
Y/Ns knuckles turns white, she was trying and failing to hold herself back from punching Lucy, she had training from her Uncle Derek just incase an unsub kidnapped her or for instances jsut like this.
Y/N stands her ground and stares back at Lucy, hoping her face would betray how scared she actually felt standing up for herself and everyone who was a victim to bullying.
"I'm not at stupid as you Lucy, at least I actually work hard and don't have my many many servants to do my work for me" talks back Y/N
This made Lucy even more pissed off, the cocky girl crossed her arms as pissed off look on her face. "Well at least I have a dad who loves me-" the 11 year old barely finished her taunt before she was tackled by Y/N.
The girls eyes were filled with anger as every punch and kick hits it mark, Lucy's screams were heard throughout the playground s she was attacked by Y/N. "You forget princess, I've been trained by FBI agents" Says Y/N with every punch not stopped her attack on the bully.
As Lucy's screams increased the group of cheering students didn't notice the teachers coming their way and breaking up the fight, Y/N was grabbed from behind and pulled away from Lucy.
Said girl was on the ground still covering her face with her arms as the attack stopped, Y/N struggled in the arms that grabbed her, suddenly the sound of the principal stopped her struggling
"Detention both of you and I'm calling both of your parents" he exclaimed as Y/N was walked to the nurses office to get her cuts looked at.
As least she wasn't as hurt as Lucy was, the little girl had cits and bruises all over her face, she also had a broken nose which Y/N was proud of.
All though Lucy did get some good punches in Y/N had a black eye and a spilt lip and was also covered in cuts and bruises, it took a while until both girls were covered up and sent to the Pricipalz office.
With Emily...
Emily Prentiss was nervous as she pulled up to her daughter's school. She had received a call from the principal informing her that her daughter was involved in a fight and the principal wanted Emily to come in to discuss it. Emily took a deep breath, steeling herself for what was to come.
As Emily entered the principal's office, she saw her daughter slumped in a chair, head down, not daring to meet her mother's eye.
The principal began by explaining what had happened. It seemed her daughter was being bullied by another girl and had finally had enough. She had gotten into a physical altercation with the bully.
Emily silently took it all in, a storm of emotions raging inside her. Part of her wanted to hug her daughter and tell her that she understood. But part of her was also angry, worried and scared. How should she punish her daughter?
When she returned to work, she approached JJ and Hotch, both of whom were also parents. She asked them what they would do in her situation.
JJ gave her a sympathetic look before launching into a long and winding tale about how her own daughter had once been involved in a fight.
She then explained how she'd more or less let it slide, acknowledging that her daughter had been in a tough spot and did what she felt she needed to do to stand up for herself.
At the end of JJ's story, Hotch added his own point of view. He said that while violence wasn't the answer, he agreed with JJ that in this situation there was nothing to be gained from punishing her daughter too harshly.
He suggested instead that she have a calm and rational discussion with her daughter about her actions and make sure she understood why violence was never the right course of action.
Emily nodded in agreement with what they said. She thanked them both for their help and headed home, ready to have a heart-to-heart conversation with her daughter.
Even though the situation had been difficult, she was glad that she had the support of her colleagues, both of whom had offered her sound advice as a parent.
The end!
I hope you liked this oneshot for Emily I love writing for her, any way as always so sorry for the grammar and Spelling mistakes.
Request are open!

OK so for the comfort prompt
Being hotch kid and coming out to him and the team ( trans and /or gay pls?)
Just transferring myself bc I know my parents would never accept me 😃
You had decided (on a whim on the way back from school) that you were going to come out today. To everyone, all at once. Best to get it all out the way and then you can all move on - that was your thought process and honestly, it was sound.
You're walking, holding Jack's hand (your dad had asked you to pick him up today as he was swamped with paperwork), when he looks up at you. "You look sad,"
"What? Me? I'm not sad," You give Jack a small smile, "I'm just a bit nervous,"
"Why?" He asks, looking up at you.
"Well... You know that thing I told you about a while ago? About me feeling like a boy?" When Jack nods, you continue, "Well, I'm going to tell everyone today."
"Does that mean you'll get your hair short like mine?!" Jack's face lights up when you nod. "Can we wear the same clothes? There's a girl in my class called Jess and she always wears the same clothes as her sister, even though her sister is older than her and it's so cool and now I have a brother to do that with!"
You stop, Jack doing the same. You embrace him tightly, "You have no idea how much that means to me," You mumble, Jack giggles.
"Can we match?!"
"We can match any time you want,"
"Every day!" Jack cheers, both of his arms shooting up into the air as he does so.
"Alright, alright, every day," You smile. "Come on, or we'll be late,"
You and Jack relax in Aaron's office whilst he finishes up his paperwork and soon, the three of you are heading back to the apartment to get changed to head to Rossi's for Friday Family Dinner.
When dinner rolls around, your anxiety has doubled. You couldn't help but think of all of the possibilities, good and bad. But mostly bad. Not because you thought it would necessarily go badly, but because you didn't know how everyone was going to react and that was slightly terrifying.
"Okay, here goes nothing," You mumble, seeing that you're nervous, Jack stands up, running over to you before climbing into your lap, and leaning back against you. You both stick your tongue out at each other before you clear your throat. "I, er, I wanted to talk to you all about something."
The chatter dies down and everyone's attention is on you. "I've been- I- I didn't plan this..." You get quieter as you talk.
Aaron gives you a concerned look, "We can step out for a moment to talk, if you'd like?" He offers, giving you a small smile, "Whatever it is, I'm sure everything will be okay."
"It's okay, I want to tell everyone at once." You nod, and Jack follows suit, giving a hard nod. "I've been thinking about this for a while, but I've realised I'm transgender, I'm- I don't really know how to describe it, but I know my pronouns are he/him. The only way I can think to explain is that I should be-"
"He's a boy!" Jack exclaims, "And he says we can match clothes! Because Jess and her sister does it at school and it's really cool and now I have a brother to match with! He says we can match every day!" You laugh slightly at Jack before looking up at the others in worry.
Aaron gives you a warm smile, leaning over, he embraces you both, lightly kissing the top of your head. "I'm so proud of you," He mumbled, you relax. Everything was okay. When the embrace ends, he looks at you, "Do you have a name in mind?"
"(Y/N)," You answer.
"I think it's perfect," He smiles.
"I have a brother!" Jack cheers, looking at the team, who all give a chuckle before giving you a smile, each of them letting you know that they were proud of you.
"You do know your dad's not going to be any easier when it comes to dating, right?" Derek teases and you grin as you roll your eyes.
"Speaking of..." Aaron says, "Is Hannah your girlfriend?" Aaron asks hesitantly. Not wanting to offend you either way, but worried about his eldest son growing up so fast and already dating. The idea of the pair of you growing up absolutely terrified him.
You screw your face up, "Ew, no gross!" You exclaim, "She's just a friend. Besides, I like guys."
Aaron nods a moment, taking everything in. "Okay, well, same rules apply. No dating. Ever." The smile on his face lets you know that he's mostly joking and you both laugh.
"He's got a crush on Brandon though!" Jack giggles and you immediately turn bright pink.
"Jack!" You exclaim, covering your face, Jack giggles.
"Oh really?" Aaron asks with a grin, "What's this Brandon like?"
"He's not really like anything really-" You rush out.
"He sits next to (Y/N) in maths!" Jack says, "And he plays football!"
"Oh my god..." You mutter, letting your head fall dramatically onto the table.

Aaron Hotchner (Criminal Minds)- Chapter 27
Tumblr media
“Can you hear me?”
You swallow.
“Clear as day.”
“That’s good. Your mind is only as strong as your body. I’m sorry if I’ve been pushing you too hard. I just feel better knowing that you’re fully equipped to handle any threat. Even if that threat is me.”
“You’re not that person anymore.”
Your words are resolute.
“It’s true you could have lightened up with that body slam, but no pain no gain right.”
“I need to find out who you keep getting these sayings from and put a stop to it.”
You giggle to yourself, and Reid gives you a look. Clearing your throat, you divert your gaze.
“Dad, I’ve got to go. Code Blue.”
“What the heck’s a code blue? You need to stop with this cop talk I’m not a profi-”
His words are cut off when Morgan walks over to your desk. You have your phone in your hand, and he wears a smirk.
“Texting your boo?”
Thankfully that was a good cover.
“Nope. I was just reading a funny article. “
You pocket the phone.
“Whatever you say.” He sounds like he doesn’t fully believe you as he walks away and you sigh.
Since your powers were growing, you needed to progress with them. You’d been taking both physical and mental measures. Your father was agile in both fight and power. So there was no debate on whether he could help you. So far the both of you had been determining the radius of your telepathic connection.
He was currently at a coffee shop, five miles away. That seemed to be your limit at the moment. It was great progress. When you started you could only feel him when he was in the same room. At the very beginning if he didn’t announce his presence, then you had no way of telling where he was. You’d grown so close to him. Not to mention his promise to make a change. He’d sworn to you that he would refrain from using his powers to smite. That too was a work in progress. You were very proud.
“Any word from Hotch?” You ask Reid.
You’d just closed a case. The three of you were at the Texas precinct waiting for Hotch, Prentiss and JJ to return with the unsub.
“They should be coming up any second now.”
The elevator dings, and you turn. Hotch walks in with a man in cuffs, followed by JJ, Prentiss and a few other officers. The detective working the case looks like he’s able to breathe easier. Hotch makes the exchange, passing over the unsub, and the detective nods. You stand, moving over. There has been a stop momentarily, the sadden expression of the killer’s wife was something you all had seen many times.
“She has a gun. (Y/N), protect Hotch!”
You flinch at your father’s words. Hotch’s back is turned, and your eyes widen as they begin to lead the woman’s husband away. She lifts her hand, and you scream.
“HOTCH GET DOWN!!”
He doesn’t truly have a chance to react, you sprint, tackling him to the floor at the very moment the gun goes off. It echoes, and every officer in the precinct reacts. Both your bodies hit the floor, and you can hear voices yelling as they restrain the wife. You’re on top of Hotch, and you brace one hand on the floor as you use the other to search him for injuries. Your palm runs over his face looking desperately for any kind of wound. Your eyes plead for his safety.
“H-Hotch are you okay!”
His eyes open, and he stares back into your worried gaze. Your face is so close to his, and he’s breathing steadily. You survey his body briefly, right before your eyes move back up to his dark orbs.
“I’m okay…”
It’s somewhat of a whisper. He looks a bit dazed, and you smile, letting out a breath of relief. You’re still unimaginably close, and you appear to realize, because you pull away hurriedly. You rise, and so does Hotch, just in time to see them lead the couple away. The team races to Hotch’s side.
“Hotch, are you hurt?” Morgan asks. Hotch shakes his head.
“I’m fine thanks to Ms. Black.” You rubbed your arm bashfully. Morgan is wearing a wide grin.
“That’s some reflex you have. I barely saw you move until you were both on the floor. Good job.”
You nod.
“I’m just glad you’re okay Sir.” You refuse to look him in the eye.
“I-I think I might have bruised my elbow, I’m going to see if I can pocket some ice.” You make quick movements in the opposite direction, and as you’re walking away, you do your best to get your hand to stop shaking. For a split second, you really thought you would lose Hotch.
“Dad..Thank you so much..”
He can hear the gratitude in your words.
“Anytime Sweetheart.”

Okay, so girl!dad jake made me think about girl!dad hotch. I am obssessed…
Aaron is convinced that baby girl hotchner will have some sort of blonde hair, because Sean is blonde, so is Jack - which means he carries the gene.
But when she arrives, she had dark hair - just.like.his, and it makes him 🥺🥺🥺🥺 and he just holds her, entirely smitten and coos down “you are daddy’s little girl aren’t you”.
Jack is obviously smitten with her as well, and he keeps wanting to hold her while sitting with you. Aaron is continuously reminding him that he needs to be gentle with the baby, and Jack just gets exasperated at one point and stares at him with his arms on his hips, the tiny man glaring at Aaron going “you too Daddy, you need to stop holding her so tightly”, because Aaron is almost (but obviously not hurting her) gripping her with his life.
Aaron would find himself doing a ton of things he did with Jack - legos, soccer, etc, but he would also find himself doing a ton of things he didn’t do with Jack - sitting around the living room having a pretend princess tea party with an assortment of soft toys, doing ballet pick up and drop off.
He would love love love bringing her into the office and having people coo over her, especially when she is a bit older, and Jack doesn’t want or need to be carried anymore, but your little girl still insists in being carried around - which Aaron is obviously more than happy to oblige. Penny has sent you a photo (secretly taken) of them both in his office, him reviewing his files, with a little bundle curled up and asleep in his lap and drooling over his tie.
The first time she brings her boyfriend over, Aaron is all frowny, fierce and “call me Mr Hotchner”, and you have to nudge him repeatedly and tell him to tone it down. And he is all like never >:( it makes your daughter entirely exasperated, and she tells him after her boyfriend leaves that he doesn’t need to be a big frowny FBI man at home, and that her boyfriend will probably never want to come over again. Aaron just goes >:) good, but has the decency to look just SLIGHTLY apologetic 🫥 because of how cross your daughter is.
Obviously he and Jack will lose their MINDS when she experiences her first break up. Aaron is pissed as hell that >:( someone >:( would >:( break >:( his >:( baby >:( girls >:( heart, and Jack also goes straight to big brother mode and drives her to school the next day and walks her in (much to her embarrassment), looking every inch the handsome young man he is and glares down at the bastard who broke his sister’s heart (it secretly makes Aaron very pleased and proud of Jack for doing what he can’t - duh).

hello, my lovely, so your hcs are the literal best! so i was wondering if you could do some headcanons for spencer in season 4 where him and reader have started dating and i was also wondering if they could be fluff and smut? thank you <3
firstly, i hope you're ready to be in some scary is-the-love-of-my-life-going-to-die situations
the first hug you get after he's out of the cult hostage situation is the best thing ever
the flight to colorado, realizing there's a 1/3 chance he's dead, every second until Rossi gets back from meeting Cyrus and tells you Spence is okay, when it's revealed he or Em is an FBI agent and when the building blows up with him in it are the worst moments
because this ^^ is really early on, it's also really early on in your relationship and it's when you both realize your feelings are very real
but you get to see some great moments, and witness some of his best hairstyles
the episode where he's looking at JJ and Emily asks him if he wants kids? yeah, he's got an answer now
then Vegas... uh, oh
you get to meet his mom though !! she has heard a lot about you from his letter and she's so amazing that you see where Spencer gets it from and even better, she immediately adores you
you stay behind with Morgan and Rossi which Hotch doesn't love but there was no way you were going back to DC
Spencer completely shuts you out during his 'my dad is a pedo and murderer' investigation
but when you get back to DC, you're like talk😕to😕me😕 and he caves, telling you everything, and you both cry together that night before you tell him how much you love him (for the first time)
you tease him lots because he's such a dad with Henry, showing you photos when JJ sends them, talking about the cute smile he did when he looked at him
and you get him those cringy t-shirts that some text relating to being a godfather
you tell him you're his only non-crazy fan when he deals with the guy in Masterpiece and of course, you're proud he's so smart to solve it
In 52 Pickup, he's not flirting with other girls, only with you and you admire how good he is at treating women
being proud of him during Conflicted because even though you weren't there, you know how much the Hankel case affected him
and then Amplification :((( and you thought you had your most stressful moments with him but he's literally been infected with an incredibly deadly form of anthrax and things really don't look good but you still have to work the case
and then he plays you the voice mail he made Garcia record 😭😭 and he's talking about how much he wishes he could get to marry you and have a family
and then he pulls out a ring which he's had since you helped him through the trauma of Vegas and you're both crying and now engaged
season 4 spence is a subby baby
and he loves it when you call him baby everywhere, but also good boy in the bedroom
this is his boob era, like all he wants to do is suck on your tits
getting hickeys is another one of his favorite things
he also loves it when you ride him, that's his favorite position
he starts growing his hair out because he liked it but he keeps growing it out because he fucking loves when you tug on it
Emily and Morgan make fun of Spencer a lot because he's such a simp and blushes like crazy

Meet the Parents
Tumblr media
Gif is not mine
Pairing: Aaron Hotchner x f!Reader
Warnings!: angsty, mentions of neglect, bad parenting, fighting, arguing, lots of yelling, parents saying degrading things towards reader, but happy ending between reader and hotch obviously
Description: Hotch meets your parents that have never approved of you or anything you do, how will he react when they begin picking apart your life?
A/N: not rlly sure if i love this one, but I hope you guys do. Probably a bunch of spelling errors, just warning you.
------------
It was a bad idea.
Of course it was a bad idea.
You really didn't know why you had to go through with this.
You never wanted to have to introduce him to your parents. You had hoped this day wouldn't come. They were... not the best parents in the world, to say the least.
But you were engaged, getting married in only a few months, and your parents had of course heard of your engagement from your older sister. She had accidently let it slip on her last visit.
And now you had to introduce him. And God you were terrified. They had belittled and picked apart each and every aspect of your life.
It wasn't really your father, more so your mother. But he had never stopped her and joined in occasionally.
They had always hated your decisions. You had joined the marines straight out of highschool, and went to the FBI academy after 4 years of service. You had then quickly made your way to the FBI's behavior analysist unit, and that was where you had met your now fiance, Aaron Hotchner.
And of course your mother disapproved. She had always wanted you to go the traditional route. Be a stay at home mom, married with kids by the time you were 20.
You were now 28 and just getting engaged, so of course your mother was going to have some complaints.
But you had never expected how the night actually had turned out.
You had been wringing your hands the entire way there. Aaron had been worried about you for the entirety of the trip. Constantly sending you glances, taking your hand in his own and squeezing reassuringly.
"It will be alright, love." He would tell you. You would simply glance at him shaking your head.
He didn't know how wrong he was.
Soon enough you pulled up into the driveway of your childhood home. Your heart beat widely as you stepped out of the car, meeting Aaron on the other side.
"I'm sorry." He shot you a confused look.
"For what?" he had asked.
"Just apologizing in advance." And with that you rang the doorbell. You heard footsteps and the door was yanked open. Your mothers shrill voice rang through the air.
"Honey! They're here." She sent a smile Aaron's way, and glanced at you dissaprovingly. "Darling. What on earth are you wearing?" You looked down at your simple dress and rolled your eyes.
"Good to see you too mom." She shook her head.
"Of course of course. Good to see you as well. And you must be Aaron? We have heard nothing about you." You scoffed, quickly covering it with a cough, as Aaron responded.
"Yes, Aaron Hotchner ma'am. Its wonderful to meet you."he stuck out his hand for her to shake, but she just turned around and strutted away.
"Do come in, we wouldn't want dinner to get cold. You're already 20 minutes late." She scolded as she walked through the kitchen door.
"Mom, we are 5 minutes early." You stated simply. She laughed like you had said the most absurd thing in the world. You just rolled your eyes.
Aaron shot you a glance and you smiled softly at him.
You gathered around your table, hoping for a somewhat pleasant meal. You father walked in glancing at Aaron before doing a double take.
"Ah you must be Aaron." Your father held out his hand hesitantly. Hotch shook it respectfully introducing himself.
"Yes sir, Aaron Hotchner." He nodded politely.
You all sat around the table and began eating in silence. Small talk here and there but mostly silence, until your mother finally spoke up.
"So, you two met at work?"she asked, disdain present in her voice.
"Uh, yes we did. We work together at the BAU." You replied, catching your mothers eye roll but electing to ignore it.
"Yes, I'm the unit chief, and Y/n is one of our best agents." You couldn't stop him before he made his mistake. And you saw the realization flashed in your father's eyes.
"Unit chief? Like the boss?" He asked.
"Shit." You muttered under your breath. "Yes dad, like the boss." You said a bit louder.
"You're dating your boss!" Your mother exclaimed.
"Mom, its not that big of a deal, he isn't my direct boss, another agent is." You tried explaining.
"Ugh, this government talk us just too much at the dinner table." She sighs dramatically and you shut up, not wanted to start a fight so early in the night.
You all continued eating until your dad spoke again.
"So Aaron you must be significantly older than Y/n." Your father continued. Aaron nearly choked on his drink.
"Um, there is a small age difference yes. But we have never let it bother us." God this was painful.
"No but, why on earth would you bother with a young, disappointment like Y/n? I mean she's obviously gained some weight. She had a dishonorable job for a woman. She doesn't have a family, and jmis just now getting into a serious relationship. I mean seriously Aaron, you could do so much better than, her." You could not believe the audacity of this woman. Your mother effectively silenced the entire table. You felt tears gather in your eyes. As you tried to stop them from falling down your face, Aaron set his wine down calmly and stood up.
"Your daughter is very far from a disapointment." He stated matter of factly. "She is by far one of the Best people that I know. She is the love of my life. She is one of THE most prestigious agents in the FBI, and is apart of one of the best teams in the country. She is the most amazing partner in the world, and had become my favorite person. I dont know how you consider yourselves decent human beings when you can sit here and degrade your own daughter like this. And I feel sorry that you can't see how amazing she truly is." He was nearly breathless when he finished. You stood up beside him.
"Aaron's, right. You guys are the most indecent human bei-"
Anger had flashed in your fathers eyes as he stood angrily, slamming his hands on the table, effectively interrupting you.
"How dare you come into our house and speak such words towards us!?" He yelled at Aaron and you with a furociousness you hadn't seen since you joined the marines.
"Sit down and shut up!" Aaron yelled right back, furious that your father had just interrupted you.
You decided it was time to step in and leave.
"Me and my fiance will be leaving now. I hope you have wonderful lives. And the next time I hear from you it better be an apology otherwise you will never be meeting your grandchildren. And my my wouldn't that just be very indecent." You finished in a mocking tone, spinning around and walking away, Aaron hot on your heals.
You somehow held off your tears till you reached the car and pulled into your driveway and then you completely broke down.
Aaron held you the best he could over the console, trying his best to make you feel better
"Sshhh, sweetheart, its okay." He whispered into your hair. "That was so brave. I'm so proud of you." You smiled slowly pulling away from him.
"Thank you Aaron, for everything you said in there. I never would have had the courage to say anything to them if it wasn't for you. So thank you." He was about to protest, but you shut him up quickly by pressing your lips to his in a passionate kiss.
"I love you." He mumbled against your lips.
You just kissed him harder, getting your message across loud and clear. You pulled away, wiping away your tears.
"I think they liked you." You mumbled a few seconds later, causing him to burst into laughter.
"Especially when I told your dad to shut up." You giggled at his statement.
"Especially then." You continued laughing as you leaned in kissing him again.
Never had you been happier for having a man like Aaron Hotchner.

“Atta boy, Jack!” Aaron yells from the side of the field, clapping his hands as his son scores another goal.
Beaming, you holler from the benches along with the crowd. You watch as your husband jogs up and down the sidelines with ease, keeping up with Jack’s soccer team. It’s a stunning Saturday morning and you are thrilled to spend every moment of it with the Hotchner boys. Your Hotchner boys.
When they asked Aaron to coach the team, how could he say no? After losing Hayley, he promised himself that he would do everything in his power to be there for Jack. When you first started dating, Aaron was hesitant to introduce you to his son. It wasn’t because he didn’t want you in Jack’s life, but rather he didn’t want to scare you away. You were a 26-year-old NCIS agent and he was a 40-something FBI agent. You knew he had a son, you knew he was a widow, and you knew he was older than you: but you didn’t care. You loved him. It took a little coaxing to get Aaron to open up to you about his fears, but once he did, you assured him then and there that you weren’t going anywhere. He introduced you to Jack the very same day. Four years later, you and Aaron are stronger than ever.
The ref blows the whistle, calling a break. Aaron motions for the kids to huddle in. He squats on the floor to get on their level, enthusiastically whispering, walking them through the next play. Your heart swells watching him talk to the group of children. Aaron Hotchner, always the hero, the role-model, the leader. Gentle yet powerful: he was intoxicating.
Your eyes dart over his crouched figure; the soft, heather grey of his t-shirt clings to his broad shoulders. You draw in a breath, a memory of last night flooding your senses, remembering how you held on to those shoulders for dear life as he pounded you into the bed. You feel your cheeks blush red, and you look up to the sky, shutting your eyes to collect yourself. Damn. Even just the thought of touching him gets your blood up.
You open your eyes, letting your gaze travel back to Aaron’s body, admiring how good his butt looks in those black Adidas track pants. You bite your lip a bit, feeling overwhelmed with joy, knowing that beautiful man, inside and out, was all yours. God, what you wanted to do to...
“Damn he is HOT. Way hotter than the old coach. I think his son is on the team?” A woman’s voice rings out from behind you.
“Yeah, I think so. Did you hear what happened to his first wife? So sad, lost her when his son was little. Apparently he’s shacked up with some 20-something-year-old now.” A second woman’s voice chimes in.
“No way. Him? Married to that? He needs a real woman, not some child. A man that experienced should be with someone his own age. I’m gonna talk to him after the game, see what his deal is.” The first woman replies, voice dripping with venom.
“I think you should!” Agrees the second.
“Oh, I will. I’ll make him an offer he can’t refuse.” Snickers the first.
They both laugh as you sit frozen in your seat, blinded by a wave of anger and sadness.
Some child? Someone his own age? Their hurtful words pierce right through your heart as you furiously blink back tears.
The ref blows the whistle, and the team scatters back onto the field. The ladies cheer behind you as the game starts back up. It takes all your strength not to break down under the crushing weight of their conversation. You take in some deep breaths, mulling over their comments. You weren’t “some child!” You were a grown-ass woman! You had a job! You were a federal agent! You loved Aaron and Jack: they were your whole world!
As you continue to give yourself a mental pep-talk, the hurt begins to dissipate as you realize how stupid those woman sounded. They didn’t even know you, or Aaron, or anything about your relationship. In that moment, you tell yourself that instead of wallowing in self-doubt, you would stand up to them and make it known that you were the only one for Aaron.
Just like that: you begin to feel a bit better. You focus all your attention on Aaron and Jack, letting the game fly by. You ignore the ladies gossiping behind you, and, by the time the kids are lining up to give the other team high-fives, you had pulled yourself together and come up with a plan to put these ladies right back in their place. You just had to wait for the right time to make your move.
“Wish me luck!” squeals the first woman. You can feel her getting up from the bleachers behind you.
“Go get him, girl!” sasses the second.
You watch as the woman walks down the aisle, her straight blonde ponytail swishing as she goes. She’s wearing blue-jean shorts and a white lace top: an outfit you’ve seen before on a hundred women who looked just like her. In any other circumstance you’d applaud her efforts (girls supporting girls, right?) but this was your man she had her sights on. No way. Not a chance. She wasn’t going to lay a single pink manicured finger on him.
Aaron is talking to the ref and the other team’s coach when she taps him on the shoulder.
Oh HELL no. You think, frowning.
He turns around and gives her a small, polite smile. You can’t hear the exchange, but after a few moments, she sticks out her hand to shake his, laughing. Aaron curtly returns the shake and turns back to finish up his prior conversation; but, this time, the blonde woman puts a hand on his arm again, lightly pulling him away. Your blood begins to boil. She gestures to the pack of kids, now getting drinks and snacks from the fold-up table next to the bleachers. Aaron nods, pointing over to where Jack is standing, sipping on some lemonade. She puts her hand on his arm again and tilts her head.
You decide it has been long enough. It’s go time.
You walk down the bleachers, picking up the hem of your baby blue floral sundress so you wouldn’t step on it as you descended.
The woman is still all over Aaron, clearly flirting. Aaron’s arms are crossed over his chest, lips in a terse smile. It didn’t take a profiler to know that his behaviour screamed “get me out of here.”
You fluff your hair a bit, letting it fall loosely around your face. With confidence, your feet hit the soft grass and you head towards your husband.
“Aaron!” you call out, waving and smiling as you near him, shooting daggers at the blonde woman by his side.
The moment he sees you approaching, you watch his entire demeanour change.
“Y/N!” he grins, excusing himself from the woman.
She whips around to face you with a vengeance as Aaron scoops you up, tanned arms firm around your middle. He spins you around as you laugh, surprised, looking down at him with pure elation.
He sets you down and, before you have a chance to say anything else, grabs your face in his hands, crashing his mouth into yours. You throw your arms around his neck and card your fingers in his hair, kissing him with the same fervour.
You can practically feel the adrenaline coursing through his veins. It’s hot and dominating: something about winning a game makes Aaron primal and giddy. You certainly aren’t complaining.
He breaks the kiss and lets his hands fall to your waist, squeezing lightly.
“Congrats on the win, Coach Hotchner.” You smile as you brush a lock of sweaty black hair off his forehead.
“Couldn’t have done it without my favourite cheerleader, Mrs. Hotchner.” He winks, pressing a light kiss to your forehead.
“Oh yeah?” You prod, cocking your head, looking into his gorgeous hazel eyes. “Who would that be?”
“Hm.” He pauses, looking up pensively.
He wraps his arms even tighter around your middle and dips his head down, whispering one word in your ear: “You.”
You laugh, swaying with him for a moment, capturing his lips in another kiss. As you pull apart, out of the corner of your eye you watch as the blonde woman stands frozen to the same spot, mouth agape. You smirk, feeling satisfied and self-assured knowing your little scheme was a success.
Then, like a rocket, you see Jack running towards you with a mile-wide grin on his flushed face.
“Y/N! Did you see? Did you see me make two goals?” Jack exclaims.
“Yeah buddy, I saw the whole thing!” You capture him in a bear hug, kissing the top of his head. You ruffle his hair and kneel down, looking into his soft brown eyes.
“I’m so proud of you. Did you have fun?”
“Yeah! I love soccer!” Jack nods.
“You did a great job Jack.” Aaron says, helping you stand. He wraps an arm around your waist and looks lovingly down at his son.
“You’re our soccer superstar.” You add, glancing between Jack and Aaron with unbridled joy. “Now go! Go back to your friends!” You laugh, shooing him away, back to the group of sweaty 8-year-olds and their snacks.
You stand there with Aaron, snaking your arm around his back to match his around yours. You both watch as Jack bounds off. A quick glance to the side shows that the blonde woman is long gone, probably stomping back up to her friend to whine and call you more names.
“Is she gone?” Aaron murmurs into your hair, pressing a gentle kiss to the side of your head.
You stutter, “How... how did you?” You trail off in disbelief.
“Oh please,” he smirks, “I had to stop you from practically biting her head off when you walked over.”
“Aaron!” you yelp, mocking upset. “You should’ve let me at her.”
He chuckles, lips twitching into a smile as he quirks one eyebrow up. “I couldn’t have my wife fighting with the aunt of one of my players. It’d reflect poorly on me.”
“She called me a child. Said that you should be with someone your own age. I think that warrants a free pass.”
His joking manner stops abruptly at your declaration. “That’s ridiculous and you know it,” he furrows his brow, shaking his head lightly.
You reach up and run your fingers over his scrunched forehead, soothing the lines into something softer.
“I know,” you nod.
Aaron pulls you into his side, wordless. Fingers tracing lightly over your hip. You knew he was thinking the same thing: no matter what they said, you knew in your heart that you and Aaron were meant to be. Age be damned. He was yours and you were his: forever. Simple as that.
“Mmm,” you sigh, taking in the beauty of the moment. You smile at the clear sky, the fresh air, and the feeling of the man you loved, right by your side. You two watch Jack as he talks and laughs with the other kids. He looks so happy to be surrounded by them: a natural conversationalist. You can’t help but start to think about how he would be the best big brother in the whole world. It makes your breath hitch in your throat a bit.
“What is it?” Aaron gives your side a squeeze.
Of course he could sense when your thoughts began to wander. Aaron was a man of many talents.
“Oh, it’s nothing.” You look up at him with a reassuring glance, returning the squeeze.
“Y/N...” Aaron trails off, hazel-brown eyes searing into yours.
Damn your gaze, Hotchner.
You look away, letting your arm drop from his waist and move to step away a bit: he grabs for your hand instinctively, keeping you next to him. His big hands engulf your small ones, fingers entwined.
You know he is still staring at you, but you can’t bring yourself to look at him yet. Your eyes refocus on Jack.
“I was... I was thinking,” you begin. “I love you. I love you so much, no matter what anybody else says. And I love Jack like he’s my own.”
You breathed in, prepping yourself mentally for what you were about to say next.
“Jack is so good with other kids.” You continue, “He loves being social, being a teammate.”
You gather the strength to meet your husband’s famous glare.
“And watching you coach these kids? You’re so good with them, Aaron. You make every one of them feel special. You give 110% of your heart, and I am so lucky to be your co-coach in life.” You tell him in earnest.
“Aaron,” you carry on, emboldened, “I think it’s time we added a new member to the Hotchner team” you finish, searching every inch of Aaron’s face for recognition.
You watch as he takes in the information. After a few beats, it clicks.
“Y/N,” his expression softens, “Do you want to have a baby?”
You bite your lip and nod, eyes wide and hopeful.
Aaron nearly explodes with happiness; his eyes crinkle as he smiles down at you, unable to speak. And then, his warm body envelopes yours, solid but soft: unmistakably Aaron.
You let out a shaky laugh and bury your head in his neck, breathing in the smell of cologne and light sweat.
He pulls back a little, one hand tilting your chin up to look at him.
“Oh my god, Y/N,” he shakes his head in disbelief.
“Does that mean yes?” you ask, in a small voice.
Aaron laughs again, letting out a sigh. He tucks a strand of hair behind your ear, letting his hand linger on your cheek. You lean into his touch.
“Yes,” he says, giddy. “Let’s have a baby.”
The sound of children laughing fills your ears as you grab the back of his head and pull Aaron into a soft kiss. The kiss is full of promise: a gentle pact, sealing the deal. You and Aaron were going to have a baby. Jack was going to have a little brother or sister.
You pull away, arms still around his neck.
“I love you, Aaron.” You breathe out.
“I love you, Y/N.” He whispers back.
Nobody on this planet could shake the bond you and Aaron had. Suburban soccer moms be damned.

Go Little Hockey Star
(A/N): This is based on a concept I wrote a few days ago. I hope you like it as much as I do :)
Summary: At first Spencer worries that he is not able to be at his daughter's first hockey game. Then he gets additional worries about her well being while practicing a rough sport (or in other words: Spencer being the supportive dad he would have been, if we weren't robbed of Dad!Spencer)
Warnings: I have zero knowledge about ice hockey, so every term I used is thanks to a website I found through Google, and there are a few curse words
Wordcount: 1.6k
✨Masterlist✨ _____________________________
“What got your panties in a twist today,” Derek teases his friend, who sighed for the third time today, and it’s not even lunch time. “It’s nothing, just- (Y/N) told me her team’s next game is this weekend and it’s her first opportunity she is not on the bench. I’m worried she will get hurt.” Spencer answers honestly.
His mind circles around that subject ever since his daughter told him about these exciting news last night at the dinner table. And while he is incredibly happy and proud of her, he is scared that she will get hurt.
“Ah yes, she started playing hockey right? This means all the hours on the ice with her are paying off.” Derek is referring to all the weekends, and sometimes weekdays, he took his goddaughter out for a few rounds of skating. A few rounds always turned out to be several hours, but nobody complained. Spencer always saw her benefitting from it, both her physical and mental health and her bond to her uncle.
Still, he looks at his friend in deep worry. “I mean yes, but hockey is such a brutal sport, why didn’t she choose to get into figure skating? This would be a lot safer than a bunch of people with wooden sticks in their hands chasing after a little black plastic thing.”
“Oh, is it about (Y/N)’s first game?” Penelope excitedly asks, just going by because she needed to get something approved by Hotch. “She texted me about this yesterday and was totally thrilled.” Her eyes light up at the thought of her little birdy showing the other team what hockey means. “Oh my god, can we all go and watch it? Make a team thingy out of it with a little celebration party at Rossi’s?”
Just as Spencer wants to answer, telling her how much he appreciates her elation, Rossi butts in, who listens to the whole conversation from the catwalk. “Garcia, I’m not doing little celebrations in my backyard. I do, how do the kids phrase it these days? I go big or go home, right that’s it.”
A mutual quiver goes through the small group upon hearing their senior using those few words. “Rossi, please do us all a favor and never say something like this again,” Emily tells him on behalf of the others, who nod in agreement. He looks at them in hurt pride. “Well, then you don’t want me to host a big celebration for our little Reid?” The teasing tone in his voice reveals that of course he will do it, after all he kind of is the Supportive Grandpa of the BAU Children. It comes with the deal.
“Sorry guys, but there is a possibility that this will not happen. We got a case and it’s a bad one,” Hotch calls out to them while rushing into the roundtable room, the rest of the team following him.
After having the case pitched to them by JJ and doing their first round of brainstorming, everybody is on their way to get a few things sorted before they meet at the airstrip to board the jet. Hastily Spencer calls his daughter while grabbing his go-bag from under his desk.
“Hey Sweetheart, I’m about to go on a case in California. I’m not sure how long this one will be. I may not be able to make it to your game, I’m so sorry.” His face twists into a sad look. “It’s alright, Dad. Don’t worry, we’ll win for you, doesn't matter where you are. Just come back home in one piece, promise?” “As long as you promise the same thing for your game.” After a bit of teasing they end the call. With a sigh the father puts his phone back into his pocket.
“I guess she didn’t take it well?” Derek asks based on his friend’s reaction. Spencer shakes his head. “She did better than I’ve hoped for and that’s the problem. She was too understanding, meaning she already saw this coming. And that’s what devastates me.”
Rossi, who once again listened to a conversation that was not really meant for him, cuts in. “May come hell or highwater, I will make sure that you, Doctor Reid, get to see your child’s game, and if I have to drag that Son of a Bitch of an UnSub myself out of his hiding.” Appreciating his consolations, Spencer smiles at Dave.
What the whole team thought would be a joke, is a bitter reality: David Stephen Rossi, also known as man of the hour now, pesters everybody through the case. He even annoys the local PD so much with asking for updates, giving harsh orders or questioning their capability, that Hotch gets an earful from the local captain.
“I told you Reid,” he says gleefully a few days later, everybody sitting in their respective seats on the jet, happy that this nightmare of a marathon-case is finally over,”We will make it in time for the game. I guess it’s a good thing that I ordered catering and all for tomorrow. After bringing the goal home, you are all invited for a celebration party á lá David Rossi.”
Spencer smiles gratefully. “I- Thank you so much Rossi, I really appreciate this. But please, I don’t want anybody to feel pressured into coming. I know this case was draining and you all need your recommended hours of sleep and time with your own families.” He throws his arms around while talking, trying to get them to understand that there will be no hard feelings.
“Reid, we all are coming. We don’t want to miss (Y/N)’s first time on the ice for the world.” Hotch looks at him with a serious face, telling him that he is honest while speaking on the behalf of the team, who nods.
“Dad, I don’t think I can do this. Maybe Aunt Penny and Uncle Derek can fake a medical emergency and distract everybody, so we can get away without being seen?” (Y/N) looks at her father with a pleading expression, her nerves getting the better of her. Sitting on a bench with all her attire and gear already on, she is about to undo the laces of her ice skates.
Spencer kneels down in front of her and stops her motion by putting his hand over hers. “No, we are not calling this off, Sweetheart. You worked so hard to be in the place you are right now, I can’t let you throw all of your sweat, tears and dedication away, just because your body is acting on a stress response by boosting adrenaline into your bloodstream along with other hormones. You will go out there, take those skates onto the ice and show everybody that being a Reid is much more than a book and a smart fact.” The end of his monologue turns into a motivational speech he memorized beforehand from a movie he watched to prepare him for what can happen today.
(Y/N) nods in self-confidence. “You are right. I can do it. I’m capable and here for a reason. Thank you, Dad. I love you. See ya after the game!” Quickly the teenager gets up and presses a kiss on his cheek before exiting the locker room, catching up to her teammates.
“Oh look! Little Reid is out there, the colors are really suiting her,” Penelope gushes, being dressed in the same ones and even having red and white strips drawn on her cheeks to match with it. “Yeah, she just needed something motivational that could have come from Morgan,” Spencer tells the team, giving his best friend a smirk.
Everybody is there with their families, ready to cheer (Y/N) on. And they are the loudest, no matter what happens, if it’s her name being called out with her position over the speaker or her scoring a goal.
To be real and honest: Spencer is the most thunderous of them all. He also is dressed in red and white from toe to head, and while he really is cheering for his daughter like there is no tomorrow, he also screams the loudest when she is smashed by someone against the rinks or falling down on the ice whilst grasping on Derek’s (pretty firm) bizeps. He is sure to have some bruising going on there for the next few days.
But that doesn’t really matter, since like Rossi predicted, their team wins this game. Everybody is sure they will have a sore throat from all the screaming and shouting they do, especially when (Y/N) exits the locker room, wearing her normal clothes again.
“I knew it, I knew you would make this game,” Rossi is the first one to greet her, pressing a kiss on each cheek in his typical Italian fashion. One after one congratulates her, enveloping her in a hug as long as she is fine with it or just giving her a high five, the ever present smile not leaving the teenager’s face once.
“You can’t imagine how proud I am of you. You did it, you showed them all what you can do.” Spencer tells her while it’s his turn to hug her. A few tears make it into her eyes. “Thank you for always believing in me, Dad. I know this isn’t easy for you. Also, I think you need to rub some heating gel on a few places on my back later, the bruises already hurt like a son of a biscuit.” This gets a laugh from him, just being happy she is alright after being smashed against the rink countless times.
