#Hobbystreak Day 46.
Well today was a little more busy than I thought :/
Still managed to get some painting in though, drybrushing the bases of the Veletarii (which I had forgotten to do)

Addressed to the Lord Primarch of the XV Legion Astartes, Magnus the Red.
The Lord Primarch of the III Legion Astartes, Fulgrim the Illuminator, salutes you.
.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-
Master of Prospero, I hope that this message find you in good health and fortune.
I write to you because I wonder if you would honour me by answering a quandary. I have seen your set of armour first-hand, and you made quite a striking impression the first time I saw you in it. Yet, a single detail of the design has puzzled me over the years. If I may be so bold to ask: Why did you choose to include horns protruding out of your plate? More interesting still, where do they come from?
I look forward to receiving your correspondence and hearing news from you. I bid you farewell.
.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-
It came during one of the quieter moments that Magnus had allowed himself after his period of adjusting to the Imperial way and introducing his Legion to the disciplines of Prospero. A note, ferried by a courier attached to the Spireguard, arrived for him from one of his brothers.
His brothers. Family beyond that of Tizca and outside of the Emperor. Of course he knew about them before he had met them, but it would take some getting used to. Though, naturally, Magnus would never admit that to anyone else.
Magnus read the transmission, a smile immediately breaking on his face. He chuckled warmly, then composed his response.
Addressed to the Lord Primarch of the III Legiones Astartes, Fulgrim the Illuminator.
The Lord Primarch of the XV Legiones Astartes, Magnus the Red, hails you.
---
Well met, Phoenician. I hope this response adequately answers your inquiry, and finds you in high spirits and an open mind.
My warplate has been the cause of much curiosity, though most questions have been less kind and well-worded as yours has. To give you an honest answer, it is inspired from older legends and folklore associated with the Prosperine people. It draws from a similar piece of mythology that inspired the creation of the Blade of Ahn-Nunurta. It can also serve as a wonderful impromptu bookshelf from time to time.
The horns themselves come from ivory sourced by local fauna on Prospero. There is more to the process, but I am currently not at liberty to discuss such secretive matters.
If you have any further questions, by all means, do not hesitate to ask. I am more than happy to answer.
--
The response is sent off, and Magnus returns to his studies and meditations in peace.

Next edition of 40k/Chaos Marine Codexes should give each Chaos God (and and an Undivided version) a “Fallen Sisters of Battle” Unit. Could be cool.
Khrone ones being fast-attack jetpack unit, twisted “Valkyries” that are visually inspired by Valkia.
Nurgle ones being elites, a unit that buffs nearby poxwalkers and the like, twisted Sister Hospitallers.
Tzeentch ones leaning more into the more “Professional Soliders” rather then corrupted slaves, better equipped Warriors, inspired by the Prosperine Spireguard.
Slaanesh ones.... You Get The Idea.
...
Undivided ones come in either “regular version” which tend to be equipied simillarly to their loyalist “cousins”, or more “Preacher” elite versions which buff nearby cultists.

Hello. I have a question regarding your old Age of Darkness RPG project. Do you have any notes about unreleased material about Chaos/Imperial Army ad, if so, would be willing to share it with me?
The closest I got to the Imperial Army was the Tempestus Marine in Armada Explorator as one variant of a theoretical Tempestus Scion elite advance. It would basically have been Only War retrofitted to DH2E (dropping the buddy system) with additional named regiments from the Heresy novels (Lucifer Blacks, Prosperine Spireguard, etc.) and modifications and/or additional specialisms based on the Forge World Imperialis Auxilia rules.
Chaos is a bit more complicated. I've added a link to the VERY unfinished Liber Chaotica WIP. It's mostly just Chaos Space Marines with a few other bits here and there. A lot of it is just headings where you can see what I was planning to add at some point.

Nostraman Auxiliaries?
It's mentioned that most, if not all, of the twenty legions had auxiliaries from their respective homeworlds.
The Thousand Sons had the Prosperine Spireguard, The Ultramarines had the Ultramar Auxilia, etc. and have a basic description of both in terms of demeanor and appearance.
I'd imagine Nostraman Auxiliaries have the "ends justify the means" approach as the Night Lords Legion as well as the tendencies for corruption and infighting as their homeworld.
Uniform wise, I'm imagining uniforms akin to the armies of the Eastern Bloc w/ the familiar overabundance of greatcoats and visored hats and/or field hats with the (in)famous Nostraman Dark Blue & Red Color scheme.
Opinion?

Started painting the Dracosan! Unfortunately, I accidentally dropped some of the tanks while I was moving them, causing some of the swords to break off ;—;

#Hobbystreak Day 237. Woah, remember these guys? Turns out I only had a little bit of work left to do on these five Veletarii so I spent some time getting em all to the same stage. Now it's just transfers and the base rim (and maybe a little drybrushing)
