sidenote but its extremely funny when anti-lunter people refer to it as proshipping. Like bro. that is not what this is. You headcanoning them as siblings does not mean that they are. This actually happened with two of my followers. I think it was either 2021 or 2022, but one of them went through my friend's likes on twitter because they deemed the art she posted "problematic". This mutual then proceeded to message me about it, asking that I confront her about this. My friend was forced to out herself as a survivior of trauma and explain why she used this kind of artwork as a means of healing from what she experienced. And this is someone I've known for over a decade, who has always supported me and never hurt anyone. One of the nicest people I associate with, taken advantage of by family members she trusted. My friend had her privacy violated by this mutual, all because they jumped to conclusions over it.

While this situation was resolved, it doesn't change the fact that this sort of invasive, controlling behavior crosses boundaries, no matter what reasons are given. Self-proclaimed antis harbor the same rhetoric as rightwingers. My mother works full-time at a library, which is being threatened by Catholic zealots over religious books not "being featured"… even though there is a whole section dedicated to them. Kirk Cameron is one of the individuals pushing this ridiculous narrative, as he forced the staff to allow him to host story hour. Meanwhile, said zealots have tried to defund the library because it gives patrons access to LGBT-themed books, using drag queens as a scapegoat for their own biases. Mom has been supportive of me ever since I came out as trans. She got me the novel Annie on My Mind years ago, which helped me to understand my sexuality more. And she could lose her job because the township won't do anything about these people.

I've dealt with the knowledge that they exist for years. I wish we didn't give them voices. Life is short, and the fact that they choose to spend it dragging others down over fiction, of all things, feels like a waste.

Like sure it potentially creates more victims, it isn’t a good mechanism to cope if you feel guilty, yes it often makes you normalize these type of content or behaviour so it doesn’t seem ‘that bad’ (speaking from my own experience getting groomed for being in those communities at a young age) and when it isn’t a coping mechanism it is pretty fucked up to get off to the thought of teenagers/kids or incest but for Christ sake just block them and move on

Hi there! Yeah you can! My opinion is complicated probably but hopefully it suffices enough

Its not MY place to say what can and cannot be created/written/drawn/said/etc . one because I'd be a hypocrite, some of the stuff I've made myself would fall into the dead dove category. Censorship will do more harm than good, and engaging with some things in fantasy is more than healthy enough . Dark and problematic content is healthy to consume, and as long as everyone involved is a consenting adult (and preferably not related but . You get me) you can do whatever you want with eachother in your own time. as long as you know when to draw the line, or realize If you Are hurting yourself or others.

Proship however is a term I cannot stand, and I will never get along with someone who would willingly and proudly wear that label, and besmirch anyone for being an 'anti'. Part of having awareness in the stuff you consume is fully acknowledging fiction, no matter what type, impacts the reality around you. To glorify things like pedophilia and claim creating and producing CP and the like cannot hurt anyone is a take I firmly disagree with, because to have that take is to deny reality around you. I have been taken advantage of and groomed by people who insisted to me they can't be pedophiles, even if they're RPing adult x child ships with me as a 13 year old , because it clearly can't affect reality. And clearly shouldn't affect me as much as it Has as an adult.

Its one of those issues where I am not about to go harass people for being proshi or the like, I am far more likely to block and move on, but have it be known I do not respect them.
