So a woman in Australia got arrested for writing a book where an adult man becomes romantically and/or sexually interested in his friend's daughter when she was 3, and then starts pursuing her when she's 18.

There apparently- according to a TikTok commenter- was also scenes in the book where the girl masturbated when she was under 18. I haven't read the book, but I think this gives a gist either way of what people have a problem with.

She's being charged with "[possessing] child abuse material, [disseminating] child abuse material and [producing] child abuse material" <- Direct quote found in multiple articles.

There's also been people on TikTok that said she dedicated the book to her real children ( both are apparently under 5 years old. ) Which would be weird and gross if true, but I can't find anything on this, so take that with a grain of salt.

I'll also include a quote from the woman I found in a few of the articles I read: "I think there's been a huge misunderstanding. DLT ( Daddy's Little Toy ) is DEFINITELY NOT promoting or inciting anything EVER to do with (child sexual abuse) or pedophilia. What is being said is grossly disturbing and breaks my heart as well as makes me sick" <- Said in a post by Tori Woods ( her pen name )

Either way, in the few comments I've seen on TikToks about it, people were mostly calling for similar authors to be arrested, people being shocked/grossed out/disturbed, and people discussing the legality of it/if she can be charged/the laws of Australia. People also brought up loli/shotacons and if the police can start arresting those people, too, in some of the comments.

So yeah. Do with this information as you will. I just thought I'd share the situation on here since I see this sort of as a warning sign as to what might come in regards to world-wide censorship.

Do note that people were being called pedophilies, groomers, etc for even giving an inkling of defense to Tori Wood, including when people called it censorship for her to be arrested.

Do also note I didn't use Tori's real name here since she's been going by her pen name in regards to this book, and I'm fairly certain her real name was only leaked due to the arrest. I could be wrong, but I'd rather be safe than sorry when it comes to stuff like this.

Proship is an inherently punk ideology. The production of transgressive and taboo art is an inherently punk thing. You cannot be against the production of weird fiction and be punk because punk is about liberation for the weird and estranged people of society and the right to freedom of expression.

I'm not one to usually gatekeep, but with the recent talk of the american TikTok ban going around, I keep seeing people suggest moving to Tumblr. While I do appreciate new people coming over to our platform, I am concerned that TikTokers of all people coming. Tiktok is the #1 social media spot for antishippers. The problem is so bad there you can't even leave a comment with "🍖🌈" in your name without being attacked by antis even if the initial comment had nothing to do with ship discourse. All I'm saying is I'm worried that if Tiktokers start using Tumblr, there will be way more antis here, and the problem will become rampant. Tumblr, at least from what I've seen, is a pretty accepting community when it comes to profic/proship, and I'm scared of that being ruined.
