i’d like to tell you that i’ve made mistakes

that i always wanted you in my life

that i was ready for you and all the things you needed

but we both know that isn’t true

Just this on a Wednesday morning. ✨💜✨ We can Believe a lot of things about ourselves-I'm too introverted for that, I'm not a morning person, I'm not good at math, I do encourage others, I'm sometimes articulate, I have a passionate intensity that some people don't get and some people like, etc. Like I said, a lot of things. If our beliefs truly create our reality, try believing something deeply true about yourself, such as your innately loving nature. Today, practice this belief the way you would practice music scales or asana. Say it as you pour coffee..."I am loving,"...drive to work, "I am so loving," as you realize you forgot to do that thing you even reminded yourself to do before leaving the house, "Because I am so loving, I love myself even now." Keep saying it. Watch how it softens your edges and starts to move in to the home of your heart. May make residents there. You. Are. Use your yoga practice, meditation, baths, singing in the car, artfully saying no, freeing saying yes, reading a book--whatever it is--to create good space for yourself, and ultimately, others this holiday season. When life comes as you with a lot of noise--that external distraction that pulls your attention, time, emotions, and is often the static of someone else's drama--, come back to your own story, your own dharma. How? Listen to your gut. Is this material for your own transformation, or noise blasting out the window of someone else's car? Does this make your heart beat toward bravery and authenticity, or are you just slightly annoyed at the white noise of politics, he said/she said, rumor and trend? I'm not suggesting we sequester ourselves away from others' stories, only that we practice self-care in distinguishing what is there's versus what is truly ours.
