Chrissy turns to look at her. They're sitting in Steve's bimmer’s hood, waiting for him to get their snacks at the gas station. Nancy is sleeping in the front seat, and they can distantly hear Eddie's van coming closer every second, reaching them, metal blasting through the speakers, carrying the rest of the gang.

“Yeah?” she asks. Robin nods, still not looking back. Checking her nails. “What's that mean?”

“Uh. I saw the horoscope, from Nancy's magazine. The one you were reading earlier.” She glances at Chrissy, sideways, her lips quivering just a bit. “You're a cancer, right?”

“That I am.”

“Like Steve.”

“Like Steve,” she confirms. She might know where this is going. “This magazine's horoscope talked about, uh. Couples.”

“Yeah, that.” Robin looks at her, then. Finally. Her eyes are so pretty, Chrissy thinks. “Romantic ones.”

“Cancer and Pisces. It said-”

“Match made in heaven.” they say together.

Chrissy giggles. Yeah, she knows where this is going.

“You and Steve are a good pair.”

“NO, but!” Robin startles, going all read and her hands seem prepared to gesticulate all around. Chrissy loves it when she does that. Finds it charming. “Me and Steve, we could. Like. Never.” She fakes a gag. “Literally. Gives me the heebie-jeebies only thinking about it, honestly.”

There's a beat of silence. Chrissy hasn't looked away, and neither has Robin even though she's redder than a tomato. It makes her freckles pop. It's so cute, Chrissy thinks.

“So, you and me then?”

Robin purses her lips and for a second Chrissy's afraid she's got it wrong. But then there comes that huge, blinding smile of hers. Chrissy thinks she might be in love, or something.

“Yeah, exactly what I was thinking.”

  “Wasn’t she the one that messed up their dance routine?”  She could hear their whispers and their laughter as they snickered.  Someone must have recorded her sad performance last week.  Her instructor was upset with her, and the audience laughed when she tripped.  It was always the same three girls that would gather around to make fun of her.  However, her ghost sister, Mika, would always tell her to stand back up and keep dancing.  No matter how much tears will fall.  No matter how much her feet and ankles hurt.

Dance like there is nothing wrong.

“They will pay eventually, Mai-chan!” Mika would always say.  “One day!  Keep smiling and dance!”

At least someone was in her corner.  Always, even though she was family.  Even though she was dead already.  Enkai Maiko has always had support from the other side.  Her twin sister, Enkai Mika, died from complications surrounding her birth.  Mika always guided and guarded Maiko ever since.  They were inseparable.  Ever since she told Mika she needed to stand up to her own bullies, Mika had taken a step back.  She cheered for her from the sidelines, but it was hard.  Maiko or “Mai”, has always relied on Mika to beat them up.

“I know, but they always like watching me fall,” Mai said as she clenched the strap of her duffel bag.  It was after class.  She sighed, as Mika reached out and patted her head.  Mai was the only living person she could touch.  She continued to float, watching for any sign of Mai’s enemies.

“You should see if they have energy for what’s-his-face,” Mika said.  She glanced down at Mai.

“I rather not,” Mai replied as she looked down at the ground.

“They won’t stop,” Mika reminded her sister, concerned.

Mai nodded.  “Until Rin has ruined me,” Mai agreed.  “Problem is, he wants stronger people’s energy.  Rin and her friends don’t have that.”

Mika floated in front of Mai.  “How would you know?  You never tried.”

“Maybe, I can ask Izumi-chan, Miko-chan, and Kyou-chan what they think!” Mai smiled, referring to her friends Hoshino Izumi, Igarashi Mikoto, or Koyano Kyoumi or rather, Victoria, Bellum, and Mors.  As for Mai, she was Fames, or Famine of the team.

“Wait a minute, Mai!  You don’t know if they’re on your side anymore!” Mika gasped and hurriedly floated after Mai.  “Remember Miko-chan’s failure?  You were afraid when he nearly blasted her off the platform.  You could not do anything for her.  She met each of your eyes.”

Mai’s eyes widened as Mika caught up with her again.

“I … I know,” Mai said, sadly.  “He’s pitting us up against each other.  Where are Rin and her friends now?”

“Probably on their way home.  You can catch them ditching dance class tomorrow,” Mika answered.

“Then, I won’t need their help.  I’ll do it on my own,” Mai promised, her bangs covering her eyes.

  -Next Day-

“Came to show more of your pathetic skills, Enkai-chan?” asked a trendy brunette.  She twirled  a strand of her hair as she partially crossed her arms over her chest.  The two girls behind her snickered.

Mai could feel another wave of humiliation overcome her.  However she clenched her fists and stood her ground.  She smirked.  “Maybe, but you’re the one who has been ditching most of her classes.”  She ran two fingers in front of herself and spun.  Water swirled around her as she transformed into a deep blue, almost black armor.

Rin and the girls’ eyes widened.

“She just like… transformed!” one of her lackeys screamed.

“Yeah!” the other of Rin’s lackeys agreed.

They tried to run, but Rin stayed.

“What are you up to, Enkai!”  Rin growled, her fists shaking.

Mai mimicked Rin’s pose earlier, one arm over her chest.  The other hand rested against her ear.  She tilted her head and giggled.

“You humiliated me, Rin.  Not anymore,” she smiled, as she dragged the lackeys back with a lasso of water.  She summoned another few tendrils of water and shot them at Rin.  The water wrapped around Rin’s wrists and ankles.  Mai merely chuckled as she siphoned energy from the last of the group.  She let go of the girl.

Mai summoned a portal.  “See, their energy isn’t as high as those Sailor Senshi, Mika!”  She complained as she looked at the ball of energy resting in one of her hands.

“It should still be enough for now, Fames!”  Mika called as Mai disappeared in the watery portal.

December 2022 Important Dates

AKA my notes on The Astrology Podcast's December forecast. Today’s episode is hosted by Chris Brennan, Austin Coppock, and Aerin Fogel.

November Recap: Elon Musk's acquiring of Twitter happened in the aftermath of the October eclipse in Scorpio, with some of the biggest chaos bookended by the eclipses. The blue checkmark impersonations are fit with the Mars retrograde in Gemini, where we expect to see mischievous doppelgangers. Our hosts also connect deceptions to the Jupiter-Neptune conjunction in April casting political confusion and spreading illusions throughout the year. The Taurus eclipse in November coincided with the US midterm election, with results that may have wide-reaching effects. The collapse of the FTX cryptocurrency exchange also coincided exactly with the lunar eclipse in Taurus, a follow-up to the Taurus solar eclipse earlier this year, when the Luna cryptocurrency (which had some of the same shareholders) collapsed. This is also part of the larger Uranus in Taurus story, where currency and banking have seen abrupt and dramatic changes. Austin points out that the Taurus-Scorpio eclipses this year have highlighted differences in material (earth) and liquid (water) assets--inflation is when material goods are much more valuable compared to the liquid asset of money.

December 1st - Venus (♐) opposes Mars (♊Rx) All the inner planets will oppose retrograde Mars as they transit Sagittarius, though Mercury has cleared this aspect by the first of the month. The Sun’s opposition to Mars a week later represents the culmination and halfway point of the retrograde. Our broader knowledge is being funneled into something specific. Here’s the Mars retrograde graphic from Stella on Reddit:

Mars retrograde in general connotes a bit of wild energy, and in Gemini may indicate shoulder/neck/upper back injuries specifically. This is also a time of harsh words, which can sometimes play out cathartically. Find the house(s) of your chart where Gemini falls to see which areas of life is affected for you personally. More about this in the December 7th Full Moon section.

December 3rd - Neptune (♓) stations direct This means an intensification of Neptune’s significations in Pisces. (A/N: think dissolution of the self, sacrifice, and idealistic dreams.)

December 6th - Mercury enters Capricorn Mercury has more impact that usual right now because he rules Mars in Gemini. In strategic, pessimistic Capricorn, Mercury prompts us to consider how the terrain has changed. He’s also going to retrograde in this sign at the end of the month and through much of January, prompting us to take stock of the game board and make a plan for success in the next round. More on this under Venus’s ingress and Mercury retrograde sections.

December 7th - Full Moon at 15 degrees of Gemini

Mars is conjunct this lunation at 16♊, with the lights are moving immediately towards their own aspects with him. In fact, Mars opposes the Sun within hours of the lunation. One signification is the “duderang”/men returning to people’s lives, and Aerin says to expect revelations as the lights illuminate Mars, whose conflicts may have been fuzzy from his square to Neptune.

Mars, especially in this sign, can be a contrarian: either playing devil’s advocate or a warrior refusing to enter the conflict. There’s an explosive berserker side and a side that leaves conflicts that aren’t serving us. Mars rx in Gemini also foreshadows the upcoming Uranus return of the USA, which enters large wars every time Uranus enters Gemini due to its own Gemini Mars. There have been significant tech layoffs as well; Mars is great for cutting things out. Physical associations with Mars include piercing or impact injuries and inflammation.

An idle Mars is a restless and destructive Mars, so it serves us well to channel Martial energy into something productive during his long trek through Gemini. Stagnant Mars is a fire waiting to happen, but at the same time we should be careful not to let the fire spread out of control. Get active, but don’t work out so hard you get injured. Children learn to say “No!” under their first Mars return--we may need to learn how and when to refuse. Is there even a prize if you win this fight? Be sure to consider tactics and strategy if you choose to engage. Gemini Mars can also manifest as being pulled in so many directions at once that we can’t move. Protests are another an outlet for Mars energy, which we’ve been seeing in the news.

December 8th - Sun opposes retrograde Mars Depending on your time zone, the Full Moon and Mars-Sun opposition likely occur on the same calendar day.

December 9th - Venus enters Capricorn Following Mercury’s ingress, Venus wants us to have value in the actions we take. We’re also now in the second half of the Mars retrograde, which makes it easier for us to take action. Most of Mars’s cards have been played already, so though the game continues, we can plan now that we know what we’re dealing with. See Mercury’s retrograde for details on Venus’s conjunction to Pluto later this month.

December 10th - Auspicious election of the month (not pictured)

This occurs around 12:35PM local time. Adjust until the Ascendant is at about 27 degrees of Pisces, with Jupiter nearby at 29 degrees. This day chart takes advantage of Jupiter’s last days in Pisces for the next ~11 years. The Moon is in domicile in Cancer and resides in the 5th (whole sign) house--known as the Place of Good Fortune in Hellenistic astrology--and trines Jupiter. The Moon has long since left her conjunction to Mars and the Sun is separating from an opposition with Mars. Unfortunately Mars is angular in the 4th house of this chart, though he’s not directly on Imum Coeli, and he squares Jupiter, who’s in the superior position/overcoming him. Venus in the 11th house bodes well for friends and groups, and she’s close to the Midheaven as well.

Jupiter in a strong position says “Yes” to our endeavors, and this chart specifically is good for starting new classes and winning contests. Jupiter also rules the 10th house and the Sun in this chart, helping not just careers but any of our outwardly-visible pursuits.

December 14th - Sun square Neptune

December 20th - Jupiter reenters Aries He’ll revisit territory he already covered this year (early May to October). Think bold. Aries Jupiter facilitates us to take decisive action, although with Mars retrograde acting on impulse isn’t always the best choice. Overall this transit will give us energy and focus that we didn’t have while Mars was in Pisces (and near Neptune). Jupiter in Aries teaches us like a sports coach rather than the compassionate wisdom of Pisces. Look to the Aries house of your chart for where this emerges. Although we have an impulse to action, our shots may not be on target and require revision; the chain of rulership is: Jupiter in Aries ruled by a retrograde Mars, who in turn is ruled by a retrograde Mercury. We’ll be learning by trial and error. But that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t act--sometimes we have to make mistakes in order to get it right.

December 21st - Sun enters Capricorn, squares Jupiter

December 23rd - New Moon in Capricorn This occurs soon after Jupiter’s ingress into Aries and emphasizes the Capricorn transits. (A/N: No chart and not much analysis from our hosts this time? So here is from astro-seek:)

December 29th - Mercury retrograde This station happens right on top of Pluto and with Venus nearby. Mercury’s station is also very close to the degrees of Venus’s station last December and the Pluto/Saturn/Jupiter mega-conjunction in 2020. Thus Mercury’s retrograde will likely reintroduce discussions and re-litigate issues from those times.  We’ll likely discuss the secrets of those in power again, as well as scandals around women and sex, events like Ghislaine Maxwell’s trial during Venus’s rx last year. Venus-Pluto signifies intense power plays, manipulation and control in relationship, and the inverse of feeling completely isolated relationally. It’s going to be a heavy New Year’s Eve. Venus is often dragged to the underworld against her will, and we may go through difficult transformations. But remember, this intensification is temporary and ends soon after! Back to Mercury, you may want to delay your New Years’ resolutions until after he stations direct mid-January; Capricorn is a great place to write things in stone...once we get past all the revisions.

We’re also finally reaching the end of the Saturn-Uranus square that has been plaguing us since 2020--nearly three years! The fixed signs will get some relief next year as Saturn enters Pisces and the eclipses begin shifting to the Aries-Libra axis. But we’ll get more on that in the 2023 year ahead forecast...

Sasamu: Originally I wanted a punchy, dumb character, and for a while she was a body guard! Then I started to project a little lot and it became more of she was told she’s stupid so she believed it but now she’s working on that! As she grows into her own person and away from her parents she’ll find what makes her happy and I’m excited for her to learn how to like herself. (She also has ADD like me!)

Ron: He was supposed to be.. maybe not a bad guy but not a good guy either. Now he’s just tsundere! For him I try to channel negative emotions and such, although I’m such an emotional baby that he is too now. I’m sorry my son.Eventually I’d like him to learn how to be comfortable with other people, make friends, and not become a social butterfly, but at least be able to open up a little to friends he’s close to. I just wanna give him a noogie.

Harra: I wanted a character with amnesia and some angst. Then things became a bit more goofy when my husband, who plays Toki, threw some ideas in there. She still has amnesia, and of course there’s angst, but now her story’s a little softer than it was before. But she does have more of a personality, and I hope I can play her as the mischievous little gremlin that I imagine her as.

Well, any short race in MMOs are usually my favorite, and in FFXIV I have three lalafells. On one of these lalafells, I got in a hot tub with some FC mates, prompting one of them to threaten to cook me and called me brave for getting in. Then FC chat exploded and nominated me Most Dangerous Potato of 2017 (or whatever year it was, I can’t remember) so when I wanted a new URL for my FFXIV blog I went with it! It still fits I think, since Sasamu is one of the characters I’m most active on, and she’s pretty reckless and dangerous.

  He said she could receive power.  

She was not very sure.

He said she could protect herself with that power.  However, she needed to promise to him she would be loyal and collect energy.  For one whole day she could wield the power he would promise her, and if she came back she would need to collect energy for him if she kept those powers.

She felt very weak, but with those powers she felt very strong.  Like she could do anything she put her mind to.  She could protect herself from anyone else that wanted to use her.  However, she needed to do something for him.  And that was to collect energy.

Mikoto “Miko” Igarashi became War.

  He said she could achieve safety.

She was not very sure.

He said she could protect herself with the power she was given.  Again, she needed to promise to him she would remain loyal and collect energy.  She was given the power for one day like Miko promised.  She needed to return to him with the answer he hoped for, and she agreed to the requirements.

She felt very weak before she received the powers.  Her sister had protected her all these years, but she had no way of returning the favor.  With the powers, she could do anything she put her mind to, but she had to ignore her sister’s warnings.  She agreed to collect energy for the man she was warning her against.

Maiko “Mai” Enkai became Famine.

  He said she could achieve a family.

She was not very sure.

He said she could find her family members with her power.  However, she needed to promise she would remain loyal to him and collect energy.  She was given the power for one day like Mai and Miko were promised.  She needed to return to him to tell him the answer he hoped for and that she agreed to the terms.

She felt very weak before she received the powers.  She felt very unsafe with her immediate family, but safe around her friends.  Her brothers were no longer friendly, but hostile.  Her mother and father were hostile towards her as well.  She broke things off with them and moved in with her kind uncle’s family for a while.  However, she needed to beef up the amount of money to pay for rent and to fight for her emancipation from her immediate family.  With her powers she could do anything she put her mind to.  She agreed to the man’s terms.

Kyoumi Koyano became Death.

  He said she could keep her friends safe.

She was not very sure.

He said she could have the power to keep her friends safe from harm if she promised she would remain loyal to him and collect energy.  Her friends were Miko, Mai, and Kyoumi.  No one else was brave enough to be her friend.  She was given the power for one day like her friends were promised.  She needed to return to him to tell the answer he hoped for.  Needless to say, she agreed to the terms immediately.

She had felt weak before she received the powers.  She had tried warning each of her friends about the man they made promises towards.  So, she had to take matters into her own hands.  She needed to protect her precious friends while indebted to the man she warned them against.  With her powers, she thought she could do anything she put her mind to.  She agreed to the man’s terms.

In my darkest hours, I could not foresee That the tide could turn so fast to this degree Can’t believe my eyes, how can you be so blind? Is the heart of stone, no empathy inside? Time keeps on slipping away and we haven’t learned So in the end now what have we gained?

  “Mai-chan!” a voice whispered a young, light blue haired girl awake.  Her eyes turned to see a phantom version of herself looking worried.

“Mika-chan, you’re real?” Mai questioned the ghostly version of herself.

Mika nodded.  “It’s not about that right now, quick, get into the closet!”

“Oh, okay,” Mai said as she slipped out of bed with her shark plushie and quietly stepped into the closet and shut the door.  “What now, Mika-chan?”

Mika went in as well.  She turned to Mai and held her hand.  “We stay quiet.  No matter what we see.  Promise?” Mika asked.

“Right,” Mai says, getting a little scared.  She clasped onto Mika’s hand and her shark plushie.  She sat still as she could.  Her eyes widened when she heard a crashing, and a scream.  She recognized the scream.  It was her father’s cry when he got badly hurt.  Tears pricked her eyes.

She wanted to help.  She wanted to see what it was that was attacking her parents, but Mika shook her head and held her hand.

There was a beastly cry.  Mai hoped it was not perceiving her mother at that moment.  She hugged the plushie to herself, tears falling down her cheeks.  Daddy… Mommy… I hope you both are okay, she thought.  To her misfortune, she heard her mother’s cry and hurried down the hallway to her baby’s room.  Her mother threw something heavy at whatever it was attacking the home.  

She could see her mother one more time!  She was covered in a red substance, though.  She boarded up the room.  “Mai-chan, are you here?” she asked.

“Yes, Mommy,” Mai said, tearfully.  “Mika-chan’s with me too.  W-what’s happening?”

“You have to stay quiet no matter what you see or hear, okay?” her mother said instead.  “Your father and I love you very much, remember that,” Mai’s eyes widened.  She wanted to call her mother, but Mika covered her mouth and shook her head.

“I…love you too,” her voice was muffled.  She saw her mother smile, but immediately a claw crashed through the wall and grabbed her mother by the neck.

Mommy!  Mai wanted to shout at her, but Mika kept her quiet.

No matter what we see we stay quiet.  She could hear Mika’s voice in her mind.  Mai averted her eyes but it was too late for her mother.  Her mother’s energy was siphoned into the monster.  It threw her mother to the floor and turned its glance towards the closet.  Its golden eyes narrowed as it licked its lips.  Mika glanced over towards the monster.

Hold my hand.  Don’t let go.  Mika’s voice appeared in her mind again.  Mai looks into Mika’s identical blue eyes.

Mai held Mika’s hand.

Let out your resentment for the beast.  He killed our parents.  He must pay!  Mika says.  Repeat after me, Pisces Power, make up!

“Pisces Power, make up!” Mai said as they glowed a bright blue.  She continued holding her phantom sister’s hand.  The beast growled and attacked, but its arm disintegrated into dust.  It assumed another stance and rushed at the sisters where it disintegrated to dust.  The bright blue light dissipated and Mai fell to her knees.  Mika floated into the shark plushie.  

Mai was discovered to be safe.  She snuggled up to her shark plushie.  The house burned around the girl as soon as she assumed power.  Her parents' remains were never found.

An older Mai touched the headlines that her orphanage’s head caretaker was kind enough to cut out for her.  It has aged a great deal since then.  Mai ran a finger over her parent’s faces, but she could not remember them either after all these years.

“I’ll avenge you.  I’ll find out who sent that monster after us.  I’ll avenge you no matter what,” she whispered before the head caretaker announced that it was lights’ out.  A fourteen year old Mai laid down, snuggling her shark plushie.  “I swear on Mika-chan’s grave I will.”

March 2022 Important Dates

AKA my notes on The Astrology Podcast’s forecast. We’re going into this month off the energy of a Venus-Mars conjunction on March 16th. Mars is exalted in Capricorn and will conjoin Pluto on the 3rd, and close by Venus will hit Pluto this month as well. Venus is/has exited her shadow post-rx preiod on March 1st, marks. She's leaving her retrograde shadow a few days into March but remains in a rough place for most of the month. After she surpasses Mars, Saturn is right ahead of her (exact conjunction on the 28th at 21♒️, with Mars close by too). We enter the month with separation in relationships, building up to coldness and restraint, until she finally enters her exaltation Pisces early in April. Chris also reminds us that retrogrades in general often signify more a sequence of events than a singular one, a story which becomes clearer in retrospect. Austin says the outcome may be easier to predict, but the path it takes will still surprise us.

March 2nd: New Moon in Pisces Exact at 12♓, the Moon will immediately conjoin Jupiter, giving us some optimism. However the Venus-Mars-Pluto conjunction at 27♑ and the Mercury-Saturn conjunction at 18♒️ mean that 3 sets of planets are in close conjunction all at the same time. In general Jupiter-ruled signs are times of year anticipating birth (Sagittarius) and rebirth (Pisces) in the Christian liturgical calendar, giving us some expectations of divinity or preparing ourselves for the divine. Jupiter also brings us morality and ideas of order in the universe--we hope to be the agents of good. Jupiter prompts us to take a leap of faith, experience the totality of the cosmos, and especially in Pisces, the realm of the invisible. Also considering the loose conjunction to Neptune, we've got experiences that can't be explained but can't be denied.

The New Moon is also sextile Uranus the revolutionary. When Uranus  cooperates with Jupiter, we can get reform (Jupiter, after all, signifies judges and politicians). With the Mercury-Saturn conjunction in Aquarius, we've got structural challenges & pressures getting inspected & diagnosed. Rather than general worry about our Aquarius house, we can get the full account from our scribe Mercury and apply Saturn's discipline to rectify problems. While Jupiter encourages us, these two dry planets will prompt us to think coldly.

With the Mars-Venus-Pluto conjunction we see a return of themes from Venus's retrograde station on Pluto in December. Venus is finally passing the degree where she stationed and entering new territory, but now Mars is here. We may think of this as a Faustian bargian getting reevaluated, and with Mars in both his sign and exact degree of exaltation (27-28♑️) Venus isn't going to be able to help hold him back. Pluto takes the small things and makes them bigger, so Mars may bring us strife over such topics. The story may change when Venus & Mars enter Aquarius--Venus is strategically letting Mars blowout right now and can move in to negotiate during the aftermath. Overall Mars is in a position to make deep, cool power moves under the surface, with Venus standing by to reap in the spoils of war.

March 2nd: Chris’s Electional chart for the Month Around 10:45AM local time with Gemini Rising and Mercury right on the midheaven (in the 9th house). This is great for publishing and education, and with the Sun-Moon-Jupiter in the 10th house it's great for career as well. However 8th house matters aren't great with Mars in the 8th in a day chart. However, there are a lot of good elections this month considering Jupiter’s transit in Pisces.

March 4th: Jupiter-Sun cazimi/exact conjunction (not pictured) Jupiter may have ingressed several weeks ago,but now he's really coming into his own in the sign. Jupiter hasn't transited his own sign since late 2019 (Sagittarius), so perhaps there's a light at the end of the tunnel  after the winter of the last few years. Jupiter helps us believe things can be improved through our actions--not just hope things that will work out. Jupiter also switches from evening rising to morning rising after the cazimi, which is a more powerful position for the planet. Thus we have Jupiter in his strongest phase of his own sign. With Saturn & Aquarius activity involved, we can think about the themes of doubt and testing of faith--in ideologies or systems of government as much as belief systems.

March 6th: Mars & Venus enter Aquarius together Venus and Mars will conjoin in Aquarius next, which will have a radically different feeling than the Capricorn one (see New Moon for more). Mars is exalted in Capricorn, and Venus has triplicity rulership but not much strength overall. Once they enter Aquarius together the two planets will be copresent with Saturn, its ruler. Venus will overtake Mars on March 6th, and later in the month they'll both run into Saturn. You may say Saturn is here to discipline Mars & Venus, although with the square to Uranus mid-month, there'll be a bit of a food fight first. Mars has been sparking the Saturn-Uranus conjunction and will do so more loosely now, with Venus involved as well. We've had other conjunctions in early degrees of Aquarius line up with events of the pandemic and vaccines: Mars-Saturn at 0Aq corresponded to the March-April 2020 lockdowns in many countries and the Jupiter-Saturn conjunction at 0Aq in December 2020 coincided with vaccines first being available, so this Mars-Venus activity may activate another turning point at this sensitive degree. This is also the first time Mars and Saturn have been copresent in 2 years--since the early phases of lockdown in 2020. What will reset, and will we be able to tackle the same challenges with new eyes? Guest host Christopher Renstrom points out that last time we had a pileup in these signs was during the AIDS crisis, and although many expected society to be able to handle a similar situation better next time, arguably we didn't.

March 9th: Mercury enters Pisces Though Mercury is traditionally detriment, Jupiter is copresent to help him try and analyze the bigger picture.

March 18th: Full Moon in Virgo Venus squares Uranus the next day, Mars squares Uranus a few days later. This lunation also trines the Taurus degree of the lunar eclipse back in November. Tensions are coming to a head, and we may see the continuation of eclipse events if that affected your chart. The Sun in Pisces (with Jupiter & Neptune nearby) is dreaming big, but the opposing Moon in Virgo asks us about the details and implementation. There is a path for us to take towards realizing them, as Mercury and Jupiter, the Moon's and Sun's rulers, are also in conjunction.

March 19th: Venus squares Uranus (not pictured) ...who's in her sign of Taurus. Aside from volatility, Uranus can also mean surprise reversals, so we may find ourselves in a better position than we were in before when the rules of the game change abruptly. Venus is also riding the intensity and passion of the conjunction with Mars and Pluto, while anticipating Saturn's sobriety on the horizon at the end of the month. Uranus-Venus can bring us no-strings-attached relationships, new pleasures from doing something new and different, and newfound awareness of changes we knew needed to happen. We can get on-again off-again dynamics, where people go back to relationships they swear they'd never go back to, or break up just to make up right away. We may also see sudden changes in the partner's financial status depending on how this interacts with nativities.

March 20th: Sun enters Aries (Vernal Equinox) Spring begins in the Northern Hemisphere! The Sun is ruled by Mars, who will square Uranus two days later. Austin says that because it's the beginning of the astrological year & a time where many do mundane predictions for the year ahead, the Mars-Venus-Saturn dynamics in place during this ingress will be cemented for the upcoming year. However Christopher thinks that Venus might play her surprise trump card during this time.

March 22nd: Mars squares Uranus (not pictured) We'll see more quickening or speeding up of conflicts. This aspect also precedes the Mars-Uranus-North Node conjunction in Taurus coming up in August. Mars's expectations may be reversed or upset, or the situation may come out feeling like a tinderbox struck by lightning. We can also get figurative (or literal) game-changing superweapons (the first nuclear bombs were dropped under a Mars-Uranus conjunction). Mercury conjoins Neptune the next day (March 23rd), so the key challenge is to maintain clear communication.

March 27th: Mercury enters Aries

Going into April... Chris says overall March ends on a cliffhanger, leading into aspects that will culminate in early April (one of the more dynamic months this year). For example, we've been building up to a Jupiter-Neptune conjunction in Pisces (exact April 9th) and a Mars-Saturn conjunction in Aquarius early April. Chris says Mars-Saturn alignments have been lining up with the emergence of new variants, although this is also the first conjunction since the one that marked big lockdowns in much of the world in early 2020, and could signal a wrapping-up of sorts. In general Mars contacting a stronger Saturn can either have us going nowhere fast or relentlessly pursuing our goals. We can also get very heavy-handed law and order, with Saturn the general directing Mars the soldier. Meanwhile strong Neptune-Jupiter mysticism, paranoia and conspiracy theories resist rational Aquarian science. Christopher predicts fission between the spiritual and the scientific becoming more pronounced during this time: are you on the side of law & order or standing by your inexplicable experiences? You may be prompted to pick a side.

Overall issues, tensions and frustrations in the Aquarius houses of our charts may come to a head, so remember how things went there in early 2020 and look for mystical, creative, or higher-power reprieve in Pisces matters. Any planets in Cancer are also getting lots of trines from the Pisces stuff and off-aspect from the Aquarius, while Scorpio planets will get squares & trines at the same time from the two signs: each sign is feeling one or the other or both of these conjunctions. Narrow your focus to whatever needs to be done with Mars-Saturn, and open up your perspective for Neptune-Jupiter. It's a great time for any artists to take advantage of the blurring between conscious and unconscious minds--any seeds planted will be nurtured by "psychedelic super rain" (in Austin's words).
