  Act 011 Wake Up

  “Be reborn, Igarashi Mikoto.  You are no longer Bellum.”

  All she can hear is his laughter.  The man who gave her and her friends powers to overcome their weaknesses and their flaws.  While Miko wanted power as Bellum, to war against her father’s company, Izumi simply wanted the strength to follow after her friends.  Izumi as Victoria, or conquest, wanted to keep her friends safe from the man who called himself Diavolo.  Mai wanted to avenge her parents alongside her ghost sister, Mika.  She was able to do this as Fames, or Famine.  As for Kyoumi, she wanted to stand up to her immediate family and especially her brothers as Mors, or Death.

Each of them had thought highly of Diavolo until he pitted them up against one another.  He wanted one of his henchmen to lead with him in the destruction of Earth.  Their friendship deteriorated because of Diavolo.  Bellum was the only one who believed in Diavolo in the end.  The other three kept their distance from the man, despite the gifts he gave them to overcome each of their earthly struggles.

Igarashi Mikoto was still the fool who believed in another to give her what she wanted.  Freedom and power in separation from her CEO father.  She had been a fool, but no more.  The only person who had her back was herself and perhaps her three best friends.

  “It’s not time to show him your true strength yet.”

  It was weird to hear herself talk.  However, she listened to Sailor Sagittarius, her true self.  She hated that the Senshi was right, but she had to wait for a time when she could go up against Diavolo.  She wanted to shoot one more shot at Diavolo, but instead she had to wait.  For all he knew, she was dead.

She could vaguely hear the footsteps of a group headed her way.  She wanted to warn them about Diavolo, but she needed to purify herself first.  She needed to become one of them.  She needed to accept the Senshi within.

She floated down within her consciousness just as she heard Aya’s gasp.  “Mikoto-senpai!”  She heard Mai’s tearful cry for her friend from the back, but she was already floating.  She was headed into the darkness of herself.  Sailor Sagittarius called it her “Potential”.  It would show itself when she became Sailor Sagittarius.

Memories of herself as Bellum floated past, but now Miko wanted what was best for her.  And that was standing in her power.  The question was how?

    “You already were.”

  The voice sounded closer and Miko turned her head to see the confident version of herself.  She smiled in the purple and gold Sailor suit.  Miko made a move to question the Senshi, but the Senshi pointed to Miko’s head, and her finger glowed a purple.

Miko closed her eyes while inside her mindscape.  She thought of all the time she survived.  She survived her mother’s death.  Her father’s controlling tendencies, and the so-called friend of her family using her for his pleasure.  She survived through each and every one, but she missed her mother.  While she cried still from the friend of the family forcing himself on her.  While she will never feel her father’s acceptance of her, Miko survived and will keep surviving.

Miko shed tears and offered her inner Senshi her hand.  Sailor Sagittarius’ eyes widened and softened.  She smiled as she touched Miko’s hand.

A bright light overcame the both of them, and the Sagittarius symbol appeared once again on her forehead.  In place of the falling armor, lightning enveloped her body and she transformed into Sailor Sagittarius.  Lightning healed her wounds and bruises.  She floated upwards within her mindscape as Izumi called for her to “wake up”.  She was likely no longer Victoria as Miko was no longer Bellum��

She was freed.

  “Wake up, the true battle begins.”  

  She heard her inner Senshi call her.  She placed a hand over her heart where the voice was coming from now.  Violet eyes open, and she could see twenty-four eyes gazing back at her.  Some of them were tearing up, the rest were determined to revive her themselves.  Miko had to laugh, but she needed to figure out where Diavolo went so she could kick his ass.

“He isn’t here anymore,” Kyoumi answered with a shake of her head.  She was now dressed in an indigo and black Sailor uniform.  “It’s Sailor Capricorn now.”  She said with a small smile.

“Damn it,” Sailor Sagittarius said.  She turned to Capricorn and nodded.  “I’m Sailor Sagittarius now.”

“Good, now we can make up for the needless destruction we wrought,” Izumi said with a smile.  She was originally Victoria.  No she was, “It’s Sailor Aquarius.”  She wore a teal and indigo Sailor uniform.  She turned to Mai who was dressed in a blue and teal Sailor uniform.  “Sailor Pisces.  We have nearly everyone here.  Except…”

A voice spoke up softly, as a young woman of deep complexion pulled her red-violet cloak off.  She revealed a red-violet uniform, not unlike the other Sailor Ophiuchus’.  Except it was coupled with a venomous green.  “The true Sailor Ophiuchus and the true Sailor Phoenix.”  The young woman looked at each of the girls’ surprised expressions.  She gestured with two fingers for the Caduceus staff to return to her hand.  At first the red-violet and red-orange clad Sailor Ophiuchus refused, but she let go.

The true Sailor Ophiuchus caught the Caduceus staff in her hand.

“Been waiting for this moment for thousands of years for you all to wake up.”

  The clock was ticking.

She had to make sure she was the first one to tell her boss she had failed.

Her name was Igarashi Mikoto, or rather Bellum, which meant War.  Everything hurt, especially the shallow lacerations from where Sailor Leo cut her with her flames.  Sailor Libra had proven to be as sadistic as what her boss had warned her.  She was bleeding, but she was still alive.  Her beloved boss was at the end of the long corridor.  Victoria had fallen to Scorpio and Aries.  Mors, or Death, had fallen to Taurus and Virgo.  And Fames, she was not sure, but she might have fallen to Cancer and the Gemini sisters.

Maybe her boss would congratulate her on staying alive and well, Mikoto until the very end.  She rushed to the familiar double doors and opened them.  Upon opening them she was met with a deep colored laser that impaled itself into her chest.  Her eyes widened from the shock and the agonizing pain.  Blood trickled down the corner of her mouth as she stared at her boss.

“Boss… why?”  Bellum said as she fell to her knees.  A javelin was impaled in her chest.  “I’ve done everything for you, I might have failed… but I did everyth–”  She fell forward onto the marble floor.  Blood was pooling around her.  “ –ing… for you…”

Against the floor she could hear her boss and his armor.  He stopped just before her puddle of blood.  He lifted a boot and slammed it against her head, pushing her face into the blood.  He did this a few times, until her face was sore and bloody.

“You still don’t get it, my dear,” he mocked, as he leaned forward.  “We both used each other.  You used me for more power, and I used you knowing you would fail.”

Her eyes widened and teared up.

“All of your teammates turned against you in the end.  They were healed by Sailor Phoenix.  You, I had to commend, returned to me.  You could have been saved by Sailor Phoenix.  You could have been turned into one of them, but instead…”  He chuckled.  “You turned to me.  What a fool.”

Tears pricked her eyes and fell.  She couldn’t see well from the blurry and darkening vision.

“Damn…you…” Bellum uttered.

“What was that?  I couldn’t quite catch it,” he says, lifting a hand to his ear.

“DAMN… YOU…” Bellum cried despite the pain in her chest.  Tears falling down her bruising face.  She swung an armored arm at his leg to catch him, but she grunted from the pain of her impaled chest.  She lost feeling in her arm from the blood pooling.

He laughed as he stepped on her arm.  She felt a crunch, but she was getting too weak to scream.  More tears fell.

Damn him… she thought.  He’s right, I was a fool.

You might have chosen him at first, but think again! A voice echoed in her head, as she watched the man return to his throne to watch her pass.

Who are you? Bellum thought.

I’m who you could be.  My name is Sailor Sagittarius.  The voice echoed again in her head.  Her eyes widened as she remembered something from her fight with Sailor Leo and Sailor Libra.

She remembered the piercing pain from her forehead, and the gasps from both Senshi.  It held a faint purple light.

You mean…I’m Sailor Sagittarius?  I’m one of them?  Bellum thought, as she heard the voice echo a chuckle.  It was affirmative.

Do you trust me?  I’ll get you out of here.  The voice echoed, as a confident looking phantom Mikoto in a purple and gold Sailor suit knelt down beside Bellum.

I’m going to have to.  I don’t want to die, Bellum admitted, painfully.

Sailor Sagittarius placed her hand to Bellum’s forehead.  Bellum closed her eyes and let Sailor Sagittarius give her the strength to withstand the pain.  She let Sailor Sagittarius finish what Sailor Leo and Libra started.  She let the Senshi heal her.

Be reborn, Mikoto.  You are no longer Bellum…  The phantom said gently as she disappeared inside of Mikoto.  Mikoto’s suit disappeared and she lay still.  In the stillness, she could hear her former boss laugh.

  Sagittarius Power, make up!  Mikoto thought as a gentle purple light shone over Mikoto’s body.

  He said she could receive power.  

She was not very sure.

He said she could protect herself with that power.  However, she needed to promise to him she would be loyal and collect energy.  For one whole day she could wield the power he would promise her, and if she came back she would need to collect energy for him if she kept those powers.

She felt very weak, but with those powers she felt very strong.  Like she could do anything she put her mind to.  She could protect herself from anyone else that wanted to use her.  However, she needed to do something for him.  And that was to collect energy.

Mikoto “Miko” Igarashi became War.

  He said she could achieve safety.

She was not very sure.

He said she could protect herself with the power she was given.  Again, she needed to promise to him she would remain loyal and collect energy.  She was given the power for one day like Miko promised.  She needed to return to him with the answer he hoped for, and she agreed to the requirements.

She felt very weak before she received the powers.  Her sister had protected her all these years, but she had no way of returning the favor.  With the powers, she could do anything she put her mind to, but she had to ignore her sister’s warnings.  She agreed to collect energy for the man she was warning her against.

Maiko “Mai” Enkai became Famine.

  He said she could achieve a family.

She was not very sure.

He said she could find her family members with her power.  However, she needed to promise she would remain loyal to him and collect energy.  She was given the power for one day like Mai and Miko were promised.  She needed to return to him to tell him the answer he hoped for and that she agreed to the terms.

She felt very weak before she received the powers.  She felt very unsafe with her immediate family, but safe around her friends.  Her brothers were no longer friendly, but hostile.  Her mother and father were hostile towards her as well.  She broke things off with them and moved in with her kind uncle’s family for a while.  However, she needed to beef up the amount of money to pay for rent and to fight for her emancipation from her immediate family.  With her powers she could do anything she put her mind to.  She agreed to the man’s terms.

Kyoumi Koyano became Death.

  He said she could keep her friends safe.

She was not very sure.

He said she could have the power to keep her friends safe from harm if she promised she would remain loyal to him and collect energy.  Her friends were Miko, Mai, and Kyoumi.  No one else was brave enough to be her friend.  She was given the power for one day like her friends were promised.  She needed to return to him to tell the answer he hoped for.  Needless to say, she agreed to the terms immediately.

She had felt weak before she received the powers.  She had tried warning each of her friends about the man they made promises towards.  So, she had to take matters into her own hands.  She needed to protect her precious friends while indebted to the man she warned them against.  With her powers, she thought she could do anything she put her mind to.  She agreed to the man’s terms.

Izumi Hoshino became Conquest.

Dolefully desired Destiny of a lie

  It was dangerous to enter, but they did not have a choice.  There had been a house or a manor that appeared in front of them while running from the enemies.  Both Sailors Sagittarius and Leo were determined to get out of danger and try to regroup with the other Senshi.  The doors were unusually heavy but Sagittarius and Leo managed to close the double front doors to the manor and lock them.  They tried to catch their breath but Sagittarius immediately felt something was wrong.

“Tategami-san, we’re not safe,” Sagittarius said, while a droplet of sweat ran down her cheek and fell onto the floor mat.

“Even in this house?” Leo questioned.

Sagittarius nodded, trying to continue to catch her breath.  She stayed silent as a talisman materialized between her fingers.  She silently chanted as she focused on the potential threat.

Leo’s eyes widened when she saw the enemy behind Sagittarius.

“Behind you!” she called.

Sagittarius tilted a brow and threw a talisman after she finished her chant.  It surged with electrical energy rather than flame energy.  Leo jumped out of the way as the talisman was thrown in her direction, and it landed on the door.  The talisman completely burned to ash once it hit the door, but the door also burned to ash from the electrical energy Sagittarius inserted into the talisman.

“Great, now they can get in,” Sagittarius growled.  Leo lifted her head from her spot on the floor nearby.  Both were tense.

Their eyes were focused on the gaping hole in the house, their backs were turned further into the hallway.  They were so focused on the entrance into the home, that they did not spot clawed hands focusing an energy blast upon them both…
