A Song of Ascents
1 LORD, remember David and all his affliction,
2 How he swore to the LORD, And vowed to the Mighty One of Ya`akov:
3 "Surely I will not come into the structure of my house, Nor go up into my bed;
4 I will not give sleep to my eyes, Or slumber to my eyelids;
5 Until I find out a place for the LORD, A dwelling for the Mighty One of Ya`akov."
6 Behold, we heard of it in Efratah. We found it in the field of Ya`ar:
7 "We will go into his dwelling place. We will worship at his footstool.
8 Arise, LORD, into your resting place; You, and the ark of your strength.
9 Let your Kohen be clothed with righteousness. Let your holy ones shout for joy!"
10 For your servant David's sake, Don't turn away the face of your anointed one.
11 The LORD has sworn to David in truth. He will not turn from it: "I will set the fruit of your body on your throne.
12 If your children will keep my covenant, My testimony that I will teach them, Their children also will sit on your throne forevermore."
13 For the LORD has chosen Tziyon. He has desired it for his habitation.
14 "This is my resting place forever. Here I will live, for I have desired it.
15 I will abundantly bless her provision. I will satisfy her poor with bread.
16 Her Kohanim I will also clothe with salvation. Her holy ones will shout aloud for joy.
17 There I will make the horn of David to bud. I have ordained a lamp for my anointed.
18 I will clothe his enemies with shame, But on himself, his crown will be resplendent." — Psalm 132 | Hebrew Names Version (HNV) The Hebrew Names Version Bible is in the public domain Cross References: Genesis 35:19; Genesis 49:24; Exodus 15:17; Numbers 10:35; Joshua 3:14; Ruth 1:6; Ruth 4:11; 1 Chronicles 28:2; 2 Chronicles 6:41-42; 2 Chronicles 21:7; 1 Kings 8:13; 1 Kings 8:17; Job 8:22; Job 21:28; Psalm 2:2; Psalm 5:7; Psalm 21:3; Psalm 26:8; Psalm 48:1-2; Psalm 68:16; Psalm 71:23; Psalm 149:4; Proverbs 6:4; Proverbs 13:25; Isaiah 1:24; Amos 3:12; Matthew 1:1; Luke 1:32; Luke 1:55; Luke 1:69; Acts 2:30; Acts 7:46
Notes: The Psalm is divided into two sections: Verses 1-10 are a prayer for the Lord to remember David and his desire to build a dwelling place for the Lord. Verses 11-18 offer a poetic rendition of the promise or oath that the Lord swore to David (2 Samuel 7) that one of his sons would occupy his throne forevermore.
Key Passages in Psalm 132
1. David in his prayer commends unto God the reverent care he had for the ark 8. His prayer at the removing of the ark 11. With a repetition of God's promises

I was Bribed
I remember memorizing many scripture verses as a child. We were “bribed” by our Sunday School teachers to learn and quote them by heart. If we did, we’d receive prizes and rewards. Right or wrong, it worked for me, because I know those scriptures from memory, and I live by them still today. For any crisis, concern, or fear, one will pop to my mind, and I will be comforted. Joshua 1:8 says “This…

Firm in Faith
When the house of David was told, “Syria is in league with Ephriam,” the heart of Ahaz and the heart of his people shook as the trees of the forest shake before the wind.”Isaiah 7:2, ESV Ahaz, King of Judah, and his people stand on the brink of war. Their hands shake. Their food is heavy in their stomachs. They watch their children play with heavy hearts, wondering what tomorrow will bring. God…

The Faithfulness of God
Reliable, steadfast, dependable, and trustworthy are just a few of the words that come to mind when we think of faithfulness. And yet, for many of us, it is difficult to think of an individual who models faithfulness – faithfully. We all have our moments of faithfulness, but they can tend to be shortlived or interspersed with displays of unexpected and even unintended actions that portray us as…

On sorrowful morn..
Has sin been forlorn?..
The madness..
The teasing..
The bashing and bruising..
Staking and gambling..
For clothes He has worn..
O light, my hope..
Of bittersweet drops..
Of tears on your crops..
Son of God, they adorned..
Deceitful thorns..
Oppressing nails driven..
For salvation and love..
Sureness of death to inhibit..
O heart and friendship..
Your children are given..
Rise my lover..
Rise my savior..
Completed life forever
And ever long..
Dash away to our Maker..
He will never forsake us..
Rise my beauty..
My walk and light..
My song.

Remember David's Affliction
1 Lord, remember David, and all his afflictions:
2 How he sware unto the Lord, and vowed unto the mighty God of Jacob;
3 Surely I will not come into the tabernacle of my house, nor go up into my bed;
4 I will not give sleep to mine eyes, or slumber to mine eyelids,
5 Until I find out a place for the Lord, an habitation for the mighty God of Jacob.
6 Lo, we heard of it at Ephratah: we found it in the fields of the wood.
7 We will go into his tabernacles: we will worship at his footstool.
8 Arise, O Lord, into thy rest; thou, and the ark of thy strength.
9 Let thy priests be clothed with righteousness; and let thy saints shout for joy.
10 For thy servant David's sake turn not away the face of thine anointed.
11 The Lord hath sworn in truth unto David; he will not turn from it; Of the fruit of thy body will I set upon thy throne.
12 If thy children will keep my covenant and my testimony that I shall teach them, their children shall also sit upon thy throne for evermore.
13 For the Lord hath chosen Zion; he hath desired it for his habitation.
14 This is my rest for ever: here will I dwell; for I have desired it.
15 I will abundantly bless her provision: I will satisfy her poor with bread.
16 I will also clothe her priests with salvation: and her saints shall shout aloud for joy.
17 There will I make the horn of David to bud: I have ordained a lamp for mine anointed.

I am a Christian, I believe in Christ the son. I had a traumatic religious experience, but no matter how bad it's effecting my view point on religion I will never give up on God.
God is good, God is a way maker, God is a miracle worker, He really is light in the darkness. God is love, He is all things good.
(This is not a post of me trying to convert people to Christianity it's me sharing who I am, and something that inspired me in a time of darkness myself. Trying to connect better bc my relationship with God feels so distant from him right now.)
