Oh hey! Maybe if the player sides with Morris a good point to be made is how Mayor Lewis hasn't really done much for the town, like the bus being unable to transport people, or the golden Lewis statue?
Oh, that's a good suggestion! The Joja route would definately have to play into how everybody in the valley is kind of awful (I do love how much things suck in stardew). I had the farmer's distaste for Pierre in mind as a reason to shop at Joja instead but was stuck on the community center side of things... Lewis being an awful mayor is an interesting angle. We haven't thought about their personal relations with Mayor Lewis too much since submas toss the mayoral side of things to Drayden (and even then... Lewis doesn't want to do much. Which is fine for them since they don't want to get stuck in meetings together. They try to stay out of each other's way...) Lewis doesn't help out at all with the bus so he wouldn't do anything for the railroad.
As for the station, it's basically a second community center that Morris plans to take over. While the twins have their qualms about the other townspeople, Morris directly antagonized them from the beginning so their hatred for him takes precedence (even if he is probably the best at what he does in my opinion). A Joja route would take some reworking if the player were to side with Morris and we would have to consider the possibility of them taking the station from the twins too (red flag!).
Thinking about it... It's somewhat fair since the twins aren't exactly the best either... They have dependency issues and are dying from overwork because of the station. ;;>.> Taking the station from them might be for their own good (they did mention giving up in the intro events...). I don't think actually having the option to work with Morris and take the station for Joja would make much sense though since realistically, they would just head back to Nimbasa. Not sure how a friendship with them can happen like that but well... we'll figure it out eventually! Thank you for the suggestion!

If I may say some things.
I fucking love Duskmagius man not because it's a silly self-indulgent thing but because it's so . Strong.
Mismagius who's nearly died and continues his line of work because he doesn't want anyone else going through the same thing. He lost his entire world in a day and now he's living in another one where everything is the same except his two best friends are gone. He talks to flowers in his house first out of grief and then out of habit. He's so lost without those two because they were his life and now he's being told; "go and talk to the new guy."
The new guy is leagues different than him. But they're both lone explorers. Dusknoir is like a perfect, idealized version of Mismagius despite being just as flawed.
It's the fact that in opening up and sharing oneself's most sensitive information you're putting your trust in that person to not abuse it. That someone would jeopardize everything by mistake, but then need to be faced with the choice of either fix that mistake via drastic measures, or simply die. And fixing that mistake would leave you guilty for the rest of your life.
And leaving behind the confusion of wanting to keep trusting them, but hating them at the same time. The mistake is fixed but you broke someone who was already struggling to tape together their broken pieces.
It's that it's so easy to love someone so deeply without realizing it and then having all of it be flipped on its head and turned inside out.

WIP(?) Wednesday
ID: a genshin oc rough sketch. They are a fair skinned redhead with red eyes and a slender build. On the right, she is wearing a red robe over a white long sleeved shirt and black pants, with a light blue coat over her shoulders and darker teal shoes. They also have a pale blue scarf around their neck and an Anemo vision.
On the right, she is wearing the women's Sumeru Akademiya uniform with the addition of the previous scarf and Vision. Her hat has a black brim and brooch on it. End ID.
Question mark on the WIP part bcs it's not for any particular drawing. I just decided to fuck around with a kavelou daughter design today instead of uh (gestures at my mountain of WIPs)
Anyway. This is Asfaneh (she/they)! They're an Anemo/Catalyst and they're in Haravatat focusing on literature. She started as a joke concept of "kavelou daughter's favorite grown up is uncle haitham, much to her father's grief" but then the whole thing spiraled into a larger but still vague Sumeru next gen au in my head.

It's getting to the point where instead of being encouraged, I just get pissed when people tell me their friends' success stories with getting jobs as software devs without formal education.
Everyone is like "oh yeah my friend did it without a degree, you can too!" And I'm like ok how did they get past the auto rejectors that won't even look at you if you don't have a degree? How good were they before they were hired, and who supported them while they educated themselves? Or who agreed to take them under the wing and give them a chance even though they were green?
I know people are trying to be encouraging but it's starting to feel less like "I believe you can do it" and more like "if you haven't done it yet, what's wrong with you?" They'll be like "you don't need a degree to succeed, just a willingness to learn" and I'm like, I know that as well as anyone, but to the people responsible for making budget decisions, I'm too much of a risk. What do I have to show for myself to them?
Like at the end of the day it just feels like either these folks were super lucky or I'm super unlucky and either way, hearing their stories doesn't usually help or encourage me. I'm fighting an uphill battle here trying to convince folks who think we're in an economic downtown, that a US-based junior developer is a good investment. Yuck. If you don't have anything helpful to say then at this point just don't say anything 😭

I enjoy doing romance ask games and memes and stuff but I've come to realize there is a problem where I really only post about one (1) romance that doesn't involve other people's OCs lmao... My other OC/canon stuff is in Schrodinger's void (Teliah and Ismene situations), I'm just not that invested in (Xinyue situation... sorry girl ilu I swear), or is categorically Not The Romantic Kind Of Ship and someone involved 100% should be shot for everyone's sake, making it difficult to fit into that kind of thing (Carmen and Kasperia situations). Whoops

Genuinely the one thing I like about Tumblr and "parading around its relics" is that blogs deactivate, die off, become abandoned/hacked, or slapped with the mature label with such frequency if you are *not* actively using them (and sometimes even then), and then the only way content survives is through the reblogs.
I've been cleaning out my likes and looking for a bunch of fanart I knew I had saved from a blog. Couldn't find it. Turns out the blog is dead now, hacked and blanked out. That artwork is now limited to other people's reblogs.
Parade the relics around. Get into the habit of archiving. We live in an era where everything is remembered and forgotten simultaneously and nothing is guaranteed.

this isn't the pervasive problem people pretend it is to justify transmisogyny (especially because most of the time the person doing this is a cis man), but it is weird when you're in a "progressive" space and someone says something unironically effemiphobic because they think GNC men either don't actually exist or deserve to be insulted for doing Gender Bad which makes us inherently bad. Or both? Somehow?

so I first saw this meme 4 years ago when my then gf asked me to explain the star trek part of it
and I went on a rant because the leftist vs liberal thing was starting to be more prominent online and driving me up the wall
anyway that was 4 years ago. wonder why I've been thinking about that again lately

Listening to the post-s1 Talking Dads, and I swear Brennan Lee Mulligan needs to come into contact with Anthony Burch. They need to both be waiting on a crosswalk and Anthony can sigh wistfully about how he never asks players what they imagine as the long-term arcs for characters because he 'is actively playing against them'. I whole-heartedly think Brennan "I believe in railroading players to allow characters to grow in the directions I as DM and the player see fit while keeping the game interesting" Lee Mulligan could advise on the kayfabe.
It is just so obvious that they are operating off a false understanding/self-imposed rule about how D&D is supposed to work that doesn't actually help storytelling and DM-player satisfaction. Like, idk guys! I feel like you can talk about intentions without ruining anything. It's not like Dimension 20 is suffering under Brennan's approach to storytelling. He has a whole podcast about it.

Second time in about 48 hours that I have gone into the search mines to bring out a specific pride flag for my blog only to be met with either long or thoughtless posts about how x flag is the most inferior or y flag is the most superior while shitting on other flag designs. Like, I am all for making as many flags as you want — the more the merrier no monopolies here. I would just like for people to keep in mind:
Which communities (including geographical and cultural!!!) specific flags come from and why they were created.
You do not need to be represented by every single stripe for the flag to be applicable to you.
If a flag is featuring a specific identity there's probably a reason for that, I don't care if it's ugly.
Please cite sources and inspiration! Flags represent communities and usually come from community involvement and influence.
Seriously unless a flag was made purposefully to demean or alienate others it's probably fine. You don't have to use it or prefer it and you can be annoyed with it but it doesn't mean it's the end of the world.

My evolution and character development as a gamer really shows when today I can just go "I've already beaten the flagship monsters in the 3* village quests in previous playthroughs, I don't need to do that again for validation" 😔👏 younger Gui would not let that shit fly and would spend days trying if necessary
