How did Ridley Scott and the entire team that worked on writing, editing and producing gladiator 2 sit there and go “ah, yeah, boys! This is the one” whatever drugs they were on, I want to be on them too so that I can live in de lu lu land too

#you have an outstanding line up of actors #some of the biggest faces in Hollywood rn #and you give them a script that fic writers would have turned into a masterpiece #professional writers were like yeah! this is perfect 12/10 script #and you have an insane budget for a film this big #and instead focus on senseless violence #and fucking CGI sharks and monkeys #and then pretend like you’re the Roman version of George R.R Martin and kill almost every single character off #with little actual plot or character development #where the emotion was just practically non existent #so when you killed off said characters it felt more like oh! he’s dead now ig #instead of OH MY GOD HE’S DEAD NOW?? Real Science II: The Cookening

Our players:

Meet the Experiment group, aka the Hot Lunch Bunch

And the Control group, who are also technically receiving a hot lunch but it's not quite as hot I guess.

I've taken initial measurements for all participants and logged baseline weight and length, and the majority of these kiddos have already started eating their meals!

An early pitfall: my hypothesis that cooked prey would be more readily accepted seems to have been correct. A few of the Control group haven't taken meals yet while all of the Experiment group are taking meals with gusto.

If the Control kiddos don't get with the program they're going to skew my data. >:(

i just ran into some videos that made me have really big feelings so i want y'all to imagine something with me for a moment.

imagine you've been making music with someone. for quite a while, actually. long enough that you've seen him Go Through Some Shit and come out the other side of it. those deeply personal lyrics he writes? i bet you were there for at least some of what he wrote those songs about.

and when he sings those songs in front of a crowd, he cries.

your other bandmates could go comfort him, because they're out there walking around the stage with him. you respect why they often don't - either they're playing their own instruments, or working the crowd, or giving him the space to have those feelings, which is important.

(you know their hearts break for him too. all of you know it's healthier for him to cry it out than it is to bottle it up. you let him, even though it hurts.)

but they, at least, can comfort him. you? you can't go comfort him when he cries. you don't have that option. you are stuck behind your drum kit, watching your close friend and colleague cry his heart out. you were there for the reason he's crying, and you can't comfort him. your loyal fan base considers you the greatest drummer of your time, you have to keep playing. and you do. but you have to watch him cry.
