How did Ridley Scott and the entire team that worked on writing, editing and producing gladiator 2 sit there and go “ah, yeah, boys! This is the one” whatever drugs they were on, I want to be on them too so that I can live in de lu lu land too

New Mutants #2 Review:
*Spoilers*
The issue starts with Sunspot summarizing what happened in the last issue.
At the court, they are found guilty by the judge (also the space lawyer is a huge letdown 😔)...but it's okay because Cannonball is their guard.
Roberto is down because Sam's totally chill living in space with his wife Smasher and being a dad...
Roberto later gets punched by said wife (damn!) and tells him to snap out of it.
Gladiator sends out an order to Smasher...
Fun hijinks of the New Mutants playing cards and Sam and Roberto catching up occur. (Jono's lack of an accent is still horribly tragic!)
Smasher manages to get them pardoned for their crimes...but they've been conscripted into imperial service (which is actually worse than being guilty of a crime...if you know the f***** history of the Shi'ar 😬).
Xandra, the love child of Lilandra and Xavier (PROVING that Xavier is just as terrible a real father as he is a foster one ☝️) is supposed to take the throne.
And Deathbird has been chosen to be her advisor.
 Opinions:
While this issue *IS* much better than the first issue- I'm still not in love with this book.
the art is still really nice!
I am glad the Xandra plot point was picked up from 'Mr. and Mrs. X'...
I will say- even though I feel the 'X-Men in Space' has been overplayed and has no point to this event...I feel like Xandra at least gives it SOME POINT, since this DOES effect the truce the X-Men have with the Shi'ar...
This WAS written be Hickman...so I guess I can't blame Brisson for this book yet...
The wacky hijinks moments still feel pointless, forced, and overdone...
The characters at times still feel more like caricatures of these characters than the actual New Mutants...
While I will say this book is picking up/improving...I'm still kind of 'meh' about it... like, it's not AS BAD as 'Excalibur's' been...but it's not a must read for me either, which is SAD because I'm a New Mutants and Gen X fan...
 Theories:
Bad S*** is obviously going down with Gladiator...
What the Starjammers were trying to steal is connected to Xandra...
*I will be doing the reviews for the other books- as I said, I’ll probably just sparse them out over this week...
