Unpopular Opinion: I'm a romantic and love seeing my favourite characters meet that special someone, but 90% of the time in fanfiction... not so much because romance winds up being objectified. I would rather not get into why because I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings, but it stands that I don't like it. Another thing I don't like is that it becomes a competition over who's couple is better, sexier and more popular to the point of toxicity. That's not fun.

What I would like to see more in fandoms is healthy romance where the main objective is the for the characters to actually match, be happy together and develop their feelings naturally. And I doubt I'm the only fan who feels this way.

Love stories are absolutely wonderful, but love itself is not for show.

idek if this is a hot take or wtv but people that never spent years trying to be musicians or being an artist actually know what it takes and what things are like bc i see so many people who have absolutely never done anything artistically talk about the in and outs of the music industry or singing or song making and say everything wrong and it’s wild to me how misinformation is spread sometimes because people cannot do a simple google search 😭

Never thought I'd see the day where I'd admit I'm starting to feel burnt out on am*urshipping solely bcs no one has acknowledged that toxic XY haters attacked XY fans first and made them this way in the end (and never will). modern tobiizu au where izuna and tobirama are rival e-sport players. they take the competition the most seriously out of the entire league. they are a pr nightmare and definition of toxic competition because they constantly go on twitter and shit on the other. they deliberately fuel fanwars. people call them the physical embodiment of league of legends despite the fact they don't even play league of legends (leaving what game they play ambiguous).

tobirama invents new ways of playing the game and abuses bugs in competions until abusing bugs gets banned because it reached a point where he was discovering exploits faster than the devs could patch them. izuna shits on tobirama for a full twitch stream saying how tobirama needed those bugs to even match him, and he says he hates how he ended up adding a new rule to the league because of how he played. izuna doesn't even play the same as tobirama, its just the principle of the fact he got a whole new rule made.

izuna is really intuitive, he's fast at figuring out new strats and mechanics and enjoys mimicing other ppl's playstyles as a form of psychological warfare. his reaction speed is very fast; "oh, you're ambushing me? lol get rektd." he goes through mouses like his monster energy cans because he just keeps breaking them (they can't handle the stress of his intense playstyle). if he had a mouse that was actually well made, he probably would not have this problem. however, those mouses just don't feel the same as the super specific, dirt cheap $15 mouse he got down at konoha-mart (or so he insists). he has a closet filled with boxes of this mouse for when he inevitably breaks it again.

one of tobiizu's pr nightmares happened like this:

at one point izuna figured out rpf fanfiction existed so he encouraged his fans to write really bad fanfiction of tobirama. why? he wanted to send it to tobirama so he could witness tobirama snap/explode/have a conniption. psychological warfare. this wasn't too bad, actually.

until tobirama publicly tweeted a link to a 100k word slowburn fanfiction he wrote detailing a forbidden love affair between uchiha izuna, professional esport player, and uchiha madara, the retired esport player who is his team's manager and his BROTHER. izuna livestreamed himself screaming for 30 minutes straight. he cried off camera. pr for both teams scrambled as they had to clarify, no this work is not real (because some people are dumb). madara has to announce his engagement for ppl to stop thinking he and his brother r like that. he's not engaged, but the internet scrambling to figure out who his (nonexistent) fiance is makes tobirama's fanfiction fall out of focus so it works out. originally the pr team wanted izuna to come out as straight but he flat out refused because "if everyone thinks i'm straight i'm doomed to not ever have a boyfriend" (he is bi and very dramatic.) he also gets back at tobirama for this eventually with the Hacked Reddit Incident (in which he hacked tobirama's reddit acct and posted various (nonexistent) issues on various subreddits, including AITA. everyone figured out very quickly it wasn't tobirama but that didn't matter to tobi because not only was his pride wounded, those posts will forever be associated with him [because things can still circulate around the internet even after the original post is deleted])

so yeah. i think you can imagine how the fandom space is if tobiizu r pulling stunts like that off extremely frequently. (chaos. its pure chaos.) somebody is probably crying in a corner, somewhere.

at one point somebody likens tobiizu's dynamic to a boy pulling on his crush's pigtails at a playground, except for them it goes both ways and is far more extreme. this spirals into the fandoms splitting into four factions: "omg they're so in love they're adorable like little kittens", "are y'all fucking CRAZY", "im just chilling here can we pls go back to normal", and unaware. tobiizu find out very quickly, and for once don't know what to do. the pr teams are just glad its nothing negative, for once.

(tobiizu are screaming in e/o's dms like this is YOUR fault. no its YOUR fault. they dont realize it but they're acting exactly like how the person who sparked it all said.)

Lol as someone who actually works in the industry: you guys are very, very naive if you believe a tumblr blog would tell you secrets about the behind the scenes of Bridgerton for a bubble of specific fans, and even less that someone who actually have access to executives would be around telling so many incorrect stuff that can be proven wrong with some clicks. And would tell you about the actors that way, while working for Netflix. It's hilarious because production is segmented, there are different crews as well, and it simply wouldn't have production/executive inside information if it worked close enough to the actors day by day to know them, and they wouldn't work with all of them to know them personally, repeatedly in the way it says, as the teams are the same for a long time and they all have made their opinions on actors very clear. It's so stupid that it made the mistake of telling you all it doesn't work with crew. They really don't know how a production of a show works and it's funny to see anyone believing it. Then again, only Kanthony and Benophy fans do.

Not only that, contradicting not simply Netflix's news of profitability and success of Season 3, but in fact, actual market news and data releases, Investments prospects, and investors reports, plus licensing, that anyone with any inside information would know it's done publicly and show the actual success and profit delivered by Season 3. To even try to say it lost money, Lol. The data is there, if you worked in a exec. position, even management position, you wouldn't say something so ignorant.

Critically, official certified critics, and audience numbers averaged above Season 2 and on par with Season 1, and you can also check the aggregate of that on RT, IMDB, sites that reunited and average the score. Audience is measured not only by Netflix, but Luminate and Nielsen. Data that is ALSO PUBLIC. And that showed the successful amount of views, specially recovering audience that Season 2 had lost. It was also superior to QC. Netflix also ranks #6 ( above Season 2, again) as their most viewed seasons. Another public information.

It becomes evident you're dealing with a fan of Anthony and Kate and Sophie and Benedict when it spills target hate for particular actors, with nonsense that is so painfully clear from a fandom member, a mere angry fan trying with a insane agenda.

That's the problem when someone has an agenda against some actors and some fictional characters, a TV show, specifically a season. They throw away logic and believe anyone.

There is no insider, you have actual market information and investors/ experts that are not even Netflix connected telling you the success of season 3. Anyone who works for the industry would know that. Lol

There is no inside information of actors from that person. All cast and crew, and connected workers, and adjacents from media, PR and more, have their words and testaments to the cast and crew openly at their socials, dismantling their obsessive nonsense, contradicting them. I contradict them, lol, as i've actually met some of them and know their work ethics and behavior.

And most importantly, the so-called ''insider'' is not even from or in the UK…yes, i know exactly what i am talking about. But for now, i wont publish. For now.

Just be aware of bullshit and propaganda with fanwar nonsense. You're dealing with someone who is simply a discontent Kanthony & Benophy fan, and a Simone fan and hater of other actors in the show ( VERY OBVIOUS THE TARGETED HATE), connected ( lol very much connected) to a blog who has adopted the name of "Anti" since the start, who hates Polin. Some people just want to create a narrative, and while they say that Benedict is the most popular and wanted character for the GA, try to justify an eventual less number say it would be S3 fault, when S3 actually revamped the numbers from S2 and had incredible profitability ( again, public data).

But be aware that we know with 100% certainty, people like that do not work for Netflix. They don't even have a clue what a netflix contract is and how it works.

Also, a warning: People should have their faces and real names on when they say things, responsibility is a must, don't you all agree? Sometimes people think they are protected under the anonymity of a tumblr url to lie their hearts out and become desperate later when they have to own personally, with their actual faces and real names, and social reputation, the stupidity of their words.

And in a more fundamental sense, grow up. Tomorrow, someone else can simply create a blog telling the opposite about your favorites, their work, their seasons, it's a game nobody wins when fans act that desperate and stupid, lying and manipulating.

Or worse: perhaps someone with actual information can start posting, and you wouldn't like what they have to say…reflect on that.

Can we talk about how some of Ten solo stans are one of the most annoying stans in Ncity?

I don’t know why, but they somehow convinced themselves that Ten should be in 127 instead of Wayv and act like Wayv members and Wayv as a group are his biggest enemies and that it’s only 127 members that love him.

Xiaojun hugs Ten? Unacceptable. Wayv reacts to Ten solo? Oh how dare they. Kun and Yangyang exist? Don’t even tell them that.

Why do they act like this? I don’t know. To be honest, I don’t get this whole idea of picturing your idol hating the group they are in and the group hating them? Why you want your idols to be friendless? And sad? I seen that kind of behavior in various solo stans (not just in NCT). And i do not get it.

I get of course wanting the better opportunities for your fav, but if Ten solos think Ten would get those under 127, then i can confidently say that they never stanned 127 and are here just for some ships (let me just say: Yuta, Johnny, Haechan, Mark, Jungwoo) . All of Wayv members potential is wasted but the problem is not a group or it’s members but the label! Xiaojun by now should have had his solo album, same thing with Kun. Do not get me started on treatment Yangyang and Hendery gets. 0 to no opportunities. But hey, let’s act like the members are the problem and let’s make it into fanwars type of sh*t.

I’ve been reading your blog for the better part of the year and it’s helped me rethink many things. This year was weird for me and I’ve been reflecting, I finally got courage to write this confession and I only feel comfortable sending it here. It’s okay if you post it. I think there are other people like me.

My Confession:

I’m an Orbit-Blink shooter who used to fight with an Army shooter daily until she died during the earthquakes in Turkey this year. I didn’t realize how much of my life and fan experience was tied to her until she died BPP. The way I got into shooting was through my Blink friend who introduced me to Loona when they debuted. At first I thought I was defending Loona and then defending Blackpink, but at some point shooting on its own for any reason became addicting. I would jump in on a ratio, throw insults and post gore and graphic images to people’s DMs for any small reason.

There was one Army shooter I hated because she was always there with screenshots or videos to drag Blackpink. Whenever there was a fanwar I knew I would see her there. And times when she wasn’t in the fight, I would use another account pretending to be an Army to tell her what was happening so I could rile her up to join the fight. I didn’t know it at the time but I loved fighting with her. She made me feel alive. The way she was passionate about BTS made me want to get some of that passion directed at me in any form.

Now, after months of reflecting, that’s what I realized. Because when the earthquake happened, I didn’t know she was dead. I kept checking her account for days, sending DMs from my fake Army profile, wondering why she was not replying. I even created a new scandal for Taehyung in our shooter group but she didn’t tweet. Then 2 weeks later her cousin tweeted from her account to say she died in the earthquake. BPP, it was like my whole life stopped. I became extremely depressed and dealt with extreme self loathing. I couldn’t look at any fandom fight without thinking about all the things I did to her. I hated myself and wanted to die. I went through that Armys profile and saw how her love for BTS was genuine. After months of therapy now I understand more why I acted like that, but it’s something I’ll forever be ashamed about.

In the depths of my depression I deleted Twitter, TikTok, and Instagram. After some weeks of missing what’s happening, I got Tumblr and found your blog talking about fandom behavior. In so many ways you’ve saved my life BPP. The way I was shooting was more for other shooters than Loona or Blackpink or even myself. I realize now there’s a whole subculture of kpop shooters and I think what they have is an addiction. I notice the same things with how solo stans behave. They think they’re doing it for the idols but it’s for them and other stans they’re fighting. It creates destruction. Life is short. Why spend it on something destructive?

I’ve changed everything about how I behave online. Through therapy and reading your blog, I realize people use fandom to express themselves, and if that expression is mostly negative, there’s deeper problems with that person that needs solving. Now I curate my space and avoid shooters and fanwars completely. I now focus on what I enjoy which is good lore and good music (I still enjoy a good fight but I now satisfy this need by getting engaged in Munk Debates in my city). Loona’s lore was the reason I was interested in them, so after weeks of stalking that dead Army’s profile, I learned that BTS has lore too. I fell down the BTS rabbit hole and officially became an Army on Jimin’s birthday (after reading your blog I’m now Yoonminkook biased hehe)

I’m a very new Army but an ‘old’ kpop fan and reformed shooter. I’ve committed to live a life that’s critical and compassionate. Because of how I’ve become Army, some things I’m seeing in how fans of diff fandoms act has a different meaning to me. I still struggle with shame and sometimes when I see fanwars or see solos trending hashtags and things, I remember me from what feels like long ago. I remember that Army shooter who feels like someone I owe my life to. I remember how so much is going on in the world and we could do with more kindness but people use fandom to be awful assholes. I was one such person, attimes I still have to bite my tongue. But what I do now is log off, go do something physical and positive that makes me tired, or scroll through your blog archives.

There might be people like me trying to get away from the shooter mindset and struggling because it’s hard. It’s like an addiction. I want those people to know it’s doable. Recognizing the problem is the hardest part for real so if they are at that point, it gets easier from there.

Thank you for having this blog BPP. I hope you stay here in 2024 as well.

so i believe with enlistment, they don’t have their phones at all during bootcamp. i’m not exactly sure what position jungkook is/will be nor do i know much about the military or enlistment sjfjdjdj i just wanted to clarify that first.

so yeah she’s basically dealing with this alone :( ofc she has the girls but she really just wants jungkook😭 military does get breaks so he will eventually find out or someone else tells him? imo i think the route i will go is he doesn’t know for the entire training period 😭 cause she refuses to make him feel helpless so even with their barely 2 min long convos (bc he also talks to his family) at the end of the day, she begs his family and friends to not tell him until he’s done with training.

blinks … you can imagine. nari has a lot of sasaeng fans, very obsessive and possessive. of course there are the fans that support her in anything and honestly even with blinks who bash jk or bts in fanwars, they’re just confused and lost. in the articles, you see the hate from both sides in the comments but there’s also positive ones mainly commenting on their status.

it’s all lying on the fact, for both fandoms, that she is a blackpink member and he’s a bts member. that’s mainly the problem obviously 😖 besides their obsessive gf/bf stans

idk i just know that it’s not a happy time and there’s more fans that don’t like it than like it. if you want a comparison … think baekyeon. now if narikook will end the same as them 🤷‍♀️ we’ll see

how do you think the dynamics of bts will work when they return as a group?

it's certain that hybe will use the "the 7 are important" speech and in reality, they will continue to give the spotlight and privileges only to jk, it wouldn't surprise me if he was the only one who had the freedom to do his solo work while the group is active again.

pd and scooter, they're despicable people but I don't think they'd shoot themselves in the foot by trying to end bts right away, imagine how much backlash that would give and how much money they'd lose, or maybe they're dumb and do that??? 🤔

I hope pd and scooter keep inflating jk gigantic ego and he decides to leave this group soon, because wasn't that the intention of so much investment in his solo career?

the way the armys fandom has become pathetic, it's quite possible that they will continue to manipulate this fandom, making jk out to be some poor bastard who didn't know what he was doing.

everyone knows that no matter what jk does, the armys fandom will applaud and turn a blind eye, just look at what hybe does in relation to bts solo career and what their real intention is lol everyone knows what they're up to and yet armys pretend nothing is happening.

now, mind you, they're all in the military right now. hopefully all the immaturity that jk and th have will be at least improved after this. hopefully they'll be more able to understand how things work outside of the celebrity field (although th's social media posts don't point to that outcome)

jk has always been pushed as the golden member, ever since debut. that's why he was given center even though other members were better suited for it. also why he was given so many lines as well. i don't know when their greed involving jk started, but it seems to be from early in their careers.

the thing i'm most interested in is how the fanbases have changed. everyone's grown their own solo fanbases, and army have lowkey been in shambles lately. i think more internal fanwars will be arising over stupid stuff like line distribution and other stuff. there will be a lot different fandom wise. we've grown as a solo fandom but bts has (supposedly) lost a lot of army from hiatus. that and with jk's push and jimin's popularity in the us, they've gained a bunch of fans that will be tuning in for bts now.

Everytime I open twitter/X all I see in my timeline is pjms fighting with any and every fandom possible.

Sometimes it's justified, sometimes it's not. Though pjms can be a bit too much sometimes..

But most of the time their fight is justified. Kpop stans are behind jimin's ass everytime something happens with their faves.

Sometimes it's blinks, the other day there was a tweet about Gdragon's arrest and someone dragged jimin when he literally had no role their. Then we have jimin's own fandom subtly shading him. His own company downplaying his achievements. Then literally all bts members solos who for some reason only have problem with jimin. Then today we have seventeen fans unnecessarily dragging jimin into their mess when their faves f*cked up.

Like give my boy a break. Goddamn.

And it's funny because jimin is literally the most unproblematic kpop idol. Even some of bts members have done some things that's actually problematic. But there is literally no dirt on jimin.

Still they only chose to attack jimin when there's any fanwar no matter what the fandom is. Just because they can't get anything on him they try to make up lies to drag him.

I think we shouldn't start any fanwars unnecessarily but if someone else does talks shit about jimin then we should go all out to protect jimin. I would say even go as vile as they can. Because if you'll see the shit they say about jimin you're literally gonna puke.

If they started it pjms should give the same energy back. Why are we expected to act good when they're being disgusting towards jimin. Why they always try to police us only?

It's so infuriating honestly. These kpopies need to leave jimin alone and stop dragging him in shit which has nothing to do with him.

I'll never understand why some Sakura fans as well anti/pro-SS crowd keeps dragging Itachi into their fanwars. The arguments usually are the same: Itachi traumatized Sasuke (so he doesn't love him/isn't a good brother) and Itachi killed innocent people (so he's a bad guy). That what Itachi did to Sasuke, neither Sauske would do to Sakura and nor Sakura would ever dream of doing to Sauske.

He'll agree with you. But the truth is... It's much easier to love and empathize with Itachi than it is to love Sakura. I'm not anti Sakura. I like her as an independent character and don't get the hate either, but won't be dragging Itachi into it to counter this hatred for her.

Itachi gets love not because we think he's a good/innocent boy who did nothing wrong, but because how interesting he is. How his character moves the story forward. How, without him, most of the story would not be as interesting and poignant as it is. In more than 700 episodes of the anime and the manga, he might be a minor character, but he impacts the story more than most characters do.

If you're applying your irl logic in the Naruto world and judging the characters and their motives based on them, then that's not my problem. But let's also not act like Itachi is all what your opinion restricted to his wrong doings allows you to see. He never goes on to acting like a saint. He never goes on to acting like he's the best brother ever. He knew his flaws, his mistakes, as well his love. He knew even if he wanted Sasuke's forgiveness, Sasuke didn't have to forgive him. He knew.

He never made his life, choices, or, you know, anything at all, about himself. A child soldier, a traumatized kid, forced into making decisions adults ought to be handling... Right, you're very wise as an audience and objective in thinking he should not have messed up. :)

Having said that, I'm strictly anti-SS. SS was never about two individuals, it was always about Sakura's feelings. She wanted to accompany Sauske when he deserted the village? It wasn't because of him, it was because she would be alone. I lost any interest in her as Sasuke's potential life partner the moment she decided killing him was the only way to save him from "darkness."

The bottom line is - an interesting character in fiction is always more than welcome than a bland one. A character influencing the story will always get more exposure whether you like it or not. Itachi, in all his glory, is a flawed and interesting and an empathetic character. Your hatred for him won't change anything how we feel about him.
