Definitely not Wednesday anymore but I shall share a few things! Work has been super crazy lately so I’ve been kinda mia (hoping to make a comeback in a few weeks!) Hopefully I have more time to finish these up! Not including the art trade im working on bc I want it to be a surprise hehehe.

uh hihi im a new anon who was recently scrolling through the seb stan tag and why are we calling Annabelle AnnaBitch? Not as in like a, why the fuck would you do that, way, but as in genuinely asking? Is there controversy with her, do people not like her? Did she do something? Like please I need to get up to date on the drama /////

Hi, sweetheart!

I will go firstly on the reasons why she is problematic on her own and then we can go over her schemes and baits, if it's ok.

She is a well known cultural appropriator. She's posted different pictures over the years appropriating different cultures. The most famous one is the one that is still up on her Instagram, where she also used the g-slur (a slur used against Roma people). She had never addressed any of this.

She is also an armchair activist. We see her post a lot about different issues, which in appearence is great, but actually everything is for show, only. You may have noticed that she loves to post about Palestine, but she works still with The A List, a PR agency that is very Zionist (and known and proud to be Zionist). We also don't see her doing anything except posting (like donating, going to protests etc.)

She is friends with some questionable (to say the least) people, like Jared Leto (her actual best friend, according to her, who has been accused by multiple women of sexual assault).

On the same note, she's alleged to be rude to staff, crew, and people she works with. There is video evidence of her on set of Mutiny (I think that's the movie, the one with Chris Pratt) being rude to her PA.

As well, people have noticed her hypocrisy in relation to her pets. She owns 2 dogs, that have been rescued from the shelter. She talks often about how they were rescues, using them for her image, but she leaves them at home for long periods of time (up to months) while she travels.

There have been SA allegations, but personally I don't know a lot about them. The original poster got scared and backed away.

This is merely what I know about. I know there are blogs here and a few Instagram pages (like stagelightanon and sebstanlol) that have documented everything with proof, also, that you can check out. It's possible for more things to have happened, but I can't remember them, I think. (If anyone knows better, feel free to add and/or correct this Anon.)

When it comes to her relationship to Sebastian, people have caught on very early on her weird behavior. She tends to bait him whenever possible (like posting random pictures of one of his shoes in her house) and/or steal attention away (for example Oscar's this year, when she made a whole post about HER Oscar's experience, followed by a story of a Cillian Murphy picture from the moment he was announcing the winner, that she called "amazing moment", just to remind people she used to be in a tv show with CM a long time ago).

There is much more to talk about here, but the highlight would be her behavior and constant baiting, and how she is borderline obsessed with making people believe he is with her 24/7, even when it's not the case.

To be fair, I think Jade finds his position quite advantageous: if everyone always pays attention to Floyd, he gets to not only act as if he isn’t the same when it comes to being chaotic and dangerous, but also have this element of surprise!

He also doesn’t flirt as obviously and as often as Floyd does, so we can blame Jade’s sneaky ways to collect his bottoms lol

As one of my favourite nico writers (seriously, your characterisation is so on point), what is the sico dynamic like, if it isn't too much trouble? I'm trying to write for them but i just can't seem to pin it down. It probably doesn't help that it's an au where nico doesn't get into f1. I've only got vibes and it's just something about the seb/nico narrative foils and a proxy silver war with seb and nico vs lewis. But seb and lewis are still friends. Maybe. They don't really know. There's a nico shaped hole somewhere.

Hi Anon! Under the cut because I want to give you a good, detailed answer:

You're completely right that Seb and Nico often function as narrative foils, but in a Seb/Nico world, you can't exactly use them that way because they need to stand alone enough that you can actually pair them together. So far, the sico that I've written has always been in the context of sebcedes (heist au, toxic threesome, problematic polyamory), but a good place to start might be describing how I formed the sico dynamics in each of these fics:

In heist au: Seb is immediately (physically) attracted to Nico, despite thinking that he and Nico are on opposite sides. In addition to being attractive, Nico is also annoying, entitled, insincere and enigmatic. Although he doesn't know ii, Seb wants to figure Nico out, crack through the layers of artifice and get to the sincere inside of him. In this universe, Nico is intelligent, obsessive and a little bit mean. He and Seb have common ground here. On the other hand, Nico is more affectionate and more able to access and express his emotions than Seb, although Nico more often weaponizes his emotions, while Seb will hurt people without intending to.

In toxic threesome fic: Girl!seb thinks that she can compete with Nico for Lewis's affection, when this is not the case because Lewis is gay. This is more of a Seb experiences brocedes from the inside fic, but there are sico moments nonetheless. Seb is often cracking jokes and Nico is shutting those jokes down--he is no fun from Seb's point of view and takes himself too seriously. Seb thinks he's a poor match for Lewis--he speaks to her in German to lock Lewis out of the dynamic and weaponizes her against Lewis*. Really, he'd rather have sex with Lewis alone, but he could probably be friends with Seb in this universe if he were able to get over Lewis's closetedness.

*A key seb/nico distinction for me is that Nico's intentions are deliberate where Seb's are abstract. Nico knows what he wants and what he is doing in order to get it, and Seb's wants are more felt than known and he follows intuitive, instinctual paths to get there. Nico is less able to feel what is right, so he plans specific goal-oriented courses of action, whereas Seb will just feel out the actions that seem to be leading him towards what he wants. So when Seb balks at the idea that Nico would be hurting Lewis, it's because he can't imagine ever intending to hurt someone--but he might very well do it without specifically meaning to.

In problematic polyamory ficlets: Seb and Nico are directly competing for Lewis's attention as his partners, and hate each other because of the characteristics that they each lack that the other can provide for Lewis. Nico is all about leisure and luxury and sensual feeling where Seb is about experience and earnest emotion and commitment. They both love Lewis enough to understand that he wouldn't pick horrible partners, and that there must be something redeeming about the other that they just don't understand.

I think the takeaway here is that sico often involves a kind of competition between the two of them and the shadow of Lewis. In a context where Nico never got into racing, I imagine the competition intensifies--Seb can be something for Lewis that Nico can't. Nico enjoys a closeness to Lewis that Seb never will as his competitor. Maybe they fall together while trying to get Lewis's attention. That's just my sebcedes angle though! In a pure sico situation, they might find common ground in terms of intelligence, obsession and passion. They would love talking to each other because both are very linguistically/conversationally intelligent, and both would enjoy the other's affection once they learned to be sincere about it.

Finally, if you haven't read Everybody Wants to Rule the World by sico scholar @kritischetheologie then you're missing a key sico source text.

Anon listed a lot of examples of stuff Seb did and said that could include him in the "awful" person category. It's being dramatic to say that if someone has done something tone deaf or hangs out with questionable people, they deserved to be cancelled.....which is all stuff Seb has done too. I love Seb and I want him to be successful, but Adrien's performance was really great and if he wins, which it looks like he will, it will be deserved in my opinion. By the way, SNL was calling themselves out by making a montage of all of their questionable skits in the past. If you are going to have this all or nothing mentality in regard to celebrities, then there would be no one left in Hollywood including Seb.

The problem in this fandom (and in every fandom) is that 90% of people who hate on the gf do it because… she us the gf. Racism and mistakes are used as excuses (sadly). That is the real problem and why i made this blog / you know hating a problematic gf because she’s a gf is pretty logical. 1. Flesh out the superhero AU

When things get really hectic at work like now I tend to spew out short snippets which is what you've been seeing on the blog, I add lil scenes to the Superhero AU and the Wolf AU and it's just wonderful distraction for me, but the brain is a little too scrambled at the moment to weave all the scenes together.

I'm enjoying the Superhero AU so much that I actually want to sit down and write out a whole proper chaptered story. All the backstory with supes and their companies, Seb's tragic past with Michael, Charles coming into the picture, the training, Seb meeting Mick and dropping his shield, Charles' and Mick's duel with a lot of crying and a lot of yelling, Mick's apology with more crying, SebMickChal as a superhero trio kicking ass and taking names, LOTS OF SEX BETWEEN THE THREE, a final fight in which Seb loses his powers protecting Mick and Charles, Seb retiring to be a farmer.

2. Hear me out, hear me out. I want to write an Attack on Titan AU for F1. I'm not kidding. Seb is Eren. Lewis is Mikasa. Nico is Armin. Am I speaking into the void here?

3. Hear me out, hear me out. I want to write a Star Wars AU for F1. I'm not kidding. Seb is Obi-Wan. Charles is Anakin.

4. I have like, 5 Pacific Rim AUs planned. I can't write them at the moment because my brain is constantly distracted by porn.

5. I've chatficced this with court my beloved @cooldownrooms, and I also want to flesh out the Wolf AU. I want to write an entire story where Seb and Charles lead as co-alphas one human one wolf and they straddle the gap between the village and the forest and slowly gain the respect of all and I want Charles to tell the wolves about his liege lord and a scene in which Seb's reading by the fire with like a dozen wolves curled up around him. Charles has his head in Seb's lap.

6. Sebastidan. Like roadtrip Sebastidan. Summer break comfort Sebastidan. Hot but very sweet sex Sebastidan.

7. More stories regarding fucked up contracts!

In It Takes an Ocean Not to Break, I play around with the idea that contracts exist for prize or punishment for winning and losing. I wanna do a sebchal version in which Ferrari has a contract in place which allows for gangbangs whenever a driver performs poorly. Charles finds out by accident, and questions why it's never happened to him before. Turns out that Seb has been taking it in place of Charles all this time. Charles bursts in during one of the sessions and rips them all off of Seb.

8. Speaking of fucked up contracts!

I want to write an ABO AU for It Take an Ocean Not to Break, in which Seb loses in 2018 goes into heat doesn't know who to turn to (not his own team, he can't even face them) so he goes to Lewis and Mercedes. Lewis and Toto will go to Ferrari tomorrow and rip everyone's heads off for not taking care of Seb but for now they will lavish Seb with all the attention and affection he requires--you get the idea.

9. Smick pleasure toy AU

There's a whole world I've planned in which Mick purchases Seb as a pleasure toy. He goes to an auction and they have all these people strung up on display and Mick zeroes in on Seb and the trader goes oh you don't want this one, he's problematic, and Mick goes oh on the contrary. This one's mine. I don't want to spoil this too much because I really, really want to write it.

10. Fucking machine

Well this is kinda self explanatory and @mediumbeans is already a genius for giving us a glimpse into what Seb would be like with Klaus I love it I love it so much. I do want to get into the mechanics like how is it built? Does it have tentacles? Oh god. How does it fuck Seb? Does it gain sentience? Does it refuse to stop when Seb tells it to stop?

Octopus anon once again thank you for your question you've allowed me to be brave if I haven't scared you away with this please always feel free to ask me for more details I actually have a million other ideas they never stop. Time's mostly the issue with all of these I enjoy writing so much but unfortunately! Life calls.

My favorite thing to happen today has been the hater’s exposure of their performative activism. When they’re attacking Seb for Pam and Tommy, and in the same breath congratulating Evan Peters for his nom as Jeffrey Dahmer, like come on

And don’t get me wrong Evan deserves his flowers because problematic show aside, he did one hell of a job, and who I believe is Sebastian’s biggest competitor in that category.

But what I’m saying is if we’re gonna attack people for being “morally wrong” let’s not stop at one person and attack everyone the same way, you know?

Anyways let this be another reminder of how awards show do not give a fuck if a 14 year old on Twitter says that Sebastian doesn’t have any range. 😂

Over the past two days, I've gotten a few asks about how Sebastian has been the target of yet more bullying and hate on Twitter lately, and I really don't want to devote too much time, energy or attention to it since that would be playing right into the haters' cards and I'm not about that, but I'll just address the situation generally in this one post to at least have acknowledged it, since I know it's bothering some of you a lot and that makes me sad.

This is a long one, so I'll put most of it under the cut, but if you have sent me a message about any negativity regarding Sebastian or Chris, either recently or in the past, I would really appreciate it if you could take the time to read all of it <3

To start with this kind of double standard behaviour you're describing, anon: I agree completely and it's dumb as shit. Like I've said many times before: while I personally believe it's possible to appreciate an actor's performance separately from the question of whether or not it's a good idea for them to play that role or for that movie or show to be made in the first place, it's understandable and fine if you're not a fan of Pam & Tommy, or of the fact that Sebastian took that part. But a) that's no reason to bully anyone (wow so hypocritical), and b) if that's truly how you feel, then you should be feeling the same way about any actor starring as a less than morally upright character in a biopic (because otherwise, again, wow hypocritical). If you just pick and choose, and decide who can and who can't play those types of roles based on your personal opinion of the actor, then I just can't take you seriously, goodbye.

And then, more generally: I genuinely do not understand these haters. I don't understand why they choose to spend their time focusing on the negative, and on someone they (for some reason) don't like. That is not healthy behaviour. I'll also never understand why the fuck they've chosen to hate Sebastian, of all people (or Chris, for that matter, but I'll focus on Sebastian here). This man who is literally adored by everyone he's ever worked with, and by everyone he knows personally. This guy who started out with nothing and got to where he is now through sheer hard work and determination and without ever trampling anyone on his way up. This man who is humble and unassuming, always kind and supportive of his friends, of people in the industry who are just starting out, of women in the industry, and who consistently gives to charity and puts his money where his mouth is. This man who's had his fair share of awful things happen to him in his life, and who still gets up and keeps going and never compromises on his morals one bit.

I genuinely can't think of any other explanation why anyone would hate Sebastian than either jealousy, or being a bona fide dickhead, or just being so spineless and brainless as to blindly follow the behaviour of someone who is either of the above. I'm not saying you always have to agree with all of his choices, I'm not saying you have to stan him, I'm not even saying you have to like him. But to hate him? And to spend all your time trying to find ways to attack and belittle and bully him? That genuinely is deeply unhealthy behaviour, and most of these people should get themselves some professional help, stat.

I just absolutely can't take them seriously, and like I said above, I really don't want to dwell on their nonsense any more than is absolutely necessary. And I think that's what we all should do, both for our own peace of mind, as well as to deny these haters the attention they're so desperately craving. I do understand that you guys just want more Sebastian content and that's why you spend time in his fandom on Twitter, but on the other hand: this is what always happens on Twitter. Time and time again. It's old hat by now.

It's why I'm not on Twitter, and it's why Sebastian is not on Twitter, so I just can't help but wonder (and I don't mean this in a harsh way, I promise - just as an honest question): if you're a Sebastian fan who is sensitive to negativity regarding your fave, and if you're someone who gets as upset by the kind of nasty behaviour the various anons have described to me in the asks currently sitting in my inbox get, why are you still spending your time on there? Please don't do that to yourself. Ask yourself honestly if it's worth it, and if the answer is no, please just leave the Twitter Standom and/or take measures to properly curate your fandom experience. And if you choose not to do any of that, that's fine and I can't make you do it, but in that case, I would like to ask that you stop coming to me whenever more stuff like this goes down on Twitter, because like I've explained before: there is a reason I'm not on there, and that reason is that I don't want to see, hear or even vaguely know about that kind of nastiness.

And that's not because I don't care about people attacking Sebastian, and it's not because I think ignoring the haters will magically solve the issue. It's just because knowing about all this negativity will only serve to make me feel unhappy and helpless, since there isn't anything I can do about it that will solve the problem. If I knew there was a way I could change the hater's minds, for instance by patiently and kindly explaining to them why their behaviour is wrong, then believe me, I would. If there was a way I could make all the nastiness stop and make Twitter (and fandom as a whole) a place where people only had productive discussions to further worthwhile causes and were kind to each other and appreciated Sebastian (and Chris, and everyone else) for the good person he is, then believe me, I would. But sadly, that's just not how it works. That's just not realistic, so I'd rather not make myself constantly miserable by continuously trying and failing.

I'd rather find more productive ways to make the world a better place, and when it comes to fandom, the only way I know I can make an actual difference is by making a concentrated effort to focus on the positive on my own blog, and (at the risk of sounding like a hippie) by spreading love and joy to counteract the hate. Keep the balance from tipping over into the negative. So that's what I would like to continue doing as much as possible, and that's what I believe all of us should try to do. the omegas are on suppressants during the season, but have to go off of them on the breaks so they won't go into a heat crisis

the ideal state for an Alpha to race is slightly pre-rut, so their suppressants aren't that strong. This does, however, lead to lots of problems when they get into fights or start approaching omegas.

getting myself cancelled? why not. i'm on mobile (and it's too late to make coherent sentences) but i'll try to put it all under the cut

in the order anon sent them:

Sebchal - one of the less bad ones but honestly? so much about it was idolised and cliche-ed out of proportions over the years. Seb was going through a lot at the time, as much everyone knew. As a 4 times champion coming to the most prestigious team, the pressure must have been enormous and he was failing the mission he set for himself. I think all of us dumb red horse team fans wanted him to win a championship with said team but it didn't look good and turned basically impossible the day Charles stepped a foot in the team. He probably had a bit of an boy crush on Seb who was still the mighty 4 times wdc and number 1 driver in his dream team. At least for some time it turned pretty sour especially on the track and ultimately every piece of content from that time (minus the infamous helmet message) falls a bit one sided and always has. Not to speak about how fan space is made up by fans first and content second and a lot of fans of sebchal just try to push the "he's like father to him" narrative that I can't help to find mildly disrespectful. I get and appreciate the fandom jokes about grid dads and grid kids and don't get me wrong, sometimes they are funny, but in this particular case it always felt like some people take it too far.

Chewie - one of the best ones honestly. I think they are friendly towards each other, Lewis hypes him like he always does with young drivers and Charles has a lot of admiration for him (and let's be real probably some jealousy too, because Lewis is the greatest driver there has ever been). So far so good but when people in the fandom get involved in shipping them I can easily imagine it as mildly problematic in the classical produced content (like fics fanart and stuff) - with age gap or stereotypes or whatever.

Piarles - I love that Charles has a bestie in the paddock that he grew up with and that he knows better than any other driver and hangs out with outside of racing too. But that's it. It was a lot sweeter back in the day and came out as more genuine. Maybe I just never paid that much attention or their different career moves changed them (and that's valid and definitely not something I should judge) but... if you follow the subtle patterns lately one side comes out as exploiting the opportunities that come out with hanging out of the other more. If you asked me years ago this might be my first go to though so to some extend I understand why people like it. What I don't understand are those who see besties hanging out together and start yelling about them being on a date or being in love or whatever. They got used to it no doubt, because one they're properly famous (which naturally comes with lots of people being weird about you) and two they're both fairly present on social media so I bet they saw things. That's on people who ship them and not on any of them personally tho. As someone who was on the receiving end of those "ur dating haha ur so in love" talks with multiple of my friends in the past, I can tell u that there's just a few things that made me so uncomfortable.

Chalex - this might honestly take the crown for the best current Charles ship? Alex knows him for a long time as well and also knows what it is like to be his team mate during the worst times (puberty lol). I can openly admit I wasn't always very fond of Alex because.... you guessed it, Red Bull. He just came out as quite arrongant (and I guess because for one you need to always be confident about yourself in this sport to continue doing it on such a high level and the moment you stop, you're out, and two of course your self esteem increases if you get a seat in a top team). I properly enjoyed him during the twitch sessions though, he always seemed (and seems currently) as the sweet happy-go-lucky person who knows how to live life fully. He's also a little tease and paired with Charles it just works somehow. Again, I just don't really enjoy when people take it too far and start speculating if it's real and what not. Alex is happily in a relationship and they're good friends who often joke with each other during driver parades.

Charge - this might be short, because there's not much to say. It's cute and I love the vibes. They give off the energy of George calling him snickerdoodle or gigglebunny or fuzzybear while Charles grows more confused and concerned each time and asks what if means to which George just thinks "goodness gracious...." and tries to patiently explain the british gibberish. Sweet, fun and niche but I don't think there's much to work with nowadays so twitch days were definitely more fruitful time for Charge shippers.

In short: I don't have any big problem with Chewie, Chalex or Charge (and if so, they're minor) but Sebchal and Piarles are not as ideal as people make them seem. But then again I don't consider myself a shipper at all, so as long as people use correct tags and don't flood charles' main tag with shipping posts I don't mind them.
