danielricciardo Apparently I crashed date night. Sorry for being the third wheel guys.
ynverstappen Third wheel? What are you talking about?
maxverstappen1 danielricciardo You were flirting with my wife just as much as I was. ynverstappen He was flirting with me only when he wasn't flirting with you. danielricciardo Have you seem Max?? Why wouldn’t I flirt with him? ynverstappen True, he's something that needs to be cherished. danielricciardo I love that we're fighting over Max. How you feel about that mate? maxverstappen1 Pretty good! Please do continue... or you know save it for when you are next at the house.

fan76 Has anyone ever met Y/N at a race?
fan45 I met her last year at Silverstone. She was super nice, even offered to take my picture with Lando who was walking with her and Nico.
fan63 I feel like Nico is just the sweetest kid.
fan56 Can confirm. Aside from Y/N, Nico just wanted to spend the day with his dad and his little brother when I saw them earlier today.
fan44 Wondering why Y/N hasn't posted any pictures of Nikita given that he was at Spa?
fan60 I don't think it's strange for Y/N not to post any pictures of Nikita given that he's only 9 months old. Y/N wasn't even sitting in the garage like she normally does on race day. It's probably too loud for his little ears.

Writers and prompters are showing up for potential fanfics in the fandoms, so let me drop my own contribution to the collection by working out a Mega Timeline for the Merciless, Evil Devil from Hell.
Spoilers for the following shows:
The Merciless
Beyond Evil
The Devil Judge
Strangers from Hell
It occurred to me that even though Gaon was probably the oldest pretty boy during the events of his own show, when you compared it to other characters, he might be the baby. So I went ahead and compared it and turns out, by 2026, a character like Juwon that was 27 during his own show in 2020, will be 33 during the events of The Devil Judge. Making Gaon the youngest. Which also made Yohan the youngest DILF, along with Moonju. I don't know if it was only me who was wondering about this, so I went ahead and made a post.
I'm going to start by lining up the movies according to their dates of occurrence, as well as the ages of the characters when the events occur. If their ages aren't mentioned, I will use the actor's real age.
*edited with help from @braceletofteeth
♧♧♧
The Merciless (2017)
Jaeho 50
Hyunsoo 28
Strangers from Hell (2019)
Moonjo 37
Jongwoo 27
Beyond Evil (2020)
Dongsik 41
Juwon 27
The Devil Judge (2026)
Yohan 44
Gaon 29
From this, we can extrapolate how old they were, at what time and what was happening.
I hope this helps someone work out their timeline.

Chiron, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto in 2021
Chiron, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto all remain in their current signs in 2021. I’m going to try to write just a little about each one.
Chiron’s 2021 Timeline
Friday, January 1, 2021 - Chiron at 5:04 Aries
Thursday, July 15 - Chiron stations retrograde, 12:55 Aries
Sunday, December 19 - Chiron stations direct, 8:26 Aries
Saturday, January 1, 2022 - Chiron at 8:30 Aries
Chiron has been in Aries since 2019, and it will remain in the sign until 2027. Its trek through this sign is asking us to deal with “woundedness” (Chiron) over our right to be alive (Aries). If transiting Chiron makes an aspect to one of your natal placements, that placement has some issues with basic identity and the right to exist. The house Chiron is transiting through, shows areas where we can do the healing work.
-----------------------------
Uranus’ 2021 Timeline
Friday, January 1, 2021 - Uranus retrograde at 6:48 Taurus
Thursday, January 14 - Uranus stations direct, 6:43 Taurus
Thursday, August 19 - Uranus stations retrograde, 14:47 Taurus
Saturday, January 1, 2022 - 10:57 Taurus
Uranus has been in Taurus (the sign of its fall) also since 2019, and remains in the sign of the Bull until 2026. As with the last passage of Uranus through this sign (1934-1942), we are seeing tremendous “Earth upsets” - back then, with the Dust Bowl in the US; now, with the tragedies of climate change. Getting more in tune with Mother Nature is a must.
------------------------------
Neptune’s 2021 Timeline
Friday, January 1, 2021 - Neptune at 18:28 Pisces
Friday, June 25 - Neptune stations retrograde, 23:12 Pisces
Wednesday, December 1 - Neptune stations direct, 20:24 Pisces
Saturday, January 1, 2022 - Neptune at 20:40 Pisces
Neptune has been in Pisces since 2012, and remains there until 2026. One of the new things we’ve seen, during this transit, is the rise of “crowdfunding” to pay for such Neptunian areas as artistic projects or, in the US (sadly), medical expenses. Plus, “binge-watching,” anyone? That absolutely wasn’t a thing until Neptune entered Pisces! And what about legal pot? Here in the US, at least, there has also been an immense attitude of distrust/mistrust toward “the media” - newspapers, TV networks, etc. - combined with blind faith toward whatever religious authority we’ve chosen. I hate to sound like a cliche, but regular meditation and/or prayer are really what Neptune through Pisces requires.
(I would also like to add that it’s been square my Sun all fucking year, and will continue to square my Sun through 2021. Just the most nutso jumble of dreams, starring a cast of thousands from my past, every single night. Natally, my Neptune Rx/Scorpio/12th is sesquare my Sun/Gemini/8th; it’s squaring my Sun from my natal 4th House. All the damned “water” Houses. Hmph.)
------------------------
Pluto’s 2021 Timeline
Friday, January 1, 2021 - 24:11 Capricorn
Tuesday, April 27 - Pluto stations retrograde, 26:48 Capricorn
Sunday, August 28, Pluto Rx/Capricorn square Eris Rx/Aries, 24:40
Wednesday, October 6 - Pluto stations direct, 24:18 Capricorn
Sunday, October 9, Pluto Rx/Capricorn square Eris Rx/Aries, 24:19
Saturday, January 1, 2022 - 25:56 Capricorn
Pluto was discovered in 1930. Its orbit is approximately 248 years; therefore no one alive has ever experienced a Pluto/Capricorn transit. We are the pioneers! Pluto entered Capricorn back in 2008. Since then, there have been two Capricorn-related adjectives which are particularly descriptive of this transit: systemic and institutional. Were they in your everyday vocabulary back before 2008? Probably not!
What Pluto has been doing, slowly and inexorably, is show us the systemic and institutional (Capricorn) putrescence (Pluto) in our society and culture. Especially during all those 2020 conjunctions - if you’ve been paying attention - it’s very clear that our systems were created to support a (relative) few wealthy elite.
The original intentions for the US were indeed to build a country to support a few straight, white, wealthy, Protestant males. We’ve made some “progress” in getting the “moneyed elite” to let in people who aren’t straight, white, Protestant, or male - but I’m beginning to believe that was the wrong battle. We should have NO wealthy elite sponging off the rest of us. I think/hope the final two Pluto-Eris squares (there were three in 2020) may see most people waking up to that notion. And perhaps it finally will be addressed when the US has its Pluto return (late 2022 - 2024), and when it goes into Aquarius in 2023/4.

When Should Jana Marry If She’s Going For a Quiver of 1, 2, 3, or 4 ?
Note—Y’all might’ve noticed that, for a few recent Asks, I put them in Posts like this one. I’m going to try to do this from now on (with Anon Asks, at least), as it makes it a lot easier to find things in the archives due to the large heading, etc. Hope y’all find this helpful!
Back to the Ask... Let’s say that, like Michelle, Jana remains fertile to Age 43.2. If that’s the case, Jana’s Final Fertile Day—i.e., the last day she could possibly give birth—is April 10, 2033. Also, for simplicity’s sake, let’s assume that Jana is exactly Duggar–average (based on current data), in terms of—
Courtship Length (164 Days)
Engagement Length (92 Days)
Marriage to Firstborn (327 Days), and
Procreative Pace (1 Child Every 549 Days).
Astute readers will immediately realize that this isn’t super realistic... With age, fertility tends to decrease; as a result, Jana’s child spacing may be longer than is typical—especially if she marries, say, in her late–thirties or forties. Also, it’s far from clear that a courtship at Age 30, 35, or 40 would play out just like one at Age 20. My gut instinct is that a later–in–life courtship would probably go a lot quicker—but honestly, who knows. Anyway... Suspend your disbelief for a minute, because I’m going to use Duggar averages in this Post. (Honestly, we don’t have a choice, really... We don’t have data about later–in–life courting or procreation, because it hasn’t happened yet for Second–Gen. Duggars!)
Analysis after the jump...
TL;DR—When (and at what age) must Jana start courting, if she wants ...
1 Child? March 2030–September 2031 (Age 40.1—41.6)
2 Children? September 2028–February 2030 (Age 38.6—40.1)
3 Children? March 2027–August 2028 (Age 37.1—38.6)
4 Children? September 2025–March 2027 (Age 35.6—37.1)
If Jana is Going For A Quiver of 4
If Jana’s hoping for 4 Children, and she’s 100% Duggar–typical, she absolutely must begin courting by March 2, 2027—i.e., when she’s 37.13 Years old. Here is the projected timeline—
If Jana is Duggar–Average ...
Courting March 2, 2027
Engaged August 13, 2027 (+164 Days)
Married November 13, 2027 (+92 Days)
Child #1 October 5, 2028 (+327 Days)
Child #2 April 7, 2030 (+549 Days)
Child #3 October 8, 2031 (+549 Days)
Child #4 April 9, 2033 (+549 Days)
Final Fertile Day April 10, 2033 (+1 Day)
As you can see, that’s cutting it a bit close. (Jana will only has 1 Fertile Day left, after Child #4′s birth!) Let’s say she wants to give herself as much wiggle room as possible, without risking a fifth pregnancy—i.e., have Child #4 with 548 Days of Fertility Left (1 Less Than The Duggar–Average 549–Day Spacing). To do so, she’d have to start courting by September 1, 2025, when she’s 35.64 Years old. Here is how that timeline would play out—
If Jana is Duggar–Average, But Wants Wiggle Room ...
Courting September 1, 2025
Engaged February 12, 2026 (+164 Days)
Married May 15, 2026 (+92 Days)
Child #1 April 7, 2027 (+327 Days)
Child #2 October 7, 2028 (+549 Days)
Child #3 April 9, 2030 (+549 Days)
Child #4 October 10, 2031 (+549 Days)
Final Fertile Day April 10, 2033 (+548 Days)
Finally, let’s assume Jana wants to allow herself a little extra time along the way, since life is pretty fucking unpredictable. Let’s say that wants enough time for 4 Children, even if each step along the way takes her the Duggar–Average Time + 1 Standard Deviation (SD). Here’s how that timeline works out—
If Jana is Duggar–Average + 1 SD ...
Courting November 26, 2024
Engaged August 18, 2025 (+265 Days)
Married November 29, 2025 (+103 Days)
Child #1 December 15, 2026 (+381 Days)
Child #2 January 21, 2029 (+768 Days)
Child #3 February 28, 2031 (+768 Days)
Child #4 April 6, 2033 (+768 Days)
Final Fertile Day April 10, 2033 (+4 Days)
Only downside to this plan? If Jana’s wrong, and she’s closer to Average than Average + 1 SD, she’ll probably end up with 5 Children, not 4.
Now, let’s just run that same analysis for quivers of 3, 2, and 1 Child(ren)...
If Jana is Going For A Quiver of 3
If Jana’s hoping for 3 Children, she must start courting by March 2, 2027, when she’s 38.63 Years old. Here’s the potential timelines—
If Jana is Duggar–Average ...
Courting August 29, 2028
Engaged February 9, 2029 (+164 Days)
Married May 12, 2029 (+92 Days)
Child #1 April 4, 2030 (+327 Days)
Child #2 October 5, 2031 (+549 Days)
Child #3 April 6, 2033 (+549 Days)
Final Fertile Day April 10, 2033 (+4 Days)
If Jana is Duggar–Average, But Wants Wiggle Room ...
Courting March 8, 2027
Engaged August 19, 2027 (+164 Days)
Married November 19, 2027 (+92 Days)
Child #1 October 11, 2028 (+327 Days)
Child #2 April 13, 2030 (+549 Days)
Child #3 October 14, 2031 (+549 Days)
Final Fertile Day April 10, 2033 (+544 Days)
If Jana is Duggar–Average + 1 SD ...
Courting January 5, 2027
Engaged September 27, 2027 (+265 Days)
Married January 8, 2028 (+103 Days)
Child #1 January 23, 2029 (+381 Days)
Child #2 March 2, 2031 (+768 Days)
Child #3 April 8, 2033 (+768 Days)
Final Fertile Day April 10, 2033 (+4 Days)
If Jana is Going For A Quiver of 2
Let’s say Jana only wants 2 Children. If that’s the case, Jana wouldn’t have to start courting until late February 2030. That that point, she’ll be 40+ Years old! Here’s her timelines for 2 Children—
If Jana is Duggar–Average ...
Courting February 26, 2030
Engaged August 9, 2030 (+164 Days)
Married November 9, 2030 (+92 Days)
Child #1 October 6, 2031 (+327 Days)
Child #2 April 7, 2033 (+549 Days)
Final Fertile Day April 10, 2033 (+3 Days)
If Jana is Duggar–Average, But Wants Wiggle Room ...
Courting September 4, 2028
Engaged February 15, 2029 (+164 Days)
Married May 18, 2029 (+92 Days)
Child #1 April 14, 2030 (+327 Days)
Child #2 October 15, 2031 (+549 Days)
Final Fertile Day April 10, 2033 (+543 Days)
If Jana is Duggar–Average + 1 SD ...
Courting February 13, 2029
Engaged November 11, 2029 (+265 Days)
Married February 16, 2030 (+103 Days)
Child #1 March 4, 2031 (+381 Days)
Child #2 April 10, 2033 (+768 Days)
Final Fertile Day April 10, 2033 (+0 Days)
If Jana Only Wants 1 Child
Finally, maybe Jana only wants 1 Child. (It’s practically unheard of in the circles she runs in!) If so, she can put off courting, etc. until Age 41.63! Here’s the last three timelines—
If Jana is Duggar–Average ...
Courting September 1, 2031
Engaged February 12, 2032 (+164 Days)
Married May 14, 2032 (+92 Days)
Child #1 April 10, 2033 (+327 Days)
Final Fertile Day April 10, 2033 (+0 Days)
If Jana is Duggar–Average, But Wants Wiggle Room ...
Courting March 4, 2030
Engaged August 15, 2030 (+164 Days)
Married November 15, 2030 (+92 Days)
Child #1 October 12, 2031 (+327 Days)
Final Fertile Day April 10, 2033 (+546 Days)
If Jana is Duggar–Average + 1 SD ...
Courting February 18, 2031
Engaged December 8, 2031 (+265 Days)
Married March 20, 2032 (+103 Days)
Child #1 April 5, 2033 (+381 Days)
Final Fertile Day April 10, 2033 (+5 Days)
Wow, what a great Ask! Super interesting results. Personally, I hope Jana isn’t delaying a relationship just to control the number of children she’ll have. There are better ways to do that, like by leaving the quiverfull faith!

Here’s how the PGA Tour plans to return without fans in June
Golf now has a real plan to return — but it’s aspirational without expanded testing, puts an end to The Greenbrier for good, and might end up with Tiger Woods prepping for The Masters in Jackson, Mississippi.
Let’s start with the obvious positives. We’re all running thin on Netflix specials, on new books to read, whatever. After five-some weeks isolated and socially distanced with little to watch, everyone’s ready for sport to come back to our lives — in any format we can get it. Aggressively ahead of most other professional sports organizations on plotting a return, the PGA Tour announced Thursday morning a plan to resume play starting June 8.
The question isn’t if we want sports back. The person you know that loathes golf the most would probably settle for a sleepy Saturday afternoon 3M Open broadcast right now. It’s a matter if it’s right for the country and the world during this global pandemic.
Here’s what you need to know — and what to think about as we’re looking at this new schedule.
The Tour’s timeline to return is aggressive and will require extensive travel. Can that actually happen?
Dr. Anthony Fauci, who’s been a shining light of truth for many through this crisis, indicated just yesterday that there’s a path for sport to return this summer — playing without fans.
That’s not a problem for the Tour, which seems to be prepared to play events without galleries for several weeks. The return in Fort Worth at Colonial won’t feature anyone in the grandstands, nor will any event through the Rocket Mortgage Classic on the weekend of July 4 in Detroit. PGA of America president Seth Waugh has said the organization is prepared to play the August PGA Championship without fans at Harding Park in San Francisco. At the very least, the governing bodies are prepared for the reality that fans may not be present at golf tournaments for a long time.
But there’s one other item Fauci noted in his comments earlier in the week that would be a massive problem for the Tour’s proposed schedule — keeping the players quarantined, isolated, and restricted to a small geographic area.
“There’s a way of [returning].” Fauci told Snapchat on Tuesday when speaking about a possible return for Major League Baseball. “Nobody comes to the stadium. Put [the players] in big hotels, wherever you want to play, keep them very well surveilled. ... Have them tested every single week and make sure they don’t wind up infecting each other or their family, and just let them play the season out.”
Golf has an advantage other sports don’t in this struggle to return to normalcy. The game is by nature spread out over hundreds of acres, outdoors. It’s not a contact sport, save for interaction with a caddie. That makes it relatively easy to still adhere to six-feet-apart social distancing guidelines during competition.
But the PGA Tour’s proposed schedule would struggle to meet the standard Fauci and others advise of sequestering athletes in a defined localized area. The MLB, NBA, EPL, and other leagues have all reportedly floated ideas to isolate players to complete seasons in places like Las Vegas or Arizona. The Tour is not doing that here. If regional and local containment becomes a priority and testing cannot increase to the capacity needed, is it safe to have professional golfers and a traveling cadre of broadcasters, support staff, and others? Despite the announced plans, the Tour seems to at least be keeping that in mind.
PGA Tour exec Andy Pazder expresses confidence that increased testing availability will facilitate a June re-start of competition but adds, "We will play only when we are certain that it is safe and responsible to do so."

RIP to the Greenbrier event, which is gone from the schedule for good
The casualty of all the schedule shuffling? The Greenbrier, which has been bumped around several times in recent years, is off the schedule for good.
There’s perhaps no full-field PGA Tour event in the modern era that’s had as weird and circuitous a history as the West Virginia event. Added to the schedule in 2010 to replace the longstanding, fan-favorite Buick Open, the tournament opened with a bang with Stuart Appleby’s stunning final-round 59 to beat Jeff Overton. That started a nice run, including appearances by Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson, even during an often-shifting July date.
Then came the devastating floods that hit West Virginia in 2016, forcing the cancellation of the event, from which the tournament never really recovered. The later arc of the event brought us the somewhat bizarre, flag-loving A Military Tribute At The Greenbrier name. The final death knell to the relationship between the resort and the Tour may have been the choice to move the event from July to September as part of the 2019 schedule changes — which no matter the spin, is a less desirable date for a golf event opposite football.
The Tour’s contract with the Greenbrier ran through 2026, but both sides were ready to walk. So, goodbye to Old White and summer in West Virginia. You were nothing if not weird.
The off-season for pro golfers is suddenly, uh, right now
We often joke about the year-round, never-ending professional golf schedule. The true 2019-20 PGA Tour schedule provided all of a couple of weeks off between the season-ending Tour Championship and the aforementioned September Greenbrier. Still, there’s a usual ebb-and-flow to things for top players. Start ramping up the schedule slowly in January, February, March to prepare for the usual summer major months, then play sparingly in fall downtime.
That won’t be happening this year. The reshuffling has created a back-loaded 2020 schedule with odd rhythms and weird travel patterns leading into majors for the top players. Consider this example: If a player wants to make a couple of pre-Masters warm up starts, but doesn’t want to play the week prior in Houston, they’ll have to leave the country. The entire lead-up to the biggest tournament of the year features events in Korea, Japan, China, and Bermuda — during a global pandemic! Lots of players aren’t going to love that, probably Woods included.
The FedExCup Playoffs-U.S. Open combo in August-September will cause weirdness, too. What if Jordan Spieth, now 110th in the FedExCup standings, doesn’t qualify for the BMW Championship? Does he opt to play on the other side of the country the week before the U.S. Open? Come in with a month off ahead of a major? Or look somewhere else — like another Tour, for a start? It’s bizarre to even consider, but we’re going to see oddities in individual schedules like this all year.
Here’s the rest of the full, revised schedule — for now.
Revised 2019-20 PGA Tour Season schedule:
NO FANS June 8-14: Charles Schwab Challenge, Colonial Country Club, Fort Worth, Texas
NO FANS June 15-21: RBC Heritage, Harbour Town Golf Links, Hilton Head, South Carolina
NO FANS June 22-28: Travelers Championship, TPC River Highlands, Cromwell, Connecticut
NO FANS July 2-July 5: Rocket Mortgage Classic, Detroit Golf Club, Detroit
July 6-12: John Deere Classic, TPC Deere Run, Silvis, Illinois
July 13-19: the Memorial Tournament presented by Nationwide, Muirfield Village Golf Club, Dublin, Ohio
July 20-26: 3M Open, TPC Twin Cities, Blaine, Minnesota
July 27-Aug. 2: World Golf Championships-FedEx St. Jude Invitational, TPC Southwind, Memphis
July 27-Aug. 2: Barracuda Championship, Tahoe Mountain Club (Old Greenwood), Truckee, California

Aug. 24-30: BMW Championship, Olympia Fields Country Club (North), Olympia Fields, Illinois
Aug. 31-Sept. 7: Tour Championship, East Lake Golf Club, Atlanta
And because the Gregorian Calendar stopped mattering on the PGA Tour schedule a few years ago, here’s where the new “season” begins in the fall. If you’re going by the definition of “season,” next year’s Tour schedule will have six majors in it, if all goes according to this plan.
2020-21 PGA Tour Season Schedule (fall portion):

Neptune Retrograde ~ Illusion & Truth
Neptune Retrograde ~ Illusion & Truth
Posted by Gostica
Neptune travels through all 12 zodiac signs over the course of 165 years. Right now, it’s in the sign of Pisces where it rules and it will remain there until 2025.
youtube
Since June 2019, Neptune has been retrograde. Like other planets, retrograde season happens for a specific period of time, and then it goes back to being direct either in or out of the sign it started in.
Neptune first entered the sign of Pisces in 2011. So, that means everyone born between 2011 until it enters Aries in 2026 will have their Neptune in the sign of Pisces!
Neptune will go retrograde during the summertime each year. Since it is such a slow moving planet it will not re-enter Aquarius or go into Aries and then re-enter Pisces.
All the energy remains centered on the elements associated with the Fish of the zodiac.
Neptune Retrograde in Pisces dates are as follows:
2019: June 21 – November 27, 2019, 159 days.
2020: June 23, 2020- Nov 29, 2020, 159 days.
2021: June 25, 2021 – Dec 1, 2021, 159 days.
2022: June 28, 2022 – Dec 4, 2022, 159 days.
2023: June 30, 2023 – Dec 6, 2023, 159 days.
2024: July 2, 2024 – Dec 7, 2024, 158 days.
2025: July 4, 2025 – Dec 10, 2025, for 159 days.
YOU MIGHT WONDER WHAT THE PLANET NEPTUNE REPRESENTS?
The planet Neptune rules over personality traits that pertain to the subconscious mind, such as dreams, delusions, psychic abilities, illusions, mystery, receptivity, spirituality, inspiration, and fantasies.
Neptune has a very active climate, so it is famous for creating drama, confusion, and disorientation in life.
WHICH ZODIAC SIGN DOES NEPTUNE RULE?
Every zodiac sign has Neptune as an outer planet. But for certain zodiac signs, this is their ruler and for that reason it is personal.
Neptune rules over Pisces and reigns between June 21st and November 27th.
WHAT DOES IT MEAN WHEN A PLANET IS IN RETROGRADE YOU ASK?
It is when a planet appears to move backward from Earth, but it’s only an illusion. But, what is real is the shift of energies that the retrograde cycle brings.
Neptune is a master of deceit and truths. It sometimes will bring light to some difficult situations and then turn around and make another part of your life confusing.
What are you supposed to be doing during retrograde season for the planet Neptune?
This planet encourages you to seek the truth, but it can also make it easy to see what you want to see, which is not the truth.
This can lead us to be vulnerable and open to deception and it can destroy any healthy boundaries you have.
You may feel differently if you were born during a Neptune rx cycle or if you were not.
You will probably feel emotionally exhausted during this time because you will always put other’s needs before your own.
You will feel drained, but you will always try to find the best in everyone, even though when you find out who they really are will knock you back.
HOW DOES RX OF NEPTUNE HELP?
When Neptune is in Rx, it means that the unknown and murky situations are going to clear. You are going to start seeing people and yourself for who they truly are.
But this also can feel like your feet have been knocked out from underneath you. You will see the truth behind people and situations and it can be scary to acknowledge these truths, but it’s necessary for your own personal growth.
You will find that these changes happen subtly and gradually over the course of Neptune’s retrograde. So, it’s not an immediate, knock you over the head, change.
During Neptune’s retrograde, it is encouraged that you meditate and do yoga frequently.
These methods will help reduce stress and relieve some of the negativity in your life. They will also help you balance out your emotions.
For you, during Neptune’s retrograde, it is important to look at your natal chart and see where your Neptune shows up so that you can see where you need to bring more logic into your decision making.
Look for your zodiac sign below to find out what’s in store for you, plus the astrology and effects on your horoscope from June 22nd to July 22nd, 2019 and for each year that this planet turns rx while in the sign of Pisces.
ARIES (MARCH 21 – APRIL 19)
Neptune is in your 12th house and that’s where you will find your hidden enemies, illusions and vices. Aries, when Neptune is in retrograde, you will see a lightening up of dark, murky times. Neptune in Pisces
You will find that you are reflecting inward and are trying to find some self-confidence and trying to help yourself, not hurt yourself.
TAURUS (APRIL 20 – MAY 20)
Neptune is in your 11th house and this is where you find your most inspiring friendships. Taurus, when you look at your natal chart while Neptune is in Retrograde, it means that you have recently or will find out truths about your friends.

Solar Cycle 25 Predicted to be Similar to Cycle 24
Solar Cycle 25
Scientists charged with predicting the Sun’s activity for Cycle 25 say it’s likely to be much like that of current Cycle 24, which is declining and predicted to bottom out in 2019 or 2020. Solar Cycle 25 Prediction Panel experts said Cycle 25 may get off to a slow start but is anticipated to peak between 2023 and 2026 with a sunspot range of 95 to 130. This is well below the typical average of 140 to 220 sunspots per solar cycle. The panel expressed high confidence that the coming cycle should break the trend of weakening solar activity seen over the past four cycles. The Solar Cycle Prediction Panel forecasts the number of sunspots expected for solar maximum, along with the timing of the peak and minimum solar activity levels for the cycle. The outlook was presented on April 5 at the2019 NOAA Space Weather Workshop in Boulder, Colorado.
“We expect Solar Cycle 25 will be very similar to Cycle 24: Another fairly weak cycle, preceded by a long, deep minimum,” said panel co- chair Lisa Upton, a solar physicist with Space Systems Research Corp. “The expectation that Cycle 25 will be comparable in size to Cycle 24 means that the steady decline in solar cycle amplitude, seen from cycles 21 – 24, has come to an end and that there is no indication that we are currently approaching a Maunder-type minimum in solar activity.”
The solar cycle prediction gives a rough idea of the frequency of space weather storms of all types, from radio blackouts to geomagnetic storms and solar radiation storms. In addition to its effects on Amateur Radio signal propagation, space weather can affect power grids; critical military, airline, and shipping communications; satellites and GPS signals, and can even threaten astronauts through exposure to harmful radiation.
Solar Cycle 24 reached its maximum in April 2014 with a peak average of 82 sunspots. The Sun’s Northern Hemisphere led the sunspot cycle, peaking more than 2 years ahead of the Southern Hemisphere sunspot peak. Given that the Sun takes 11 years to complete one solar cycle, this is only the fourth time that US scientists have issued a solar cycle prediction. The first panel convened in 1989 for Cycle 22.
For Solar Cycle 25, the panel hopes for the first time to predict the presence, amplitude, and timing of any differences between the northern and southern hemispheres on the Sun, known as hemispheric asymmetry. Later this year, the panel will release an official sunspot number curve showing the predicted number of sunspots during any given year and any expected asymmetry. The panel will also look into the possibility of providing a solar flare probability forecast.
“While we are not predicting a particularly active Solar Cycle 25, violent eruptions from the sun can occur at any time,” said Doug Biesecker, panel co-chair and a solar physicist at NOAA’s Space Weather Prediction Center (SWPC). An example of this occurred on July 23, 2012, when a powerful coronal mass ejection (CME) eruption missed Earth but enveloped NASA’s STEREO-A satellite. A 2013 study estimated that the US would have suffered between $600 billion and $2.6 trillion in damages, particularly to electrical infrastructure, if the 2012 CME had been directed toward Earth. The strength of the 2012 eruption was comparable to the famous 1859 Carrington event that caused widespread damage to telegraph stations around the world and produced aurora displays as far south as the Caribbean.

August 4: Ezra 6–7; Ephesians 1; Psalm 31; Proverbs 20:26–27
New Post has been published on https://loveofyhwh.com/august-4-ezra-6-7-ephesians-1-psalm-31-proverbs-2026-27/
August 4: Ezra 6–7; Ephesians 1; Psalm 31; Proverbs 20:26–27
Old Testament:
Ezra 6–7
Ezra 6–7 (Listen)
The Decree of Darius
6 Then Darius the king made a decree, and search was made in Babylonia, in the house of the archives where the documents were stored. 2 And in Ecbatana, the citadel that is in the province of Media, a scroll was found on which this was written: “A record. 3 In the first year of Cyrus the king, Cyrus the king issued a decree: Concerning the house of God at Jerusalem, let the house be rebuilt, the place where sacrifices were offered, and let its foundations be retained. Its height shall be sixty cubitsA cubit was about 18 inches or 45 centimeters‘>1 and its breadth sixty cubits, 4 with three layers of great stones and one layer of timber. Let the cost be paid from the royal treasury. 5 And also let the gold and silver vessels of the house of God, which Nebuchadnezzar took out of the temple that is in Jerusalem and brought to Babylon, be restored and brought back to the temple that is in Jerusalem, each to its place. You shall put them in the house of God.”
6 “Now therefore, Tattenai, governor of the province Beyond the River, Shethar-bozenai, and yourAramaic their‘>2 associates the governors who are in the province Beyond the River, keep away. 7 Let the work on this house of God alone. Let the governor of the Jews and the elders of the Jews rebuild this house of God on its site. 8 Moreover, I make a decree regarding what you shall do for these elders of the Jews for the rebuilding of this house of God. The cost is to be paid to these men in full and without delay from the royal revenue, the tribute of the province from Beyond the River. 9 And whatever is needed—bulls, rams, or sheep for burnt offerings to the God of heaven, wheat, salt, wine, or oil, as the priests at Jerusalem require—let that be given to them day by day without fail, 10 that they may offer pleasing sacrifices to the God of heaven and pray for the life of the king and his sons. 11 Also I make a decree that if anyone alters this edict, a beam shall be pulled out of his house, and he shall be impaled on it, and his house shall be made a dunghill. 12 May the God who has caused his name to dwell there overthrow any king or people who shall put out a hand to alter this, or to destroy this house of God that is in Jerusalem. I Darius make a decree; let it be done with all diligence.”
The Temple Finished and Dedicated
13 Then, according to the word sent by Darius the king, Tattenai, the governor of the province Beyond the River, Shethar-bozenai, and their associates did with all diligence what Darius the king had ordered. 14 And the elders of the Jews built and prospered through the prophesying of Haggai the prophet and Zechariah the son of Iddo. They finished their building by decree of the God of Israel and by decree of Cyrus and Darius and Artaxerxes king of Persia; 15 and this house was finished on the third day of the month of Adar, in the sixth year of the reign of Darius the king.
16 And the people of Israel, the priests and the Levites, and the rest of the returned exiles, celebrated the dedication of this house of God with joy. 17 They offered at the dedication of this house of God 100 bulls, 200 rams, 400 lambs, and as a sin offering for all Israel 12 male goats, according to the number of the tribes of Israel. 18 And they set the priests in their divisions and the Levites in their divisions, for the service of God at Jerusalem, as it is written in the Book of Moses.
Passover Celebrated
19 On the fourteenth day of the first month, the returned exiles kept the Passover. 20 For the priests and the Levites had purified themselves together; all of them were clean. So they slaughtered the Passover lamb for all the returned exiles, for their fellow priests, and for themselves. 21 It was eaten by the people of Israel who had returned from exile, and also by every one who had joined them and separated himself from the uncleanness of the peoples of the land to worship the LORD, the God of Israel. 22 And they kept the Feast of Unleavened Bread seven days with joy, for the LORD had made them joyful and had turned the heart of the king of Assyria to them, so that he aided them in the work of the house of God, the God of Israel.
Ezra Sent to Teach the People
7 Now after this, in the reign of Artaxerxes king of Persia, Ezra the son of Seraiah, son of Azariah, son of Hilkiah, 2 son of Shallum, son of Zadok, son of Ahitub, 3 son of Amariah, son of Azariah, son of Meraioth, 4 son of Zerahiah, son of Uzzi, son of Bukki, 5 son of Abishua, son of Phinehas, son of Eleazar, son of Aaron the chief priest—6 this Ezra went up from Babylonia. He was a scribe skilled in the Law of Moses that the LORD, the God of Israel, had given, and the king granted him all that he asked, for the hand of the LORD his God was on him.
7 And there went up also to Jerusalem, in the seventh year of Artaxerxes the king, some of the people of Israel, and some of the priests and Levites, the singers and gatekeepers, and the temple servants. 8 And EzraAramaic he‘>3 came to Jerusalem in the fifth month, which was in the seventh year of the king. 9 For on the first day of the first month he began to go up from Babylonia, and on the first day of the fifth month he came to Jerusalem, for the good hand of his God was on him. 10 For Ezra had set his heart to study the Law of the LORD, and to do it and to teach his statutes and rules in Israel.
11 This is a copy of the letter that King Artaxerxes gave to Ezra the priest, the scribe, a man learned in matters of the commandments of the LORD and his statutes for Israel: 12 “Artaxerxes, king of kings, to Ezra the priest, the scribe of the Law of the God of heaven. Peace.Aramaic Perfect (probably a greeting)‘>4 And now 13 I make a decree that anyone of the people of Israel or their priests or Levites in my kingdom, who freely offers to go to Jerusalem, may go with you. 14 For you are sent by the king and his seven counselors to make inquiries about Judah and Jerusalem according to the Law of your God, which is in your hand, 15 and also to carry the silver and gold that the king and his counselors have freely offered to the God of Israel, whose dwelling is in Jerusalem, 16 with all the silver and gold that you shall find in the whole province of Babylonia, and with the freewill offerings of the people and the priests, vowed willingly for the house of their God that is in Jerusalem. 17 With this money, then, you shall with all diligence buy bulls, rams, and lambs, with their grain offerings and their drink offerings, and you shall offer them on the altar of the house of your God that is in Jerusalem. 18 Whatever seems good to you and your brothers to do with the rest of the silver and gold, you may do, according to the will of your God. 19 The vessels that have been given you for the service of the house of your God, you shall deliver before the God of Jerusalem. 20 And whatever else is required for the house of your God, which it falls to you to provide, you may provide it out of the king’s treasury.
21 “And I, Artaxerxes the king, make a decree to all the treasurers in the province Beyond the River: Whatever Ezra the priest, the scribe of the Law of the God of heaven, requires of you, let it be done with all diligence, 22 up to 100 talentsA talent was about 75 pounds or 34 kilograms‘>5 of silver, 100 corsA cor was about 6 bushels or 220 liters‘>6 of wheat, 100 bathsA bath was about 6 gallons or 22 liters‘>7 of wine, 100 baths of oil, and salt without prescribing how much. 23 Whatever is decreed by the God of heaven, let it be done in full for the house of the God of heaven, lest his wrath be against the realm of the king and his sons. 24 We also notify you that it shall not be lawful to impose tribute, custom, or toll on anyone of the priests, the Levites, the singers, the doorkeepers, the temple servants, or other servants of this house of God.
25 “And you, Ezra, according to the wisdom of your God that is in your hand, appoint magistrates and judges who may judge all the people in the province Beyond the River, all such as know the laws of your God. And those who do not know them, you shall teach. 26 Whoever will not obey the law of your God and the law of the king, let judgment be strictly executed on him, whether for death or for banishment or for confiscation of his goods or for imprisonment.”
27 Blessed be the LORD, the God of our fathers, who put such a thing as this into the heart of the king, to beautify the house of the LORD that is in Jerusalem, 28 and who extended to me his steadfast love before the king and his counselors, and before all the king’s mighty officers. I took courage, for the hand of the LORD my God was on me, and I gathered leading men from Israel to go up with me.

Greeting
1 Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God,
To the saints who are in Ephesus, and are faithfulSome manuscripts saints who are also faithful (omitting in Ephesus)‘>1 in Christ Jesus:
2 Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Spiritual Blessings in Christ
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places, 4 even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. In love 5 he predestined usOr before him in love, 5having predestined us‘>2 for adoption to himself as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will, 6 to the praise of his glorious grace, with which he has blessed us in the Beloved. 7 In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace, 8 which he lavished upon us, in all wisdom and insight 9 making knownOr he lavished upon us in all wisdom and insight, making known . . .‘>3 to us the mystery of his will, according to his purpose, which he set forth in Christ 10 as a plan for the fullness of time, to unite all things in him, things in heaven and things on earth.
11 In him we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to the purpose of him who works all things according to the counsel of his will, 12 so that we who were the first to hope in Christ might be to the praise of his glory. 13 In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, 14 who is the guaranteeOr down payment‘>4 of our inheritance until we acquire possession of it,Or until God redeems his possession‘>5 to the praise of his glory.

31 In you, O LORD, do I take refuge; let me never be put to shame; in your righteousness deliver me! 2 Incline your ear to me; rescue me speedily! Be a rock of refuge for me, a strong fortress to save me! 3 For you are my rock and my fortress; and for your name’s sake you lead me and guide me; 4 you take me out of the net they have hidden for me, for you are my refuge. 5 Into your hand I commit my spirit; you have redeemed me, O LORD, faithful God. 6 I hateMasoretic Text; one Hebrew manuscript, Septuagint, Syriac, Jerome You hate‘>1 those who pay regard to worthless idols, but I trust in the LORD. 7 I will rejoice and be glad in your steadfast love, because you have seen my affliction; you have known the distress of my soul, 8 and you have not delivered me into the hand of the enemy; you have set my feet in a broad place. 9 Be gracious to me, O LORD, for I am in distress; my eye is wasted from grief; my soul and my body also. 10 For my life is spent with sorrow, and my years with sighing; my strength fails because of my iniquity, and my bones waste away. 11 Because of all my adversaries I have become a reproach, especially to my neighbors, and an object of dread to my acquaintances; those who see me in the street flee from me. 12 I have been forgotten like one who is dead; I have become like a broken vessel. 13 For I hear the whispering of many— terror on every side!— as they scheme together against me, as they plot to take my life. 14 But I trust in you, O LORD; I say, “You are my God.” 15 My times are in your hand; rescue me from the hand of my enemies and from my persecutors! 16 Make your face shine on your servant; save me in your steadfast love! 17 O LORD, let me not be put to shame, for I call upon you; let the wicked be put to shame; let them go silently to Sheol. 18 Let the lying lips be mute, which speak insolently against the righteous in pride and contempt. 19 Oh, how abundant is your goodness, which you have stored up for those who fear you and worked for those who take refuge in you, in the sight of the children of mankind! 20 In the cover of your presence you hide them from the plots of men; you store them in your shelter from the strife of tongues. 21 Blessed be the LORD, for he has wondrously shown his steadfast love to me when I was in a besieged city. 22 I had said in my alarm,Or in my haste‘>2 “I am cut off from your sight.” But you heard the voice of my pleas for mercy when I cried to you for help. 23 Love the LORD, all you his saints! These Images May Look Fake, But They Are 100% Real...And Not Edited.

These Images May Look Fake, But They Are 100% Real...And Not Edited.
Photo editing is a common practice these days. It’s used for everything from making celebrities prettier to creating comedic images involving cats. Even if you have a pretty rudimentary background in software, you can download a program and fiddle around with it. Want a picture of yourself with your favorite actor? Done. Jet-skiing on a shark down a lava flow while battling aliens? Done.
Anymore, we’re all a little jaded. When you see a cool photo, you may wonder how it was edited. But the incredible pictures you see below? Someone was just in the right place at the right time and took an incredible picture that no one will believe.
1.) This rainbow laser mimics a Nyan Cat flyover
Via Izismile
The government doesn’t want you to know that it wasa Nyan Cat flyover.
2.) This would be a terrible digital art piece, but it’s a great photo.
Via Izismile
The red-object-in-black-and-white has become the cheesy, art-school staple of Photoshop jobs. This is not one of those. This hibiscus bloomed after its surroundings were coated in ash following a volcanic eruption in Indonesia.
3.) Color in the gray.
Via Izismile
Like the hibiscus, this image was taken after the eruption of Japan’s Mt. Ontake in September 2014, which killed at least 50 people and trapped others under rock and ash. These are rescue workers arriving on the scene.
4.) At the end of the rainbow you’ll find…an SUV?
Via Izismile
Probably more useful than a pot of gold.
5.) Ever want to go aboard a UFO?
Via Izismile
This is actually a suite in Sweden’s Tree Hotel, where each suite, perched in the treetops has a unique design. This one was created by Bertil Harström.
6.) Here’s a less Earth-bound UFO
Via Izismile
“No one will notice us if we pretend we’re a cloud.”
7.) Keep this enormous moth away from your sweaters.
Via Izismile
The Attacus atlas is the world’s largest moth, with wingspans up to 10 inches. The tips of their wings also look like snake heads!
8.) Just a splash of color. A square splash
Via Izismile
French artist Georges Rousse has been painting his perspective pieces in abandoned buildings since the 1980s.
9.) More perspective art…
Via Izismile
This was created by street artist Aakash Nihilani using fluorescent green tape.
10.) Even more perspective art!
Via Izismile
Artist Felice Varini is known for creating optical illusions with perspective art, making concentric circles and swooping lines across buildings and cityscapes, as well as (relatively) smaller pieces like this.
11.) That’s a lot of sheep.
Via Izismile
This is the San Boldo Pass in the Italian Alps. It experiences regular sheep jams.
12.) Go deep sea diving without getting wet.
Via Izismile
The Radisson Blu Hotel in Berlin offers visitors the chance to take and elevator ride through its two-story cylindrical aquarium, which is home to more than 1,500 fish. Scuba diving for aquarium personnel only. (Sorry)
13.) 8-bit cosplaying.
Via Izismile
There are plenty of awesome Samus Aran (of Metroid fame) cosplays out there, but this clever, retro take on the iconic character also makes you do a double take.
14.) A perfect sunbeam sets this mountain alight.
Via Izismile
Sometimes the sun comes through the mountains just right.
15.) No, look again.
Via Izismile
It’s almost like these rhinos choreographed this. “Heh heh, silly humans.”
16.) “Just waiting for my pixelated train.”
Via Izismile
This is a sculpture called “Maya” in the Bristol Temple Meads station in England. It was created by Luke Jerram, and was created using 5,000 12-mm square stickers on water-cut aluminum sheets. It’s three-dimensional
17.) A rooftop island
Via Izismile
Someone in Beijing got sick of city life and constructed this mountainous oasis on the roof of their building. Of course, it’s not exactly legal, or safe, to do this, and the structure gained some notoriety.
18.) The day the ocean turned into beer
Via Izismile
This is an actual weather phenomenon known as a shelf cloud, which happens when warm and cool air collide, forming a weirdly regular barrier, and they’re usually followed by a storm. This one may have picked up some dust, or is filtering the light at a certain angle, accounting for the color.
19.) They should probably put up a fence.
Via Izismile
Artist Erik Johansson created this street illusion in 2011 in Stockholm’s Sergelstorg Square. Passerby had a lot of fun playing with it.
20.) The ghost of a tsunami.
Via Izismile
These low-lying clouds swept over the Florida coast in 2012. This happens when air holding a lot of moisture experiences a drop in temperature. Cooler air can hold less moisture, so all the water condenses and forms a mist. These mist clouds evaporated again when they fell over the buildings and came into contact with warmer air again.
21.) A miniature, waterless aquarium.
Via Izismile
This is known as an “ocean opal,” and features light-refracting facets as well as veins of other minerals, making it look like a tiny underwater scene trapped in stone.
22.) This house disappears into its desert surroundings
Via Izismile
Lucid Stead is an art installation project by Phillip K. Smith. This 70-year-old homesteader’s shack was given a makeover with mirrored slats that make it appear to disappear into the landscape. It also lights up at night.
23.) The world’s fluffiest bunny
Via Izismile
It might just be me, but the rabbit inside all that fluff (it’s an Angora) cannot possibly be enjoying this.
24.) Where the goth kids come from
Via Izismile
This was actually an abandoned–and condemned–house in Germany. It was a popular spot for graffiti artists and could be seen covered in bright pieces of art. However, it was slated for demolition, and, as a farewell, artists Erik Sturm and Simon Jung painted it all black. The house was demolished, but you can still see it on Google Maps.
25.) Stained glass landscape
Via Izismile
These are terraced rice paddies in China’s Yunnan Province. The colors come from algae that grows in the water-saturated paddies, as well as from reflections of the sky.
26.) Projections turn trees into faces monstrous and serene.
Via Izismile
These light projections in Cambodia transformed ordinary trees into gods and demons. They were photographed by Clement Briend
27.) A dizzying cathedral ceiling
Via Izismile
The Sagrada Família Cathedral in Barcelona was designed by Antoni Gaudi, who designed a lot of the city’s famous buildings. Construction on the church began in 1882, and is still not complete. It’s projected completion is in 2026, a century after Gaudi’s death.
28.) Rendering car…
Via Izismile
It might look like an artist is about to place an image of a car in this photo, but that outline exists in the physical world. It’s a wire sculpture by artist Benedict Radcliffe.
29.) Do not adjust your screen
Via Izismile
Though it looks like a screen glitch, this is actually an intricately-carved wooden cabinet by designer Ferruccio Laviani. It combines traditonal woodwork with a very modern visual phenomenon.
30.) World arm-wrestling champion is tired of your sophomoric jokes.
Via Izismile
We’re sure Matthias Schlitte has heard all the jokes before; he even has the nickname “Hellboy.” He was actually born with a genetic defect that resulted in his right forearm bone 33% larger than his typically-proportioned left one. Which makes for good arm wrestling.
Now if those aren’t notable, I don’t know what is. You can chalk these up to deliberate creativity, being in the right place at the right time, or just plain weirdness. However they happened, it’s amazing what really goes on in the world!

Your Favorite NHL Team Is Going to Blow It at the Trade Deadline
It happens once a year like clockwork. The names are usually big, the expectations are always high and even though you know you will come away disappointed, you can’t avert your eyes from it. No, it’s not a big budget DC movie—it’s the NHL’s trade deadline.
Instead of wasting your time by looking at the needs of teams and potential available players and getting your hopes up, I’m going to give you the straight truth about the deadline—your GM will botch it and/or the players your team gets won’t matter. Maybe your team will acquire a draft pick that becomes the star player that leads your team to a title in 2026, but chances are, your GM will screw up the pick like he’s screwed up everything else.
So here’s why your stupid team will screw up the trade deadline.
Listen to the latest episode of Biscuits, VICE Sports’ hockey podcast
31. Arizona Coyotes
When your organizational philosophy is, “Spend as little on the team as possible so we can invest it in cryptocurrency,” the Stanley Cup isn’t in your future. John Chayka took over a team with 76 points two seasons ago and, after an offseason designed to improve the team immediately, they are on pace for 61 points this season. That would be the fewest points in team history. Look for Chayka to acquire dead salary cap money or a talented young player he will trade again in two years.
30. Buffalo Sabres
What possible trade can a team make when the team is haunted? Can it acquire a Ghostbuster? Jack Eichel has to be one of the five unhappiest millionaires in the world. Why does Stephen King set all his books in a fake New England town when Buffalo is clearly the scariest place in the world? The Sabres are somehow worse than they were two years ago when they landed Eichel.
29. Ottawa Senators
https://sports.vice.com/en_ca/embed/article/wjp8zb/ottawa-deserves-better-than-eugene-melnyk?utm_source=stylizedembed_sports.vice.com&utm_campaign=vbppmx&site=sports
We are two weeks away from owner Eugene Melnyk firing the GM, coach, trainer, a popcorn guy in the lower bowl of the Accumulated Debt Center, and a parking attendant so he can do the jobs himself and save a few bucks. I’m no hockey scientist but when your trade deadline strategy is to shed money like you’re Montgomery Brewster, the Stanley Cup isn’t in your plans. Ever. Melnyk should just put himself in the lineup for a Leafs game and get it over with. Maybe he’ll do that after he deals Erik Karlsson for 35 cents on the dollar.
28. Montreal Canadiens
Imagine being two years removed from having traded PK Subban and still being in charge of that roster? This is like Exxon letting the guy who crashed an oil tanker into an iceberg chart courses for all future tanker voyages. And now the Habs are letting Marc Bergevin make another round of franchise-altering decisions. Somehow I doubt Max Pacioretty for Ryan Callahan straight up will help the Habs end their Stanley Cup drought.
27. Vancouver Canucks
Listening to Jim Benning talk about why he re-signed Erik Gudbranson as opposed to trading him should make clear why the Canucks are doomed. Instead of fleecing a team for a second-round pick, Benning wanted to lock up a defenseman that’s never been good but people thought he’d be good a decade ago. Also, he’s tall. A professional talented evaluator is basing decisions on the length of a guy’s stick. I’m excited to see if Benning forgets to trade Thomas Vanek. “Oh, right, that guy is a UFA after this season, isn’t he? That’s on me, guys. My bad.”
26. Edmonton Oilers
Canadian teams all suck again, huh? Do you think the Oilers have a handler for Peter Chiarelli at things like the GM meetings? Like, there’s a guy with a taser that renders Chiarelli unconscious if he ever wanders into a room alone with David Poile so he doesn’t trade Connor McDavid for Nick Bonino. “The Oilers are in the market for some wingers” is a damn fun sentence to type. What a league!
25. Detroit Red Wings
This once-proud franchise is desperately and obviously in need of a rebuild, which was why after last season it was fun to hear Ken Holland say, “Nobody wants to see a rebuild.” Hey, when you’re packing 6,000 per night into a taxpayer-funded pizza joint, you have to get to 85 points any way you can. Waiting to trade Petr Mrazek until his value was at an all-time low is the type of progressive thinking you want from a general manager that’s not under contract for next season. Hanging on to Mike Green until he has a lingering upper-body injury days before the deadline? Holland is playing chess while you’re playing checkers, my friends.
24. Chicago Blackhawks
It’s hard to see a way the Blackhawks bounce back any time soon. Cap circumvention is no longer allowed and they are out of valuable players to package with bad contracts in trades that only help in the short term. What exactly would Stan Bowman have to attach to Brent Seabrook to get another team to take him? The formula for time travel? The pee tape? They say it’s wrong to take delight in the misery of others but that does not include the Blackhawks.
23. Florida Panthers
I love that the guy who let Jonathan Marchessault and Reilly Smith go to Vegas in exchange for massage coupons is once again helming a pivotal point for the franchise. What do you think Dale Tallon would have paid for Erik Gudbranson in a trade? Aleksander Barkov and a first? Tallon is probably only still employed by the Panthers because of a human resources paperwork error. He’s Milton from Office Space but with power. He will yet again be given the opportunity to drag the team down even further because nothing matters in this organization. It’s a great reflection of America, when you think about it.
22. New York Rangers
I totally have faith in a front office that fancied itself a contender seven months ago when it gave Kevin Shattenkirk a gigantic contract and is now announcing to the world it will sell anyone that is bolted to the ice. You mean the fellas that overpaid Brendan Smith and then sent him to the AHL are plotting the course for the future? How do you not have confidence in that sort of vision?!? This is also the leadership group that chose Dan Girardi over Anton Stralman. The Rangers went 54 years between their last two Stanley Cups and it will be another 100 years before they win another one.
21. Columbus Blue Jackets
The Blue Jackets could somehow acquire John Tavares, Erik Karlsson, Ryan McDonagh, Rick Nash, and sign a 24-year-old clone of Wayne Gretzky created from his DNA, and John Tortorella would still find a reason to play Jack Johnson and Brandon Dubinsky 40 minutes a night. This is also the team that let William Karlsson go in the expansion draft, so there’s no one to trust here. Either the trade will be bad or the trade will be good and Tortorella will cut the player’s ice time because he refused to block a shot with his dick in practice.
20. New York Islanders
Garth Snow has botched more picks than a greasy-handed defensive back and wasted the prime years of a Hall of Famer, but hell yeah, let’s have him in charge of the biggest decision in franchise history… what to do with John Tavares. In any other sport, the GM trades the elite talent headed for free agency when the team is at best a coin flip to make the playoffs, then pushes to re-sign him in the offseason. But this is the dumbest sport in the world, so the GM that’s underwhelmed for a decade will hang onto Tavares for the rest of the season and potentially lose him for nothing instead of reaping a bounty of futures at the deadline (that he’d probably botch, anyway). The Islanders are the Kobayashi Maru of hockey.
19. Carolina Hurricanes
This is the fourth season of Ron Francis’ reign as GM and he’s got a shot to bring the Hurricanes to the playoffs for the first time since 2009. Francis already messed up his best chance to improve the goaltending with his idiotic signing of Scott Darling (please do not search for my opinions on Darling before this season) and now the team is one or two pieces away from being a perennial playoff contender, so look for him to pull the trigger on someone like Kris Versteeg or James Wisniewski, moves that won’t help or hurt either way.
18. Colorado Avalanche
Joe Sakic is still in charge of the Avalanche, right? It’s amazing how after he netted a bunch of prospects and picks for Matt Duchene, suddenly people wondered if he was now good at his job. He is not. It’s not a great transaction history for Patrick Roy’s best buddy. He found a way to get less for Nick Holden than the Rangers did. Life is a mystery but you can be assured that Sakic will get suckered by someone that had fewer than 1,000 points in their NHL playing career.
17. Calgary Flames
Brad Treliving has done well and the Flames are headed in the right direction, but there’s still a little bit of that We Need Guys Who Will Punch Your Dicks Guys thing that doesn’t help. I could see the trade report across the scroll: “Flames acquire C Zac Rinaldo from the Coyotes in exchange for sixth-round pick.” And that will be the Flames’ only move.
16. Los Angeles Kings
Dean Lombardi’s ghost is still running things if the Kings think Dion Phaneuf on the roster for the next 100 years helps. The Kings won two Cups after robbing the Blue Jackets blind at the deadline so I will withdraw this if there is a big Kings-Blue Jackets trade on Monday that sends Artemi Panarin to the Kings for Phaneuf in a 1-for-1 deal. Maybe the Coyotes are the new Blue Jackets but somehow I don’t think Tobias Rieder is headed toward a Jeff Carter/Marian Gaborik finish to the season.
15. New Jersey Devils
It’s been an unexpectedly great season for the Devils, who look locked into a playoff spot with two months to play. But really, what did Ray Shero really do here? He answered a late night drunk dial from Peter Chiarelli and robbed him in the Adam Larsson-Taylor Hall trade; won a draft lottery that landed him Nico Hischier, and dealt Adam Henrique for Sami Vatanen in a no-brainer deal that was only possible because of winning the draft lottery. Shero is due to drop a turd on the floor. Maybe he brings Douglas Murray out of retirement.
14. Philadelphia Flyers
Ron Hextall hasn’t been a buyer since becoming a GM in 2014, as the Flyers have mostly been bad thanks to another former Flyer running the team into the ground. Hextall has made some good deals away from the deadline, and getting Petr Mrazek was one of them. I guess what I’m saying here is the Flyers suck and there’s nothing Hextall can do to help this team win a Cup this year. The Flyers have been run by an ex-player since 1994; guess how many times they’ve won the Cup over that stretch? It’s zero. That was an easy game.
13. Anaheim Ducks
Last year, Bob Murray acquired Patrick Eaves and the Ducks lost in the conference finals with Eaves missing most of the playoffs with a high-ankle sprain. Two years ago, Murray loaded up by landing Patrick Maroon, Brandon Pirri, and Jamie McGinn, who made it possible for the Ducks to lose in the first round in seven games instead of six. The list of times Murray did the wrong thing goes on and on.
12. Minnesota Wild
Some GMs get their jobs because they were awesome at hockey decades ago; others get the gig because their dads were GMs. Meet Chuck Fletcher, the guy who let Alex Tuch go to the Vegas and gave up a first- and second-round pick at last year’s trade deadline for Martin Hanzal, who legally dies before every postseason. I don’t know what Fletcher has up his sleeve this year but I bet it’s used to overpay for someone who doesn’t help the Wild win more than five playoff games.
11. St. Louis Blues
Doug Armstrong might be Batman. He’s made a lot of bad moves yet he uses these diversion tactics and people think he’s a hero. He’s adapted to the darkness. Remember the Ryan Miller deal? Goodness. That was also the Steve Ott deal. The Blues have been fading since a strong start so your only hope is he’s out fighting crime and using a weirdly deep voice instead of taking calls from other GMs.
10. San Jose Sharks
Doug Wilson has been pretty much winging it since he tried to shame Joe Thornton into accepting a trade a few years ago and then the Sharks got good again. Despite an aging core, Wilson never looked at rentals, and instead focused on getting players with term left on their contract, like Jannik Hansen. Why make your team much better in the short term when you can do virtually nothing to help it over a longer timeline with guys like Hansen? Sharks hockey, baby!
9. Dallas Stars
Jim Nill once traded a conditional first-round pick for Kris Russell. That’s the end of this section.
8. Pittsburgh Penguins
Jim Rutherford has actually made some helpful moves at the deadline to help the Penguins win Cups. But just like other wise GMs, Rutherford has already fortified his contender with [squints at roster] Riley Sheahan and [rubs eyes] Jamie Oleksiak. When you run out of cap space, you always do it for a 30-point center and the Dallas Stars’ worst defensemen. Someone should do a study on how many GMs create legacies by winning titles with another GM’s players and put Stan Bowman and Jim Rutherford statues outside the Other People’s Titles Hall of Fame.
7. Washington Capitals
Against all odds, after a summer of shedding salary and useful players, the Capitals are still near the top of the league. Objectively worse than they have been the past two years, Brian MacLellan has said he doesn’t expect the team to be buyers like they were last year, because as we all know, Alex Ovechkin will not continue to age, nor will Nicklas Backstrom. It’s also important to pin your team’s perpetual shortcomings on two months of Kevin Shattenkirk, this way you can be gun shy about landing a big name again. If at first you don’t succeed, trade for Michal Kempny.
6. Toronto Maple Leafs
https://sports.vice.com/en_ca/embed/article/yw34xw/nhl-gms-keep-their-jobs-whether-they-suck-or-not?utm_source=stylizedembed_sports.vice.com&utm_campaign=vbppmx&site=sports
From the team that brought you “Patrick Marleau for three years and $19 million” last summer comes the exciting late-winter follow-up, “some guy Mike Babcock likes that isn’t all that helpful.” I don’t know who is coming to Toronto but you know it will be someone that gets too many minutes and isn’t all that skilled. Maybe it will be Roman Polak’s cousin Greco Polak who will play 22 minutes a night because he’s “hard to play against.” Someone should let the Leafs know their window to win a title is open sooner than they expected so they should go back in time and get Marleau’s cap hit off the books so they can add an expensive defenseman.
5. Winnipeg Jets
I like to picture Kevin Cheveldayoff around deadline day like other people are when it comes to visiting the dentist. He knows he has to go but he’s constantly putting it off for silly reasons. “What’s that? Ken Holland’s on the phone? Oh, um, tell him I can’t talk trade right now because… ummm… my dog’s sick, yeah. Sorry.” Then enough time passes and instead of his teeth falling out his team falls apart. They say when a door closes, God opens a window. Maybe that window is a championship window in Winnipeg and God is Cheveldayoff, ready to land a fourth-line winger for a sixth-round pick.
4. Nashville Predators
David Poile does all his work before the deadline so he can spend deadline day doing things like signing 37-year-old men that haven’t played hockey in eight months. When it’s time to load up at the deadline, that’s when Poile lands all his playoff healthy scratches, like PA Parenteau and Mike Santorelli. The Preds lost James Neal in the expansion draft and as a Cup favorite, it’s great to see Nashville looking into offensive-minded replacements like Rick Nash, because any time you can snag a guy that hasn’t cracked 40 points in three seasons and consistently falls flat in the playoffs, you have to look into that.
3. Boston Bruins
Once you add Nick Holden to a Cup contender, isn’t your job already done? Don Sweeney can put his feet up and relax now that he added the defensemen who was run over during last year’s playoffs by the run and gun Ottawa Senators. When you have a fast moving boat, it’s always important to tie anchors to it. Steve Yzerman is a tremendous GM when it comes to arriving at a job where the foundational pieces are already there or using a terrible CBA to leverage great RFAs into taking bad deals because other GMs are too chicken shit to use an offer sheet. At the trade deadline, this is when Yzerman lands guys like Braydon Coburn and Ryan Callahan. He’s also the guy who let Jonathan Marchessault walk for nothing and gave three-goal scorer Callahan $6 million a year through 2020. That’s the guy you want evaluating talent for a Cup favorite.

What a season. What a time to be a sports fan. An expansion team with championship aspirations in its first year. And what other general manager would you have in charge of a team like this other than George McPhee? The guy who traded Filip Forsberg for Martin Erat and got in on the ground floor of the Capitals Can’t Get Past The Second Round movement is now tasked with getting the team over the top. Maybe a trade of Alex Tuch for Brent Seabrook? Tie McPhee to a blackjack table all day Monday. It’s the only way Vegas wins.
