i have a few question out of curiosity, it is not my wish to fight or argue but why are you all so upset that that decided to paint aegon as a rapist? that’s one of the very few thing that in the book is confirmed by both black and green’s sources so its 100% canon. it was not invented by the writer and even if in the book there is no particular maid mentioned that doesn’t change that he is still a sexual harasser. and even the marriage with haelena. the thought that it were a marriage of love is more headcanon than canon cause idk about u but if i love someone i am loyal to them. aegon attented brothel regulary, cheated on her constantly and sired bastards. he sure have affection for her im not in any way denying this but from this to passing as if we were a loving couple goes a long way

It's okay, i'm not fighting or arguing anyway, just saying my personal opinions. First of all, I never say Aegon and Helaena are really a loving couple, I said he isn't toxic or aggressive to her like the show painted. Yeah ofc cheated on her many times, like many Targaryen men did too. So? Where's the point? If infidelity was the biggest conflict in Westeros, I guess TB would have some issues too (show and books btw)

And the problem isn't Aegon sexual assaults or rapes being referenced on the show, the main problem about this topic is: screenwriters just focused on that cuz yeah they try hard to make all the audience hate TG, while they soften some TB flaws or problematic relationships and actions.

They did with Aegon during season one and they will do it again during season three or four, cuz they loveeee Mushroom's bad rumors about Team Green, but ignore the random rumors about Team Black

As much as I absolutely love the funeral scene in 2x02, I can't help thinking about the fact something is missing. Aegon. The funeral was supposed to be Aegon and Helaena's moment, and the two of them alone, not yet another focus on Alicent.

Imagine Aegon and Helaena in front of Jaehaerys' pyre, with Jaehaera AND Maelor present. Helaena is broken with grief, as is Aegon, who nevertheless tries to show himself strong. Maelor cries, and Aegon lifts him up by taking him in his arms, eliciting even more sympathy from the people. Sunfyre and Dreamfyre stand before the pyre, and Aegon gives the command. Helaena turns her head not to look, clutching Jaehaera, and then lifting her face as she does in the episode. Aegon cries a tear, and then he leads his queen away.
