In all seriousness, I feel so so sorry for Catherine. I have no intention of publicly speculating on why she needed surgery but my quick googles have shown that a 1-3 month recovery period at home is normal for abominal surgery with a large incision so I don't think people need to be panicking unnecessarily.
I'm so sad that we won't see her until late April at the earliest. I'm sad that we won't get to see her at the BAFTAs, or at with the Welsh/Irish guards, or at the 6 Nations. I'm sad that the Waleses won't be going abroad until the end of the year at the earliest. I'm sad that Kate won't be part of any incoming State Visits in the spring. I'm really sad that there won't be any day-to-day engagements, seeing her with the public or with little children. I don't want her to rush back but I contain multitudes and I will miss her.
I'm completely soft for the fact that William won't be doing engagements until mid-February because he will be with Kate. I'm soft for the fact that he will have a reduced schedule afterwards. And I'm obsessed with the fact that they included that Catherine wants to return to work and wants to reschedule her engagements as soon as possible.
I genuinely don't know what I'm going to do with myself for three months and I'm not looking forward to an increased silly season. I hope Catherine gets to rest and recover privately, with her friends and family around her, and I hope that the summer brings a gentle return to royal duties, the autumn brings overseas trips and tours, and winter brings tiaras and tinsel.

masterlists | guidelines
Addison walks towards the break room, hoping to find Amelia there before it’s too late. She walks into the room, luckily seeing the youngest Shepherd sitting on the couch, coffee in hand, talking with Maggie Pierce. “Amelia, could I talk to you for a minute?” She says right away, skipping the pleasantries.
With a look, Amelia stands up. “Sure.” She chuckles quietly, slightly nervous. “What’s up?” She asks after Maggie leaves to room for the two.
“I called Doctor Y/L/N here to help me with a patient of mine, she’s arriving today.” She tells, trying to gauge what Amelia’s thoughts are about seeing her ex again. “I wanted to tell you before she’s here.”
“Okay, thanks for telling me.” And with that Amelia leaves the room. Addison sighs, rubbing her forehead. Suddenly she isn’t too sure if she did the right thing, but she really needs Y/N here, she’s the best in her field. She just has to hope everything goes smoothly.
“Addison!” Y/N’s voice calls out excitedly.
The red head turns around to see her doctor friend walking towards her with a bright smile. “Hey, stranger.” Addison laughs, meeting her half way to hug her. “I’m so glad to finally see you. How was the world?” She pulls away, her hands on Y/N’s shoulders to see how much she has changed over the years.
“The world was good.” Y/N decided to leave the practice in Los Angeles to join the Doctors Without Borders, traveling all over the world with them. “How’s Seattle? I didn’t think you’d come back here.” She looks around the hospital. This isn’t her first time in Grey Sloan Memorial, but it has been a long time since she was last here.
“Seattle is good. You know I go where babies need me, and this baby needs us both.” She nods her head forward, so they start walking. “The baby is two months old and his heart is incredibly weak. He won’t survive without a donor heart, but getting a heart that small will take too much time.”
“That’s where I come in.”
“That’s where you come in.” Addison smiles, she missed working with her. “His heart could become strong enough, if you fixed the veins around it.” They walk into a room full of pictures of the baby’s heart and veins.
Y/N looks through the pictures, at times picking one of them up to see it closer. The heart is compromised, and the baby won’t survive long if they do nothing, but the surgery Addison is talking about is incredibly risky. Fortunately, Y/N is a risk taker.
“I can do it,” she states, “but I’m gonna need a lot of help. His vitals need to be monitored closely.”
Letting out a sigh of relief, Addison nods. “I’ll get you anything you need.” She pauses for a moment, contemplating on saying anything. “Amelia is here, you know? Incase you wanted to talk to her.”
“Oh.” Y/N clears her throat, cleaning up the pictures into a neat pile so she wouldn’t have to look at Addison staring at her. “I didn’t know that.” She mumbles.
The now silent and tense atmosphere of the room makes Addison question whether she made the right decision. Amelia is one of the most important people in her life, she’s her sister, but she also cares about Y/N a lot. Their relationship didn’t really end on the best terms, mostly because of Amelia’s addiction, but the relationship itself was good. They both were happiest Addison has ever seen when they were together.
“I’ll make a surgery plan and then get back to you, okay?” Y/N states, not waiting for Addison to answer as she leaves the room.
Her mind is all over the place, which makes her walk through the hallways with less attention than usually, though she does greet the familiar faces going past her. However, she doesn’t notice the person walking right towards her with the same state of mind. So, they crash into each other.
All the pictures Y/N was holding fly to the floor. “Shit, I’m sorry.” She grumbles, kneeling down to gather them.
“Y/N?”
The familiar voice makes her head snap up. Amelia is standing over her, an indescribable look on her face. The exes stare at each other in silence, both unsure what to do. They both knew of the others presence in the hospital, but they didn’t think they’d bump into each other, at least not yet.
Her breath hitches as she looks over Amelia’s face. As much as she doesn’t like admitting it, she missed her. “Amy.” With a mumble, Y/N stands up, dusting off her scrubs.
“Amelia, no one calls me Amy anymore.” She says with a small smile. Y/N just nods, putting it to her mind. “I haven’t seen you in a while.”
“Yeah.”
Amelia scratches the back of her neck. “So, Addison called you.”
“She did.” The pictures are starting to crease in her grip. “There’s a..baby, obviously, uhm, and she needed help.” She clears her throat, looking around for an exit. “I actually have to make a surgery plan for tomorrow, so, I’ll see you around, I guess.”
Going to walk past Amelia, she stops once a hand takes hold of her arm. “Could we talk? Just the two of us, later today.”
The ask makes Y/N hesitant, but the way Amelia is looking at her makes her give in. “Okay.”
“Awesome,” a smile spreads on Amelia’s face, “coffee, after work?”
“I’ll see you then.” She lets go and Y/N walks away, Amelia’s eyes never leaving her back.
Amelia paces around the lobby of the hospital, her mind racing a mile a minute. She has always considered Y/N her biggest love, maybe even soulmate, if she truly believes in them. Seeing her again has brought the feelings back to the surface and she isn’t sure what to do with them.
Her thoughts come to a halt when she notices Y/N walking towards her. Instead of her scrubs, she’s now wearing her everyday clothes. She looks just as beautiful as she did all those years ago. And she decides to tell her so, “you look beautiful.” Y/N hums with a slight smile, her cheeks turn warm, but she pays no mind to it. “There’s a small cafe down the street.”
“Let’s go then.” As they walk side by side, Y/N bites the inside of her cheek, looking down at the pavement. The silence is uncomfortable and they desperately want to break it, but neither of them know what’s appropriate to say in a situation like this. “How have you been?” Y/N decodes to ask, glancing at Amelia.
“Better. A lot better actually. I’ve been sober for a long time, though it’s still hard sometimes. I got two new sisters, sort of,” she chuckles, “Meredith and Maggie. And I’m the head of neuro department.”
“I heard about Derek. I’m sorry.”
“Yeah.” Amelia sighs. “It’s okay.” She opens the door of the cafe for Y/N before stepping inside herself. At the counter, they order their coffees, and when it comes time to pay, Amelia pushes Y/N’s hand away from the machine. “My treat.” She pays both of their coffees.
“You didn’t have to.”
“I wanted to.” They move to the other side pf the counter to wait for their coffees. “It’s the least I can do after,” she pauses, “everything.”
“It wasn’t completely your fault.” She looks away from her. “You were going through a tough time.”
“That’s no excuse. I hurt you and drove away one of the best things in my life.”
Being one of the best things in her life sounds like an exaggeration, but the sincerity in Amelia’s eyes makes her believe she really means it. “You’re also important to me.” Before the conversation van keep on going, the barista shouts their names. They take their coffees and find a quiet corner place to sit.
“So, what have you been doing all there years?”
“I moved around with Doctors Without Borders.” Y/N sips her drink. “Also studied a bit on the side.”
“And your love life?”
If Amelia was anything, she was blunt. If she wanted know something, she’d ask, Y/N usually liked her unfiltered talk. “Love life, huh?” She giggles with a shake of her head. “There were some flings and one time things, you know, to release stress I suppose. But nothing that stayed.” Amelia listens intently while she drinks her coffee. “And you?”
She shrugs. “There was Link and Kai, but just like every relationship I have had, they ended with someone’s heart broken.” Amelia has a grin on her face. She has already gotten over the past two relationships, but it’s still disheartening to have failed relationships.
“Hm, you’ll find your person.”
“Maybe,” Amelia keeps eye contact with Y/N, “I really hope so.”
Looking down, Y/N taps the mug in front of her with her nails, all the feelings around them getting overwhelming. “Listen,” she changes the subject, “could you be in the surgery tomorrow? I need someone to monitor her brain activity, and you are the best there is.” She lifts her head to give Amelia a teasing look. “Or at least you used to be. Have you gotten worse over the years?”
“Worse? Do you know who you’re talking to? I’m better than ever.” Amelia answers to the teasing look with a challenging look of her own. “What I’m hearing is, you need my help because you aren’t in the best shape.” Her elbows are leaning against the table.
“Oh, wow.” Y/N crosses her arms. “Your ego is still sky high.”
Amelia laughs, which Y/N giggle as well.
The surgery has been going on for six hours already, and the whole room is tense. Amelia and Addison are monitoring the baby’s health, while Y/N is rerouting the veins near the heart. The surgery is already nearing its end, but there’s still things to do.
Y/N lets out a sigh, shaking her hand to ease the pain in her wrist. It has stayed on one position for a long time. She can feel multiple pairs of eyes on the side of her head, there’s an audience in the viewing room. This is an once in a lifetime surgery after all. Double checking everything she has done, Y/N lifts her head to her friends. “Are his vitals good?” The two nod. “Alright, we’re ready to close.” She says shakily, not ready to relax just yet. But she can feel the relief coursing through the room.
The sutures closing the opening on the baby’s chest don’t take long, as the wound isn’t as big as on an adult. The moment the last suture is on its place, people in the viewing room start cheering, so do the doctors in the operation room. Addison and one other doctor take the baby to NICU, not before thanking Y/N though.
Walking out of the room, Y/N slumps down to a chair, taking off her scrub cap. Amelia sits down next to her. “Watching you work is seriously magnificent.”
Y/N laughs, “you’re being dramatic.”
“I’m not!” Amelia throws her arm around Y/N’s shoulders, giving her a side hug. “You’re incredibly and I love you.” Y/N turns to look at her. “Give me another chance? Go on a date with me?”
“Okay.”
“Yeah?” Amelia grins widely.
“Yeah.” Y/N smiles too, her heart beating a hundred miles. She isn’t sure if it’s from the surgery she just did, or the fact that Amelia is looking at her like she’s the only person she cares about.
Amelia nods, feeling like she just won the lottery. “I’ll pick you up at eight, wear something pretty.” She kisses her cheek before walking off, going straight to Addison to tell the good news.

hi! some of you might know me from the lcdp (@/22amillion) or the thick of it days (@/ferguswilliams), but for most of you i’ll introduce myself again: my name is emilitsa, i’m 22, i like collecting stamps and i want my tits chopped off. those are the headlines.
i’m raising money for top surgery. it’s something that i’ve wanted for years, and after my lovely boyfriend @skyforgesteel recently had top surgery himself it made me realise that it’s something that’s possible for me too, not just some nebulous, unknown ideal.
there is more info on the gofundme which i have linked below! but the headlines are that i plan to go abroad as the costs are a lot cheaper there. unfortunately i am a student so money was always going to be tight, and i love making life harder for myself by coveting expensive private surgeries. alas, this is something i really want, so i’ve accepted that i might need a bit of help.
i know times are hard for everyone at the moment, and i have no expectations that anyone should donate if they feel that they can’t! but i’d really appreciate it if you could share this post so it can reach as many people as possible :) if you’re a paypal head and would prefer using that then this is the link to my paypal - all funds donated will be added to the gofundme amount!
thank you so much if you’ve made it this far!

two appointments at least with the psychologist, then an endocrinologist appointment costing about the same, with follow up endo appointments for life, testosterone prescription for life, private top surgery, ouch my savings account
me: emails a private gender clinic knowing this specific practitioner has a 5+ month waiting list
me (2 months later): where appointment
#caique posts#praying that top surgery costs about €1500 like i've heard it does in some european countries because our chosen surgeon is moving to greec#mostly to be closer to family but it also enables him to charge much much lower than the £10k to £15k it costs now in england#ngl i was fully prepared to spend upwards to £15k on top surgery alone#so keeping the cost of our entire transition below £5k would be a miracle (minus the cost of a holiday to greece with my joyfriend)#but i am fully aware we are insanely privileged to have the money to transition this early with unsupportive parents#also debating whether to save up for private bottom surgery#NHS hystos can be done without the bureaucracy of GICs as it's a GP referral (praying they accept private advice to do a referral for it)#so we're not going to bother paying for that#but bottom surgery waiting lists are mental. the uk didn't have a single transmasc bottom surgeon for multiple years#not a single (NHS or private) transmasc bottom surgery was performed during the pandemic years#(not even moving from stage 1 to stage 2 etc. some guys had catheters in for *months* because there was nobody who could#perform urethral reconstruction on them. awful broken trans healthcare system here)#but patients were being continuously added to the waiting list for despite them being stagnant (like everything else trans-related here)#so the waiting lists are insane for both NHS and private patients#hoping to get that done abroad too especially if it's cheaper and the waiting lists are alright#just need to research some surgeons i guess#(maybe dr özer if she opens up to international patients. idk who else does it in europe)

🟨 HAMAS PLAN TO DIG UP BRITISH GRAVES, OZEMPIC PAUSED FOR WEIGHT LOSS, ZOOKEEPER ATTACKED BY CROC
ISRAEL REALTIME - Connecting to Israel in Realtime
▪️OZEMPIC IN ISRAEL.. Min. Of Health forbids sale of Ozempic (diabetes control and weight loss medication) for weight loss, due to availability limitations so that there will be enough for diabetics. Macabre informed their members they will only cover drugs that have been available for 2 years in Israel - but finances weight loss alternative Wegovy. The report notes that some Harel private ins. policies have covered the weight loss drugs for a NIS 184 per month co-pay. Recent reports from the US state that up to 10% of people have tried these drugs.
▪️ZOOKEEPER ALMOST EATEN BY CROCODILE.. Jerusalem zoo worker attacked in a closed enclosure by a crocodile, which jumped on him, bit him and dragged him into the water to drown him (which is how crocodiles attack prey in the wild). The worker fought back, multiple people came to save him, the animal was killed. The worker survived and is in surgery at the hospital - wishing him a speedy and complete recovery!
▪️HAMAS PLANNED TO DIG UP BRITISH GRAVES.. (World War 1 cemetery in Gaza, 3,217 British and Commonwealth servicemen are buried in the cemetery.). The Telegraph: Hamas intended to use the bodies of British soldiers buried in a military cemetery in the Gaza Strip as a tool to pressure London. The plan was discovered by IDF forces on January 31 in Khan Yunis.
🔹Bloggers involved in tracking vessel movements claim: within a few days, close to a third of US naval forces is or will be in the Middle East region.
⭕ LARGE EXPLOSION WESTERN GALILEE.. without alarm (sirens and interceptions ONLY occur when rockets/drones are headed for populated areas. Open areas, fields, farms, forest, no alarms, no interceptions.
🔸DEAL NEWS.. The Saudi channel "A-Sharq" reports on the American private proposal in Qatar, the center of which is the reduction of the presence of IDF forces in the Philadelphi border corridor, but not a withdrawal from it.
.. A permanent ceasefire will be discussed in prep for phase 2. If Hamas does not agree to the Israeli demands then the IDF will return to fighting.
.. Israel will retain the right to veto one hundred names of Palestinian security prisoners to be released.
.. The restoration of the Palestinian Authority to manage the Rafah crossing under Israeli supervision. (Hamas killed the PA people last time.)
.. Deporting a large number of the Palestinian prisoners abroad, particularly those who participated in the massacre.
.. Senior Hamas official Osama Hamdan on the ceasefire negotiations: What the Americans are proposing does not include a withdrawal from the Strip or a ceasefire. Until now we are only negotiating the criteria and not yet the list of prisoners to be released. The ceasefire must be guaranteed within the framework of clear criteria.
.. ANALYST: given that everyone (perhaps except the Americans) understands that this is a negotiation to appease the US, it is mainly the blame game. In other words: a situation where everyone wants to blame the explosion on the other side. All the actors prolong the imagined moment and the imagined becomes the essence that defines the situation and the current reality.

12 JULY 2024: William plays polo at a charity match. Kate and the children do not attend.
William confirms he will attend the Euro final on Sunday, 14 July 2024.
13 JULY 2024: Kate confirms she will attend the men's final at Wimbledon.
14 JULY 2024: Kate attends the Wimbledon men's final with Charlotte and Pippa.
William attends the Euro final with George to watch England lose to Spain.
15 JULY 2024: Katie Nicholl, Vanity Fair, "Kate Middleton Is Now “On Summer Break” After Wimbledon Appearance" [archive link]
Kate Middleton’s appearance at Wimbledon on Sunday delighted tennis and royal fans, but it may be some time before we see Kate in public again. According to royal sources, Prince William and Princess Kate are planning to spend most of the summer “below the radar” at their Norfolk bolthole now that Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis are out of school and Kate continues her course of preventative chemotherapy. While Kensington Palace would not give details on the family’s plans for the summer, a royal source confirmed that the Wales family are now “on summer break.” Sources close to the family say that although they will not be traveling abroad this summer while Kate undergoes treatment, they are excited to visit King Charles and Queen Camilla in Scotland next month. Sunday’s appearance at Wimbledon is likely to be Kate’s last official engagement until later this year.
16 JULY 2024: Will & Kate are looking to hire a new Assistant Private Secretary that can speak "conversational Welsh." [archive link]
Although the new hire would be responsible for Prince William and Catherine's public engagements in Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, the future King and Queen want their new Assistant Private Secretary to specifically focus on Wales and believe it is "essential" that they speak conversational Welsh. [...] Almost two years after taking on their Wales titles, and after a testing year so far with The Princess' major abdominal surgery and cancer diagnosis, it appears Prince William and Catherine are driving forward with their plans, seeking "specific expertise on Welsh communities, affairs, government, and business". Handled by the largest executive search firm in the United Kingdom, Odgers Berndtson has posted a job advert for an Assistant Private Secretary ("APS"), Wales & UK on behalf of Kensington Palace.
18 JULY 2024: The attempted Donald Trump assassin had searched for images of Kate according to investigation.
23 JULY 2024: William announces more patronages. Kate does not announce any new patronages.
24 JULY 2024: Victoria Ward, The Telegraph, "Prince William refuses to reveal how much tax he pays." [archive link]
The Prince of Wales has chosen not to reveal how much tax he pays on the private income he receives from his vast property portfolio, marking a notable change in approach from when his father was heir to the throne. Prince William’s Duchy of Cornwall estate, the billion-pound business empire he inherited on the death of his grandmother, Elizabeth II, generated profits of £23.6 million in the last financial year. He is understood to pay income tax on the full amount, less household costs, which have also not been disclosed.
26 JULY 2024: Robert Jobson's book excerpt in The Daily Mail, "How the Queen and Charles clashed with William after he refused to stop flying his young family around Britain in his helicopter." [archive link]
One courtier explained: 'The King's relationship with both his sons has been difficult over the years. Even now he is King, with the Prince of Wales, there can be differences of opinion and tensions. Of course, they love each other, but they clash, and sometimes William needs handling with kid gloves.' Another courtier confirmed: 'You have to check first which way the wind is blowing with the prince. They don't see eye to eye on several issues, but why should they? [Prince William's] moment in the top job will come — perhaps he would do well to remember it is not yet. This is His Majesty's time.' When he loses his temper, William is a bit of a shouter — and his father tends to give as good as he gets. The difference these days is that their arguments usually blow over quite quickly. One recent source of disagreement is William's stubborn refusal to take his father's advice on safeguarding the succession. Earlier this year, the King had raised concerns with his son about the wisdom of William using his helicopter to fly his entire family around the country.
27 JULY 2024: People magazine (US), "Prince William and King Charles Clashed Over Use of Helicopter for Kate Middleton and Their Children, New Book Claims". [archive link]
According to Robert Jobson's soon-to-be-released biography, Catherine, The Princess of Wales, the King, 75, “raised concerns” with William, 42, over his helicopter use with Kate Middleton and their children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, that sparked a tense disagreement between the pair. In an excerpt from Jobson’s book, per The Daily Mail, King Charles brought up his worries on the matter after coming to terms with his mortality following his cancer diagnosis, which was announced in February. The King even presented experienced pilot William with “a formal document acknowledging the risks involved and taking full responsibility for his actions” amid their dispute, the new book claims. Charles’ concerns echoed that of his late mother Queen Elizabeth, who previously requested William not fly with his family on a helicopter from Kensington Palace to his former residence of Anmer Hall in Norfolk, which is a 115-mile journey, according to Robson. [...] It is also understood that the palace has fully evaluated the risk of the family flying together, compared with implementing a policy where separate travel assets are provided for one or more members of The Prince and Princess of Wales’ family.
30 JULY 2024: The Prince's Trust announces the date for its annual Christmas Carol concert, 09 December 2024.
Hilary Rose, The Times, posts an article about William van Cutsem, friend of Prince William and recently appointed as an adviser to the Duchy of Cornwall. [archive link]
The Earthshot Prize tweets about their third annual Earthshot Prize Innovation Summit, which mentions no commitment by William to attend.
03 AUGUST 2024: Daily Mail's Natasha Livingstone
07 AUGUST 2024: Tom Sykes, The Daily Beast, "Princess Kate Will Focus on Her Kids After ‘Brush With Mortality’: Sources" [archive link]
It is thought the smaller Wales family are unlikely to travel this year to Tresco, a small island off the coast of Cornwall, where they have often spent summer holidays. However, The Daily Beast has been told that the couple are aiming to be in Balmoral either for the opening of the grouse-shooting season on Aug. 12 or shortly thereafter. William and Kate both shoot. One friend of the couple told The Daily Beast: “Kate has been exceptionally open and honest about her health. Making two appearances before the summer break, at Wimbledon and Trooping the Colour, was a clear signal that she is doing well. That is what we are hearing privately as well—it’s not over but there is lots of optimism, lots of positivity.” [...] Another source, a Buckingham Palace insider, said they understood there was no sense that Kate was expected to be back on duty for the traditionally busy period of royal engagements that kicks off in the first week of September and runs through to Christmas.
11 AUGUST 2024: William & Kate appear for less than ten seconds in a video message for Team GB with multiple celebrity appearances, after the end of the Olympics.
13 AUGUST 2024: Lucie Heath writes about the Duchy of Cornwall.
The Duchy of Cornwall’s largest single landholding is 27,300 hectares on Dartmoor, which accounts for approximately one third of the National Park. Last year the Government published an independent review of Dartmoor, which concluded the landscape was “not in a good state”. Dr Alexander Lees, a biodiversity expert at Manchester Metropolitan University, said the Duchy of Cornwall has a big part to play in turning things around at Dartmoor and other sites it owns. “As one of Britain’s biggest landowners, the Duchy of Cornwall is in a position of strength to combat the entwined biodiversity and climate crises. However, massive additional investment in conservation is needed across these landholdings,” he said. Dr Lee said: “clearly there is a need to generate income to leverage restoration and rewilding across the estate”, but added it is “questionable” that some of this income comes from a car dealership when the Duchy has promoted reduced car use through its flagship Poundbury housing estate in Dorset.
14 AUGUST 2024: Rebecca English, Daily Mail, "Why Kate's year has been tougher than anyone realises - and why she's starting to glow again." [archive link]
What most will not appreciate is that Catherine had actually been unwell for some time in the run up to her initial abdominal surgery in January (further details of which have not been made public yet by Kensington Palace). It was only after that ‘planned’ operation, of course, which left her in hospital for two weeks, that her cancer was discovered.
The Daily Beast rehashes the "exclusives" from the Daily Mail.
16 AUGUST 2024: Dan Wootton reiterates that Kate may "NEVER" return to full-time royal duties.
Tusk Trust CEO says William wants to introduce his children to Africa.
"He is very knowledgeable and passionate about conservation and the environment,” Mayhew said. “He has a particular love for Africa. He has been incredibly supportive as our patron and proactive in supporting us. We find ourselves incredibly lucky.” Mayhew plans to meet up with Prince William in Cape Town, South Africa, when the Prince of Wales hosts the fourth annual Earthshot Prize Awards there in November. Soon enough, the Prince of Wales will want to introduce his three children — Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis — to the continent, Mayhew said. “I think it won’t be long before, you know, he will want to introduce them to Africa,” he said.
17 AUGUST 2024: Natasha Anderson, Daily Mail, reports on how Will, Kate, George, Charlotte, and Louis, spent the day at a large Nerf battle. [archive link]
The Royal family had a bit of a rumble last weekend as the Prince and Princess of Wales faced off against their children in a Nerf battle. Prince George, 11, Princes Charlotte, nine, and six-year-old Prince Louis joined in the festivities at the Gone Wild Festival at Holkham Hall, Norfolk for a high-intensity Nerf war with toy guns and smoke bombs. Excitable and 'unforgettable' Louis ran around yelling 'Nerf or nothing, let's do this!', according to Norfolk Nerf Parties boss Georgina Barron. The Princess of Wales, who has been battling cancer, even 'grabbed a Nerf gun, ran around, and played stuck in the mud with her kids', Ms Barron added, noting that hosting the family was the 'biggest honour' and 'unforgettable'. Ms Barron said the royals, who were not photographed at the event, had wanted to enjoy a 'wholesome family day like any other normal family'. Kensington Palace has been approached for comment.
19 AUGUST 2024: People magazine (US), story about who's who in the Middleton family.
The Mirror, "Kate Middleton's 'tough' side and unlikely inspiration for 'ambitious' plans" [archive link]
The Princess of Wales has rapidly ascended the Royal ranks, becoming a favourite among the Royal Family due to her sense of humour and evident respect for her role. Even during her cancer treatment, she has displayed nothing but strength and determination. Kate, once shy and reserved, has transformed into a confident, playful, and occasionally assertive figure, commanding as much public respect as King Charles or Prince William could ever wish for. This trust that the King places in his "darling daughter-in-law" reportedly leads to her frequently being asked for her opinion due to her relatability.
20 AUGUST 2024: "Princess Charlotte, Lady Louise and the Duchess of Edinburgh go on special trip" [archive link]
Princess Charlotte, Lady Louise and Sophie, the Duchess of Edinburgh went on a special shopping trip in London, according to a source. Charlotte has a good relationship with her great-aunt and the two royals were joined by Sophie's daughter Louise during a trip to Chelsea. The royals headed to the Peter Jones store on King's Road which is said to be one of Charlotte's favourite stores. A source told The Sun: "There is a really warm connection between Sophie and her great-niece, which is very touching."
21 AUGUST 2024: Tom Sykes, The Daily Beast, "Princes William and Harry May Only Reunite at King Charles’ Funeral: Source" [archive link]
Asked about the reports that Harry would not be invited to William’s coronation, the source said: “I believe it 100 percent. Why would William and Kate want all the distraction and circus that his presence would bring? I suspect that William will see Harry one more time in his life in the flesh—at their father’s funeral.” A former Buckingham Palace staffer told The Daily Beast: “Planning for William’s coronation is well underway, and as I understand it there are no plans to invite Harry. It’s hardly surprising when you look at how poisoned the well has become.”
US Weekly (USA) has cover story on William & Camilla, with sourcing from Christopher Andersen's book.
23 AUGUST 2024: People magazine (US), "Prince William's Return to Work Plans Revealed After Summer Break with Kate Middleton and Their Kids" [archive link]
On Aug. 22, Kensington Palace announced that the Prince of Wales, 42, will visit the Homelessness: Reframed exhibit at the Saatchi Gallery in London on Sept. 5. The display highlights the complexities of homelessness across the U.K. and offers the public an opportunity to better understand the stories of individuals who have been affected. Homelessness: Reframed is a collaboration between Prince William's Homewards program, which he launched with the Royal Foundation in June 2023 to help end homelessness for good, the Saatchi Gallery and the Eleven Eleven Foundation. The presentation opened on Aug. 7, and Prince William will visit before it closes on Sept. 20.
25 AUGUST 2024: Kate seen in a car on the way to church 'at Crathie Kirk, Balmoral, Scotland.
Daily Mail, "Inside Kate's slow and steady return to public life: How the Princess of Wales has won over the nation's hearts with appearances at Trooping the Colour, Wimbledon and Crathie Kirk following cancer diagnosis" [archive link]
Her appearance had been in doubt after she missed the final Trooping rehearsal the weekend prior to the celebration, with confirmation that she would attend only given at 6pm the evening before. [...] And now, Kate has been seen in public for the third time since revealing that she has cancer - just two weeks after her video message praising Team GB. The royal appeared in high spirits as she was pictured arriving for Sunday service with her husband William at Crathie Kirk today. William drove the car, smiling as he chatted with his wife and opting for a navy blue suit for the occasion. The Princess sported the same hat she donned last year for a Sunday church service, when she donned a beige tartan Marlborough trench coat from Holland Cooper with dark brown wool felt fedora with feathers.
28 AUGUST 2024: The Daily Mail's royal editor, Rebecca English, confirms that William "never planned to" attend the Earthshot Prize Innovation Summit in September 2024.
29 AUGUST 2024: Matt Wilkinson, The Sun, reports that both William and Harry attended their uncle's funeral in Norfolk, "Warring Prince William and Harry REUNITE at their uncle’s funeral after Duke of Sussex makes secret dash to UK" [archive link]
The Duke of Sussex, 39, flew from his US home to join his brother, 42, at the service for Lord Robert Fellowes. A local in Snettisham, Norfolk, said: “We never saw them speak to each other and they kept their distance.” The princes both “discreetly” attended the funeral for Lord Fellowes — who was their mother Diana’s brother-in-law. They were said to have kept their distance from each other and sat at the back of the church. Sources close to US-based Harry had previously claimed he would not attend. But a close family friend said they were “very happy to confirm both princes were there”. Another source told how they only saw them at the end of the service at St Mary’s Church. They said: “I didn’t know they were there. They arrived very discreetly.” One local said: “William and Harry were both there but we never saw them speak to each other and they were keeping their distance.”

Rarepair Week Day 3: Letters
Note: Spoilers ahead for season 3.
AO3 Link: Waiting for your Letter - Turtle_The_Bean - Criminal Case (Video Game) [Archive of Our Own]
Another day, another empty letterbox.
Rupert checked his calendar. He wasn’t used to waiting this long for a letter. At this point, it had been several weeks since he sent his last letter. He knew it wasn’t an issue with the postal service; his colleagues had been receiving letters from friends and family abroad with no problem. He would usually pass it off as his boyfriend being busy, but that seemed unlikely at this point. He hadn’t taken this long to write before, and it wasn’t like the Bureau had too much work for him. Rupert had even seen his colleagues on the news, though Armand was nowhere to be seen in the photos and videos.
He closed the letterbox and was about to head up to his apartment when a familiar hand was placed on his shoulder.
“Yo, Rupert,” Amir Devani, Rupert’s apprentice, smiled at the older man as he turned around, “One of David and Alex’s old coworkers is here. She used to work for the Bureau; isn’t that awesome? You should join us.”
Once Rupert heard the Bureau being mentioned, he instantly agreed to meet her. He needed answers as to why Armand wasn’t answering his letters. There was no guarantee she would know anything about what was going on with him, but it was worth a shot.
---
The majority of the Grimsborough Police Department was crowded around Grace, asking her a flurry of questions regarding her work at the Bureau. If Rupert wanted to get closer to her, he knew he would have to wait.
However, his patience was growing thin. He needed to know what was going on with Armand. He needed to know if he was still alive or even just busy with work or travel. He silently begged for an opening, a way for him to get close enough to ask her some questions.
“GRACE!” Amir called out, “I GOT A FRIEND HERE WHO WANTS TO MEET YOU!”
Grace got off her seat and walked over to Rupert. He started mentally preparing himself to ask her the question. He just needed a few words. He couldn’t mess this up.
“I hoped you’d be back, Amir.” Grace smiled warmly at the lab assistant.
“Yeah, I just need to get old Rupert here out of his apartment.” Amir nudged his mentor playfully.
“Good afternoon, Miss Delaney,” Rupert extended a hand to shake, “I’d like to ask you a question about a person who works at the Bureau if you don’t mind.”
It was a bit wordier than he had intended, but at least he had gotten his point across.
“Oh, well, out of what I know, I’m the only one from Grimsborough. There was a member from England, but I doubt you’d have any interest in a teenager.” Grace explained, trying to figure out who he was talking about on her own.
“He’s not from England. He’s Swiss, actually. His name is Armand Dupont. Would you happen to know how he’s doing right now? Even where he is at the moment?”
“Armand Dupont…” Grace’s face fell upon hearing the name, “Rupert, I am so sorry.”
Don’t.
“It may be best for us to talk about this in private.”
“No, it’s alright.” Please, don’t say it.
“Alright, if you say so…”
Please, it can’t be.
“I’m sorry, Rupert, but Dupont…Armand…passed away.”
No.
“He was shot in the chest during a confrontation with a criminal. They managed to remove the bullet, but his body couldn’t take the surgery.”
No.
“He died the same night we accepted the Nobel Peace Prize. I wish he could’ve been there with us, but…”
No. No! NO!
“Thank you for the information, Miss Delaney,” Rupert said, brushing past everyone else as he left the room.
Once he left the room, Rupert felt as though the floodgates were about to burst. He rushed himself somewhere private, his laboratory and closed the door before collapsing to the ground. Tears started flooding down his face as he curled up in a ball on the floor.
He couldn’t believe this. It couldn’t be true. His love couldn’t be dead.
Was it wrong that he didn’t want to believe that anything was real anymore?
---
How long had he been on this floor?
Rupert didn’t know how long he had been crying on the floor. For all he knew, it could be anywhere between five minutes and five hours. He couldn’t get up. His legs felt like jelly anytime he tried. Even using the table didn’t help. He just kept falling back down to the floor. It was as though he was trying to climb his way out of a hole, but he kept sliding back down to the bottom.
He still couldn’t believe the news. He still didn’t want to believe the news.
Did he have any choice?
A knock at the laboratory door. He didn’t have the strength to open it himself.
“Come in.” He called out, not bothering to try to get up again.
The creak of the door and then the clicking of heels filled the room as Grace approached him.
“Sorry to bother you.” She began, her face solemn.
“It’s fine; I’ve just been sitting on the floor for…I’ll be honest, I have no clue how long it’s been now.” He sighed, burying his head in his hands.
“I just thought I’d find you to give you this.”
Rupert looked up to see that Grace was handing him a folded-up piece of paper. He took it from her, unsure if he should unfold it.
“I found it when we were clearing out Dupont’s library. I thought the address seemed familiar, so I decided to keep it on me in case. It seemed important.”
“Thank you, Miss Delaney,” Rupert gave her a weak smile, “I mean it. Thank you.”
“Of course. Feel free to call me if you need anything else.”
Rupert nodded as he watched her leave his laboratory. He finally mustered up the strength to pull himself up onto one of the chairs in his lab. He got up, turned on one of the table lamps and took a deep breath before unfolding the letter.
My dearest Rupert,
I’m writing to inform you that I have received your last letter. However, there is more I wish to tell you.
I miss you. I have this horrible feeling that I may never see you again, but given that we will be in America sometime soon, I hope to have the opportunity to see you again. I miss sitting next to you as we read books and occasionally told each other about our interests.
Even if we never meet again, I hope that you know that I love you.
The letter ended there. Incomplete, but even just seeing the handwriting again made Rupert tear up.
He had been so afraid – afraid that Armand had fallen out of love with him, afraid that he had become too busy for him, afraid that losing his love was going to be the same as him losing his life.
In actuality, his love was alive. Sure, he had physically passed away, but his spirit lived on in this letter.
A letter he would cherish for the rest of his life.

Update - 04/06/24
I should probably mention I was discharged from hospital on Friday. I’m now in supported accommodation.
Discharge was really sudden. I was given no notice and also no care plan. I was referred to someone from ‘the key working service’ (external to the hospital) who I’d been seeing for the past few months. She’d been advocating for me, speaking up against the consultant when he was being rude and ignorant etc. (thank goodness I’m still under 25 and autistic because that was the criteria for referral to her and I don’t know what I would have done without her. Informal patients aren’t allowed to access the actual advocacy service). She told the doctors I needed notice, a gradual transition to the new house and that I needed to have a care plan in place and input from the ED service before I was discharged. They agreed, but the moment she went on holiday they went ahead and booted me out. I broke down in the meeting and the hospital staff made me go to the de-escalation room so I could cry without disturbing anyone. They said they’d come and talk to me afterwards but they didn’t as usual.
The past few days have been messy and overwhelming. The accommodation and my parents have been doing their best but nothing is organised and the staff don’t seem to know much about eating disorders (like what is really triggering). My key worker came to see me today as she’s back from abroad and she’s very cross about what’s happened.
We tried to get a GP appointment today because I have some issues but the hospital didn’t send a discharge letter to the GP surgery so they are refusing to see me. Bleurgh. I’m also on waiting lists to see a pain clinic and dermatology. It seems I will be waiting for over a year for both. I’ve been wondering if I should go private for some things because I’m desperate but I don’t know if I can really afford it. I guess I technically could but I don’t want to end up in financial difficulty (I owe the university money and need money to live on and for some unknown reason my PIP was stopped a while ago and my UC halved). Bleurgh again.
At least I am now somewhere quiet that isn’t full of people who seem to hate me and has comfortable furniture that doesn’t smell of urine.

I wish I didn't go to college immediately after high school and take in private loans.
I wish I didn't feel like I had to get a top surgery and pay through my mom to avoid another loan.
I wish I understood how to get a job that makes enough money to move out.
I wish I didn't have to learn how to shut my mouth around my pro-Trump dad.
I wish I could trust my words to sound articulate, and interesting.
I'd like to live abroad one day.
But I'm patient. Maybe I'm spoiled too. Is it the autism? That I couldn't comprehend loans and adulthood. . I'm patient though so adulthood will end one day, I am good at waiting.

MBBS and MD/MS Admissions in India: Your Pathway to a Medical Career
India is one of the most sought-after destinations for medical education, particularly MBBS and postgraduate medical studies like MD/MS. With a vast array of medical colleges, advanced infrastructure, and affordable tuition fees, India attracts students from across the globe, especially through NRI and management quota admissions. This guide provides an overview of the MBBS and postgraduate medical study opportunities in India, focusing on MD/MS admission, NEET PG, NRI quota, and management quota admissions.
1. MD/MS Admission in India
MD (Doctor of Medicine) and MS (Master of Surgery) are postgraduate degrees that allow MBBS graduates to specialize in their chosen medical fields. Admission to these programs in India is primarily based on NEET PG scores, a national-level examination that all aspiring postgraduate medical students must take.
Eligibility for MD/MS Admission
Completion of an MBBS degree from a recognized medical college.
Completion of a 12-month rotating internship.
A valid NEET PG score, which determines eligibility for admission into top medical colleges.
India has several prestigious medical colleges like AIIMS, JIPMER, and private institutions where students can apply for MD/MS courses. The quality of education, research facilities, and clinical exposure offered by these institutions makes them highly desirable.
2. NEET PG Admission in India
The NEET PG (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Postgraduate) is the gateway for students looking to pursue MD/MS in India. Conducted annually by the National Board of Examinations (NBE), NEET PG is essential for admission to both government and private medical colleges.
NEET PG Admission Process
Register: Candidates must register for NEET PG through the official NBE website.
Appear for the Exam: The exam tests candidates on various medical subjects studied during the MBBS program.
Counseling: Based on the scores obtained, students participate in counseling sessions where seats are allotted in different medical colleges.
Allotment of Seats: After counseling, candidates are granted admission into MD/MS programs in their preferred colleges based on their rank and availability of seats.
NEET PG opens doors to a wide array of specialties in medicine, offering students the opportunity to specialize in their fields of interest.
3. NRI Quota Admission in India
For foreign students or Indian nationals residing abroad, India offers NRI quota admissions in various medical colleges. NRI quota seats are reserved for students who meet specific criteria, such as holding an NRI status or sponsorship by a relative who is an NRI.
Benefits of NRI Quota Admission
Increased chance of securing admission in reputed medical colleges without intense competition.
The option to study at top institutions without having to participate in the general merit list.
Access to world-class medical education in India at affordable rates compared to other countries.
NRI quota admissions are particularly beneficial for those looking to bypass the fiercely competitive general admission process in India.
4. NRI Quota Admission in MBBS
MBBS is one of the most sought-after undergraduate medical programs in India, and NRI quota admissions offer an excellent pathway for overseas students to enroll in Indian medical colleges. Every year, a certain number of MBBS seats are allocated for NRI students in both government and private medical colleges.
Application Process for NRI Quota Admission in MBBS
Eligibility: Applicants must have completed 12 years of schooling, preferably with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as core subjects.
NEET UG Scores: NRI candidates are required to appear for NEET UG and score a minimum qualifying percentile to be eligible for admission.
Seat Allocation: NRI seats are allotted through a centralized counseling process conducted by the Medical Council of India (MCI) and respective state bodies.
The NRI quota significantly eases the admission process for foreign nationals, offering them access to India’s top medical education institutions.
5. Management Quota Admission in MD/MS
Medical colleges in India also offer management quota admissions for postgraduate courses like MD and MS. Management quota seats are usually available in private medical colleges, and the selection process is relatively more flexible compared to government institutions.
Eligibility for Management Quota Admission in MD/MS
A valid MBBS degree from a recognized university.
Completion of the mandatory internship.
NEET PG qualification is typically required, but the cutoff is often lower for management quota seats.
Management quota admission offers students an alternative route to secure their seats in top medical colleges, especially if their NEET PG rank does not meet the general or state quota criteria.

Leave those kids alone
This is over in Europe but it's great news on the Transgender front
Leaving them kids alone
Probably the best news this week is that the Health Secretary, Victoria Atkins, has taken emergency measures to ban private prescriptions of puberty blockers for gender distressed children.
Just before the dissolution of parliament, the government introduced new regulations to ban private clinics, whether in the UK or abroad, from prescribing puberty blockers for minors under 18.
These are emergency measures, effective for three months, and it will be up to the next government to decide whether to extend the legislation. (Should the Labour Party win the general election, Shadow Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, Wes Streeting, has already stated that the party would fully implement the Cass review and he has indicated a commitment to cracking down on private gender clinics.)
In a separate piece of legislation applying to England, Wales and Scotland, ‘indefinite restrictions’ are placed on GPs prescribing puberty blockers.
In similar news from across The Channel, the French Senate has voted to adopt a bill which will tightly regulate the medicalisation of gender distressed children. ‘Gender reassignment’ treatment - cross sex hormones and surgery - for minors will be banned. The provision of puberty blockers will be restricted to specialist centres and only prescribed following a minimum period of two years after the first consultation.
The bill now progresses to the French National Assembly.
It's about time we all start waking up. 2024 is the year all liars, criminals, and reprobates (Trump) will be exposed and served justice.

I LOOKED AT CARLOS’ BACK STORY FOR THE FIRST TIME AND IM BAWLING!!!
Born of mixed Latin American and indigenous ancestry, Carlos Oliveira was raised in the midst of the violence and poverty of an unnamed nation in South America. The third youngest of seven brothers, two of his elder siblings had already been killed in street violence by the time Carlos was born. When Carlos was only five, a group of armed teenagers assaulted his family at gunpoint, forcing them to line up against a wall. The gang said they wanted revenge for a friend of theirs whom Pedro (the oldest of the living siblings) had shot. So, they shot his brother, Tonio, in the head and vanished into the morning light.
When Carlos was seven, he held a shotgun for the first time and attempted to become a thief to provide for his family. Carlos went out of his way to avoid shooting anyone and miraculously succeeded. At age ten, he attempted to raid a farm, only to be caught by a group of nationalist paramilitaries who intended to kill the boy. Carlos was rescued by a member of a local communist liberation front. Carlos soon joined the armed revolutionaries, as he believed they were the only ones capable and willing to help the poor and vulnerable. From then on, he trained rigorously, learning how to handle firearms, kill enemy combatants and survive in the wilderness. A decade later, Carlos had grown up to become an elite guerrilla fighter, known and respected for his selfless courage, always throwing himself in the middle of danger, as well as his strong moral compass and warm-hearted playful attitude.
In the mid-90s, the state began a large-scale operation to eliminate the rebel forces, Oliveira was one of those who fiercely fought to the end. However, the government-backed militias were well-funded and well-equipped, quickly overwhelming the guerilla fighters. In the end, everyone in Carlos' organization had been captured and killed. However, because he had become one of their leading figures, Carlos’ capture was well known and he was sentenced to public execution. That’s when the Umbrella Corporation took notice of Oliveira, particularly his reputation as a competent, skilled and loyal solider, and purchased his freedom from the government.
Afterwards, a scout for the company approached Oliveira, offering him a contract to join their private military outfit in exchange for a new start abroad. With most of his friends and family now dead, the despondent Carlos accepted, becoming the youngest soldier in the unit. His expertise in heavy weaponry and vehicle maintenance soon made him a valuable asset. Oliveira also befriended Murphy Seeker, who joined around the same time, and some time later, he paid for plastic surgery to alter his face.
After the events in Raccoon City, Oliveira and Valentine went to a hotel bar located somewhere on the coast of the United States and had a drink before saying goodbye. Later, Oliveira escaped the U.S. via Mexico, and he returned to South America to reside there. He continued to harbor anger towards Umbrella.
