What does the word truther mean. Does it mean you believe in it/think it's real or the opposite?

hi yeah the word "truther" is used to refer to someone who believes in a specific thing in a way that indicates that they do not believe in that specific thing and denotes those who do as having a wildly incorrect belief. It stems from conspiracy theories pretty directly, implying that those who believe the thing are involved in a conspiracy. The American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language defines "truther" as:

"One who believes that the government or another powerful agency is conspiring to conceal the truth about its role in an event such as an assassination or an act of terrorism [...]"

So breaking this down, by referring to someone advocating for a certain type of oppressed people as an "xyz truther", one is indicating that this oppression is in fact a conspiracy theory not to be trusted. Denoting a specific type of transphobia as a conspiracy is quite frankly disturbing and I'm sick of seeing people perpetuating more and more lateral aggression as trans people of all stripes come further under fire these days.

Welp had some Events™ happen and we've gotta adjust our educated guess on dissociative disorder varients. Our entire host subsystem got pushed entirely out of front for someone else and this isn't exactly the first time it's happened, just the first time it's been so blatantly confirmed. P-DID just doesn't seem to fit anymore. DID (complex DID specifically, though we know thats a community term) seems to be most accurate, considering the menagerie of hundreds of facets, fragments, and full headmates of different types we have around here, along with the layers and locked areas of our massive headspace. Honestly it's probably better this way, learning to drop out of front will help us stay balanced and safe. It'll be nice once we can actually access headspace while someone else is in front. That level of trust and security will be an ease of burdens on our back.
