Here's some info about the upcoming AiPri Switch game (to be released on December 5th, 2024) as written in the Amazon listing:

The control scheme has been 'rearranged' so that children can easily play the amusement game Himitsu no AiPri's "Live Game" from home. Four people can play at once, so you can enjoy it with your family or friends. The songs included are the following nine: P.O.P.P.Y, Secret Dream, Stand Get Up, Muteki DUO Energy, Hikari no Kotoba, We're the World, Never Give Up Lover, GIRA GIRA STAR, Zenryoku Joshikakumei! You can also enjoy the songs and the live visuals without playing the game (PV Mode).

And then there's a bunch of minigames/party games based on specific episodes.

I could be wrong, but from the wording, it sounds like those are the only nine songs in the game. It's not a lot, but they aren't gonna stuff it with arcade-only songs for once? That's a surprise.

It's also interesting that AiPri of all series is getting a console game, considering it translates the least well. By which I mean, card sliding is impossible, so the rhythm game is going to be completely different. (From the screenshots and the wording, it looks super simple.)

Anyway, I would recommend preordering this game if you really like AiPri and would enjoy spending time with the characters. I do not think it is going to be a good representation of/replacement for the arcade game and it definitely doesn't look like you'll be able to make your own character. But, like I said, if you really like the AiPri characters, go for it!

(I personally don't think it's worth paying full price for because I imagine this game is going to be dumped into the discount bin in a month.)

I think in a year we'll look back at our time with Idol Land and think of it like a weird dream. A time when there wasn't a Pretty Series show announced and everything was in limbo. A time where King of Prism was a dead franchise. A time when songs were performed at Pretty Series live shows that wouldn't premier in the anime for years. The game teaser in every single Pretty Series announcement only for it to be delayed again. The YEARS long gap between episodes 2 and 3. The DISASTROUS launch. When we realized it was just a reskinned version of the switch game. Or when we discovered that it was mostly made by some unrelated dev who had only made one failed mobile otome game before Idol Land.

The Pretty Series' pivot to focusing on AiPri & KinPri instead of Idol Land & DanPri makes the past few years of Idol Land content, and the past less than a year of Idol Land actually being out, feel like an illusion.

It's frustrating because the concept of a PriPara mobile game sounds fantastic! When I play games like SIF2 or Idolish7 or whatever I think about what could have been. Was it money problems? or time problems? Or some combination of both. Regardless I can't help but yearn for a game with a budget that this franchise deserves.

And the web anime was great! But only 12 episodes, and its own budget problems, plus the games delay keeping it finished and in limbo for 2 years! (+ the lack of any western fansubs picking it up, seriously how is do we still only have subs for up to episode 6) meant that it never got the place in the spotlight it deserved. Some people speculated that it was meant to air on TV because the episodes are formatted as such, but with AiPri starting in that slot the same month the show is ending that doesn't seem to be true.

It's hard to say where PriPara is going from here. It's the series 10th anniversary and the arcade game is being shuttered to push players towards AiPri Verse instead. Idol Land's anime finale is going to air to little applause because it's stuck on an app with less than 20,000 active users, and in the same month as the launch of the new series that's slated to be a real PreCure competitor.

Idol Land's EOS hasn't been announced yet, but the missing Nino birthday coord, the April monthly update with entirely rerun coords, and the fact that Idol Land is getting very VERY close to running out of content from the switch game. Well, if not EOS I expect this game to go into maintenance mode pretty soon.

Yeah idk what my point here was exactly, but man Idol Land really was a blur. Sometimes I think we understate exactly how inexperienced the devs really were. The game doesn't have any type of Google Play integration, and when the game launched the account recovery only lasted 15 minutes. I have a newer phone and the game isn't compatible with my hole punch front camera. There's just a black bar there. I only have this problem with older games, anything made in the last 4 years doesn't have this problem except for Idol Land. I honestly think the lack of region locking is because the dev doesn't know how to turn it on. Someone on discord reported that they've been buying gold, and then contacting Google and asking for a Play Store refund. It's worked multiple times and they are not banned. How is a ban for chargebacks not something they implemented day one. Also this game doesn't have any deals or discounts, ever. It's hard to believe that, like every game I've ever played has a buy two and get 50% off the second one bundle. But it's like the devs don't know how to implement anything past basic gacha mechanics. I could also ramble about how expensive the prices are, but I've done it before I won't do it again. Also the photo room, it's implemented pretty badly. You upload a photo for the background and it crops it weird and squishes it and makes it blurry. I didn't know this at launch because it was a paid feature for like six months. The pass itself was a horrible value unless you were buying it specifically to get the episodes early, you got exactly how the amount of gold you paid for. Why not just buy the gold then. But they either realized that, or were preparing for end of service; because they took it down. I'm rambling about things the devs messed up but I haven't even mentioned the first three months of the game. There's been so many points in this game's history where playing a promise was borderline impossible for one reason or another. This game didn't feel finished until that November update that included immediate promises. God there's so much more. The photo competitions just being about editing for some reason. Also they went away, so clearly those didn't work. The amount of coords they've implemented that were broken in some way. Sometimes it was the wrong coord entirely, sometimes the cylume didn't work. It's like the dev team is so small that there's no QA people. Also on that note, Open Dream Land was just fixed in the mid March update. The game went more than 6 months where one of its two unique charts was off sync. Also remember the voice bug, that lasted forever.

I'm sorry I just started rambling lmao. This is the problem when I write posts with speech to text, I say way too much. Ultimately I enjoyed my time with Idol Land, but it's existence feels surreal. Especially because 80% of the features from this game I can turn on my switch after end of service and play, and it's free because I already paid once and never have to pay again. I even have Waku Waku O'Clock on Switch. One day, probably soon from the way things are going, I'm going to wake up and not be able to play Idol Land on my phone ever again. But instead of reminiscing of this game, I will think about the game that could have been if Idol Land got as much love as Prism Rush did.

OH WE ARE SO BACK!!!

(My thoughts on the new "Aikatsu Academy" Teaser Trailers and the future of Aikatsu)

First of all, YIPPEE!!!! THIS LOOKS AMAZING!!!

Just some quick thoughts on Planet before diving into Academy. Aikatsu Planet, while a great experiment did not keep me interested or invested. And no, it wasn't the fact it had live action acting a la the Girls x Heroine series. They had stripped what made the original Aikatsu so special, which was the focus of different types of idols journeying together. Idol Activities, the whole namesake of the series. In turn, they were trying so hard to beat and become their competition in the idol anime sphere, Pripara. They focused too hard on the "virtual idol secret", making it too difficult for themselves in trying to juggle the new Dressia system lore on top of Mao's idol journey.

Now this new Aikatsu series seems to be taking us back to our roots, idols going to school and training to become the top. They brought back the old idol types as seen from one scene in the trailer, the girls' idol school life, and the most interesting thing I've seen yet, no sign of the aikatsu card system. There was a scene where the girls were on a stage in, what I assume is their school dress coords, with cardboard sunflowers. If Aikatsu is a linear time-line, this is the start. On top of that we see the girls are setting up to be streamers in one scene, a great way to tie modern day virtual idol content rather making a magical vtuber excuse.

Now the girls themselves. Oh my gosh, this Bun is hopping up and down. While we do get an Aikatsu with our typical main Pink Cute type lead, we have a Gothic cool type and Pop Type as part of the main cast. It really takes me back to the Akari Gen set up in the original Aikatsu. Season 3 and 4 were some of my favorite seasons of the whole franchise. I don't know what's to come, but I am very hopeful.

There doesn't seem to be an Aikatsu arcade or app game on the horizon, I might be wrong and they could go 180 and surprise me. But as far as I'm concerned, this series seems to be targeting the people who grew up with Aikatsu. After all, Aikatsu is a decade old franchise as of writing this post. People really loved the Aikatsu 10th anniversary movie, so to me, I think Bandai Namco are listening to what their aikatsu consumers are wanting out of this franchise.

All in all, I have very high expectations on this new series. I'm ready to see what Aikatsu Acadmy has in store. 🩷♦️♣️🐇

Ah I can’t believe Pripara is really 10 years old… oh god I’m so old ;-;

I remember when the anime first premiered I remember it vividly I was in the car stuck in traffic coming back from watching forth of July fire works in SF (I know what a terrible idea) I had no idea what they were saying there were no subtitles after all. all I know it that I loved it and I wanted more.

Fun fact the day Pripara premiered was also the day sailor moon crystal finally premiered, years after it was first announced so I had two things to look forward to that day.

I’ll be honest I’m not good with Change so I was pretty unhappy about the huge changes between pretty rhythm and Pripara the removal of ice skating, prism jumps and prism stones really made me hesitant but in the end I’m glad I gave it a chance

And now I’m stuck here…..forever…….with a loud eternal 12 year old 6th grader…..

Soooo it's beem a few weeks, but sadly I've been working my butt off at my new job and also my wifi has been really bad.

So I managed to log onto my laptop just so I can introduce you to a a few oc my Pripara ocs that will eventually be redrawn!

First up is my unit ""Unity Song!"

This unit is composed Idols:

Berri- Team Leader (Protagonist)

Berri is a 15 year old girl who works in her mother Cake store, she never got her Priticket as a young child, and only just recieved it on the day of her 15th, she is a Lovely type user wearing Twinkle Ribbon, shes a kind soul and adores her twins sibblings Ringo and Lemon, her mother has a shortcake named after her which changes every month depending on the fruit that Berri decides. During her first live, she was much in shock about the fact she had become an Idol.

Ange-

Ange is a 9 year old student who is quite awkward socially, she befriends Berri when she is amazed by her stage presence, and the two become quick friends. Ange is a cool type user, using Holic Trick as her main type.

Medow-

Medow is a shy mysterious Idol who catches both Berri and Ange's attention when she applies to join their unit. Medow is a lovely type idol using Fanatasy time as their main brand...but Medow holds a major secrets....Like Reona...they are a boy!

Medow's real name is "Kei", he's a 15 year old student in Berri's class, n one knows why he was given a Priticket, but he enjoys the idea of being someone else, and treats Medow as as sepreate being to himself (Similar to how Non treats her Triangle avatars).

Lulu-

Lulu is a 15 year old girl, and is the leader of the Rival unit against Berri's, she also is a lovely Type user wearing Twinkle ribbons, something she has as a "Grudge" against Berri, but in reality Lulu is quite awkward, and always struggles to act as tough as she is in Pripara.

Lemon-

Lemon is Berri's younger sister, and Twin to Ringo, she eventually joins Pripara when her Priticket arrives, she is very excited and cheerful, which suits her Pop type of Candy A La Mode.

Looks: I’m a boy but I present very feminine, I’m 5’4’’, I have short fluffy black hair with pink bangs, I’m fairly pale because I’m white and I stay inside 24/7, I have basic brown eyes, I usually put on big black winged eyeliner, and my resting expression makes people think that I’m mad or upset a lot.

Personality: I’m a pretty introverted person and I find it hard to talk to most people. I’ve had many people describe my voice and mannerisms as fairly monotone, I’m generally not super expressive. I’m a very anxious, clingy, and jealous person, I tend to have a few people I’m really close to who I’ll follow around in public settings. I’m pretty ok academically, but I find basic life skills hard to get.

Hobbies and interests: I’d say my only true hobby is drawing, but I’ve also tried ballet many times in the past. My main interests are in magical girls, dolls, and alternative fashion (lots of j-fashion). I’m a big music enjoyer, I like a variety of pop, metal, electronic, and punk music. I’m also a furry, I don’t have a fursuit yet, but I’ve created many fursonas for myself.

Hi! I'm HAM's servant. This post is about the world settings of the future Pripara that I saw at the "Large Pripara exhibition" and my feelings at that time. I've split the long text into several parts. This is the 3rd post in the series!

(However, I'm still tired from the trip and my work, so I might write in Japanese sometimes. It’s totally up to you whether you choose to read it or not)

Right, those are the "Large PriPara TimeLines" (大プリパラ年表).

As you might guess from those pictures interpolated here, they summarized historic events from PriPara anime. Ah the good old days >___<｡

It seems to me that they're using the word "近代" (modern) incorrectly, more like "現代" (modern) in 現代 Japanese society. In Japan, "近代" is typically mean to the period up until the end of WWⅡ, though interpretations vary. I'm sorry if this isn't a good writing style for you. Well, PriPara world may be different from ours, but. . . Ugh?

TBH, I'm a little disappointed because I wanted the history of PriPara arcade, 3DS software, and SwiPara to be written as well. However, I have a doujin-book of useful but a bit old resources written by a geek friend so I'm gonna read it at a later date. And of course I will quote it if I found unexpected discovery!

I got off track, didn't I? My eyes teared up a little when I saw those exhibits. That's because I found myself reminiscing about various anime episodes and my memories of that time one after another.

アニメで好きなのは2期だけどのめり込み始めたのは神アイドル弾、最もやりこんだのはタイム弾……　ハムはまだ我が家にいなかった。私の頭の中もアドパラ並みに時空が歪んでいるので、色々な思い出と照らし合わせる資料が欲しかった……😵

Ah Pleopatra, I completely forgot. There is an idol who calls herself "Pleopatra" in Adpara haha. For those who don't know, she's an OC in the game, not in the anime. I occasionally see her.

I'm later to know her setting but now understand she's a Hanken-MyChara (版権マイキャラ : It means "an OC designed to resemble an existing-character". For example you've probably seen idols who look like Laala, Falulu, Aloma and Mikan occasionally in Adpara). I used to see these Idols from 2014 to 2017 in Japan.

覚えている限り、おそ松さんや刀剣乱舞が人気だった。うちにも結構いた、っていうか厳密に言うとハムもそうだ。「のびはむ SKジャパン ぬいぐるみ」で検索すると仲間がいっぱい出てくると思う

And I feel nostalgic about the PriPass Idol Link , PriTicket official file bag (Laala ver.) and many more things!!😭 I used to love those. . . Sadly, those collapsed due to age related deterioration around 2022 woooooo. . . 🍃

Incidentally, my sweet HAM-chan was transferring her consciousness transferred into my smartphone that day. Sounds a bit PriPass, doesn't it? 📱(´Y｀)💨

BTW, babysitting isn't common in Japan. Traditional childcare here, where mothers quit their jobs to concentrate on raising their children, has started to fall out of use. But I have no idea what year and era the world PriPara Idols live in now, given the distortion of time in anime. What going on with it . . . ???🤔

I think, maybe the lack of change of Japanese characters and how to expression is a little surprising for Japanese. (BTW, I'm gonna write the next post about around that just like the foot of the snake (蛇足 : what I don't have to do), so read on if you're a person who is very curious.)

Chinese characters (漢字 : kanji) are known as ideograms. It's still difficult for children to memorise. They are in the process of learning things from their life. The minimum required Hiragana and katakana are necessary for conversation for Japanese children those are acquired at an early age. Afterwards they are taught their own name's kanji, next easy kanji and gradually learn more difficult ones.

(This time, kanji are distinguished by pink, hiragana by orange and katakana by light blue. プレビュー上は問題ないように色を変更しているのに、なぜか毎回ちょっとおかしい表示になってしまう。諦めていいか？　いいよ)

Maybe Laalulu isn't older than Laala. I think the fact that she writes in hiragana when she should be writing in kanji, reflects her infant age settings and still lack of academic ability. I'm gonna post a bit of information about the Laalulu attends school and photos of Laala's test papers later. Her disgraceful 黒歴史 (black history) displayed in the booth. . . What a poor Idol😥

Ah I want to know what Laalulu is all about. First, is she a human or a vocal doll like Falulu?? (Ah Um well, I'm gonna write this directly without fear of being misunderstood. And second. Possibly they mean to say, "she is descendand from LaaFalu" ???? TBH, it's the most interesting mystery of her setting for me! help me!!🤓←otaku emoji)

BTW, it's a bit of minority for people to have written in hiragana or katakana like PriPara characters in Japan. Because most parents want their children's names to present a orison, so they often want to include meaningful kanji.

(?) BTW, 病み(yami : sick) and 闇 are known as the homophone. Maybe "病みかわいい" (sickly cute) also famous in other countries so when you don't know difference, you might tilt their heads.

同じ最年少でも、そふぃは8歳、ショウゴは5歳でデビュー。あとやっぱりプリリズからずっと「女子よりも男子の方がレベルが高い」という設定は続いてるのかな？　実際のフィギュアスケートでもそうだったから不思議ではないけど。

Now, were the stage version of DunPri and more works available see to people living abroad? If my memory serves me correctly, I think the Blu-ray wasn't sold after all. てか、アドパラ公式本当にもったいないよ。舞台やダンプリ単独を見てなかったらダークナイトメアの設定なんかほとんど身にしみてわからなくね？？？　私自身、何も知らなかったらアニメの感想も違ったと思う。舞台の配信とアドパラを一周程度では、まだ彼らのことを明確には好きになれていないのだ。ふわっと程度には好き。近いのは「彼らのことが気になる」だ。だからこそ、もっと好きになれそうなところがあるのか知りたい。温かいスマホがありがたい季節になったら配信されている分を見返すけど、2期は……　いつ

ちなみに我々は配信で観た。私もハムも元々リアイベ全般が苦手。「好きになれるチャンスがあるか試す」ためだけに挑戦するハードルは高かった。それらを塗り替えてくれたのが、コロナ禍で盛んだった配信文化だった！　プリ☆チャンのライブとの親和性も高く、「放送当時はあまり楽しめなかったけど再トライしたいかも」と感じ始めたのもこの頃。感謝の気持ちは大きい！　ありがとう。

I realized that the Fortune Party logo looks like knit or fluffy fabric. I felt the designer's attention to detail!!

The images I saw online had no texture because the image quality was too low. Maybe I don't think we will stare at the logo for very long. Honestly, we usually just take a quick look at it a little bit to get a a sense the brand of coords, don't we. . . ?

ドロシーやレオナに似合いそうな素材感、隠れた手作り感、もこもこかわいい～！　ブランドの印象をより強く伝えてもらった気がする。

Other logos have a smooth texture as if they painted on plastic or resin (OK, just as I imagined) ! They made fantastic designs of adding intricate details but I didn't focus on them long time. I was really grateful to be able to appreciate logo works, even if it may seem exaggerated *´ヮ｀*

If I had held my hand close to Dorothy as if offer her TomoTicket at that time, maybe I could have fantasised that we were really trading it . . . Ugh🤤

but woooo !!! basically i've been on a long journey rewatching pripara very slowly so it's kinda seeping into my brain so i wanted to mess around with what outfits mayoi would go for if he went 2 pripara !! if u want a teal eyed version that also isnt split into parts, heres my pixiv post

last few things to say b4 i start, hello 3 pripara fans on my account, no boypara outfits cuz i didnt grow up with that (the last op i remember is the 6th one and i dont think im anywhere near that yet in my rewatch), honestly i have no clue if there's even proper boypara outfits??? i just know it exists idk anything about it, and if u see placeholders thats cuz i wanna keep the 3 image layout, thats the only reason why lol. and outfit descriptions will go below the art of the outfit. ok time 2 start !!!!!!

Petit Devi from Holic Trick Classic !! this was the first one I did back on.... Janurary 2nd lol. I have yet to see Mayoi in a bright pink but u know what, my executive decision says he deserves it. hi 3 pripara fans on my account again, i should also say most of these (like this one) will be from the arcade stuff cuz i just picked stuff i liked from the wiki's coord list

Sexy Girl from Holic Trick cuz Mayoi's the sexiest girl i know !! from now on all the coords will be from Holic Trick (an in-show brand) cuz 2bh w y'all i mostly just browsed Holic Trick for this whole series of drawings cuz im not going thru all those dam coords. although i've done 2 short skirts so far i do think mayoi'd like longer skirts more, but pripara likes short skirts more so so be it o7

Gothic Check !! the grey shirt and black jacket is kinda giving fs2 4star vibes so this would be the fs2 4star if enstars were cool (wore pripara outfits)

Modern Coffee Maid !! I was thinking of maybe changing the color but i liked the way the orange contrasts with the purple making it look kinda halloweeny :] I also have a personal bias towards brown i luv that color !! but ya if i had 2 say, he'd probably be a 3star if this were a set, kinda vaguely fits him but not enough to be under the spotlight imo

Classic Trump !! Sophy actually wears this in the show and i think it's so cute i wonder how the other alka members would style the vest in their own way (im 2 lazy 2 do that myself yawwnnn) in fact mayoi himself would probably prefer longer sleeves but u kno, stayed tru 2 the original n stuff, anyway say hello to bright pink again mayochan

My Design Holic Trick !! back to holic trick for the rest again :] this is the one i posted on its own hehehehe it's still the one i put THE most effort into (which is why it's the only one i bothered to sign, still dont repost the rest tho please and thank u im just lazy) cuz man its a vibe its so good its one of my favs still i love stupid shorts and the puffy sleeves with the cropped vest and black and purple and the heart and bows and keys which are kinda all reasons i also like mayoi (heart in mayois vibe comes from his big heart muah) bless u mayoi i luv u

Night Navy !! mayoi loves to kill artists in cold blood with random intricate patterns (or maybe thats just an enstars thing in general) so i knew i had to give him this dress. gave him an undershirt cuz what if he gets cold :[
