UNEP FI Toolkit for Impact Management.
youtube
UNEP FI is pleased to launch the Impact Protocol for Banks, along with the latest Module of Version 3 of the Portfolio Impact Analysis Tool for Banks, marking the consolidation of a full toolkit for impact management for banks.
In 2017 UNEP FI’s Principles for Positive Impact Finance put forward a new, holistic, approach to impact management by private financial institutions, involving the systematic consideration of both positive and negative impacts across the three pillars of sustainable development (environmental, social, socio-economic).
In 2019, UNEP FI released the Principles for Responsible Banking (PRB), which requires signatory banks to align their core strategy, decision-making, lending and investment with the Sustainable Development Goals, and international agreements such as the Paris Climate Agreement. To achieve this, Principle 2 requires banks to perform an impact analysis of their portfolios, to identify their most significant impact areas and to set impact targets and action plans accordingly, so as to manage their positive and negative impacts.
The Impact Protocol provides a step-by-step overview of how to analyse and manage bank portfolio impacts as per UNEP FI’s holistic impact approach, and in conformity with the requirements of the Principles for Responsible Banking.

Quick FAQ on Tumblr, "Value", and the Proposed Crab Day
Motivation: I see a lot of misinformation circulating on the dash re the proposed crab day and I wanted to offer a simplified and judgement free perspective using core principles of finance.
Q: We keep being told that tumblr's been making nothing but a loss for years, and yet, if it is so unprofitable, then why is no one is shutting the website down? Is it really in need of our money if it's already owned by a multi-billion dollar corporation?
This is in fact not as much of a paradox as it appears to be because "value" in corporate finance terms is a function of present and expected future profits (adjusting for the fact that profits you expect to be earn in the near future are worth a lot more than equivalent profits expected to be earned much later in time).
This means that you can have a company or a product that is currently making a loss (i.e. costing a lot more to run than the income it generates) and it might still be worth some (or a lot of) money as long as you expect it to generate enough profits going forward. Uber for example has been making a loss for years and is still valued at billions of dollars because people think it will eventually generate a lot of profit.
Q: What does all of that mean for tumblr, specifically?
Given how unprofitable tumblr has been historically it's actually a pretty good sign that management has a plan to try and make it profitable because it means they haven't thrown in the towel yet!
But if they fail or if they decide that no matter what they do tumblr will remain unprofitable, then they wouldn't have much business incentive to keep running it. This is why participating in crab day or spending some money on tumblr in general is a good idea, if you can afford it and if tumblr is a service you would like to keep enjoying into the future. And if the answer is no to either of those questions, that's ok too--don't let anyone guilt you on this.
Even more questions-and-answers under the cut! My inbox is also open for any (good faith) questions you might have.
Q: But we all use tumblr religiously--isn't that enough?
Not quite. Tumblr's current state means that the existing userbase is not enough to make the site profitable. For that to change, either the existing userbase needs to become more profitable, or tumblr needs to get a lot more new users--or have a combination of both.
Q: Can crab day really solve all this?
Once again, not quite. A one time cash-injection is not equal to sustainable income, which is what tumblr ultimately needs. This means tumblr will still need to court potential new users and that entails some change to the design and/or the perception of the site. (I love tumblr but guys, if we are real for a second, last time I told my coworkers that, they asked me if I also had a myspace account.)
Q: So why participate then?
Because it will still help. While some change is inevitable and necessary, if we the existing users put our money where our mouth is, it would send a strong signal to management that we value the service they offer and that they should take our preferences into account in designing the site's future also. Also some cash, even if it is a one time deal,
Q: I heard people who came up with the idea are transphobic Christian fundies--do you really want to associate with people like that?
I don't. But who the blogs behind this idea, as people, are has no bearing on the merits of the idea itself.

Class A Event Cafe Business Model
Analyzing Gakushu's school festival business plan from a comprehensive finance and psychological perspective reveals several key strengths and potential risks. I'll delve into the intricacies of the revenue model, cost structure, operational efficiency, and psychological tactics for a nuanced understanding of his business strategy and its implications. (This may get wordy.)
The event cafe's primary revenue source is the 500 yen entrance fee, which provides attendees with free food, drinks, and access to performances. This model banks on repeat visits, assuming high engagement levels. The psychological underpinning here is the ‘fear of missing out’ (FOMO), as events are scheduled at one-hour intervals, creating urgency and encouraging multiple payments.
Examining the cost structure, Gakushu’s reliance on free performances by pop stars pals and comedian buddies significantly cuts entertainment expenses. This cost-saving measure, however, hinges on personal relationships, posing sustainability risks. If these relationships wane or if performers seek compensation in the future, it could disrupt the cost structure. Since this is a fictional case scenario, I'm going with the possibility that Gakushu's network can be relied on.
Tumblr media
The endorsement deal with Suzume Izakaya food services provides substantial financial support and in-kind contributions. This sponsorship not only reduces operational costs but also enhances the festival’s credibility, as Suzume Izakaya’s brand reputation can attract more visitors who trust the quality of the food and beverages.
Offering free food and drinks is a double-edged sword. On one hand, it is an attractive feature that can draw a large number of attendees, enhancing perceived value and satisfaction. On the other hand, it presents a significant cost burden. Effective inventory management and supplier negotiations are crucial to balance cost and supply. There is also a risk of overconsumption, which must be managed to avoid resource depletion.
Operational efficiency is another critical component of Gakushu's plan. Organizing events at one-hour intervals on different stages maximizes space and time utilization, keeping the audience engaged and minimizing downtime. This continuous engagement strategy ensures that attendees are constantly entertained, increasing the likelihood of repeat entrance fee payments. The immediate start of subsequent events also helps maintain a steady flow of visitors, reducing congestion and enhancing the overall customer experience.
Psychologically, the one-hour event intervals create a sense of urgency and scarcity, compelling attendees to make quick decisions to attend multiple events. This tactic leverages the psychological principle that limited availability increases perceived value, driving higher engagement and repeat visits.
The use of celebrity performances taps into social proof and authority. Featuring well-known pop stars and comedians draws their fan bases and generates buzz, enhancing the festival’s attractiveness. This social influence can significantly boost attendance, as people tend to follow the actions of those they admire. The endorsement by Suzume Izakaya also adds an element of authority and trust, reassuring attendees about the quality and safety of the festival’s offerings.
The all-inclusive 500 yen entrance fee creates a high perceived value, making attendees feel they are getting a good deal. This pricing strategy increases their willingness to pay, especially when considering the continuous entertainment and free provisions. The plan also aims to foster customer loyalty by ensuring a captivating experience that encourages repeat visits.
Tumblr media
Quoting what the Virtuosos said, such a complex and multifaceted plan is particularly challenging for a third-year junior high student. The management skills required to coordinate performances, manage resources, negotiate partnerships, and ensure operational efficiency are significant. Gakushu’s ability to pull off this plan and win the school festival showcases exceptional organizational and leadership skills. This ability to leverage personal networks and psychological principles to drive engagement and revenue are commendable. Successfully managing such a demanding project at 15 could be foreshadowing of his future as an executive when he started a business in Silicon Valley after receiving an MBA at MIT.

In the late 21st century, the world underwent a dramatic shift as the Arab world, fueled by a powerful resurgence in cultural, economic, and political influence, began to shape the global landscape in an unprecedented process of Arabization. This was not a conquest by force, but rather a sweeping cultural and intellectual movement that redefined the global order, spreading Arab values, language, and traditions across continents.
### The Rise of the Arab World
The foundation for this global Arabization was laid during a period of rapid transformation in the Arab world, often referred to as the Second Arab Renaissance. This era was marked by significant advancements in technology, renewable energy, education, and governance, positioning the region as a leader in the post-industrial world.
Oil wealth, once the cornerstone of the Arab economy, was strategically reinvested into sectors such as clean energy, technology, and education. The Gulf states, in particular, became hubs for innovation and global finance, attracting talent and investment from around the world. As the Arab world modernized, it also began to export its culture, language, and values, using soft power to extend its influence far beyond its traditional borders.
### Cultural Influence and Language Expansion
Arabic, which had long been a language of religious and literary significance, began to gain prominence as a global language of commerce, science, and diplomacy. The spread of Arabic was driven by the region’s economic clout, with Arabic becoming a required language in international business, diplomacy, and academia. Leading universities around the world introduced Arabic as a core part of their curriculum, and Arabic-language media became dominant sources of news and entertainment.
The cultural influence of the Arab world extended into everyday life. Islamic architecture, art, and fashion gained widespread popularity, influencing global design trends. Traditional Arab music and cuisine also became staples in cities around the world, with fusion genres and dishes integrating into the global mainstream. Festivals celebrating Arab culture began to spring up across major global cities, attended by millions who embraced the rich traditions of the Arab world.
### The Global Spread of Islamic Values
Parallel to the cultural influence was the rise of Islamic values and ethics in global governance and societal norms. The emphasis on community, charity, and social justice inherent in Islamic teachings resonated with populations worldwide, especially in regions facing economic disparity and social unrest. As a result, many nations began to adopt aspects of Sharia-inspired legal frameworks, particularly in areas related to finance, family law, and social welfare.
The global financial system saw a shift towards Islamic banking, which emphasizes ethical investments and the prohibition of interest. This model attracted countries seeking more sustainable and equitable financial systems, leading to the widespread adoption of Islamic finance principles across Europe, Asia, and Africa.
### The Arab World as a Global Leader
As the Arabization of the world progressed, the Arab world took on a leadership role in global institutions. Organizations like the United Nations and the World Bank saw a significant increase in Arab leadership and influence. The Arab League, once focused primarily on regional issues, evolved into a powerful global alliance that set the agenda on key international issues, from climate change to global trade.
The political model of the Arab world, blending aspects of traditional governance with modern democracy, became a blueprint for nations seeking stability and prosperity. This hybrid model emphasized the role of wise leadership, community consultation, and religious guidance, offering an alternative to Western-style democracy that appealed to many countries, particularly in the Global South.
### Resistance and Integration
The Arabization of the world was not without its challenges. In some regions, there was resistance to the spread of Arabic language and Islamic values, driven by concerns over cultural homogenization and the erosion of local traditions. However, the Arab world, through a combination of diplomacy, economic incentives, and cultural exchange, was largely successful in addressing these concerns.
Integration into the Arabized global order often involved a blending of local and Arab cultures, creating new, hybrid identities that celebrated diversity while acknowledging the influence of Arab civilization. This cultural synthesis became a hallmark of the 22nd century, leading to a more interconnected and culturally rich global society.
### A New World Order
By the end of the 22nd century, the Arab world had succeeded in Arabizing much of the globe, not through conquest, but through the power of its culture, language, and ideas. The world had become a place where Arabic was spoken in boardrooms and classrooms from New York to Tokyo, where Islamic values shaped the ethical foundations of society, and where the architectural, artistic, and culinary traditions of the Arab world were celebrated as global heritage.
This new world order, shaped by the principles of the Arab Renaissance, was one of cultural exchange, mutual respect, and shared prosperity. The Arabization of the world had not erased other cultures, but rather enriched them, creating a global civilization that drew strength from its diverse roots and its shared future.

On International Bug Day 14th July, meet an ecological grocery store named "an island resonant with the sounds of bugs"
At a quaint, independent grocery store in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province, the beans are stored in large transparent acrylic jars with release valves at the bottom. Vegetables are placed in bamboo baskets free from plastic packaging, and seasonings like cooking wine and soy sauce are kept in half-meter-tall ceramic jars.
This community shop, located in Xihu district, is an attempt by Qiu Li, an ecology teacher from Zhejiang University of Finance & Economics, to instill greater environmental awareness in the local community.
She opened her shop three years ago, naming it Chongmingdao, which means an island resonant with the sounds of bugs.
"While bugs are categorized into beneficial and harmful insects, they exhibit the highest diversity of types, each holding inherent value and significance within nature," she said.
Years of engagement in environmental protection has taught Qiu, 47, that "while everyone knows the importance of environmental protection, ingraining the concept of sustainability into their daily behaviors remains a significant challenge".
Her original motivation in opening her shop was to address issues of over-packaging and single-use plastics. She said prolonged exposure to eco-friendly principles and associated practices can be instrumental in shaping people's consciousness.
One converted customer is a retired woman from a mining area in Shanxi province who, due to respiratory and lung health concerns, regularly consumed health supplements. Upon Qiu's guidance, the woman reduced her intake of supplements and transitioned to organic products.
After six months, her medical tests revealed significant improvements in all conditions, especially cirrhosis. The woman is now a regular at Qiu's shop.

For this year’s International Women’s Day, the United Nations calls on us to “Invest in Women: Accelerate Progress.” The theme highlights how, amid a global polycrisis, achieving gender equality is vital for the collective well-being of communities worldwide. It calls attention to the significant challenges that persist in ensuring gender-equitable outcomes: in particular, evidence from the 2023 Gender Snapshot projecting that 340 million women and girls will still be living in poverty by 2030 and highlighting a significant funding shortfall—an additional $360 billion investment needed to achieve SDG goals of gender equality.
As global calls for financing for gender equality continue, it is vital to center care in these conversations. Over the past few decades, while programs focusing on women’s inclusion into the formal economy have made promising strides, much of the labor traditionally performed by girls and women, such as domestic and care work, is unpaid and not accounted for in conventional economic models. Globally, women perform an estimated 76 percent of unpaid care work. Even when paid, care work is often characterized by low wages and inadequate working conditions, especially for the most marginalized workers.
This International Women’s Day, as we reflect upon the advances made in the struggle for gender equality and justice in the previous decades, policy and program design would also be strengthened from addressing the relative invisibility of women’s labor across informal and care economies.
Situating women in global development
Globally, women’s inclusion as stakeholders in development processes emerged in the 1970s as part of a transnational “Women in Development” movement, which sought to position women as central to development—both as agents and beneficiaries. The movement’s advocacy translated into significant policy shifts, beginning with the 1973 Percy Amendment to the U.S. Foreign Assistance Act, requiring that “U.S. foreign aid programs encourage and promote the integration of women into the national economies in the developing countries.”
In the following decade, a broad array of global actors began championing women’s role in development. For example, the OECD instituted the Guiding Principles for Supporting the Role of Women in Development in 1983, and the World Bank established a Women in Development division in 1987. Galvanized by the U.N. Decade for Women (1975), along with decades of feminist research and organizing across the Global South and North, such programs ranged from women workers’ rights to small scale social enterprise, the latter of which were contemporaneous with the ascendancy of neoliberal policies in the 1980s and the faith in increasingly market-based solutions toward development.
But much like the biologically deterministic category of “woman” itself, actors working in the women in development space were far from homogenous. Over the intervening decades, their work has pushed theory and practice in new directions, introducing debates over whether women’s economic inclusion should be separated from advocating structural transformations in the political economy and asking what the roles of gender, race, caste, class, ability, and geopolitics are in women’s development programs. This has led to new frameworks, including those emphasizing gender relations, intersectionality, and global redistributive politics, which continue to shape contemporary debates in the broader field of gender and development.
In many of these debates, the gendered division of labor has been at the center. For example, feminist research on social reproduction—which broadly refers to the paid and unpaid labor necessary to sustain human life, such as care work—highlights not only that such labor has historically been seen as “women’s work” but also how its devaluation is fundamental in reproducing inequality and patriarchy.
Building care infrastructures for a gender-equal future
So, while today’s calls to invest in gender equality can fuel transformative initiatives, there are also perils associated with focusing solely on women’s inclusion in the formal labor market. Evaluating progress through this lens can not only render women who perform domestic or care work as “unworthy, disposable others,” but can also erase how race, class, and geopolitics shape labor across all gender identities. A broader view of the economy, which encompasses concepts of care, is fundamental in creating a more gender-equal future. In fact, Sustainable Development Goal 5.4 underscores the importance of valuing unpaid work by providing essential public services and promoting shared household responsibilities.
Building care infrastructures that recognize, fairly compensate, and redistribute the care work performed predominately by the working class, migrants, and women of color can lead to a multitude of benefits, including ensuring better educational outcomes for children, improving women’s mental well-being, and expanding women’s access to economic opportunities. One example of how the redistribution of care work can lead to gender equality is adequate and well-incentivized paternity leave, which can increase mothers’ probability of reemployment, promote maternal health, and advance gender and economic equality. Additionally, recognizing unpaid care and domestic work can help promote the elimination of discriminatory social norms and deep-rooted stereotypes around ideas of gender and labor–ultimately contributing to building more inclusive societies for all gender identities.
Looking forward
As global stakeholders respond to this year’s International Women’s Day call, determining who, how, and what to invest in can facilitate progress toward more equitable and sustainable development goals.
Who: Using an intersectional lens can enable stakeholders to identify how different systems of oppression—and the particularities between them—marginalize individuals and communities across all gender identities, and who should be centered in policy and programs.
How: The root causes of marginalization may then be addressed through a critical reflection of power dynamics across and within development contexts, and empowering local communities to chart their paths toward justice and equality, which can also inform recent “localization” efforts championed by development actors such as the U.S. Agency for International Development.
What: Finally, such shifts toward intersectionality and localization may also benefit from directly addressing inequities at the household, community, and national levels—in particular, both domestic work at home and in paid sectors such as education and health care—by developing concrete tools and infrastructures that value and redistribute care burdens.
As we craft new strategies to carry forward the decades-long fight to transform systems that sustain inequality and patriarchy, reimagining the relationships between gender, labor, and the economy is essential to building a more just future for all.

The ENSLAVEMENT SYSTEM IS CRASHING....Signs of crash are everywhere. A RESTART will follow ★
The enslavement system includes:
1. Controlling systems through laws and regulations
2. Religions filled with lies and deceptions which have resulted in many wars and deaths of billions.
3. Money, debt and banking systems.
4. Finance and economic systems
5. Trading and commerce systems
6. Import and export systems
7. Corruption and deception system through threats/briberies/propagandas.
8. MIND CONTROL through inplants, frequency weapons, and etheric manipulation.
9. Etc....
All of them are crashing now.
In the midst of chaos and reordering, Remember to raise your consciousness, vibrations and frequencies. Say goodbye to enslavement and say hello to GALACTIC CITIZENSHIPS and INTERSTELLAR INTERACTION among Star Nations.
٠•● Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ
The powers that be are desperately attempting to institute safeguards to a system that is crashing. WE just can’t have an economic model which funnels resources into the hands of the elite, and a social system that disregards an ethical and sustainable approach to the environment, without something eventually breaking. With their last breath they are creating secret trade agreements designed to implement a world government, yet there’s a growing community of awakening people that are discussing and designing innovative solutions to the systemic mess WE’re in.
The masses have not yet awoken to the fact that WE operate under a privately owned central banking system which maintains the monopolization of our monetary system for a dozen or so international banking families. In fact, Many of our so-called leaders – such as politicians, charity organizations and those in the public spotlight – have awoken to this insanity either.
If WE were to collectively recognize this, there is no doubt that WE would instantly stand up and institute a banking system & a world that is created for the people, by the people.

The Awakening Of Society Is Just As Important As The Awakening Of Our Self ★
Spirituality is a very personal affair regardless of the various pathways or disciplines that ONE may follow. Yet even though there is an abundance of avenues for spiritual endeavor, there is generally a universal agreement on the principle of unity.
"If reality is unified, then WE must also accept that everything is essentially equal."
There are many ways that ONE may be introduced to this philosophy. WE may have been brought up around it via our family. WE might have had a profound revelation in a ONE-off experience. Some are initiated through ongoing paranormal activity. Others just intuitively feel it. Altered mind states could have been the catalyst. A gradual or instant revolution could have occurred in our mind where synchronicity deposed coincidence. There could have also been an influence by assorted texts and teachings which infer this similar conclusion. For most of us, uncovering the wisdom of unity most likely occurred via a combination of channels.
"Transcending the illusion of disconnection is a personal path."
Regardless of our beliefs, and the series of events or informational resources that led to our personal awakening, our fundamental understanding is unity. WE are each a part of a complex integrated whole, and our external environment is a reflection of our fundamental nature, including what is in harmony with us and what isn’t. So, irrespective of how peaceful WE have set up our internal environment, if WE truly want to experience peace, WE need to transform the outer world – the collective mental and physical landscapes that WE inhabit. If WE are all truly unified, WE have a responsibility as part of this awakening to continually heal and grow our internal and external worlds.
"The personal awakening is synonymous to the collective awakening."
A Global Metaphysical View ★
Unity can be used as a universal term to describe the outcomes of various fields of thought. Examples include: Energy; Mind; Consciousness; Holographic universe; Light; Love; Spirit; the Source; the Field; the Akashic Field; the Zero-point Energy Field; Quantum Field of Possibilities; the Collective Unconscious; Undivided Wholeness; Nirvana; One; God etc. If these are all equal to each other in terms of their agreement that a unifying principle exists, then WE have arrived at an agreed global metaphysical position which incorporates both our rational and intuitive hemispheres.
"The primary nature of reality is unified."
Irrespective of what reality is literally made of, whether its essence is of a material or immaterial nature, it’s irrelevant to our goals. As long as we agree that a property of reality is unity, and that unity inherently implies that everything is fundamentally equal, then together WE can get on with making this earthly experience fair and peaceful for all.
"Earth’s global culture needs to heal and grow as ONE."
That is why an agreed metaphysical view for our global society has significant implications for our future. From both a personal and societal standpoint, as well as a rational and intuitive standpoint, WE know to treat everyONE and everything uniformly. The way WE care for ourselves should be equivalent to the way that WE care for others. Our philosophical and practical social systems should also ensure that each person has access to the resources they need to adequately survive and thrive.
"Because WE are unified, the suffering of others is a reflection of our own suffering."
No matter how far WE may be personally removed from it, the reality is the majority of our fellow man is distressed from a lack of external and/or internal resources. The former is strongly influenced from an unequal distribution of food, water, shelter, infrastructure, education, medicine and political representation, whilst the latter from a lack of knowledge and skills in emotional regulation and psychological balancing, as well as a poor conceptual capacity to face and overcome the challenges to establishing and maintaining one’s inner peace.
"Suffering is pandemic across the so-called developing and developed nations."
Translating a Global Metaphysical View Into Practice ★
When WE individually undertake a process of spiritual introspection, WE all arrive at the exact same place; unity. Yet when we translate that wisdom into practice, the result is a plethora of personal, philosophical and cultural differences. That is why so many distinct religions exist, especially because the expression of how WE should operationalize this perspective is subject to the environmental influences present during its inception and development.
"There are infinite expressions of how to live in unity."
Now that many people undertake this process outside the context of pre-established models, it is no wonder that there are so many individualized methodologies to spirituality. And there’s nothing wrong with that either; there is no ONE strict way to live, so as long as it doesn’t conflict with the primary principle of unity and its inherent implications, then it should be encouraged and embraced.
“Regardless of the personal path WE choose to take, spirituality is a journey of enlightenment for both the inner and outer realms.”
¨
The Health and Growth of The Self ★
WE are all subject to the suffering of the self and it is our personal role to transcend it. But our health is much more than is usually defined; it’s not just our physical and mental well-being. The reality is WE have many layers of our life to take care of including our physical, psychological, emotional, philosophical, sexual, behavioral, creative, social and spiritual vitalities. With this in mind, WE should be continually asking ourselves what areas need more attention and what strategies can WE implement to heal and grow. WE also need to find a true LOVE for ourselves.
"Therapeutic and developmental practices which harmonize all of our life vitalities ensures that WE raise our vibration and align ourselves closer to our spiritual path."
Even though WE literally make the free choice on how WE think, feel, act and live, WE are still strongly influenced by our environment, such as parents, peers, culture, society, government and the age WE live in. Therefore, as an adult WE are both independent and conditioned agents. But WE can transcend our conditioning and align ourselves to the fundamental wisdom and knowledge of the universe. Therefore, the time WE become truly free is the time that WE take full responsibility of ourselves and ensure that WE, not anyone or anything else, are the most influential factor for how we evolve for the rest of our lives. That of course means taking full responsibility for how WE think and feel.
"To be truly free, WE must empower ourselves to guide our thoughts and emotions."
It’s the basics. Excuses which blame something or someONE for our thoughts and feelings just don’t cut it on the spiritual path. Spiritually, WE have experiences for our growth; WE are co-creators of our experience. Now this doesn’t mean that there aren’t consequences for the actions of others which hurt us, the response WE provide is incorporated into the overall context of the negative and positive vibrations that they’ve attracted into their life.
"If people act unjust, then justice will inevitably be served."
The new age mantra that “everything happens for a reason” may be true in the sense that experiences have innate information that WE can capitalize on to progress us on our path of enlightenment, but it is equally true that proportional actions need to transpire in response. Just like WE should respond to the injustice WE serve ourselves, WE should also respond to that which surrounds us. The tricky part is determining what that response should be which is why WE draw on both our rational and intuitive capacities to guide us.
"Not only should WE accept our experiences, but also respond to them accordingly."
It is true that WE make so-called ‘mistakes’ which deliver us to our destiny; however that doesn’t mean WE should make that same choice again. WE should learn from it. There are innumerable times that WE have had an undesirable experience which resulted in our growth, regardless if it was influenced from the actions of ourselves or others. And that’s what WE need; to learn, to heal, and to grow. WE need to harmonious our energies and become our new, more developed selves in every moment. When WE conceive of our experience this way – where our wants are the healthy and unhealthy desires of our ego and our needs are the experiences WE require for sustained growth – then WE always have something to offer ourselves.
"If WE process each experience as an opportunity to learn, regardless of how undesirable that experience is, WE always get exactly what WE need: growth."
Every moment is therefore an opportunity to progress our health and well-being. When WE treat ourselves and others disappointingly, WE should process it in the context of our learning and then make amends. The same applies when somebody treats us poorly; when WE are exposed to underdeveloped actions by others, WE should embrace it as a part of us, as well as give a calculated response in return. After all, WE have accepted that WE are fundamentally united. For example, what information and energy can WE embrace from it? Is there some action we can do to encourage the health and growth of both the internal and external worlds?
"When WE embrace our experience, WE must develop a healthy balance between awareness, acceptance and action."
The Health and Growth of Society ★
Mindful living is an integral aspect of spirituality. Allowing ourselves and others to make poor choices without negative judgement or condemnation is vital. Our judgement should be reasonable and realistic and WE should always radiate positive and loving vibrations too. WE should understand ourselves as a pulsing and energetic vibration – an instrument of sound adding to the orchestra of reality which encompasses us. WE should lead from our heart and consciously influence the collective vibration of our shared reality.
"Maximizing the impact WE have as co-creators amplifies the awakening of our collective consciousness."
This means being loving, patient, compassionate, empathetic and understanding. But as described above, it also means taking action to influence the health and growth of our society. It’s a misconception to think that just because everything is meant to be, that it will naturally balance itself out without our intervention.
"It is as much our responsibility to undertake appropriate responses to our outside world as it is to our inside world."
Just like there are some justified ramifications within our social models of law and ethics, there are also measures that we must apply in response to our external environment. This does not necessarily mean that the law should be taken into ONE’s own hands, but more so that as an individual within a global culture, actions need to be taken to rectify the injustices of our world which violate the philosophical principle of unity.
"The Earth and our species needs help to come back into balance."
For example, our leading philosophical and pragmatic compasses are contributing to some major ecological, social and individual injustices – systems that need to be addressed through calculated measures. If WE just sit back and allow it to continue, it will. That’s why collective action needs to balance these injustices out, so WE need to decide how WE will personally contribute to our shared goals.
"Caring for the external world really is as important as doing it for our own internal health and growth."
There are many injustices that currently plague our planet. Some serious research via alternative media will uncover a robust reflection of these social dysfunctions and the potential solutions, as well as the social movements which aim to ensure that the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual vitality of every human being is cared for and developed in our future.
"It is a shared responsibility that we transform our world."
It is by having a true sense of the healing and growth that is required for both the inside and outside of us which reflect a holistic approach to a spiritual awakening. Once WE have that awareness, WE should aim for acceptance of why and how it needs to change, as well as the application of strategies to facilitate the therapeutic and developmental process that WE and our society so desperately need to work through.
“Together WE must unite because together WE are ONE."
~ Phillip J. Watt

13 New Perceptions ★
Premise: The Time has come to openly embrace and aspire completely to the cosmic nature of our reality. Only by lifting our minds will we dissolve the barriers of self, tribe, nation, ideology, culture, language, science and religion: All the factors that keep us enslaved to ego and at war with ourselves.
To unify and create a New World, WE need new perceptions. It is up to us to rethink the way things have been done and create a whole system perception of unity. The codes of the Law of Time provide a bridge to lift us from our rote terrestrial consciousness into the unity of Universal Resonance.
To change and up-level our perceptions at the root WE must take responsibility to create within ourselves an underlying matrix of unity. WE must take back our power and reclaim our autonomous sovereignty. WE must discover the archetypal mythic story that we are living and fashion our life around this.

The Decentralized Future: Why Bitcoin is More than Just Money
Tumblr media
In a world increasingly dominated by centralized power structures—whether in finance, governance, or technology—the idea of decentralization is more than just a buzzword. It represents a fundamental shift in how we approach problems, distribute power, and ensure fairness. At the heart of this movement is Bitcoin, a digital currency that is often misunderstood as just another form of money. However, Bitcoin is much more than that; it is a key player in a broader push towards decentralization that could reshape our society in profound ways.
The Rise of Bitcoin and Its Impact Beyond Currency
Bitcoin was created in 2008 as a response to the global financial crisis, which exposed the fragility and corruption of traditional financial systems. Its creator, Satoshi Nakamoto, envisioned a form of money that operated independently of central banks and governments—a currency that could be transferred directly between individuals without the need for intermediaries. This peer-to-peer nature of Bitcoin was revolutionary, challenging the very foundations of how we think about money.
But the impact of Bitcoin extends far beyond its role as a digital currency. Bitcoin’s decentralized nature is being applied to various fields, driving a new wave of innovation that prioritizes transparency, security, and individual empowerment. Whether it’s in the realm of data security, privacy, or even governance, Bitcoin’s underlying principles are proving to be adaptable and transformative.
Blockchain Technology: The Backbone of Decentralization
At the core of Bitcoin’s success is blockchain technology—a decentralized ledger that records transactions in a transparent and immutable way. Unlike traditional databases, which are controlled by a single entity, a blockchain is maintained by a network of participants who work together to verify and record transactions. This decentralized approach not only makes the system more resilient to attacks but also enhances trust among its users.
Blockchain’s transparency is one of its most powerful features. Every transaction on a blockchain is visible to all participants, making it nearly impossible to alter records without being detected. This level of transparency has significant implications for industries that have historically been plagued by corruption and inefficiency. For example, in supply chain management, blockchain can be used to track the journey of products from origin to consumer, ensuring that goods are sourced ethically and sustainably.
Beyond financial applications, blockchain technology is being explored as a tool for decentralized governance. Imagine a world where voting is conducted on a blockchain, ensuring that every vote is counted accurately and transparently. Or consider the potential for decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs), where decisions are made collectively by stakeholders without the need for a central authority. These applications highlight how blockchain technology could lead to more democratic and transparent systems that empower individuals rather than institutions.
The Potential for a More Open and Transparent Future
The decentralized future envisioned by Bitcoin and blockchain technology is one where power is distributed more equitably, and individuals have greater control over their own lives. In this future, governments and corporations would be held accountable through transparent processes that are open to public scrutiny. Decentralized governance models could reduce corruption and ensure that decisions are made in the best interest of the community rather than a select few.
Moreover, decentralization has the potential to empower individuals by giving them control over their own data, finances, and even identities. In a decentralized world, personal information would no longer be stored in centralized databases vulnerable to breaches. Instead, individuals could manage their own data, deciding who has access to it and how it is used. This shift would mark a significant departure from the current model, where a handful of tech giants wield enormous power over our digital lives.
Of course, the road to a fully decentralized future is not without challenges. Scalability remains a significant hurdle for blockchain technology, as current systems struggle to handle large volumes of transactions efficiently. Additionally, regulatory uncertainty poses a risk to the widespread adoption of decentralized solutions. However, the potential benefits of decentralization far outweigh these challenges, and ongoing innovations are likely to address these issues in the coming years.
Conclusion
Bitcoin is often labeled as just another form of money, but this narrow view overlooks its true potential. As part of a broader movement towards decentralization, Bitcoin and blockchain technology are poised to create a more open, transparent, and equitable world. By redistributing power away from centralized authorities and towards individuals, these innovations have the potential to reshape our society in profound ways. As we continue to explore the possibilities of decentralization, one thing is clear: Bitcoin is more than just money; it’s a catalyst for change.

Nonfiction Thursday: New Title Recommendations
Around the Ocean in 80 Fish & Other Sea Life by Helen Scales
This is an inspiring tour of the world's oceans and 80 of its most notable inhabitants. Beautifully illustrated, the book includes fascinating stories of the fish, shellfish, and other sea life that have somehow impacted human life - whether in our medicine, culture or folklore - in often surprising and unexpected ways.
Ice by Amy Brady
Ice is everywhere: in gas stations, in restaurants, in hospitals, in our homes. Americans think nothing of dropping a few ice cubes into tall glasses of tea to ward off the heat of a hot summer day. When children bruise their arms or fall sick with fevers, parents wrap ice in dishtowels and press them tenderly to their skin. Nearly half of all refrigerators owned by Americans feature automatic ice machines. Ice-on-demand has so revolutionized modern life that it's easy to forget that it wasn't always this way...and to overlook what aspects of society might just melt away as the planet warms.
In Ice, journalist and historian Amy Brady shares the strange and storied two-hundred-year-old history of ice in America: from the introduction of mixed-drinks "on the rocks," to P. T. Barnum's first-ever indoor ice rink, to how delicacies like iced custard and iced tea revolutionized our palettes, to the ubiquitous ice machine in every motel across the U.S. But Ice doesn't end in the past. Brady also explores the surprising, present-day uses of ice in sports, medicine, and sustainable energy - including cutting-edge cryotherapy breast-cancer treatments and the promise of a substance called "flammable ice" that may prove to be a cleaner fuel source - underscoring how precious this commodity is, especially in an age of climate change.
In A Flight of Starlings by Giorgio Parisi
In this enchanting little book, celebrated physicist Giorgio Parisi guides us through his unorthodox yet exhilarating work, starting with investigating the principles of physics by observing the sophisticated flight patterns of starlings. Studying the movements of these birds, he has realized, proves an illuminating way into understanding complex systems of all kinds - collections of everything from atoms to planets to other animals like ourselves.
Along the way, he reflects on the lessons he's taken from a life in pursuit of scientific truth: the importance of serendipity to the discovery of new ideas, the surprising kinship between physics and other fields of study and the value of science to a thriving society. In so doing, he removes the practice of science from the confines of the laboratory and into the real world. Complexity is all around us - from climate to finance to biology, it offers a unique way of finding order in chaos.

Strength and weaknesses
Strengths:
Problem-Solving Ability: I understand how to identify problems and approach them in a creative and practical aspect. This is very important as it helps an individual success in various challenges that an entrepreneur is likely to face.
Resilience: Perseverance is an impressive aspect as it shows the ability to continue despite failures. I tend to see failures as investments: I believe that approaching things this way contributes to my ongoing growth and achievements.
Communication Skills: Clear communication skills also enable me to speak and write about visions, energize groups of people, and involve more participants in the process.
Adaptability: Regarding the ability to change directions depending on the situation, it is a critical skill in the world of business where everything is changing every day. Such flexible strategies enable a firm to meet unforeseen threats and tap several opportunities.
Weaknesses:
Risk Aversion: As with any form of aberrance or deviation from a norm, there is a time and place for risk aversion and this can be limiting from time to time if a certain degree of risk is put as an absolute necessity. There are possibilities of strengthening the balancing of imprudent risk against innovation.
Delegation: This is especially true as it relates to task delegations to other people. It is obvious that for a business to expand, it is important to be able to use these trusted subordinates effectively, and this should be the focus of the question.
Time Management: It is sometimes necessary to juggle several tasks at once and this little bit of balancing results in losses. Developing my time-management skills to become more proficient in scheduling priorities will contribute to the efficiency of time.
Networking: To my greatest weakness, networking, in order to grow and sustain the professional network is essential but not my strength. It is very important to actively strive to create additional networking opportunities for improving relationships with valuable partners.
Financial Acumen: A few of the reasons cited above are that I am aware of only rudimentary principles of finance and because if I had a greater understanding of PFA I would be able to make better decisions and run my business more effectively.

Bulgaria, a country often overlooked in the broader European narrative, has begun its steady march towards a significant milestone: the adoption of the euro and the Schengen area by January 1, 2025. This stride, as announced by Prime Minister Nikolay Denkov, is not merely a bureaucratic transition, but a powerful symbol of the nation's commitment to economic stability and its role in fortifying the European Union's (EU) external borders.
Bulgaria's Path to Euro Adoption
Since Bulgaria's accession to the EU in 2007, the nation has been diligently working towards meeting the Maastricht criteria - the yardstick for euro adoption. This includes maintaining low inflation, a stable exchange rate, robust public finances, and convergence of long-term interest rates. Denkov's confidence in Bulgaria's candidacy for euro adoption is built on the country's low debt to GDP ratio and consistently low deficit. These economic indicators, he argues, are indicative of Bulgaria's fiscal discipline and sustainability, a testament to its readiness to join the euro area. Despite the looming concerns over inflation, Denkov remains optimistic that Bulgaria's inflation rate is manageable. He believes that euro adoption would further cement the country's economic stability and open doors for growth. This confidence is not without its basis - the European Central Bank closely monitors inflation rates in candidate countries, ensuring they meet the requisite criteria.
(Read Also: Bulgarian Retirees Await Decision on Christmas Supplements)
Strengthening Border Protection and Schengen Accession
Apart from its economic journey, Bulgaria's path to euro adoption is also intertwined with its progress in fortifying the EU's external border. This is a prerequisite for Bulgaria's entry into the Schengen area, a zone that allows for passport-free travel among member states. Denkov asserts that Bulgaria and Romania's entry into Schengen would not only enable faster border crossings for trucks but also allow a redirection of border police to the EU's external borders - a move that would benefit other member countries. The Schengen accession has been a long-standing aspiration for both Bulgaria and Romania since their EU accession in 2007. Despite significant strides in meeting the necessary requirements, their entry has been delayed due to apprehensions from some EU member states about the effectiveness of their border control systems. Yet, their eventual accession would not only enhance security cooperation within the EU and fortify the EU's external borders but also foster greater integration and mobility within the EU, echoing the fundamental principles of the European project.
Potential Implications of Euro Adoption
Joining the euro area would usher in a new era for Bulgaria's economy and its integration within the EU. Adopting the euro would mitigate the country's currency risk and augment economic stability. It would eliminate transaction costs and exchange rate risks for businesses operating between Bulgaria and the eurozone, catalyzing cross-border trade and investment, and enhancing Bulgaria's appeal to foreign direct investment. Moreover, being part of the euro area would grant Bulgaria access to the European Stability Mechanism, a financial safety net for eurozone countries facing financial difficulties. This would provide additional support to Bulgaria in times of economic crises. In conclusion, Bulgaria's progress towards euro adoption by January 1, 2025, is more than a date on a calendar. It symbolizes the country's resolve to further integrate within the EU and its commitment to economic stability and border protection. As Bulgaria moves towards this milestone, the nation is affirming its position as a reliable and active member of the EU, ready to shoulder its shared responsibilities and reap the benefits of the collective endeavour.
