FOR THOSE WHO CAME IN LATE. I'm an OFF fan and I originally intended on giving some Elsen personalities as a way to work more with OFF'S environment but then got way too carried away making their personalities that they're fully fleshed out characters except for 5 and 15 (lmao). So here's a lore dump for those interested and have no idea why I've been so obsessed with these little guys for the longest time. They're just Elsen OCs right? WRONG. :]. Warning, stuff like death, suicide, substance abuse, sex, and other icky stuff are casually mentioned but aren't in detail.

And then last but not least, there's Elsen 16/Therapist. He's an official ECU Elsen made by the one and only @bludscrewz, of which they can elaborate on his personality and... unique way of getting here themself since it's still technically their little guy. I love him to bits though and he's very fun to personally characterize

Yesterday was the anniversary of the development.. uuuuu. I missed it, but oh well...

There isnt much to add, other than the fact that i have not been working on the game as much, and when i do, its always revisions and adding new things, removing old things, the such.. basicly life in a shellnut. The game constantly goes through changes, whether it be in dialogue or assets, or story wise the such. May as well add in those changes.

The Guardians

The guardians have since been replaced with fresh blood as lore wise they have been defeated and these Inhabitants took over, except Pablo/Judge who is still alive and kicking.... Except he got quite fat over the years. Allow me to introduce them to you...

Ananiel is the Guardian of Zone 1, clad with the coat of the old Guardian Dedan and a pair of floating arms, she ensures that the Zone runs as smoothly as she possibly can. Design wise, her floating hands compensate the lack of arms and originally she was to have tree stumps for legs, but has changed for overworld sprite wise it would not translate so well.. and as an accessory she possesses Dedan's old and tattered coat which is... Too big for her, but she wears it with pride. Personality wise, while she shares similar traits to Dedan with her temperament and 'take shit from no one' mentality, she is kind at heart, however she shows that love to Max, whom she overly coddles to Hell and back.

Raphael is the Guardian of Zone 2, he wears a necklace made of Japhet's feathers, he slithers in the footsteps of the firebird by ensuring peace and solitude across the Zone. He was suppose to have wings, but the design done by @sothomy is quite gucci if you ask me!! Like Japoop, he has 2 forms, 1 being the small snake form, and the other, a big snake. Personality wise, Raphael is a soft-spoken serpent, who's also a wee bit anxious to say the least. He tries his best to ensure the denizen of his Zone are at peace, however shit ensues from thereon and Raph has to do everything in his power to get his status back from the impostor.

Jeguriel, the Guardian of Zone 3, the supposed 'Assistant Director', he possesses the semi-sentient head of Enoch himself. I'd say he looks more like a young Leshy with humanoid traits (given the arm and a bush for hair), and his face can open up to reveal a big mouf. Personality wise? Read up on his name it'll give you a hint... well.. the fact that he has someone's big ass head for a weapon should be an indicator to his personality obv!!

The assets

If you have followed along for the time being, and regarding my last post, I am working on remaking the assets from scretch... so if you notice a sudden drop in quality, that's why... I am trying my damnest, it's not great, but at least it's something... on the bright note, the cutscenes should look a little bit more crispier to say the least..

NEW RESIDENTS

Meet the Heipei, triangular faced creatures with branches growing out of their ears! They are very babey yes!! They are native to this world, and probably smell like spices...

Originally their loincloths were to had the vertical eye symbol, but that was removed because the placement would be a reminder of the female labia... I have words to say but people would get offended so I'll refrain from commenting.. Point of the matter is, Heipei are much more different than the Elsen, they are more friendly and outgoing than their counterparts. Elsen of course aren't native to this world but they have the same rights as the Heipei! Elsen in this world cannot burn, instead the Heipei 'burn' for them, i.e. a Heipei loses their natural form and begin morphing into tree-like abominations called Metamorphs. Originally the Elsen would turn into plant-like monsters, but since the addition of the Heipei, I decided to put them in the torture box!

The future

Don't ask me what the future holds, at this point I don't even know if I'll ever finish the game.. the game goes through constant development hell, and with me having a real life, I basicly work on the game from time to time, in small amounts... one day it might be released, if not as a full release then as an unfinished demo.. if I disappoint you with that revelation, I'm sorry... All I know now is that I'm taking the time to refurbish the assets, and just quietly working on the game.. thank you for following the development, even if I wasted almost 10 years on this shit... least I learned new things that could help me when I make a future game or smth..

OFF AU THINGY by me

My silly thoughts at night had created an OFF AU where it’s just OFF but also not

The AU’s name is OFFSCOURING (crazy right)

PLOT 

You are in control of The Batter, trusted with a crucial mission to purify the world.. again?

The world of OFFSCOURING takes place after The Judge defeated The Batter. The Judge then somehow gained the power or creation and recreate everything like how it used to be. OFF’s events happened and this time with no participation of Batter. Forward into the future, The Batter is once again summoned by Pablo truly to purify the more broken and sinister world (with a sprinkle of deja vu).

Also the 3 original guardians have been forcefully retired, lending their power to three whole new leaders. The place is also more widen and another zone appeared, hosted and controlled by an old friend.

Note: Except for Zacharie and The Judge, no one knows who The Batter is, even Hugo and The Queen.

WORLD BUILDING

There are 6 places you can go here: 

Zone 0 - There’s no guardian here: a place where specters appear in the most

Zone 1 - Greeve 

Zone 2 - Aminus 

Zone 3 - Larot 

Zone 4 - Zacharie (holy shit)

The Palace: In host of The Queen with Hugo’s room on the top of the building.

CHARACTERS

This part is still in development (so far i have made 2 reference sheets which isn’t much).

The Batter: Very confuse, still wants to purify the world.

The Elsens: There are now more types of Elsens now thanks to the advance technology. Burnt’s can now be ‘treated’ and there’s these kind of Elsen who are responsible for keeping the cloning process stable. (Also: Elsens have proper names here, their names either starts with the letter E or end with the letter N (or both)).

Dedan: Never thought he’d ever retired. Currently living in Zone 0 just to satisfy his wants of killing specters. He drinks all the time and feed off of specters’ meat. He is also accompanied by an Elsen who doesn’t like the new guardian.

Japhet: Aminus killed him and use his body as a coat.

Enoch: He lives in Zone 1 now, working along with other elsens. Out of passion, he opened a bakery by himself which only opened at day since most of his working shifts are at night. He’s nicer but overworked and really just craving for admiration from others. Still a very tall mister he is, 

The Merchant: Zacharie, ‘thanks’ to Pablo, now is a Guardian of newly founded Zone and he’s forced to enjoy it. He’s also planned to join the Batter who is on his way to purification. Zacharie here is a mechanic and scientist, creating holograms replacing him in every zone.

Greeve: The new guardian of Zone 1. Didn’t know a Burnt could replace Dedan. Greeve might not be as aggressive as the past guardian but he sure is a mischievous one. He is the founder of the Burnts treatment, making them fully functional for working. Greeve has a liking to gambling and an obsession with luck. When Batter killed Greeve, he would explode into acid goo that eats everything it touches. 

Aminus: The new guardian of Zone 2. Filled with pride and riskiness, she managed to take away Japhet’s throne...and his life too.

Larot: The new guardian of Zone 3.

The Prince: Hugo, a child filled with unreasonable sorrow.. Not really a child he’s 2 years from becoming an adult now. Being unable to walk, a kind merchant had gifted him a very advanced bug themed vehicle. Hugo only uses the robot when he needs to go outside though, most of the time he stays in his room, sleeping, or watching the television. Yes, The Batter will have to kill him. When Batter fights him, the vehicle will turn into [thing visualized below]. In the end, the robot will explode with only Hugo’s burnt body left, his last words were “ It was nice playing with you, Batter. ”

Felt like sharing some art of my Elsen Oc Edie!

They're an Elsen from Zone three and they work | serve primarily as a mechanic and a janitor of some sorts; hence the burnt elsen leftovers and overall soot on their face and clothes in the end ha. An ultimate sweetie at heart and one who takes pride in their work, and the Elsen overall.

They're quite protective of other Elsen in the workspace, and hold a higher awareness to their surroundings, and the chaos and terror around them. I'd like to think they put up a lot with both Dedan, and Enoch's shenanigans. So much, that it would lead for them to prefer hanging around in Zone 0, or Zone two. Edie is a deck of cards and a wonder, serving many purposes throughout the zones and only being needed all the more when the spectres start to scatter about. Originally i created Edie within the depths of my OFF obsession back in 2012 to 13-ish, and recently i finally got around to revamping her after i replayed the game!
